Novak Djokovic's Australian Open title is hanging by a thread even before the start of the Tennis tournament. If you are not versed with the whole drama that has been happening Down Under since the men's world number one Tennis player arrived in Australia, we have you sorted.
Djokovic has said that he is yet to take any Covid vaccine and going by the rules in Australia, his visa was cancelled when he arrived for his Australian Open title defence, but after a legal tussle with the authorities, a jury gave the decision in favour of the nine-time Australian Open champion and he was cleared to play.
I’m pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened,I want to stay and try to compete @AustralianOpen
I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans. pic.twitter.com/iJVbMfQ037
— Novak Djokovic (@DjokerNole) January 10, 2022
Djokovic had started his preparations in Melbourne but his dream of winning his 21st Grand Slam faced another roadblock when the Australian Government cancelled his visa for the second time.
Immigration minister Alex Hawke decided to exercise his power to cancel the decision that was made by the Federal Circuit and Family Court, allowing Djokovic to compete at the Australian Open despite not being vaccinated against COVID-19.
Alex Hawke's statement revoking Djokovic's visa pic.twitter.com/m2Z5LYWiSu
— The Australian (@australian) January 14, 2022
"Today I exercised my power... to cancel the visa held by Mr Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so," Hawke said in a statement.
If Djokovic is deported back, he will not be eligible for a new Australian visa for the next three years.
With the uncertainty growing around Djokovic's participation in the Australian Open, fans gave polarising views on the latest development in this saga.
Correct decision made based on evidence at hand. Mr. Djokovic made contradictory statements - by his own admission - regarding Covid status, infection and vaccination (or lack of). Tried to hold others responsible, mis-stated vaccination status, claimed incorrect exemption.

— Katiemorrissey556 (@Katiemo02395611) January 14, 2022I don’t like the reason. Give a clear decision based on the facts so we can look at the points and form an opinion. Every part of this saga has been wishy washy. It seems the opinion polls took from Monday to Friday to be collated.
— Thomas Colby (@ThomasColby13) January 14, 2022#BoycottAustralianOpen #Djokovic hope this injustice to a man who has shown courage, grit, perseverance and hard work on the tennis court and off it gets a fitting reply by fellow professional tennis players and fans. #AustralianOpen2022 @ITFTennis @DjokerNole
— Hemant Walia (@TyroFroideur) January 14, 2022 Djokovic had issued a public apology on social media where he admitted to providing wrong information regarding his travel history, terming it as "human error".
His fight with the authorities will continue and according to several reports, Djokovic's lawyers are in talks with the Australian Government to find a solution.
Onward idemooo #semis thank you for all the amazing support #NoleFam #USOpen pic.twitter.com/ooHwz85Ahe
— Novak Djokovic (@DjokerNole) September 9, 2021
The nine-time Australian Open champion was set to face his countryman Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening round of the tournament on 17 January.
However, now it remains to be seen whether he will take the court on Monday or will be asked to board the flight back home.

