Scientists around the globe may have been awarded Nobel Prizes for all kinds of inventions and discoveries, but no scientist has ever or will ever be able to discover what’s there in store for the next moment.
And many at times wonder why something happened and why we found an impossible solution
Once again it happened when, suddenly, during the Mega Auction of IPL 2022, auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on the stage. All present at the event were aghast with shock. The mega event was jeopardised and the IPL management felt clueless about how to deal with the situation.
    BREAKING #IPLMegaAuction2022

Britain's Hugh Edmeades faints out suddenly during live IPL Auction. Hope he is fine . pic.twitter.com/8kiLl6ACbW
    — arun sharma (@arunsharma0603) February 12, 2022
Then IPL chief Brijesh Patel tried his luck and called Charu Sharma to check if he was available. Mystically, Charu, the veteran commentator, presenter and auctioneer was at his home. His home is just a stone’s throw away from ITC Gardenia, the hotel that was the venue for the auction.
Brijesh explained the unfortunate collapse of Hugh and asked Charu if he can take the event forward. Charu agrees and rushes to the venue, consults the telecast team and takes up the auction in his own style of presenting the event in a light, cheerful and timely manner.

The two-day event ended as an extremely successful one. All is well that ends well. However, the way the entire event unfolded was really mystic. Two unfortunate falls led to it. One fall in Bengaluru and another in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The sudden and extremely unfortunate collapse and fall of Hugh Edmeades in Bengaluru created a desperate situation. On the other hand, Charu Sharma's fall in Kathmandu brought the solution to deal with the situation.

A few weeks back, Charu had visited Kathmandu to undertake another auction for a cricket event. It had rained and Charu slipped and fell at the place where he was staying. He hurt his right soldier and had to return to his home in Bengaluru and had to take a break for physiotherapy.
Generally, Charu spends long hours every day playing golf. But due to the ongoing treatment, he has taken a break from golf too. So, on the day of the auction, he was taking rest at his home and that’s how he was available.
Had he gone for the golf session then there was no way that Brijesh Patel could have contacted Charu as the mobile phones do not work at golf courses.
And now for a #CricketTheMusical interlude

Denis Carnahan, the writer and star of Cricket The Musical! joined @AlisonMitchell, @jimmaxcricket & @Charuonsports to explain why cricket lends itself to satire.

So, two falls at two far off places and one mega event. Destiny brings them all together and how.
Someone has so rightly said - “When you want something, the whole universe conspires in order for you to achieve it”.

Wasim Akram, President of Karachi Kings, has detailed his conversation with skipper Babar Azam during the final moments of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL)  season seven match against Multan Sultans.
On 16th February, the former Pakistani skipper was visibly disappointed by Karachi Kings' dismal performance and eight consecutive losses in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), lost his cool and allegedly chastised skipper Babar Azam in the final stages of Wednesday's game against defending champion Multan Sultans.
    what's happening here
Wasim Akram You can't do this with Babar Azam #BabarAzam #KarachiKings #Rizwan#Khushdil Shah pic.twitter.com/qGuJoJl5fB
    — Samra Khan (@cric_girl007) February 16, 2022
Akram could be seen conversing with skipper Babar Azam at the boundary line during the penultimate over of the contest in a video that went popular on social media.
His angry reaction has sparked controversy among cricket fans all over the world and former cricketers, with some claiming that the former captain was enraged by Pakistan's skipper.
The incident occurred after Chris Jordan's last over, which completely transformed the game and awarded the Sultans another victory. With the opposing side needing 29 off the final 12 balls, Khushdil Shah played a sequence of spectacular strokes off Jordan, conceding 20 runs with the left-hander smashing two sixes and one four.
There is one person who needs to be replace that is wasim akram. You cannot disrespectful to the captain of Pakistan team and that too Babar Azam
    — Zee (@zee10q) February 16, 2022This clip is shorter than how a frustrated @wasimakramlive launched into @babarazam258 a tad ungainly. Regardless of merit/performance scales, you just don't berate the national captain in what was a needless public spectacle. #PSL7https://t.co/jsBOyRl0A8https://t.co/s1JdU8BBNa
    — Kamran Rehmat (@kaamyabi) February 17, 2022Pathetic. I wouldn't mind if Babar Azam would've said STFU. It is a pathetic squad and guess what next year babar azam would be in Lahore. https://t.co/g64QBGV3jq

