Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is usually known for his kind-hearted, forever warm superstar persona, besides being a legend.
He has seldom lost his cool in public and has shown no outright angst when it comes to gossip pieces written about him. However, as they say, we all have our limits and it looks like SRK also had his limit tested way back in 1992, when a piece of news written on him angered him to no end and left him furious.
View this post on Instagram
A scandalous news piece written about him and his Maya Memsaab co-star Deepa Shahi claimed that he apparently 'spent the night' with her, and the actor later threatened the editor and reportedly hurled abuses at him.
According to Anupama Chopra’s book King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, the intimate scenes between SRK and Deepa Shahi were filmed under the guidance and the presence of her husband Ketan Mehta.
The book mentions that a magazine journalist published a scandalous story that Ketan asked his wife Deepa to spend a night with SRK in order to get comfortable with him.
SRK assumed it was a journalist named Keith who wrote this piece and he ended up threatening him after being fuelled with anger.
When SRK appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, he mentioned this incident as well. “I got very angry and I called up the editor and I said, ‘You wrote this’. He said 'but listen, can you just take it… it’s just a joke'. 'I don’t find it funny' I said and so, I went down to the office and I misbehaved a lot," he said.
Talking about the arrest, he quipped “I was shooting a film and the cops came. They sat down very sweetly and said, ‘we have a few questions to ask you’ I said, ‘do you want me to pack and we can chat in my car?’ Because I always assume anyone who meets me is a fan. They said, no, we want you to come in our car!” he laughed.
While SRK got bail, he explained that he later called the editor and said “Now I’m in jail, and I’m not scared. Now you are very scared.”
Eventually, he found out that the journalist was not the guy he thought so he personally went and apologised.
Well, that’s what we love about SRK, his humility and his humble nature and not being afraid to show his flawed side as well.

Indian music legend Bappi Lahiri passed away on 15th February 2022 after succumbing to a sleep-related breathing disorder. The singer and music composer was a fan favourite due to his contributions to music for the past 50 years and of course, his glam sense of style.
Bappi da was more than just any other music icon, he was also admired for his effervescent personality as well as his distinct look. Yes, you know the one we’re talking about.
© Instagram/Bappi Lahiri
It’s almost impossible to imagine the Jalpaiguri native sans the gold chains that adorned his neck. In a country that prefers to have its singers adopt a simpler demeanour, Bappi Lahiri chose to be extravagant.
And his maximalist lifestyle extended to the tunes he created as well, with catchy hooks and heavy synth bass providing the bedrock to some of his biggest hits across the year years.
His relevance to global music can never be underestimated. In fact, some of the world’s biggest musicians looked up to Bappi da as a peer beyond any need of recognition, such was his impact worldwide.
© Instagram/Bappi Lahiri
Musical superstars such as Akon and Lady Gaga were some of the international talents who had worked with and admired Bappi Lahiri’s music.
Sri-Lankan rap artist MIA had also sampled ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ for her 2007 album Kala, and the same song had even featured in Adam Sandler’s 2008 cult classic Don't Mess With The Zohan.
Needless to say, his impact was felt far and wide.
However, one of his biggest fans was none other than the late legendary prince of pop - Michael Jackson.
During MJ’s 1996 visit to India, he had a chance encounter with India’s disco-king, where the latter humbly introduced himself as a “music composer”. Recalling the incident on an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, Bappi da had said, “Jab woh Bombay mein aaye the, main ek jagah pe baitha tha. Michael Jackson aaye aur mera yeh gold chain, Ganpati wala, unko bohot nazar aaya. Unhone bola, ‘Oh my God, fantastic! What’s your name?’ Maine kaha Bappi Lahiri (When he came to Mumbai, I was sitting somewhere. He came up to me and noticed my gold chain with a Lord Ganesha pendant. He said, ‘Oh my God, fantastic! What’s your name?’ I introduced myself).”

He further elaborated on their conversation, “‘You’re a composer?’ I said, ‘Yes, I have done Disco Dancer.’ Jaise hi Disco Dancer bola, woh bole (As soon as I said Disco Dancer, he said), ‘I like your song Jimmy Jimmy’,” he had added.
While Bappi da initially had considered parting with the Ganesha chain, however, he decided otherwise as it was his lucky charm.
He said, “But then I thought, he has everything, whereas I have only this gold that is lucky for me. There was one more thing — I was born in Kolkata but it is the soil of Maharashtra that gave me its blessing. If I gave Michael the Ganesh, then maybe the blessing would leave me too.”
Bappi Lahiri was truly one of a kind, and there won’t ever be another like him.

