Virat Kohli will be playing his first One-Day International under Rohit Sharma's captaincy ever since he relinquished the captaincy duties across formats, as India are set to take on the West Indies in a three-match ODI series, starting February 6, Saturday.
Kohli, who had stepped down as the skipper in the T20I format, was removed as captain from the 50-over format and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Rohit as his successor.
In a recent interview, Kohli had himself said that he doesn't believe that a person needs the tag of a captain to be a leader among the group. With his statement, the 33-year-old had hinted that senior players in the team are already involved in the decision-making process.

"You do not need to be a captain to be the leader. When MS Dhoni was in the team, it was not like he was not the leader, he was still the guy from whom we wanted to have inputs. To win or not win is not in your hands, the striving for excellence and to be better every day, is not something you can do short term. When it comes to a culture, it will last beyond your playing years and your responsibility,” Kohli had said.

Echoing the words of ex-India captain, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan said Kohli will help the new captain Rohit Sharma 'do the right thing' on the field.
“He is not the captain, but as long as he is in the team, he is a leader,” the former India all-rounder said. “He will help the new captain to do the right thing,” Irfan was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

Irfan credited Kohli for taking Team India's fitness to another level and highlighted the different traits Kohli and Rohit have as leaders.
"He (Kohli) sent out the right messages and he took the team’s fitness to another level. Going forward, I am sure he will help out others, especially Rohit Sharma. Every captain contributes in unique fashion. Kohli had his energy, Rohit will give you calmness,” he added.
Under Kohli, India qualified for the Champions Trophy final in 2017, World Cup semi-final in 2019 and World Test Championship last year but failed to go the distance on all three occasions.
Really happy for the @BLACKCAPS. They stayed on top throughout the game. Their bowlers were outstanding especially Kyle Jamieson! Well fought to @imVkohli and his men too, it was an engrossing battle. NZ continues to be the bogey team for India at ICC events.. #WTCFinal pic.twitter.com/YrMdegu2e4

In terms of numbers, Kohli's record as Test captain is better than any other Indian player who has led the team in the longest format of the game.
Kohli captained India in 68 Tests and led the side to a win in 40 matches. It was under his leadership when India registered their first-ever Test series win in Australia.
With a new era set to begin in Indian cricket, as cricket fans, it would be fitting to see all the controversies surrounding Indian cricket being put to bed and players letting their performances do the talking.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and this is his first collaboration with Alia Bhatt who plays the titular role. The movie has been adapted from one of the chapters of Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
The movie stars Alia as Gangubai Kothewali, a gun-wielding and one of the most powerful, loved, and respected brothel owners of Kamathipura brothel during the 1960s. Sold into prostitution very young, Gangubai became influential in the city, with notorious criminals serving as her clients.
The makers have dropped the trailer of the movie and people are already calling it a blockbuster. The recently launched trailer promises a spectacular cinematic experience. The film will have its much-awaited world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film is all set to release theatrically on February 25, 2022.
    Here’s the trailer:

As people have already watched the trailer, they are anxiously waiting for its release. Here are 5 reasons why we and the viewers think that it’s worth a watch:
    1. Alia Bhatt’s Acting  View this post on Instagram
For those who thought Alia Bhatt wasn’t the right fit for the role after watching the teaser, she proved all of them wrong and said it out loud that she is the only one who could play the role of Gangubai with conviction. Her expressions and dialogues are just on point.
    2. Vijay Raaz’s Tadka   © YouTube
If you have seen the trailer, you know Vijay Raaz’s acting is one of the most important highlights of the movie. He is a criminally underrated actor but whenever he is on the screen, he literally owns it.

    3. Ajay Devgn’s Cameo  View this post on Instagram
In the trailer, we also got to see a few glimpses of Ajay’s powerful presence and people are looking forward to watching him share screen with Alia Bhatt.
    4. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Magic  In 25 glorious years, the director has given something new and spectacular with every story and Gangubai Kathiawadi is taking his magic a notch higher. It’s impeccable as to how he has presented the story with grandeur.
    5. Dialogues and Story  As it’s a real story about a powerful woman who fought for the rights of the children of *** workers, the dialogues had to be strong and the makers haven’t disappointed at all.

    Bollywood is going South!
No, no! By this, we don't mean that the industry has something to worry about.
What we really mean to say is that Bollywood is literally going all out for collaborating with South Indian cinema.
As seen in recent years, the quality and overall reach of South Indian films have left people completely astounded.
I mean, you need only look at the examples of films like Pushpa, Baahubali series, and others to know that the directors and actors from the South Indian film industry are really on a roll at the moment.

Friday seems to have started on an interesting note for movie buffs. With an exciting line-up of OTT releases scheduled for the weekend, the road has begun with Netflix India’s latest offering, Loop Lapeta, a ‘desi’ remake of Run Lola Run. Starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, this movie follows a girl trying to save her boyfriend while fighting a loop of dead ends.

