    India, led by Yash Dhull, will take on England in the Under-19 World Cup final on Saturday, and ahead of the summit clash, the team interacted with former India captain Virat Kohli, who lifted the Under-19 World Cup trophy back in 2008. 
    Kohli’s journey also began from the Under-19 World Cup as he led the Indian team to a win in the final against South Africa. 
    The members of the current lot were happy to talk to their idol ahead of the all-important Under-19 World Cup final.

    Bowling all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar and spinner Kaushal Tambe took to Instagram to share screenshots of their virtual meeting with Kohli. 

    The meeting was also attended by India’s Under-19 head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar. 
    “It was really good to interact with you virat kohli bhaiyya. Learnt some important things about life and cricket from you which will help us in getting better in upcoming times,” Rajvardhan Hangargekar wrote on his Instagram stories.

    “Some valuable tips from the GOAT before the final,” wrote spinner Kaushal Tambe.

    Fans were happy to see Kohli taking time out for the Boys in Blue and lauded the former India captain for sharing his journey with the Under-19 team ahead of their final.

    — Sayanth (@Sayanth_rajith) February 3, 2022 Earlier, there were reports that some of the players from the senior team found it difficult to approach Kohli when he was the captain of the Indian team, but Kohli’s gesture for the youngsters has definitely put these rumours to rest.  
    The Indian under-19 team has played some good cricket and outclassed sides like Australia and the defending champions Bangladesh en route to the final. 
    Kohli had interacted with the under-19 squad before the 2017 World Cup as well and we all saw how his words did the trick for Prithvi Shaw-led Team India in New Zealand.
    We hope that Yash Dhull, who is also from Delhi like Kohli, can emulate what Kohli did in 2008 and goes on to become a household name in Indian cricket just like his statemate.

    When it comes to the Indian Premier League teams interacting with their fans on social media and sharing interesting content for their followers to enjoy, Rajasthan Royals are right at the top of the points table.
    However, even the best of the best end up screwing their work at times and it was one such moment for the OGs on Thursday when their new social media engagement technique failed miserably and became a source of hundreds of memes from all over the country.

    In an attempt to talk directly with the fans, the Royals shared a WhatsApp number from their Twitter handle, asking people to reply to it by typing “hi” in the chatbox. The goal was the take the user through a series of questions related to the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The people who get the most predictions right were set to win match-day jerseys.
    While the whole campaign worked for a few people who shared their conversations with “the team” on Twitter, most of the fans who responded to their tweet were disappointed and bugged by the fact that the automated process wasn’t working for them.

Even the most dedicated of fans tried to participate multiple times but when they were convinced that they wouldn’t be able to be a part of the campaign, they simply started venting their frustrations at the ill-programmed chatbot.

They have only managed to make it to the playoffs three more times (2013, 2015, 2018) and have gone back to scraping the bottom of the IPL points table ever since. 
    Despite making the most expensive buy during the 2021 IPL auction in South Africa’s Chris Morris for a whopping Rs. 16.25 crore, it did little to no impact on their performance and they were once again placed second-last by the end of the regular season.
    Having said that, with the entire league practically hitting reset and some of the biggest names of the game available at the mega auction which is scheduled to take place on 12-13 February, the franchise is definitely expected to make some big buys and reclaim their top spot as they did back in 2008.

    After the setback in South Africa, former India selector Madan Lal has questioned Venkatesh Iyer's reliability. He has questioned his skills as an allrounder, despite the fact that he has been hailed as a suitable alternative for Hardik Pandya. The 27-year-old, according to Lal, has not impressed as a finisher or as a bowler capable of bowling more than 2-3 overs.
    “If batting at No. 5 or 6, I don’t think he will be too successful. I saw his bowling too. Even that wasn’t impressive. I think he can only bowl 2-3 overs at maximum. He hasn’t even worked on his bowling. If you think that he can fit into the team as an all-rounder then it is very difficult to him. The only position you can try him at is the opening position,” Lal, a former India coach, said on Aaj Tak.

    Venkatesh Iyer has kept his spot in the India team, although he has been given the door in ODIs following the South African debacle. With Ravindra Jadeja in the wings awaiting his return, he needs to perform to maintain his spot. In two appearances against South Africa, Iyer scored 2 and 22 runs while bowling only once. In the second match, he only bowled 5 overs. 
    Touted as one of the greatest finds of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League, Iyer had made his India debut as a part of the T20I roster against New Zealand at Eden Gardens. During his time in the middle of the series, he smashed an unbeaten 12 and 20 and his bowling stats were 1/12.

    Having said that, Iyer may be just getting the opportunity of a lifetime to create the image of himself as a dominating all-rounder ahead of the ODI series against the West Indies. The Covid-19 virus has devastated the Indian camp. Eight members of Team India have tested positive for the virus, including Shikhar Dhawan. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, and Navdeep Saini have been ruled out of the first ODI. Furthermore, KL Rahul is also unavailable for the match as he will be busy attending the marriage of his sister at the time.
    As a result, Coach Rahul Dravid may have a ready-made choice in Venkatesh Iyer to fill the void and have him open the Indian batting innings with Team India captain Rohit Sharma. In the absence of Dhawan and Rahul, the Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder might fill in as the franchise's opener in the 2021 IPL.