England Cricket is currently going through a rough patch, be it their men's team or women's side.
England failed to register a single win in their recent trip to Australia as they lost the five-match Ashes series 0-4. After getting a drubbing by the Aussies, few England experts had suggested that it was the Indian Premier League (IPL) that led to the downfall of English cricket.
A new name has joined the same bandwagon, former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur.
Arthur, who was with the Sri Lankan team recently, said that in order to get better results in the longest format of the game, England must ask its players to stop participating in the IPL.
BREAKING: Chris Silverwood has been sacked as England men's head coach following their 4-0 Ashes series defeat pic.twitter.com/N1MrfsIOm2
— ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) February 3, 2022
“England haven’t scored enough runs. It’s as simple as that. If you want to lay the blame, you can lay it right there. County cricket isn’t to blame. For so long county cricket has been a really good producer of international players. I don’t think there’s a problem with the system … If you want the strength early season, unfortunately, you are going to have to stop the players going to the IPL," News18 quoted Mickey Arthur as saying to The Times.
Arthur has recently joined Derbyshire as their head coach and it is obvious that he would speak highly of England's domestic system that has been under the scanner for a long time.
JUST IN: The Test series against West Indies will be Mickey Arthur's last assignment as Sri Lanka coach.
He is set to join Derbyshire as Head of Cricket pic.twitter.com/NFovGW0ZrD
— ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) November 17, 2021 Indian fans, however, did not spare the former coach of Pakistan and bashed him for having a go at the IPL.
We feel your pain England. IPL is doing it's bit by not even bidding for Morgan, Rashid, Malan. Now go and win the urn. https://t.co/16rXws8X9Z
— cricBC (@cricBC) February 16, 2022Bairstow scored the only hundred in the Ashes, didn't he ? He is a regular in the IPL.
At least 5 of that English starting XI have never played in the IPL. https://t.co/s8dy09JiEc
— Udit (@udngrChels) February 16, 2022I suggest eng team to stop playing cricket for a while https://t.co/hE2gVKMbWn
— Kushal Vaidya (@KushalVaidya11) February 16, 2022Hahaha IPL’s the root of all evil…The 100 is god’s own blessing to this world!!! https://t.co/bbokYEMzoL
— samir singh (@samirksingh) February 16, 2022Stop participating in IPL but keep playing tHe hUndReD. Absolute Clown https://t.co/iUwQeCv8mD
— Majnu Bhai (@TenShagger) February 16, 2022 Just to add up on how wrong Arthur is about the English domestic system and blaming IPL for England's debacle in Test cricket, former England cricketers like Kevin Pietersen, Michael Vaughan and others have already criticised the County cricket setup that has failed to produce quality cricketers.
Most of the England Test players including their skipper Joe Root have not played in any of the IPL seasons yet. Only Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow were part of the Test squad who have participated in the IPL and Buttler and Bairstow both performed exceptionally well in their trip to Down Under.

— Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) January 7, 2022
If anything, England players have benefited from playing in the IPL as their white-ball squad has reached new heights ever since the command of the limited-overs side was given to Eoin Morgan, who was a regular in the IPL.

Amid the Hijab controversy that is going around, Swara Bhasker extended her support in favour of a women’s choice of clothing and wrote, “shameful state of affairs.”
Later, in another tweet, she mentioned “महाभारत में द्रौपदी के जबरन कपड़े उतारे गए थे.. और सभा में बैठे ज़िम्मेदार, शक्तिशाली, क़ानून बनाने वाले देखते रहे.. ऐसे ही आज याद आया। (In Mahabharata, Draupadi's clothes were forcibly taken off.. and the responsible, powerful, law-makers sitting in the assembly kept watching.. just remembered today.)”

