Gautam Gambhir - BJP leader, former Indian opener and current coach of the Lucknow Super Giants presented Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the first bat of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) team.
Sanjeev Goenka and Gautam Gambhir presented the bat to the Chief Minister, according to the new franchise's official Twitter account.
The caption was as follows: "The first bat of the #LucknowSuperGiants presented to the Honorable Chief Minister, @myogiadityanath. Grateful to receive his support!”

Fans of Indian cricket were quick to oppose this interaction with the Uttar Pradesh CM suggesting that it was never a good idea to mix cricket with politics.
What a downfall of Gautam Gambhir.
From receiving wishes and applaud from Mamata di to giving bats to this photoshop merchant.
    — abdullah. (@EmptySubset) February 18, 2022Plzz keep cricket away from politics.

    — Carl Johnson (@Deepsin19820677) February 18, 2022 However, Lucknow wasn’t the first team to recognise the contributions of a local political leader.
Back when Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders to their second IPL title, it was the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee who felicitated the skipper and the squad at the Eden Gardens in 2014.

Alongside Lucknow, the Gujarat Titans will be the second new team that will debut in the 14th season of the cash-rich league. Former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower will coach the Lucknow franchise, and Gautam Gambhir will serve as a mentor.

Before the mega-auction, Lucknow chose three prominent players: elegant opener KL Rahul, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Rahul, who was the captain of the Punjab Kings for the last two seasons, will lead the new team.

However, during the auction, some big names like Deepak Hooda, Jason Holder, and Krunal Pandya were among the multi-dimensional talents that the team owners bought, ensuring that the batting order has ample diversity.
Quinton de Kock (6.75 crores), the South African wicketkeeper-batsman, is anticipated to start the batting alongside Rahul. Kyle Mayers of the West Indies has been selected as a backup.
The franchise also chose Manish Pandey for a fee of Rs 4.6 crores.
Pandey has struggled in the IPL in recent seasons and considering that he will play the position of an anchor at No. 3, his performance will be key to Lucknow's success.

Lucknow spent a massive ten crores on speed bowler Avesh Khan, as well as reinforcing their roster with the likes of England's Mark Wood and Sri Lanka's Dushmanta Chameera.
Ankit Rajpoot, a seamer from Uttar Pradesh, was also selected for a fee of 50 lakhs.
Ravi Bishnoi, the squad's only leg-spinner, will be in charge of the spin department. Krunal's backups will be Shahbaz Ahmed and Krishanappa Gowtham.

With the win against the West Indies in the second of three T20I matches at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stadium, skipper Rohit Sharma has boosted his winning record in white-ball cricket significantly. However, fans of former captain Virat Kohli, are still not happy and found Sharma’s record highly inflated.
Although the Hitman was unable to play an impacting inning himself and got dismissed for just 19 runs in 18 deliveries while smacking two 4’s and one 6 during his time on the pitch, his batters, including Kohli and Rishabh Pant’s half-centuries, put together a total of 186, and his bowlers did well to defend this total over the course of the 20 overs.

With the second T20I win, Sharma bagged yet another series during his tenure as the Indian captain.
Over the last 10 matches across all formats of the game in which he has been the Indian skipper, the Men in Blue have won each and every one of those games.

The whitewash wins in the ODI series against Kieron Pollard’s men that concluded earlier this month boosted Sharma’s record in 50-over cricket all the way to 84.61%.
On the other hand, his T20I winning percentage also rose to an incredible 83.33% with his latest win.

    •In ODIs - 84.61%
    •In T20Is - 83.33%

Obviously, these are some exceptional numbers and the history of the game suggests that these numbers are bound to deteriorate with time as Sharma plays more and more matches as a leader.
Still, to have such an amazing start to one’s captaincy is definitely worth celebrating.
However, Kohli’s fans seem to have some real issues with Sharma’s record and feel as if the numbers don’t paint a true picture of what is really going on.
I'd like to see how he goes about against stronger teams like Eng, Aus, NZ outside India. Coz in India we don't loose & apart from these 3-4(SENA) teams other countries don't even compete.

In india no one can beat us doesn't matter who's the captain

    — Balu (@TheNameisBalu_) February 18, 2022 According to these doubters, Sharma’s winning record is so high simply because he has not led the squad against India’s stronger opponents in international cricket including South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia (also known as the SENA nations) where it is a lot more difficult and challenging to win matches.
The Hitman’s first assignment as the Indian skipper was supposed to be in the ODI series in South Africa earlier this year. However, Sharma was taken out of the roster a week before the team left for the Proteas with complaints of a hamstring injury. As a result, the captaincy was given to KL Rahul and India lost the series 0-3.

The whole nepotism debate in the Indian entertainment industry started on an episode of Koffee With Karan where Kangana Ranaut branded Karan Johar as 'the flag bearer of nepotism in Bollywood'.
She spoke openly about the issue, making her stand clear on the practice that is a bane for outsiders like her.

This is probably why people found it strange when she teamed up with Ekta Kapoor, who is also a star kid, for the reality show Lock Upp.

Kangana is the host of the show that will stream live 24X7 on ALTBalaji.
However, she cleared the air on her collab with the Indian television producer after being slammed for her ‘doglapan’ (two-facedness) by fans. And, it’s an even more confusing statement.

In an interview clip shared by her on her Instagram stories, she is seen defending Kapoor and opening up about the criticism she has received on working with her.

She said in the video that she was never against nepotism and that Ekta isn’t a bully who only gives opportunities to industry insiders.

“Nepotism was never my problem. The problem was ganging up on outsiders, because of nepotism. You understand? There is a difference. If you are doing your job quietly, no problem. But to say ‘ye outsider hain, ye yaha nahi hone chahiye because ye humare baap dada ki jagah hai (These are outsiders, they should not be here because this is our ancestors’ land)’, that is wrong, no? Ekta has never been a part of a bully gang, that I can assure you (sic),” she said.

While we agree on it, in one of the promos of the show, she is seen saying, "There are two kinds of people in the world- one who like me and others are those B-grade strugglers who stay in news by bad-mouthing me. These haters filed FIRs against me to drown my voice and applied the nepotism formula. My life has been turned into a 24x7 reality show. But now it's my turn.”

Safe to say that her stand is pretty confusing on the ‘nepotism’ thing at this point. But then, most of her statements are.