When it comes to Test cricket, Ajinkya Rahane has been one of the most common faces in the Indian cricket team’s Playing XI for at least the last five years. Over time, he rose through the ranks, became the vice-captain of the squad and even led the team to the heroic 2020-21 Test series victory in Australia.
Having said that, Rahane’s personal contribution to the team in terms of scoring runs with the bat has been under the scanner for a really long time and the disappointing final Test of the India-South Africa series might be the last nail in the coffin for the cricketer’s red-ball career at the highest level.
Drop Rahane in next series pls ffs
— Positive Entropy (@EntropyPositive) January 11, 2022
While getting into Team India for any format of the game is an extremely competitive job in itself, there is no denying the fact that Rahane has gotten his fair share of tries to prove himself and solidify his place in the roster but not only has he failed to score big, the fact that he has gotten dismissed on single-digit scores so often has also worked negatively in his case.
Thus, when the former Team Indian cricketer and one of the most controversial commentators in the Indian cricket fraternity, Sanjay Manjrekar took a massive dig at the 33-year old cricketer, there was little to no protest against his assessment:
"I would not give Ajinkya Rahane another Innings. Cheteshwar Pujara has a stronger case in my book." - Sanjay Manjrekar (On ESPNcricinfo)
— CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) January 14, 2022
Manjrekar feels that Rahane hasn’t done a lot in the last three to four years that could be considered good enough to ensure his spot in the Playing XI anymore. He also suggests the batter take a step back, play some matches of the Ranji trophy to get back his rhythm and form.
“It’s (his dismissal) a combination of a good delivery and Ajinkya Rahane’s form. He needs to go back and play first-class cricket and hopefully get his mojo back. I would not give Rahane another innings. Pujara has a stronger case in my book. Nothing about Rahane in the last 3-4 years gives me hope that he is coming back into form. There have been glimmers when he got a hundred in Melbourne. But, apart from that, nothing much," Manjrekar told ESPNCricinfo.
But exactly how bad has Rahane been in Test cricket in terms of numbers? Well, ever since the beginning of 2020, he has averaged below 25 for five bilateral Test series including the one currently going on in South Africa and the only century he struck was back in Melbourne in 2020.
Maybe that is the reason why Indian cricket fans, who are normally at Manjrekar’s throat for his unpopular opinions, were finally in agreement with his analysis and nodded to the idea of scratching off Rahane’s name from the list and give somebody like Shreyas Iyer a shot at proving his worth in the longest format of the game.
Yes players like Hanuma Vihari, Shreyash Iyer are waiting for chance. They should play.
— Abhijeet bhuyan (@Abhijeetbhuya13) January 14, 2022Rahane's Time has gone...I'm sure Team Management Will not give him Any more oppurtunity...One 50s 100s Does not matter It's al about consistency...
— Genius Gaming.. (@imgeniusomi) January 14, 2022Even the Mumbai Lobby has spoken. Please drop him ffs @chetans1987 @imVkohli
— Slayyer (@dominusToBe) January 14, 2022Agree..pujara has played important role in all most all wins in last 2 years..rahane should have been dropped 2 years back itself.. https://t.co/P3dtWvQROV

Anyone who doesn't live under a rock and is mindful of their finances, would have heard of 'Zerodha'. With an active client base of 5 million users, Zerodha is the largest retail stockbroker in India, contributing more than 15% of daily retail volumes across all Indian stock exchanges.
View this post on Instagram
However, financial planning or stock market is not what we're talking about in here. We're focusing on Mr Nithin Kamath, the co-founder and CEO of Zerodha. As it turns out, Nithin, 42, is an avid fitness enthusiast who never skips the gym!
View this post on Instagram
While Nithin has always been conscious about fitness, it's a famous selfie that he shared, which put him in the limelight in terms of his fitness. He ended up sharing that not only on Instagram, but also on Twitter and LinkedIn, which made everyone sit up and take notice.
View this post on Instagram
In an interview on YouTube, Nithin has revealed that he started taking fitness seriously when he couldn't play basketball because of breathing and wheezing issues. To deal with that, he started taking care of his health, and that became a passion. He says he tries to do everything in moderation, as he's a foodie who also has a huge sweet tooth.
View this post on Instagram
When it comes to his routine and diet, he believes in having early dinners, and usually finishes off by 6.30 - 7 pm. He also has a drink or two once in a while, but the moderation bit keeps everything in check. He also mentioned that he struggles with his sleep timings and duration, but he has been working on it by turning off all his devices by 8-8.30 pm, since it's one of the fundamental facets of recovery when one is trying to build muscle.
View this post on Instagram
When it comes to his daily diet, Nithin starts off his day with coffee just before his workout, and then has oats and whey protein. Then for his breakfast he has egg whites and vegetables with the water of a tender coconut. Around noon, he has a glass of fruit juice along with the fiber in it, without straining it. For his lunch, he usually has some dal and some quinoa as he switched from rice to quinoa a while back because his gut feels much better with that. In the evening, he snacks on some healthy cheese and crackers. Dinner for him is usually non-vegetarian, and since he loves fish, it's mostly fish and some vegetables. He keeps on changing his diet from time to time.
View this post on Instagram
Nithin's wife, Seema Patil, is also a fitness enthusiast, and they often workout together to realise their fitness goals.
View this post on Instagram
All we can say is, we're mighty impressed! If he can find time to work on his fitness goals despite having such a busy schedule, all of us can also surely squeeze in some time for ours! Well done, Sir! We applaud you!