#AThursday - Next Day of 'A Wednesday'
Movie is sure engaging in it's initial portions but soon turns predictable and doesn't offer the needed thrills especially in latter half... Climax 👍

Despite Rohit Sharma’s explosive start to India’s run chase in the first T20I against Kieron Pollard’s West Indies, there was a period where the visitors clawed back into the game through their spinners.
After Rohit got out in the eighth over, the Indian batters struggled to free their arms. His opening partner Ishan Kishan somehow managed to score 35 off 42 balls but he never looked comfortable in the middle.
View this post on InstagramFormer skipper Virat Kohli got a decent start (17 off 13 balls) but he also got out trying to play an attacking shot. The Men In Blue were left in a state of bother after losing three wickets in quick succession, with Kishan, Kohli and Rishabh Pant marching back to the pavilion one after the other.
The scoring run-rate which was almost 10 in the first six overs dropped down to around six and seven runs per over in that phase and one could see the frustration on the faces of Indian players sitting in the dugout when things started to get closer and closer.
View this post on InstagramThere was a lot to be done and India found their heroes in Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer. Both players, despite being fairly new to international cricket, rose to the occasion and played quite a mature knock to guide India home.
Great to see SuryaKumar Yadav & Venkatesh Iyer making the match from difficult condition.!One of those things where India need to do well to win T20 world cup.!!#INDvWI
— Deep Point (@Cric_spidey) February 16, 2022
We all expected SKY to bail India out of trouble but it was Venkatesh Iyer’s first major knock for the national team and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Being the senior pro, Surya made sure that he pushed the KKR all-rounder to approach his innings ball and ball and not to lose his wicket playing a rash shot.
View this post on InstagramThe video has gone viral on social networking sites where Yadav can be heard motivating the youngster to stay focused and to finish the game off for the team.
At the start of the 18th over, India required 19 runs to overhaul the Windies total of 157. This is when SKY the stump mic caught him using a cuss word to motivate the southpaw to finish off the game.
pic.twitter.com/aq54dBrDtN
— Sports Hustle (@SportsHustle3) February 16, 2022
“Venky b*****d game jitana hai (Venky…you have to win us the game),” the 31-year-old was caught saying in the stump mic at the non-striker’s end.
Suryakumar's use of local slang to cheer on his batting partner left the fans in splits. But some fans didn’t like the cuss words.
“Game jitana wagerah theek hai... Gaali kyun bak raha hai! (winning the game is okay, why is he abusing)” a fan commented.
Game jitana wagerah theek hai... Gaali kyun bak raha hai!

— KOPPALA CAMMILLUS (@KOPPALACAMMILL1) February 17, 2022Suryakumar’s international career might be only seven ODIs and 12 T20Is but the middle-order batter has already shown that he has a great head on his shoulders.

It may have started with fashion trends and moved up to health and fitness, but in today’s time, Bollywood does more than just normalize and promote a flashy lifestyle anymore.
Yes, there was a time when all people would pick from celebrities were dialogues or their wardrobe choices, but things have changed now. And for the better, too.
© Anushka Sharma
Celebrities have now begun to normalize taboo subjects like men taking paternity leave to tend to their newborn child and the ones who kickstarted the trend here were celebrity couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli.
© Parag Agarwal
Turns out, they’re not alone in it either, for following their lead is Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal who has also recently announced that he will be taking 'weeks long' paternal leave to welcome his second child.
A decision that was fully supported by actress Anushka Sharma, who herself along with husband Virat Kohli, has faced the brunt of society stereotyping men into not taking paternity leaves.
Anushka urged the importance of normalising men having emotions and doing what they feel is right, without the fear of being judged and going against the norms of society.
© Anushka Sharma
Taking to her Instagram handle, Anushka Sharma posted a snippet of Parag Agrawal’s news only to write in the caption, ‘About time this is normalised!" And boy do we agree!
Thank you @paraga for leading by example and taking paternity leave. I wish leaders did this when I was early in my career and becoming a father. We have 7500 people @twitter who have your back! https://t.co/MzDEtwCxOL
— Ned Segal (@nedsegal) February 16, 2022
And not just Anushka Sharma, a lot of other fellow dads too jumped on the bandwagon to hail Parag’s decision.
Ned Segal, Twitter’s chief financial officer wrote, “Thank you @paraga for leading by example and taking paternity leave. I wish leaders did this when I was early in my career and becoming a father. We have 7500 people @twitter who have your back!”
Brenden Lee of Twitter’s corporate communications department also wrote, “Proud that Twitter and our CEO Parag Agrawal are leading the way here, ensuring ALL parents are able to take advantage of this most special time for their families.”
Even though Virat Kohli, at the time of taking his paternity leave, received a lot of flak from trolls. , it is heartening to see so many people support Parag’s choice of taking a few weeks off.
