    A country famous for its spin-bowling, established itself as one of the best fast-bowling units in the world. A team often described as home-track bullies, became arguably the best touring Test side in the world.

    A country where winning a Test match away from home (in SENA countries) was considered a major success, attained a status where winning a match was not enough anymore. Anything less than a series triumph was described as a failure.

    These were some of the monumental changes that defined Kohli’s legacy as the captain of the India Test team. The impact he had on the team can’t be described in words.
    But as they say, every good thing comes to an end, and so did Kohli's remarkable journey as the leader of the Indian Test team as he voluntarily resigned from the red-ball captaincy.

    But, if we take a close look at all the controversies that transpired in the last few months, ever since he decided to step down from the T20I stewardship, everything starts to make sense.

    For every leader to succeed in his role, it’s important that he has the support of the backroom staff and seems like after the departure of Ravi Shastri and his team, Kohli was left all by himself.
    But I am not here to discuss the gory details of what led to his disappointing exit. A lot of people have already said and written enough about that.

    While the whole world is focusing on the negatives, I intend to highlight how Kohli’s resignation could prove to be a blessing in disguise and why the Indian cricket fans should be happy about that.
    You see, in a country like India where cricket is followed like a religion, captaining the national team is a no mean task. It is one of the most high-profile jobs in the country. Leading the country is an honour for any cricketer but at the same time it also takes a huge toll on a player’s physical and mental well-being and Kohli had started to feel this burden.

    The already precarious situation became even more frightening in the last couple of years as the whole world grappled with the deadly coronavirus pandemic. The players had to spend a long time inside strict bio-bubbles which made things all the more difficult.

    November 2019 was the last time when Kohli breached the three-figure mark in international cricket in the historic day-night Test against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens. For the first time in his career, he has gone without scoring a century in international cricket for two consecutive calendar years.

    Back in the day, Kohli used to score centuries for fun but since the last two years his career is stuck at 70 international hundreds. Ever wondered why?

    Well.. there could be plenty of reasons for that. To perform on the field, a player needs to be in a healthy space of mind but the pandemic changed everything. To me it wasn’t a coincidence that Kohli’s century drought coincided with the pandemic.
    And if that was not all, his differences with the BCCI top brass, including president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah, were also starting to take a massive toll on his mind.

    His lean patch has dragged on for far too long and that’s why a change was needed to turn his fortunes around.

    As a captain, Kohli had to shoulder the added responsibility of the team, which, at times, stopped him from playing his natural cricket, neither benefitting Kohli nor the team.

    We saw how MS Dhoni approached his game when he started leading the Indian team. A player who was known for his attacking shots became more cautious of his strokeplay and his focus shifted on anchoring the innings. While we found a Mr dependable, we somewhat lost the Dhoni who tormented the opposition bowlers, dispatching them deep into the stands.

    Kohli is still only 33 and given his fitness he still has a good four-five years of cricket left in him, if not more.

    While we loved watching Kohli marshall his troops on the field, but, let’s be honest, we all love his batting way more than his captaincy, and given a choice the majority of us would pick the former, without batting an eyelid.

    Yes, I know there’s no guarantee that by giving up captaincy he will regain his old form back but it's a chance that I am ready to take.

    While NTR Jr’s first pan-India release RRR has been postponed, fans recently started anticipating the announcement around his next untitled film NTR30 as it started trending on Twitter. 
    Not just that, a lot of them even started speculating that the movie, to be helmed by director Siva Koratala, will mark the reunion of NTR Jr with his RRR co-star Alia Bhatt. And the music of the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. 
    According to TOI, when a source close to development was asked about the speculation of Alia reuniting with NTR Jr, the response was a cryptic, “Mostly!”

    However, this was more than enough for fans to lose it and express their excitement about the project.

