    The Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction is less than two weeks away and all the franchises have started finalising their strategies for the crazy two-day event.
    A total of 1,214 players will go under the hammer on February 12 and 13 as 10 franchises look to acquire the services of some of the finest cricketers from across the globe.

    Ahead of the auction, the eight existing teams were given the option of retaining a maximum of four players, while the two new auditions Lucknow Super Giants and unnamed Ahmedabad franchises have added three players each to their roster from the draft.

    While franchises like Punjab Kings (PBKS) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) would look to build their squad from the scratch having retained only one capped player, most of the other franchises would be looking to build a formidable squad around their core group of players.

    With only Rs 47.5 crores left to spend, Delhi Capitals (DC) have the lowest purse, while PBKS have the biggest purse of Rs 72 crores.

    History tells us that all-rounders and fast bowlers are always in huge demand at the auction and teams don’t shy away from spending big to acquire their desired players.

    Given there are only four overseas slots in the Playing XI, most franchises spend huge money to sign top Indian fast bowlers and we expect this same trend to continue this year as well.

    Deepak Chahar was a crucial part of Chennai Super Kings for the last three years. Known for his seam and swing, Chahar made a mark for himself bowling the tough overs in the Powerplay. He doesn’t have express pace but has great control over his line and length and that’s his USP.
    Apart from his bowling skills, Chahar has also proven his calibre with the bat. In his last two ODI innings, he not only picked up wickets but also scored two half-centuries. At the moment, there aren’t many Indian players who can fulfil the dual role of a new-ball bowler and also use the long handle batting lower down the order.

    IPL 2020 was a breakout season for T Natarajan. His heroics for the SRH earned him a place in the Indian team and he became the first player to make his all three debuts (T20I, ODI and Test) on the same tour.
    He missed last year’s IPL first due to a combination of reasons and he would be itching to make a comeback in style. Natarajan is one of the best slog overs bowlers in the country and is known for his toe-crushing yorkers. Bowlers like him are the most sought after and I have no doubt that he would fetch a huge sum at the auction.

    Shardul Thakur is another Indian fast bowler who can be easily categorised as an all-rounder. He has been a constant part of the Indian team in the last couple of years and performed exceedingly well with both bat and ball.
    From knuckle ball to back-of-the-hand leg-cutters, Thakur has plenty of variations in his arsenal. In his short international career, he has scored some crucial fifties for the Indian team, proving his mettle with the bat. His all-round ability is what makes him one of the most sought after players in the auction.

    Avesh Khan had a breakthrough season last year with Delhi Capitals as he picked up 24 wickets in 16 outings – finishing second in the Purple Cap race. Khan has been part of the IPL since 2017 but he struggled to get game time. However, things changed for the pacer last year and he repaid the trust shown in him by the franchise.
    He then got his first senior exposure as he travelled with the Indian team to England and South Africa as a backup bowler. He is one of the fastest pacers in the country, who bowls in excess of 140kmph on a consistent basis. Not just pace, he also has terrific yorkers in his kitty.

    How many bowlers can defend four runs off the final over of a T20 match? Well not many. Kartik Tyagi did the unthinkable against Punjab Kings during last year’s IPL when he conceded only one run in the final over while defending four runs off the last six balls.

    Virat Kohli has kept himself away from the spotlight ever since he relinquished the Test captaincy after India’s series defeat in South Africa. 
    Kohli put out a statement on social media and did not interact with the media after stepping down as India skipper in the longest format of the game.
    And now, the prolific India batter has spoken on captaincy for the first time since vacating his leadership duties across all formats.

    Kohli, on an episode of Fireside Chat with Virat Kohli, said that everything has a ‘tenure and time period’ and as an individual, you have to be aware of it.

    “See, I think firstly you need to have a complete understanding of what you set out to achieve and whether you have achieved those targets or not. Everything has a tenure and time period, so you have to be aware of it. As a batter, you might be able to give more to the team, so take pride in that,” Kohli said. 
    The former captain also said that one doesn’t need a label of captaincy to be a leader within a team. Indicating that senior players are automatically involved in the decision-making process in Team India.