Growing up as kids, I think all of us end up taking a lot of sh*t from different people because of several reasons.
Whether it is bullies at school or just a rude person in general, we choose not to act on our emotions either because we are too scared, we don't want to pick a fight, or maybe sometimes just clueless.
However, one thing that is actually the tipping point for all of us is when someone says something bad about our mother or our father.
The popular phrase 'Baap Pe Mat Jana' is something that is deeply embedded in all of us, regardless of our age, caste, creed, religion, or geographic location. I mean, call me a hundred different names and I'll take it, but if you say something ill against my parents, you've had it, buddy.
Well, looks like that's the case with Bollywood as well.
There is one particular incident where Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, lost it when he heard something really bad about his dad.
© Instagram
I mean, come on! Just look at him. Whenever you see Shah Rukh in interviews or even in the movies, he's as graceful, charismatic, and witty as ever. How can people not like him?
However, it wasn't the case with one girl, who said some really mean things about Shah Rukh to his son Aryan, when he was young.
According to reports, the girl while speaking to a younger Aryan Khan called Shah Rukh an assh*le, before calling him 'fat and ugly' too.
© Prime Video
What happened afterwards was absolutely batsh*t crazy as Aryan just lept to the defence of his father and literally beat the girl up.
As per IB Times, Shah Rukh spoke about the incident in detail and revealed how and why Aryan lost his cool.
“My son feels I am fat. He beat up a girl. First, she called me an ‘a**hole’. He didn’t react. Then she said I looked ugly in Kaun Banega Crorepati but he didn’t react and controlled himself. Finally, when she said, ‘Your father is fat,’ he kicked her.”
However, reports reveal the conversation that Aryan had with father Shah Rukh, with the star kid blaming his father for the incident.
“Why are you fat? You are not ugly, I didn’t mind. You look handsome on KBC. You’re not an a**hole, I know. You’re a cool guy. But you are fat, papa.” said Aryan to his father.
It's really a super funny incident, to be honest.
The whole Khan family has been through some bad experiences with Aryan's arrest by the NCB last year, however, they seem to be coming through, as per reports.
Shah Rukh will now be seen in his upcoming film Pathan.

There have been numerous instances on a cricket field when players have publicly criticised and confronted the umpires for making controversial decisions.
The players pointing a finger on the technology is a common occurrence in this sport but you know something is seriously wrong when an umpire does the same.
Was it the right decision?
Shaun Pollock and Sunil Gavaskar discuss the use of hawkeye after Umpire adjudged Dean Elgar out lbw but reversed his decision as the tracking technology showed the ball going over the wicket... pic.twitter.com/k9w9ajisE1
— Sky Sports Cricket (@SkyCricket) January 13, 2022
After all, it’s not very often that we see an on-field umpire questioning the decision made by a fellow match official.
With series on the line, some of the senior members of Indian contingent, including skipper Virat Kohli, lost their cool on the field and lashed out at the official broadcasters after South Africa captain Dean Elgar got a reprieve, thanks to a controversial DRS.
Kohli and Indian players on the stump mic #SAvIND pic.twitter.com/fXs6x8RFtD
— Xolani (@ThatXolani) January 13, 2022
Kohli and his teammates, including vice-captain KL Rahul, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Mayank Agarwal, were heard accusing the South African broadcasters of tampering with the ball-tracking technology in order to help the hosts win the series.
Every conversation caught on stump mic:
Kohli: Certainly conducting a fair game here DRS... #SAvIND
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time #SAvIND
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Well done DRS, very well done #SAvIND
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball, eh! Not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time #SAvIND
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022 In the heat of the moment, the Indian players said something which they probably shouldn’t have. But they weren’t the only ones who were shocked by the controversial outcome predicted by the ball-tracking technology.
The on-field umpire Marais Erasmus, who had declared Dean Elgar out leg before, also couldn’t believe how this decision could be overturned as it looked plumb with naked eyes.
pic.twitter.com/MRnPViICuL
— Addicric (@addicric) January 13, 2022
Just like Indian players, even he couldn’t believe what he just saw on the big screen, and while overturning his original decision, he was caught in the stump mic uttering: “That is impossible”, not once but twice.
Mind you, Erasmus is no rookie. The former South Africa cricketer is one of the most respected cricket umpires in the world. He has officiated in 107 Tests, 158 ODIs and 51 T20Is and many regard him as the best in the business.
© Reuters
A match official of his stature openly expressing his disagreement with the decision just goes on to show how dubious of a call that was.
If the umpire who had nothing to do with the outcome of the match couldn’t digest this decision, just imagine what the Indian players, who were fighting hard to win their maiden Test series on South African soil, would have felt after finding themselves on the wrong side of another controversial decision in this closely-fought series.
© Reuters
The Indian players had every right to feel aggrieved by the decision and one could understand why they reacted in the manner they did.
All the India players who were caught on stump mic venting their frustrations out are likely to be fined handsomely by the match referee.
© Reuters
We wonder if the match referee will hand out a similar treatment to his fellow match official as well. Because by expressing dissatisfaction with the TV umpire’s decision he also broke the ICC code of conduct.

