    The second most successful franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has become the first sports enterprise in the country to achieve unicorn status.
    The defending IPL champions achieved this historic status as the franchise achieved the market cap of over $1 billion in the private equity market.

    The Chennai-based outfit reached an all-time high of Rs 7,600 crores and became the most valuable sports company in the country.
    In doing so, the MS Dhoni -led side, which won its fourth IPL title last year, also surpassed its parent entity India Cements, owned by former BCCI president N Srinivasan.

    As the name suggests the parent company is involved in cement manufacturing and its market cap on Friday stood at Rs 6,869 crores – over Rs 700 crores less than Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL).
    Srinivasan who bought the franchise way back in 2008 for just $91 million always knew that given the craze of cricket in our country CSK would become a bigger brand than its parent company at some point in time.

    “Brand CSK will outgrow Brand India Cements. If you look at the history of franchise-based leagues in the US, it will outgrow everything. Passion for cricket is so much in India. The road between countries will see franchise-based leagues getting precedence as we go along,” Srinivasan was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
    Apart from their on-field performances, there have been a couple of key reasons behind the franchise’s unreal success on and off the field. The IPL has grown multifolds in terms of both in terms of viewership and brand value and brought in huge commercial deals – be it from broadcasters or the sponsors.

    But apart from that, there is one other thing that the franchise has done differently which has has benefitted them immensely in the long run.
    Since the inception, the franchise has been led by one man – Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While most of the franchises have gone through various changes at an organisational level over the years, CSK never had to face all of that.

    This is one franchise that believes in investing for the long term and backs the players to the hilt and it shows in their on-field performances. If we ignore the number of titles, they are the most consistent performer in the IPL history, reaching the playoffs in all but one season that they have participated in.
    He might be in the twilight phase of his career but Dhoni continues to be one of the biggest crowd pullers in the country and his association has definitely helped the franchise become the biggest sporting entity in the country.

    If there's one thing we sure know about a lot of Bollywood actors, it's that they love spending their hard-earned cash on new sets of wheels, houses, and rides.
    I mean, take it from the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, or Bollywood's biggest motorhead John Abraham, they all just cannot help but appreciate fast cars and bikes, before adding them to their own garages.
    Well, another such star is often seen out shopping for such beautiful additions is Arjun Kapoor.
    The 36-year-old actor who was last seen in Bhoot Police alongside Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam, and Jacqueline Fernandez, is known to be a big fan of cars and bikes.
    In fact, he has a wonderful collection of expensive cars resting in his garage, with the Mercedes Maybach, Maserati Levante, Volvo XC90, Land Rover Defender, Mercedes ML 350, and Audi Q5 being some of the vehicles owned by the actor.

    Last year, the actor had purchased a Land Rover Defender 110 and followed it up quickly by going in for the uber-luxurious SUV Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

    Well, it looks like he is showing no signs of slowing down as he has gone on for another addition for his collection.
    According to reports, Arjun has just bought a Ducati Scrambler bike for a staggering price of Rs 13 lakh on-road.

    The actor broke the news of his latest purchase through his Instagram post, which said, "Swipe right to meet my new friend. I usually try & meet her over the weekend."

    According to reports, the beautiful Ducati Scrambler is powered by an 803cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that churns out 71.87bhp of power and 66.2Nm of peak torque, enabling it to be really, really powerful.
    If you're not impressed by this, you should know that the particular model of the bike is also featured in Keanu Reeves' The Matrix Resurrections movie that featured Priyanka Chopra as well.

    Now, that's really one impressive possession that Arjun would love to show off.

    I mean, maybe not on the roads of Mumbai all the time, but clearly bike rides with girlfriend Malaika Arora are going to hit different when this beast is on the road.

    Spider-Man: No Way Home treated fans with the first time on-screen union of as many as three Spider-Men - the OG Tobey Maguire, the Amazing Andrew Garfield and the current web-slinger Tom Holland. 
    The film also featured a bunch of supervillains like Green Goblin, Electro, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Lizard from earlier non-MCU Spider-Man films. 
    Spider-Man: No Way Home brought the concept of the multiverse to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and now it is expected that the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be all about the multiverse, as the title of the film suggests.

    There have been strong rumours that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature 25 characters from Marvel Comics. 

    It has also been rumoured that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the film that will unite Avengers with X-Men and will bring Fantastic Four to the MCU. 
    Besides that, the film is also expected to mark the return of Iron Man in MCU, however, with a twist. 
    So, here are 25 Marvel characters that are likely to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:

    Before Mark Ruffalo, there was Edward Norton. He played the incredible Hulk in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk before being replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the 2012 film Marvel’s The Avengers. 

    It has been rumoured that he may make a comeback as another variant of the Hulk. I wonder though how that’s going to work out since Norton was the Hulk in MCU as well.

    Before casting Chris Evans as Captain America aka Steve Rogers, Marvel Studios were in talks with The Office and A Quiet Place star John Krasinski. He is now expected to finally dawn the star-spangled suit in MCU.

    Similarly, Emily Blunt too was almost cast as Black Widow in MCU before she backed out and Scarlett Johansson was roped in. She may make an appearance as Black Widow from another universe.

    Before immortalising Loki, Tom Hiddleston had auditioned for Thor. We may finally see how he would’ve looked like the God of Thunder. 