    Mahesh Manjrekar's latest Marathi movie Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha

    landed into a major trouble after the National Commission for Women objected to certain scenes that highlighted a minor and a woman in an obscene setting. 
    NCW’s official Twitter handle wrote, “Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to Secy,I&B Ministry to censor the trailer & sexually explicit scenes involving minors of upcoming Marathi film 'Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha'.NCW condemns the open circulation of such content involving minors on social media platforms.”

    The NCPCR, on the other hand, sent a notice claiming that the trailer falls under Section 2(c) of The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, and in violation of Section 292 of the IPC that deals with production, distribution, and selling of obscene material and Section 13 of the Protection of Child From Sexual Offence Act (POCSO) Act, 2012 which pertains to the use of of a child for pornographic purposes and Section 62 of the IT Act, 2000. 
    The movie is a crime thriller about two teenage boys who are victims of hypocrite society and grow up being hardcore criminals. In the trailer, how they are corrupted by the riches and women use them for their sexual satisfaction. The trailer was released on social media platforms without any age restrictions.

    It has now been reported that the scenes in question, one of which features actress Kashmera Shah, have now been removed from the film just before the release. 
    A source told Bollywood Hungama, “On Thursday, the makers removed a few visuals from the film. The trailer depicts Kashmera Shah pulling the child actor, Prem Dharmadhikari, towards herself. This and the scene where Prem Dharmadhikari castrates a character were deleted from the final cut from the film. One or two more shots also got snipped."

    This particular scene and a few more scenes are genuinely problematic. 

    The producers said in a statement handed out by the PR that “our crew has been a vital part of the media and entertainment industry for five decades and we have always respected the integrity of women with all due respect and honesty. Such issues have always been taken seriously by us, and we have always worked quickly to address them.”
    The statement also included , “ We have already and promptly removed the trailer from all social media sites where the content was uploaded, in consideration of the respect for women and the different initiatives done by the National Commission for Women for the welfare of women. We sincerely appreciate NCW’s and all other responsible authorities’ efforts in the past to improve the entertainment sector. We trust that our actions will be sufficient to resolve the concerns expressed in the teaser for the film “Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha.”

    Indian cricket fans have been wondering one thing of late -- who will now take over the reins from Virat Kohli after the prolific batter stepped down as Test captain of the Indian team? 
    Kohli shocked the world by announcing that he will not lead the Test side in a statement that he put out on social media after the series loss in South Africa.
    Rohit Sharma, who was the designated vice-captain in Tests and skipper in ODIs, had missed the tour of South Africa due to a hamstring injury and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had named KL Rahul as the captain for the ODI series and Jasprit Bumrah as his deputy.

    Bumrah addressed the press ahead of the ODI series opener and spoke about his desire to lead the team one day. 
    "If given an opportunity, it will be an honour and I don't see any player would say no and I am no different. Be it any leadership group, I always look to contribute however I can, to the best of my abilities," Bumrah said in a virtual press conference ahead of the South Africa ODI series.
    While we have seen how successful a pacer can be in Tests as a captain recently during the Ashes where Pat Cummins registered a 4-0 series win over England, we can't rule out the fact that Bumrah could be considered as a candidate to lead the team in the longest format of the game.

    The end of a relationship is always difficult, no matter what anyone says. Despite your best attempts at concealing the heartbreak, your true emotions find a way to express themselves through your actions, speech, or even in the clothes you wear.
    Many men take breakups as a personal affront to everything they stood for. I did too, at a point in my life. After all, it’s only natural to feel dejected after having invested yourself in this whole other person, to only have a premature end to a once seemingly endless love story. 
    It’s always advisable to keep your emotions in check, however, it’s easier said than done. 
    Those of us who take breakups extremely poorly, naturally, spiral into this sense of self-pity, often letting ourselves go. And it’s visible externally. 
    All of a sudden, we become withdrawn. Our beards, overgrown with unkempt wisps of hair become totemic of our unprocessed emotions, like the oft-panned and divisive character, Kabir Singh.

    Recently, Zayn Malik sent his fans into a meltdown after showcasing a brand new look on Instagram. 

