While Kangana Ranaut is vocal about nepotism in Bollywood and doesn’t hold back from naming and shaming people of the industry, she is also quite supportive and appreciative of actors and films that she thinks did a good job.
Her praising KJo’s Shershaah and Sidharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra is proof that she does call spade a spade.

Although there are not many people in the film industry who impress her, there is one who recently got heaps of praises from the actress.

Yami Gautam's latest thriller, A Thursday, just released last week and her performance is being praised across the country. Kangana, too, is one of the people who are hailing the film and applauding Yami.
    © RSVP Movies
The film is currently enjoying an 8.3 rating on IMDb which is a great deal, especially for a woman-centric thriller film.

Yami shared a picture of the same and captioned it, “No words to describe how this makes me feel Thanks to your constant love and support, that has helped me at every step in my journey!”
    © Instagram/Yami Gautam
Kangana took to her social media and shared the picture on her Instagram stories, congratulating the entire team of A Thursday and the lead actress Yami Gautam. Yami reposted this on her story and thanked the actress. She wrote, “Thank you Kangana. Means a lot, especially when it comes from one self-made actor to another.”

This isn’t the first time Kangana has showered praises and love on Yami.

Not just for the film, but at her wedding to director Aditya Dhar, Yami got praises from Kangana for being a “raw mountain girl” as she posed as a Himachali bride. She wrote in her stories, “Older than tradition and time. Nothing more divine than a raw mountain girl turned bride #himachalpradesh."

Both Yami and Kangana belong to Himachal Pradesh and both were considered ‘outsiders’ when they came to Bollywood.

That said, all eyes are on the Delhi batter who is set to become only the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 or more Tests for the country, and rightly so.
It’s an incredible achievement for any player irrespective of the time they played but more so in this generation because the amount of cricket that is being played right now is just relentless.
'I never thought i'll play 100 Test matches. It has been a long journey. Grateful that i've been able to make it to 100' - @imVkohli on his landmark Test.

More than the skill sets, one needs to be a top athlete to achieve this milestone and Kohli has done that brilliantly, despite playing all three formats and the IPL for the last 10 years or so.
Reflecting on Kohli’s journey in Test cricket, skipper Rohit Sharma described it as a “hell of a ride” and hoped that it would continue like this for many more years.
@imVkohli playing 100 Test matches is testimony to his hardwork and dedication towards the game: @Jaspritbumrah93 #TeamIndia | #INDvSL pic.twitter.com/6yh13WWkJ3

Kohli’s love for Test cricket is no secret and he has played a vital role in transforming India’s red-ball side. The way our players performed under Kohli’s leadership changed the whole world’s perception about the Indian team. We are no longer considered to be home-track bullies. We have shown the whole world that we know how to win matches in conditions alien to us.
Even Rohit acknowledged the role Kohli has played in taking the Indian team to new heights through his visionary leadership.

“It has been a long journey for him and it has been a wonderful one. He has done exceedingly well in this format, he has changed so many things in the way the team is moving forward. It has been one hell of a ride for him and it will continue to be in the coming years,” Rohit told the reporters during a virtual press conference on the eve of the Mohali Test.
When asked about his own approach as a Test leader, Rohit thanked the former skipper for leaving the team in a strong position and added that he would look to continue doing the same things as him.
    View this post on Instagram
“I am looking forward to just winning games and doing the right things with the right players in the squad. As a Test team, we at the moment stand in a very good position, credit goes to Virat for getting us going in this format.
“What he did with the Test team was brilliant to see, I have to just take it forward from where he (Kohli) left,” said the opening batter.

It was heartening to see the new skipper acknowledging the hard work done by the previous regime that changed the shape of Indian cricket forever. We just hope Rohit’s tenure is as successful as his predecessor and the Indian team scales new heights of greatness.

After helming the Marathi blockbuster Sairat in 2016, filmmaker Nagraj Manjule is back with his next directorial, this time a Hindi one in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer sports drama Jhund.
Ahead of the theatrical release of the film, we sat with Nagraj Manjule and talked about why he held onto the film for over a year despite the film being ready and didn’t go for the option of OTT release.
The reason revealed by Nagraj Manjule is quite sweet and is about his love for Amitabh Bachchan since childhood.
    © Instagram/Nagraj Manjule
He told MensXP, “Bilkul aaye they (OTT platforms se offers) aur socha bhi tha hamaare producers ne aur sabne aur mere saamne yeh baat bhi rakhi thi. Lekin main chahta tha ki bade parde par hi yeh film release honi chahiye. Yeh meri pehli film hai Bachchan sir ke saath. Aur main chahta tha ki jinko maine zindagi bhar parde pe dekha hai bade unko main apni film mein sabke saath bade parde par dekhna chahta tha. (We received a lot of offers from OTT platforms and our producers even thought about it. They also told me, but I wanted the film to release on the big screen because this is my first film with Amitabh Bachchan and I grew up watching his films on the big screen. So, I wanted to watch him in my film on the big screen).”