    7. Hawkeye played by Jensen Ackles © Warner Bros
    Supernatural star Jensen Ackles, who will soon be seen as superhero Soldier Boy in the upcoming season of The Boys, had initially auditioned for Captain America. He was later offered Hawkeye which he turned down due to scheduling conflicts. 

    The actor is now expected to appear as a Clint Barton variant from another universe.

    Besides Benedict Cumberbatch, Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix was also in the running to play the Sorcerer Supreme. He is now likely to appear as a variant of Doctor Strange in the upcoming film.

    Even though Hugh Jackman has time and again said that he has no interest in returning to his most iconic character, a little cameo won’t hurt anybody, I guess.

    Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed superhero will join MCU with the upcoming Doctor Strange film.

    Before playing Captain America, Chris Evans played another Marvel superhero Human Torch in Fantastic Four films. He is rumoured to be returning to his early superhero character with the Benedict Cumberbatch starrer. 

    Other characters expected to make a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness include Loki, Sylvie, Kang the Conqueror, Magneto, Professor X, Agatha Harkness, Mr Fantastic, Vision, Wanda’s sons Wiccan and Speed, Captain Carter, Infinity Ultron and Strange Supreme. 
    Since Sam Raimi is directing Doctor Strange 2, Bruce Campbell, who starred in Raimi’s The Evil Dead and appeared in cameos in his Spider-Man trilogy will most probably be making a guest appearance in the upcoming MCU film as well.
    Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to release on May 6, 2022.

    The infamous 2008 Monkeygate scandal was perhaps the biggest controversy of Harbhajan Singh’s international career. In fact, it was arguably the biggest controversy that rocked Indian cricket since the turn of the century.
    The off-spinner was accused of hurling racial abuse towards the Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds during the infamous 2008 Sydney Test which is fresh in our memories to this date for more than one reason, pathetic umpiring being one of them.

    After the match, the Indian off-spinner was slapped with a three-match ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) but the decision had to be overturned after Indian players lodged a strong protest and stood behind their teammate.

    The atmosphere had become so hostile that there was a possibility of the whole tour being called off but eventually the visitors decided against it after Bhajji’s ban was overturned and he was fined 50 percent of his match fee.

    Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, who was one of the witnesses in the case, in his autobiography ‘Playing It My Way’, narrated the whole incident and revealed the exact words that Harbhajan had used and how the Australians mistook it for something else.

    “I want to state very clearly that the incident arose because Andrew Symonds had been continually trying to provoke Bhajji and it was inevitable that the two would have an altercation at some point. While walking up to Bhajji to try to calm things down, I heard him say 'Teri maa ki' (Your mother...) to Symonds. It is an expression we often use in north India to vent our anger and to me it was all part of the game,” Tendulkar wrote in his book.

    For Harbhajan it was one of the lowest points in his career as he was being accused of something that he never said. Responding to the whole episode, the spin wizard said that he couldn’t understand why the whole Australian team ganged up on him and became witness to something that he never said.

    Speaking to Boria Majumdar on his show ‘Backstage With Boria’, India’s second-most off-spinner in Test cricket said that he was very disturbed by this whole incident but even then he kept his mouth shut.

    “Obviously I was disturbed, I couldn’t understand why it was happening. Why was there so much of... for something that hadn’t happened. They had six or seven witnesses for something that I had not spoken. No one had heard it and yet it was blown out of proportion,” Harbhajan told Boria Majumdar.

    The 41-year-old legend said that the Australians insulted his religion by saying things like he had testicles on his head. Despite hearing such derogatory things he didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to fuel the controversy further.

    “The things that were said to me (while being) on the ground, ‘you have testicles on your head’, to hear such an insult towards my religion was the most difficult thing for me. I didn’t open my mouth then because if I did so, it would have resulted in more controversies,” said the legendary off-spinner, who retired from all forms of cricket in December 2021.

    “Only I knew how I used to spend time in my room during that difficult phase. I never thought of having a word with the players or the management because they were anyways with me. In the whole incident, they were backing me but since my stress level had already reached beyond a certain level I did not want to stress anyone else,” he said, explaining why he kept things to himself.

    To be honest, we are not surprised by all this. The Australian players and spectators have a reputation of crossing all boundaries. It was not the first time an Indian player was subjected to such derogatory comments by a hostile Australian crowd, especially at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

    Virat Kohli’s bombshell-like announcement to step down as the Test captain of the Indian team came two weeks back but the decision is still making headlines across the world.  
    Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has now come out with a revelation regarding Kohli’s decision to relinquish Test captaincy that has shocked the fans. 
    Ponting, in an interview with the International Cricket Council (ICC), said that he had a chat with Kohli during last year’s Indian Premier League and the Indian star batter spoke to him about stepping down from captaincy in the white-ball format but looked ‘passionate’ to carry on at the helm in Test cricket.

    “Yes, it did actually (surprise me). Probably the main reason why is I had a chat and good catch-up with Virat during the first part of the IPL (2021) before it got postponed. He was talking then about stepping away (from captaincy) from white-ball cricket and how passionate he was to continue on to be Test match captain. He just loved and cherished that job and that post so much,” Ponting was quoted as saying by the ICC.
    Ponting’s words left fans of the former India captain furious and they felt it was the 'politics' by the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly that forced Kohli to leave captaincy in the longest format of the game. 
    This shows he didn't willingly made his way out. The stepping down somehow was forced on him.

I think the proof is in the pudding with what he has done at the Mumbai Indians since that moment on.