    — NeelumArshad (@NeelumArshad) February 17, 2022 It did not go down well with the online cricket fans, who showed their unhappiness with Akram's behaviour and backed Babar Azam for showing a lot of composure and calmness while being criticised in front of a global audience.
However, a day after the video made it into mainstream media and crores of people were done watching it and creating their opinions around the situation, the 55-year old went on Twitter where he expressed his amazement at these comments.
Hello ! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was ‘why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off’.nothing else . Babar is a wonderful boy and has tried his best. And what he wants for dinner 1/2
    — Wasim Akram (@wasimakramlive) February 17, 2022
Akram revealed that he only queried Babar about the bowlers' intentions because they were not executing and conceding too many runs at the backside. He also praised Babar for giving it his all in the Kings' seven-wicket loss.
"Hello! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was ‘why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off’.nothing else," Wasim tweeted. "Babar is a wonderful boy and has tried his best. And what he wants for dinner," he added.
Upon reading Akram’s reaction, the cricket fandom in both Pakistan and India developed split opinions around the interaction between the two cricketers and the need for Akram to have to share a tweet to the world in which he had to explain himself.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost another Australian star after the team's differences with David Warner saw the explosive opening batter make a dramatic exit from the franchise. Warner was sacked from captaincy midway through the tournament last year and was even left out of the playing XI.
Now, reports have emerged that their new assistant coach Simon Katich too has left the franchise as the team did not stick to their pre-auction tactics.
As per a report in The Australian, Katich decided to leave after a disagreement on how the team was being managed and he also felt that the franchise disregarded the pre-auction plans.
Simon Katich has sensationally quit the IPL franchise coached by his former teammate Tom Moody - six weeks before the season even begins. https://t.co/9T4c86xsqS

The Hyderabad-based franchise has had its differences with Australians as Brad Haddin and Trevor Bayliss also parted ways with SRH.

    — Srav10 (@Srav101) February 18, 2022 One can figure out that Hyderabad's auction tactics went haywire at the IPL 2022 mega auction by looking at their biggest bid that came for Nicholas Pooran. Pooran is an exciting talent but his numbers in last year's IPL weren't that good that he got a Rs 10.75 crore deal.

SRH, after their fallout with Warner last year, finished at the bottom of the points table in IPL 2021. They had retained Kane Williamson and two uncapped Indians in Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.
Even at the recently concluded mega auction, SRH did not pick a single Australian player. Apart from Williamson, their overseas line-up consists of South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand and Afghanistan players.

Wondering what happens next? Well, for that, you'll have to wait for the film's release.
Bachchhan Paandey looks like a full-on masala entertainer and Akshay's intense yet funny character is the highlight of the trailer. Jacqueline, who plays the gangster's love interest, was there only for a few seconds in the clip.

KGF: Chapter 1 was a massive hit among fans of Indian Cinema. So widely appreciated was the film, that it made Yash, the leading man of the film, a rockstar all across India.

    © Hombale Films
It would be an understatement to say then, that people have been waiting for KGF: Chapter 2, rather eagerly. Now though, there are chances that the film may get pushed back yet again.

Even other film producers and actors know just how explosive KGF: Chapter 2 is going to be. So much so, that some big-ticket films starring the who’s who of Indian cinema have had to adjust their release dates just to avoid a potential clash with the film.
    © Hombale Films
KGF: Chapter 2 was all set for a grand release on April 14, 2022, and fans have been assuming that the team will soon kickstart marketing and have been eagerly waiting for the promotional activities to begin.

Now though, according to reports, a source close to the film has revealed that there is a good chance that the release of the film might be delayed.
    © Hombale Films
The issue is, the director of the film, Prashanth Neel, is unhappy with Yash’s introduction song, and is vehement that he wants to reshoot it. In fact, he has already planned out the itinerary and the schedule and is soon set to reshoot the portions.

    © Hombale Films
Music and songs have been vital for the filmmakers to give KGF: Chapter 1 the grand setting it had. KGF: Chapter 2 will not be any different.

Given the importance of the songs and visuals, Neel is said to be not satisfied with the output of Yash’s intro song. It seems the director is not willing to take any chances and will leave no stone unturned to make the film that he wants.
    © Hombale Films
As per a source close to the cinematographers, the song will be shot in Hyderabad over a period of five days and will be choreographed by Harsha.

This isn’t the only sequence that Neel had to reshoot. Earlier, a few of the sequences were tweaked and rewritten and some were completely changed, and then reshot again.
    © Hombale Films
The good news for fans is that the post-production for the rest of the film is all set and in place. Recently, Raveena Tandon finished up her portions of dubbing.

Needless to say, whether the film releases on time, or not, fans certainly have something to look forward to.