He continued, “Doosri baat yeh hai ki agar yeh film aap jhund mein dekhenge, samooh mein dekhenge, sabke saath dekhenge, uska ek impact alag hota hai. Aur main toh maanta hoon ki koi bhi film aap akele dekho ya logon ke saath dekho toh uska perception kahiye ya impact kahiye badal jaata hai. To mujhe lagta tha ki yeh film theatre mein dikhana hai aur sabne baat meri maan li and finally film release ho rahi hai. (Secondly, the impact of watching a film in a group is different than watching it alone. So, I said I want this film to be seen on the big screen first and thankfully producers agreed and finally the film is now releasing)”.

Noted Industrialist Anand Mahindra on Thursday expressed interest in setting up a new medical studies institution on the campus of Mahindra University and requested CP Gurnani, Tech Mahindra MD and CEO to help implement his vision.
I had no idea that there was such a shortfall of medical colleges in India. @C_P_Gurnani could we explore the idea of establishing a medical studies institution on the campus of @MahindraUni ? https://t.co/kxnZ0LrYXV

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Mr Mahindra had tweeted, "I had no idea that there was such a shortfall of medical colleges in India. CP Gurnani, could we explore the idea of establishing a medical studies institution on the campus of Mahindra University?"
Anand Mahindra is an ardent Twitter user, taking time from his hectic schedules to interact with the 8.9 million followers he’s amassed. And he’s popular on the site for responding to real-life events and sharing his opinions on the same.
    © Anand Mahindra
His tweet was directed as a response to a TOI story that showed the top destinations abroad for Indian students studying medicine with data sourced from the Ministry of External Affairs.

China topped the list with 23,000 Indian medical students already studying there, closely followed by the presently warring nations, Ukraine and Russia, at 18,000 and 15,500 respectively.
While Anand Mahindra’s idea was met with widespread support and glee among Twitter users, they also gave him a reality check on the unnecessarily high tuition fees that currently plague most private medical colleges in India.
A Twitter user while agreeing with Anand Mahindra reminded him of the exorbitant fees that presently exist, saying, “Yes good idea but shouldn't keep fees like crores what other institutions do”. To which the Industrialist succinctly replied, “Noted”.
    Noted. https://t.co/HQilTVJbe9
    — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) March 3, 2022
Another user replied to Anand Mahindra’s original tweet, commenting, “If you do please try to keep the fees nominal. These students go abroad not just due to lack of seats but the enormous cost.”

    — Agamoni Ghosh (@agamoni) March 3, 2022
This particular Twitter user called it a great business idea, claiming most medical colleges to be run by politicians, he said, “Good idea. It’s a good business sir!! Most of private medical colleges are run by politicians only. 70-80lakhs rupee for printing a degree. Very cost effective.”

“It will be more appreciated if you keep the fees of your medical college in line of these abroad countries or lower than that because many private player have colleges but they charge 1-1.25 cr for 5.5 year course”, said another commenter.

Another reason why Indian medical students opt to pursue their education abroad is due to the lack of availability of seats in Indian medical colleges.
According to the National Medical Commission, there were only 605 medical colleges offering a total of 90,825 MBBS seats a year to almost 1.6 million students that took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for MBBS admissions in 2021.
Thus leaving a majority of the Indian medical students with no other option but to look abroad to countries like China, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Armenia, and others, for affordable education.
The ongoing debate over the state of Medical Education in India comes in the wake of the Russian-Ukraine conflict, in which an Indian Medical student in Ukraine was killed during an airstrike. His father then spoke to the media and lashed out against the system which seems to prefer money over talent.
“Despite scoring 97% in PUC, my son could not secure a medical seat in State. To get a medical seat one has to give crores of rupees and students are getting the same education abroad spending less money," shared the grief-stricken father of Naveen, who was killed while he was out to get food from a nearby grocery store.
What do you think about Anand Mahindra’s idea? Do you think it will go some way in helping the Indian medical fraternity? Do let us know in the comments below.