Rishabh Pant played an innings that not only brought India back in the third Test against South Africa but also shined a glimmer of hope of the first-ever Test series win in the Rainbow nation.
Pant slammed his fourth century in the longest format of the game and was soon called the "biggest match winner" on social media.
India's captain in the limited-overs format Rohit Sharma was also among the many from the cricketing fraternity, lauding the outstanding knock by the left-hander.
Incredible from #RishabhPant . Just two other batsmen reached double fingers and has single -handedly kept India in the game. Not just an ex-factor but one of India’s biggest match-winner in Test cricket. pic.twitter.com/8FqX1FrIIK

Unlike others, who heaped praise on the 24-year-old, Rohit used a cryptic tweet to react to Pant's milestone. Rohit posted two zipper-mouth emojis along with a pant emoticon.
Fans wasted little time reacting to Rohit's post and came up with hilarious replies. Failing to decode what the Indian opener was trying to convey, a few asked Rohit to praise the youngster in a better way.

On Thursday, Pant walked out to bat with India in a spot of bother of losing the advantage in the series decider. He put on a 94-run stand with captain Virat Kohli and added runs with lower-order as well to reach his hundred and help the visitors set the Proteas a target of 212.
Before Stumps, while South Africa managed to score 101 runs, India ended the day on a high by removing their skipper Dean Elgar.

Jacqueline Fernandez is currently going through a rough patch ever since her name cropped up in connection with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar's extortion case. After several cozy pictures of the Bollywood actress with Sukesh went viral on the internet, the money laundering case has become the talk of the town. Seems like, her professional life too is now getting affected because of this mess.
View this post on Instagram
According to reports, the makers of Akkineni Nagarjuna's The Ghost had signed Jacqueline for the upcoming movie after Kajal Aggarwal opted out due to her pregnancy. However, the latest buzz suggests that the Kick actress too isn't part of the film anymore.
While the real reason behind Jacqueline's exit from The Ghost is not yet known, there is a buzz that her connection with Sukesh might be the reason behind this. Talking about her exit, a source close to the film's team told Pinkvilla, "Jacqueline is no longer a part of the film. While we don't know the exact reason, there have been talks that her exit can be after she landed up in trouble in an extortion case."
View this post on Instagram
Another report suggests that the real reason behind Jacqueline's refusal might be the offered fee. According to an ETimes report, the actress said no to The Ghost as the makers failed to "afford the fees she charges for a film". She reportedly stepped out of the project in November last year.
Well, the actress is yet to react to the speculations, however, we hope that she clears the air soon.
For the unversed, The Ghost is being helmed by Praveen Sattaru and the first schedule is expected to begin in six months. It is touted to be an action thriller with Mukesh G as the cinematographer.
Coming back to Jacqueline, she currently has films like Attack, Cirkus, and Ram Setu in her kitty.
Talking about Sukesh, he is in judicial custody for reportedly extorting Rs 200 crore and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently probing the case. The conman in a letter recently confirmed that he was in a relationship with Jacqueline. Since then, their pictures are doing the rounds on social media. Post which, the actress shared a statement on Instagram and requested the media to not circulate intrusive photos and to not invade her privacy at a difficult time.