India’s fast-bowling department has never been as versatile as the current lot. Thanks to our solid bench strength, today we have backups to our backup pacers.
India’s pace-bowling spearheads Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have not been part of the last couple of home series but it never felt like we were missing them. A bit cruel but true.
    © Reuters
Even without them, India’s pace bowling attack looked just as lethal and the credit goes to champion bowlers like Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj and Deepak Chahar.

Congratulations to @HarshalPatel23 who is set to make his #TeamIndia debut. @Paytm #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/n9IIPXFJQ7

However, there is one fast bowler who often goes under the radar but is equally skilful than the rest of his peers. He might not have that extra yard of pace but he sure does have enough variations in his arsenal to trouble any world-class batter.
    © Reuters
According to legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar, he is a bowler that no batter likes to face because his variations are not easy to pick.

After winning Purple Cap playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in last year’s IPL, the 31-year-old pacer finally broke into the Indian team and made an impact straight away, winning a Player of the Match in his international debut game.
Given how much he has improved as a bowler in the last 12 months, the ‘Little Master’ wasn’t surprised when RCB broke their bank to bring him back to their squad.
Only the 5th player to win the Player of the Match award in their debut men's international game

    Take a bow, Harshal Patel https://t.co/50e13gffxG #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/4wSpsU0htJ
    — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) November 20, 2021
While some experts might have their reservations about Patel’s skillsets being effective on Indian pitches, with smaller boundaries, Gavaskar has a completely different opinion about him. The former India opener holds him in high regard.
“Look he deserves every penny, every rupee that he’s earned at the auction. He put in a fabulous performance last year. And the best part about Harshal Patel is how he has reinvented himself,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports, reflecting on his bumper deal at the IPL 2022 auction.
    © Twitter/IPL
“Earlier, he was a bowler batters were looking to face because he hardly had any change of pace. He was being taken for a lot of runs. He is learning from it, he has improved from that. Now, he is the bowler that batters do not want to face because they don’t know what he is going to bowl.

“He has got a very good yorker. He has got a slower bouncer. He has got a delivery that skids along quite nicely so he has got the works and he knows when to use it because of the experience he has had playing in the IPL for the last few years. He has only got better every year,” he added.
    © Twitter/BCCI
Patel has featured in only three T20Is but has picked up six wickets already. Despite his slow pace, he has emerged as one of India’s best slog-over bowlers in the last 12 months, transforming his shortcomings into his strengths.

If he keeps performing at the same level, there is every chance that he will make it to India's 2022 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played in Australia later this year.

There hasn’t been a more influential figure in Indian cricket than Sachin Tendulkar. The ‘Master Blaster’ ruled the hearts of every Indian cricket fan for nearly a quarter of a century.
In a cricket-mad country like India, living up to people’s expectations is not easy but the Mumbai-born did that exceedingly well throughout his international career that spanned 24 years, starting in 1989 and culminating in 2013.
    © Reuters
The day the world’s leading run-scorer retired from international cricket, it was a sad day for all of us – not just in India all over the world.

Most of us had grown up watching him play cricket and the very thought that we would not be able to see arguably the world’s greatest cricketer don the India jersey ever again had made all of us pretty emotional.
    © Reuters
As much difficult it was for us, it was equally painful for the legend himself. After all, he was walking away from one thing that had formed an important part of his life all these years.

Recalling the emotions he went through on the day of his retirement back in 2013, the 48-year-old said that it was hard for him to control his emotions and tears kept flowing down his eyes, while he was sitting inside the dressing room.
    © Reuters
Not just us fans, it was an emotional day for the whole team, especially those young players who had started playing cricket because of him.

One such player who was lucky enough to share the dressing room with him in his last match was Virat Kohli.
During an interaction with Graham Bensinger on his YouTube channel, the former India opener said that sitting in a corner with a towel on his head, he was wiping his tears and that is when Kohli came to him and gave him a sacred thread that his late father had given him.

“I was sitting in one corner alone with a towel on my head and wiping tears and I was really emotional. And at that time, Virat had come to me and Virat gave me the sacred thread that his father had given him,” Tendulkar said during the candid chat.
It was a wonderful gesture from young Kohli but given what it meant to him, Tendulkar said he just couldn’t take it as it was given to him by his late father as a blessing.
    © Reuters
“And I kept that for a while and then returned that to him again. I said, ‘This is priceless and this has to stay with you and no one else. This is your property. And you should have it till your last breath.’ And I gave it back to him. So that was an emotional moment, something which will be always there in my memory, forever,” he added.

It was the most valuable possession Kohli had with him, and the fact that he was willing to part with that just goes on show how much respect and admiration he had for the legendary batter.
