    Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar made a sharp observation when he saw West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase's entire left hand covered in black tape. Although players use tape to protect their fingers when fielding, he questioned whether the full palm of your left hand could be covered. 
    Chase had bowled a couple of overs by the time Gavaskar brought it to everyone's attention. It was the sixth over of the Indian innings at that point!

    He asked questions around whether the bandage was legal or not and also the nature of the material that was used to make it. 

    In today's cricket, we see this pretty frequently, and that is something that a lot of fielders currently wear. The Little Master said that he could understand using something like that to cover the base of his fingers or even the webbing but to cover the entire palm felt as if it shouldn’t be allowed.
    The legendary cricketer went on to raise concerns about how something like this bandage could help the fielder while catching the ball or while gripping it and throwing it back to the pitch while fielding and therefore should not be allowed during a match.
    Upon multiple replays of Chase’s arm, even the people who were watching the match began to question the black band and urged the BCCI to look into the fairness of using it in cricket matches, especially at an international level.

    Btw, I don't think it to be legal as Mr. Sunil Gavaskar had expressed his concern about the same.

    Following a 3-0 win against the touring West Indies side in the ODI series, the Men in Blue have also gained a 2-0 lead in T20Is under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. 
    The second T20I brought some promising sights for Virat Kohli fans who took a sigh of relief after the batter scored 52 runs off 41 deliveries while taking his team’s total to 185 - which was just enough of a total to defend by the Men in Blue, who won the match by 8 runs.

    Rohit Sharma is set to be named as the next Test captain of the Indian team according to multiple reports. His credentials as a skipper are second to none in white-ball cricket, but how he would do in the longest format of the game will be interesting to see, if he does get the opportunity to lead the side in Tests. 

    On Friday, a report by Cricbuzz stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to name Rohit as the captain across all formats. 
    A number of cricket experts, including former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, are against the decision of making Rohit an all-format captain. The reasons are his fitness issues, workload management and his age. 
    Rohit has been struggling with his hamstring for over a couple of years now and has missed important tours and matches due to his fitness concerns.

    After failing to attain match fitness ahead of an important Test series against Australia, Rohit missed the first couple of matches of the four-match series. He also did not participate in the limited-overs series Down Under. 

    Rohit was in terrific form in Tests prior to the tour of Australia and India certainly missed his presence in the first Test as they were bundled out for 36. He did manage to make a comeback for the final two Tests and help India win the series.

    It was probably the best chance India had to register a Test series win in South Africa. However, ahead of their departure, Rohit suffered a hamstring injury and was ruled out of the whole tour. 

    India won the first Test but an injury to Virat Kohli saw the team failing to defend a target of 240 and in the following Test, despite Kohli returning to the playing XI, the hosts failed to get over the line and lost the series 1-2. 
    Without Rohit at the top, Indian openers failed to negate the new ball danger and exposed the middle order to the new ball and what transpired next was another series defeat in the Rainbow nation.

    Rohit Sharma will turn 35 in a couple of months time and you never know how many years of cricket are left in him. Age is definitely not on his side and we saw how India struggled when Kohli was not calling the shots in South Africa. 

    Rohit can be the interim captain but it is important that the board and selectors must identify the potential candidate to lead the team for a longer period of time and use Kohli and Rohit's presence to groom the next candidate who will take over the captaincy role. 
    If Rohit gets to lead the team across formats, he will be expected to play all the matches and with the current international calendar, it will be too much on his injury-prone body. 
    So, the wise decision for the BCCI would be to identify the potential candidates and groom them to take over the leadership role in the longest format of the game.

    As per reports, Katrina was Anurag Basu's initial choice for Barfi, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Basu reportedly shared the whole story with the Sooryavanshi actress because he wanted to recreate Kat and Ranbir's great chemistry from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani once again.

    Unfortunately, Katrina turned down the role. According to the rumours back then, she wasn't sure about working in a two-heroine film. At last, Ileana D'Cruz got the part and made her Bollywood debut with Barfi. She got a positive response for her performance in the hit film and even received awards in the Best Debut Female category at various prestigious award ceremonies including Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards, and Zee Cine Awards.

    For the unversed, Barfi was released in 2012 and turned out to be one of the biggest hits of that year. It entered the 100 crore club and was declared as India's official entry for the 85th Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film nomination. The much-acclaimed film revolved around a mute and deaf guy, Murphy Johnson aka Barfi, and his relationship with Shruti (Ileana) and Jhilmil (Barfi's autistic childhood friend). 
    Later, Katrina finally worked with Basu and Ranbir together in Jagga Jasoos which was panned by critics and failed to make a mark at the box office.

    Talking about Ranbir and Katrina’s relationship, the duo met each other on the sets of their 2009 film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and fell in love. After dating for four years, the duo parted ways in 2016.  
    Both of them have now moved on in their lives and are in a happy space. While the Bang Bang actress is enjoying marital bliss with Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir is in a steady relationship with Alia Bhatt. The couple is rumoured to get married soon.