    The Pillow Talk pop star debuted his dishevelled style through his first post of the year 2022, where he could be seen looking away from the camera, eyes guarded by stylish, round-framed Lennon glasses, and a densely rugged beard holding the look together. 
    There’s no denying that the former One Directioner still looked roguishly handsome, however, his devoted fans noticed a more-than-passing resemblance to Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh.

    While the resemblance is uncanny, what makes it even more interesting is that the picture shows us how he’s faring after his breakup from Victoria’s Secret supermodel Gigi Hadid.

    However, we hope he has the necessary support from his loved ones to ensure he doesn’t end up following the tumultuous path of his purported lookalike. 
    While some called Zayn Malik an ‘expensive Kabir Singh’, a particular Instagram user went ahead and compared Zayn Malik to other actors as well, Telugu superstar Allu Arjun’s and Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan in particular.

    John Abraham, who made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with the hit film Jism, is one of the most consistent actors in Bollywood. As per the latest buzz, ever since his 2019 release Batla House turned out to be a hit at the box office, Abraham has been constantly increasing his fees. He currently has several interesting projects in his kitty and one of them is Ek Villain Returns. Reportedly, he has charged a whopping amount for the much-awaited sequel.

    According to Bollywood Hungama, John's remuneration for Ek Villain Returns is Rs 21 crore. Yes, you read that right! Revealing the same, a source told the portal, "His market rate has been on an upward swing - the amount paid for Batla House was more than Satyameva Jayate, the amount he got for SMJ 2 was more than Batla House, the amount he got for Pathan was more than SMJ 2 and finally, his fees for Ek Villain Returns is higher than Pathan".
    "Over the last 3 years, John's acting fees have jumped from Rs. 7 crores to Rs. 21 crores," the source added. Basically, in the last 3 years, Abraham's fees have seen triple growth despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
    For the unversed, Ek Villain Returns is a sequel to Mohit Suri's 2014 hit Ek Villain featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead roles. Along with John, the second installment also stars Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in lead roles. The film is expected to release during the Eid 2022 weekend.

    1. 50 Shades DarkerThe entire trilogy of this erotic film series starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson had to face heat in terms of censorship and while this steamy movie was banned in India over issues pertaining to a lot of nudity and intense *** scenes, you can view it on Netflix now.

    2. The Da Vinci CodeThis movie stirred up a storm of controversy and was banned in over 7 states in India after it was accused of showing Christian community in a bad light and there were reservations about how Jesus Christ was described in the film. It is available on Netflix now.

    3. Indiana Jones & The Temple Of DoomBack in 1984, the sequel to the famous Raiders Of The Lost Ark caused a major uproar in the country. The depiction of Indian villages, the people and the fictitious outlook of the Hindu mythology naturally angered the people here and hence it was not allowed to be released. You can watch it on YouTube now.

    4. The Girl With The Dragon TattooThis dark movie is a big hit overseas but after the Censor board asked a few love making, torture and rape scenes to be cut, director David Fincher refused to oblige and as a result, the movie was banned in the country. It can be streamed and rented on YouTube now.

    5. WaterDeepa Mehta’s controversial film starring John Abraham which was set against the backdrop of the rising colonial power in Varanasi, was banned in the country for hurting religious sentiments with its explicit sexual content. The movie shows a widow who is finding love again and back in 2005, it was still a subject of controversy. It is available on YouTube.

    Ginni stays away from the limelight and is not seen even on Kapil’s talk show, unlike his mother who sits in the audience. 

    However, for this stand-up special show, which happens to be his OTT debut, Ginni was seen not only rooting for him in the audience but also interacting and responding to his questions in a fun way.

    When he asked her why she chose to marry a man with a scooter, despite belonging to a well-off family, she said, “I thought everyone marries a rich guy, let me do some charity for this poor man.” 

    This proves Kapil has truly met his match when it comes to the humour department!