Amid the mounting pressure, Chelsea’s Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich has decided to sell the Premier League giants.
Abramovich, who is alleged to have close ties with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that he has always taken the decisions with the club’s “best interest at heart” and he under the current circumstances it was better for him to sell the club to safeguard the interest of the club, the fans, the employees and all the other stakeholders.
Roman Abramovich has a large shareholding in a Russian steelmaking firm making materials used to build the tanks invading Ukraine.

He transferred his shares directly to himself from an offshore company on Feb 16 - 8 days before Putin invaded.

“I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the Club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the Club’s sponsors and partners,” Abramovich said in a press statement, released on Chelsea’s official Twitter handle.
Chelsea won every possible trophy during the Abramovich era:

    Premier League
    FA Cup
    EFL Cup
    Champions League
    Europa League
    Community Shield
    Club World Cup

Since his takeover, Chelsea won every single trophy that was there to be won. During his 19-year-long reign, no other English team won as many trophies as the West London Club. The reigning  European champions won a total of 21 trophies and established themselves a force to reckon with not only in England but in Europe as well.
All this success wouldn’t have been possible without the gigantic purse of Abramovich. Since the takeover, the 55-year-old owner lent the club a huge sum of 1.5 billion pounds ($2 billion) which helped them bring the best players to Stamford Bridge, among other things.

In his statement, Abramovich further stated that he would not be asking the potential buyer to repay this huge loan and the net proceeds from the sale will be donated to a charitable foundation that will work for the benefit of all the victims of the war in Ukraine.
Abramovich: “I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club”. #CFC

“The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club.
Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery,” he said in the statement.

Abramovich’s decision comes on the back of reports in British media that claimed that the UK government was seriously considering freezing all the assets acquired by the Russian oligarchs on their soil.
The Chelsea owner might be going through an intense media scrutiny at the moment but the Chelsea supporters have nothing but good things to say about him. After all, he was the one who brought them all this success and they are distraught to see their club’s owner parting ways like this.
#Exclusive: Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss is considering a purchase of @ChelseaFC, as he reveals today in an interview @Blickch The owner and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovitsch is afraid of sanctions and wants to sell the club to Wyss, among others.https://t.co/ICkPYax9F0
    — Nicola Imfeld (@nicola_imfeld) March 1, 2022
According to reports, there are at least three potential buyers who are willing to buy the club. Among them is Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss, who in an interview with Swiss newspaper Blick, confirmed that he was offered the club by Abramovich himself.
In the interview he took a direct swipe at Abramovich saying he was in a state of ‘panic” and was trying to sell his villas in England, fearing that the UK government might freeze them.
Chelsea's Russian owner Roman Abramovich is reported to have been effectively barred from living in Britain ever again as he is named as one of the 'key enablers' of Vladimir Putin's regime.

“Abramovich is one of Putin’s closest advisers and friends. Like all other oligarchs, he is also in a panic. Abramovich is trying to sell all his villas in England. He also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly. I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich,” Wyss told Blick.
Despite letting go of his loaned amount, buying a club of Chelsea’s stature won’t be cheap as Abramovich has asked for a price in the region of $4 billion.

The ongoing war with Russia forcing itself up into Ukraine has got the entire world praying for peace. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously mentioned how the morale of Putin’s forces has been 'constantly deteriorating' and that his army has already killed over 9,000 invaders.

'We are a nation that broke the enemy's plans in a week. Plans written for years: sneaky, full of hatred for our country, our people,' Zelensky said in a video. A video that is now going viral across social media shows a Russian soldier breaking down in tears as he speaks to his mother on the phone after surrendering to Ukrainians. The people of Ukraine served him tea and food as well.
Video shared on Ukrainian channels of a captured Russian soldier apparently being fed by locals. The post says he burst into tears when he was allowed to video-call his mother. So many of these troops are just teenagers, with absolutely no clue what this war is really for. pic.twitter.com/oCPUC8cKcO
    — Matthew Luxmoore (@mjluxmoore) March 2, 2022
The young boy can be seen being comforted by the locals and has an emotional outburst as he blows kisses to his mom. The video is not really verified and has drawn various kinds of reactions. While many claim that Russian kids are fighting this war with the consent of their own parents, most people are just heartbroken by the fact that this can be emotionally damaging to young men being used to fight a war they didn’t want in the first place.