    “You do not need to be a captain to be the leader. When MS Dhoni was in the team, it was not like he was not the leader, he was still the guy from whom we wanted to have inputs. To win or not win is not in your hands, the striving for excellence and to be better every day, is not something you can do short term. When it comes to a culture, it will last beyond your playing years and your responsibility,” he added.
    While Kohli’s stance on captaincy speaks volumes of the kind of maturity he has reached during his stint as the captain of the side and playing alongside his idol MS Dhoni. Some fans just could not stop themselves from having an unnecessary go at the former skipper. 
    Soon after Kohli’s comments went viral, people started bashing him for his take on the captaincy after stepping down from the leadership role.

    Team ups are the newest thing in films these days!

    Whether it's the superhero team-up seen in Marvel Studios Avengers film series or the Spider-Man team-up seen in the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, filmmakers have realized that bringing an ensemble cast actually works.
    Bollywood too has started making use of this formula with the latest Rohit Shetty team-up of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh in last year's Sooryavanshi cop-universe film.

    Well, according to reports, this is just the start of things!

    Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan will be the last actor to join other superstars in what would be another Bollywood universe film.
    According to Pinkvilla, Hrithik, who starred in War alongside Tiger Shroff, will now join Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in what would be a spy universe film series.
    As you already know, Salman has his own spy franchise by the name of Tiger and Shah Rukh will be seen with him in his own Pathan film, which is also a spy movie.
    As per Pinkvilla sources, Hrithik might be seen in Pathan or Tiger 3.
    “For all those who know what’s in the script of Pathan and Tiger 3 can tell authentically that Hrithik Roshan’s character Kabir was never supposed to be meet Pathan or Tiger in any of these films. Aditya Chopra is strategically building his spy franchise and the moment when Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan will meet each other as Tiger, Pathan and Kabir will be only post WAR 2.     The Aditya Chopra spy universe could be a fairly amazing film franchise as it has a lot of firepower in Salman, SRK, Katrina Kaif, and Deepika Padukone.

    Moreover, according to the source, Hrithik, Salman, and SRK coming together, could be an 'Avengers Endgame' moment for the film.

    Last year, Netflix’s South Korean drama Squid Game garnered immense popularity and turned out to be a massive global hit. It was also one of the best-reviewed popular shows on the OTT platform with a score of 94 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.  
    Well, move over Squid Game, as Netflix has delivered another South Korean stunner titled All Of Us Are Dead. The zombie horror series has gone a notch higher than Squid Game in terms of appreciation and has scored a perfect 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

    Released on January 28, the series is already number 1 in most of the countries around the world and is also trending on the top spot in India. 

    Based on the 2009 Webtoons graphic novel of the same name, the official description of the show reads, “At a high school in a suburban city, a student with strange symptoms is discovered. A mysterious virus begins to spread, and it quickly spirals out of control, moving beyond the school to seep into every nook and cranny of the entire city. As more and more people become infected, the authorities declare a state of emergency. They place the city under a lockdown amid an unprecedented event: the spread of a deadly zombie virus throughout a school and beyond.     If you ever thought the Fast & Furious movies weren't crazy enough, well, you're in for a surprise!

    According to reports, our beloved Aquaman Jason Momoa is the latest big Hollywood star to join the cast of Fast & Furious 10.

    While the script for the latest movie is still in the works, Universal Pictures announced the addition of Jason as the newest member of the Fast & Furious 'Family'.

    While the addition is definitely great news for the Fast franchise, it is unclear whether Jason's role will be that of a protagonist or antagonistic in nature, or maybe both.
    According to reports, the Fast franchise chose Jason after losing out on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.
    Dwayne was an integral part of the Fast & Furious franchise, however, he left the series due to differences with star actor Vin Diesel.
    Earlier, Vin, who plays the role of Dom Toretto had requested Dwayne to return to the franchise, however, to his surprise, Dwayne declined the offer.

    Jason, who recently starred in The Dune, will now join Vin along with the rest of the cast members that including Sung Kang, Chris ‘Ludacris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Michelle Rodriguez.

    According to reports, Jason wrapped the shooting of the Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, last year.

    He will also star in Slumberland, an epic fantasy that is based on the Winsor McCay comic strip from the early 20th century.

    Over the years, the grand Fast & Furious movies have been known to bring in big stars with Johnson, Jason Statham, and John Cena, and Helen Mirren already starring in the movies.
    It is reported that Charlize Theron, who had appeared in The Fate of the Furious, will also be back for the film.
    So far, it is unclear whether there would be any more big-name additions to the movie. 
    As per reports, Fast 10 will start shooting in the spring with Universal currently setting a 2023 release for the movie.