The movie is an experiment to move beyond the traditional boundaries of experimental cinema and the audience reactions are already pouring in for the film. The reactions seem to be pretty divided, and that is actually expected, given the fact that a lot of people don’t like or enjoy a different kind of aesthetic this movie offers.
#Taapsee ko 10 minute se jyada jhela nhi ja sakta chacha... Mujhe nhi pta konse director producers hai ye jo issey main lead de dete hai itne acche actor ke hote hue bhi. #LoopLapeta
    — Shubham Sharma (@shubhaihum) February 3, 2022Five minutes into #LoopLapeta and that irritating music is worse than Mahua Moitra's rants.
    — Secular Buffalo (@SecularBuffalo) February 4, 2022Please bring good stuff...I wasn't even able to bear promo of #LoopLapeta
    — Mrunal bajaj (@impatientsoul11) February 4, 2022#LoopLapeta is a attempt bro make comedy but falls massively... Full of overacting and screenplay, direction etc.. what a waste of time #netflix ?
    — Anish Verma (@AnishVe68121377) February 4, 2022There are some people who have obviously enjoyed the good combination of strong acting mixed with an interesting plot and foot-tapping music.
#LoopLapeta is the exact chaotic comedy it promised to be through the trailer! An adaptation of #RunLolaRun done so well (we all saw the ode there)
It’s strongest quality has to be its cinematography, colour palette and sound design!
The duo of Appu & Gappu stole the show ️ pic.twitter.com/GNchbsfLUe
    — ANMOL JAMWAL (@jammypants4) February 4, 2022Loop Lapeta released on Netflix. Its a remake of Run Lola Run. The fluoroscent colours, the bizzare plot and a foot tapping soundtrack make it a must watch. Tapasee has hardly disappointed with her choices and Tahir is good as ever.#Netflix #LoopLapeta
    — Edittable (@Poulami06929517) February 4, 2022And your performance in #LoopLapeta is even more beautiful than it. Super Excited to see it
    — Tamoghna Das (@Tamoghna0709Das) February 2, 2022 Well, like they say, ‘public hai, sab jaanti hai’. Is the movie on your watch list for the weekend?

The year 2022 hasn’t been off to a great start for one man, in particular, and that is the (in)famous panellist on the reality show Shark Tank India, who ever since his debut on television, has been in the kind of limelight that isn’t all too great.
We are talking about the barrage of rumours that were stirred up about the BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, who was allegedly accused after an audio-clip went viral.
    © Ashneer Grover
Word had been going around that the fintech maestro abused and threatened a Kotak Mahindra Bank employee, over which the bank had also pressed charges over him and his wife, Madhuri. Amidst this, rumours of fraud were also making rounds, putting Ashneer Grover plum in the middle of one controversy after another.

This is going to be most watched corporate battle before the IPO launch, @Ashneer_Grover being arm twisted in his own company for Exit.Indian Startup #SteveJobExitfromAppleMoment https://t.co/ESRWnnDBhr
    — Gaurav Sahai (@imGSahai) February 4, 2022
And while people on social media had a lot to say, it is only now that Ashneer made a statement on the matter.
While talking to MoneyControl, Ashneer denied connection to any audio clip and said, “It is not me, my voice, nothing. I've never participated in any such conversation. There are a lot of people who are very jealous in the market. It's like saying how can someone become so successful and create such amazing businesses within such a short span of time, while we have been at it for 10 years, 12 years. That jealousy has unfolded into this large conspiracy.” He claimed that the audio clip was fake.

As far as theories about why he went on voluntary leave were concerned, Ashneer went on to say that he was 'arm-twisted' into doing it.

He opened up on the matter and said, “What is this sending on temporary leave of absence? What is this concept? Where is it defined? It is not defined in my SHA (shareholder agreement). It is not defined in the employment contract. Where does this come from?”
"I have created value for him, real value not paper value," says @Ashneer_Grover on CEO Suhail Sameer. "I am the fittest guy to lead the company," he adds.

    — Moneycontrol (@moneycontrolcom) February 4, 2022
Alleging Suhail Sameer as one to manipulate him into making this decision, Ashneer Grover commented, “That idea was forced into my head basis misrepresentations from Suhail and Sumeet Singh, in connivance with investors so that they can otherwise achieve what they wouldn’t have been able to. All of them sided with investors and said you should go."
In fact, as of now, Ashneer has also written to the Board seeking to remove the current CEO Suhail Sameer from the fintech firm’s board.
He wrote, “I, now, in exercise of the power vested in me by Clause 3.7 of the SHA and Clause 91.7 of the AoA do hereby withdraw, my nomination of Suhail Sameer as a Director nominated by me to the Board of Directors of the Company,” in a note to the board.
