Jacqueline Fernandez is currently going through a rough patch ever since her name cropped up in connection with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar's extortion case. After several cozy pictures of the Bollywood actress with Sukesh went viral on the internet, the money laundering case has become the talk of the town. Seems like, her professional life too is now getting affected because of this mess. 

According to reports, the makers of Akkineni Nagarjuna's The Ghost had signed Jacqueline for the upcoming movie after Kajal Aggarwal opted out due to her pregnancy. However, the latest buzz suggests that the Kick actress too isn't part of the film anymore. 

While the real reason behind Jacqueline's exit from The Ghost is not yet known, there is a buzz that her connection with Sukesh might be the reason behind this. Talking about her exit, a source close to the film's team told Pinkvilla, "Jacqueline is no longer a part of the film. While we don't know the exact reason, there have been talks that her exit can be after she landed up in trouble in an extortion case."

Another report suggests that the real reason behind Jacqueline's refusal might be the offered fee. According to an ETimes report, the actress said no to The Ghost as the makers failed to "afford the fees she charges for a film". She reportedly stepped out of the project in November last year.

Well, the actress is yet to react to the speculations, however, we hope that she clears the air soon. 

For the unversed, The Ghost is being helmed by Praveen Sattaru and the first schedule is expected to begin in six months. It is touted to be an action thriller with Mukesh G as the cinematographer. 

Coming back to Jacqueline, she currently has films like Attack, Cirkus, and Ram Setu in her kitty. 

Talking about Sukesh, he is in judicial custody for reportedly extorting Rs 200 crore and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently probing the case. The conman in a letter recently confirmed that he was in a relationship with Jacqueline. Since then, their pictures are doing the rounds on social media. Post which, the actress shared a statement on Instagram and requested the media to not circulate intrusive photos and to not invade her privacy at a difficult time.

Apart from Jacqueline, the ED had also interrogated Nora Fatehi.
