It is often believed that the biggest influence in a child’s life is that of the parents.

We inherit the good and the bad, from their small habits to their style of decision making, our subconscious connection to what our parents do in their lives is perennial.
So, it's only natural that you see someone pick up the same profession as their parents. While some denominators remain common, sometimes, we choose to pick a path unknown and make our own territory.
Here are 5 celebrities who are kids of sports stars but decided to pick modelling and acting as their careers:
    1. Deepika PadukoneThe A-lister actress is a brand name in herself and her journey from her modelling days in Bangalore to ruling the film industry in Mumbai is a tale of hard work.
Deepika is the daughter of Badminton star Prakash Padukone and had, in fact, played badminton professionally before acting became her calling.

    2. Sara TendulkarIn this case, one might say ‘sirf naam hi kaafi hai’, as the daughter of Sachin Tendulkar requires no formal introduction.
While Sara stayed away from the media glare for the longest time, she surprised everyone when she debuted as a model for a fashion brand and has probably taken up modelling professionally now.

While Vindu has acted in many films and even participated in a reality show, he continues to be known as Dara Singh’s son.

    4. Saif & Soha Ali KhanThe Pataudi siblings grew up in a talent house of their own, with their mother Sharmila Tagore being one of the most successful actresses, and their father Mansoor Ali Khan being a celebrated cricket star.
The brother-sister duo probably caught the acting bug before their interest in a sport could overtake that and hence decided to foray into Bollywood.

Catfights in Bollywood are not common, or at least it's not really commonly reported these days.

While social media today is all about filtered content and good PR strategies of celebs, in the early 90s, it was fodder for gossip.
In 1994, one such fight that surprised and shocked everyone was a war of words between Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai and Manisha Koirala. The gossip mill was rife that the two were madly in love with a model named Rajeev Mulchandani.
It was reported that he dumped Aishwarya for Manisha and after a few tabloids printed this, it made things weird for the actresses.
Speaking in an interview, Aishwarya revealed details about this fiasco. “In the beginning of ’94, a leading magazine came out with the scoop that 'Rajeev had dumped her for Manisha'. I called up Rajeev the moment I came to know about this, asking what all the crap was about. Rajeev was a very good friend of mine, nothing beyond that. I told him I didn’t want to get roped into their love story. After two months, they weren’t seeing each other. Manisha was seeing a different guy every second month,” she said.

She added that later in 1995, she watched Bombay in Tamil and thought it was brilliant. “I was exclaiming to him about how excellent Manisha was in the film and that I was planning to send her a bouquet to congratulate her. At that, he laughed at me and asked me whether or not I had been reading the papers. He informed me that Manisha claimed that she’d discovered some love letters that Rajeev had written to me.” Aishwarya quipped.

“I mean, if there was any kind of authenticity to this article, why didn’t this piece of info come out in July ’94?” She said, further stating that if that was the reason for her split with Rajeev in a couple of months, then why was she brooding on it for nine whole months before coming out in the open?

Aishwarya later mentioned that this episode had left her feeling hurt and she cried for days over it.

“Today, it’s four years after that incident, but she still keeps bringing that topic up. It naturally means that all this is stemming from something else and not merely a lost relationship,” Aishwarya said in a another interview.

Just like after India's previous Under-19 World Cup triumph in 2018, when an age fudge case came to light as Manjot Kalra was banned for two years, another age fraud controversy has hit Indian cricket and this time, the allegations have come from the Sports Commissioner of Maharashtra.
Pacer Rajvardhan Hangargekar has been accused of age fraud and a complaint has been sent to the BCCI.
According to a report published in Saamna newspaper, Omprakash Bakoria, Commissioner of Sports and Youth Department, Maharashtra, has written to the BCCI about the alleged age fraud by fast bowler Hangargekar along with evidence against the pacer.
According to the report, Hangergekar's real age is 21. It states that during his readmission in the eighth standard, Hangargekar's date of birth was changed from January 10, 2001, to November 10, 2002. This change allowed him to participate in the Under-19 World Cup which India won, after beating England in the final.
    Troubles for Rajvardhan Hangargekar.

CSK was Hangargekar's father's favourite IPL team and he said he was happy to fulfil his late father's dream by bagging a CSK contract.
“Everyone wants to play in the IPL, by the time my name came up in the auction, that was the moment I got excited about. When MI and CSK were fighting it out for me in the auction, that was a great moment for me,” Hangargekar had said in a video posted on the IPL website.
