    2021 was a mixed bag for Kangana Ranaut for a number of reasons. First, she had the infamous spat with Diljit Dosanjh, that many people said Diljit won. Then she had her Twitter account suspended, and got banned from the platform, permanently.

    Then there is the fact that she is facing a number of cases. On top of all this, one of her best performances in Thalaivii did not perform that well commercially.

    Clearly, she has had her hands full.

    The actress, who is known for speaking her mind, took a trip to Tirupati and a number of temples in the area.

    The actress took to Instagram, where she shared a number of pictures, wherein she was seen praying at the only Rahu Ketu temple in the world, close to the Tirupati Balaji Temple. She even performed some rituals at the temple.

    Along with the pictures that she posted, she wrote - “There is only one Rahu Ketu temple in the world…. It’s very close to Tirupati Balaji….performed some rituals there …. Out of five elemental Lingas, Vayo ( air element) Linda is also situated here …. Quite a remarkable place ….”

    She also wrote, “I went there to have the mercy of my beloved enemies, in this year I want less Police complaints / FIR’s and more love letters….”
    People on Twitter were quick to point out that it was because of her statements that she often found herself in sticky situations. They trolled her left, right, and centre.

    Alan Rickman’s Snape from the Harry Potter Universe is perhaps one of the most nuanced, and perhaps one of the best-written characters. And no, that’s not just a statement from a random fan, even the stars of Harry Potter tend to believe so.

    The ‘Return To Hogwarts’ reunion show celebrated 20 years since the first film was released in a reunion show of sorts. The star cast of the movies shared some tidbits from their time working on the films, and how it changed their lives forever.

    One thing that everybody did was reminisce about Alan Rickman’s rendition of Severus Snape. 
    Daniel Radcliffe & Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black, in particular, went into a segment where they discussed Rickman in some great detail. Radcliffe said that he believed that the reason why Rickman was so convincing as a villain was that he knew the redeeming character arc that Snape would eventually have, and knew just how important it would have been for Snape to come across as the cold and distant Snape.

    The Test cricket captain for India, Virat Kohli could be seen putting in the effort during a practice session ahead of the second of three Test matches between India and South Africa which is scheduled to take place from January 3rd at the Wanderers Stadium in Sandton.
    In a video shared by the official Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Kohli was captured while practicing his defence against bowlers, presumably pacers, in the longest format of the game.

    In the first match against the Proteas at the Centurion, Kohli got dismissed in both his innings while trying to step out for a delivery directed outside of his off-stump, as he hoped to hit his iconic cover drive for the boundary ropes. Each time, the ball edged on his bat and either went to the wicket-keeper or one of the fielders set at slip.

    Call it a force of habit, natural instinct or just the good old ego of an elite-level batter, but Kohli’s recent dismissals across different series in different countries have been mostly due to this very shot of his that he continues to attempt in every single match.

    However, it became extremely evident especially during the Test series against England (which remains unfinished and is expected to resume in June, 2022) during which the English pacers led by James Anderson dismissed the Indian skipper five out of five times by bowling outside of off-stump and getting an outer edge.

    As a result, the fans of the Indian cricket team, who once cheered and backed their skipper up during the 2018 season, when he whitewashed the ICC Awards and dominated international cricket across all formats, have lost faith in Kohli’s batting abilities and are expecting yet another disappointing innings out of the skipper at the Wanderers cricket ground.
    It did not take long for them to hope on Twitter and express their disappointed expectations from the skipper after the pictures of his practice sessions made their way online:

    Just a couple of days before the Indian cricket team left for South Africa for a tour of three Tests and as many ODI matches, the opening batter for the Men in Blue, Rohit Sharma was crowned as the white-ball cricket and the 50-over series against the Proteas was supposed to be his first series as the leader.
    However, back then, Sharma did not join the team in their travels and in fact stayed back at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, while giving the reason that he had suffered a severe injury in his hamstring and that he would be with his boys after the three Test matches were over.

    Back then, it was generally believed that Sharma was trying to avoid Virat Kohli, who was stripped of his ODI captaincy and the role given to the ‘HItman’ and did not want to play red-ball cricket under his leadership. But the recent developments have suggested that Sharma’s hamstring injury might be worse than most of the fans of the Indian cricket team were expecting. 
    On New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2021, the BCCI announced their 18-man squad for the upcoming ODI series in South Africa and Sharma’s name was nowhere to be found, confirming that he would have to stay back in Bengaluru to focus on recovering from the hamstring issues.

    In his absence, the new captain of the squad was decided and it was KL Rahul who got the job. Based on his consistency across all formats of the game and the experience that he has acquired as the captain of the Punjab Kings in the last few Indian Premier League seasons, there was little to no protest regarding Rahul’s promotion.
    However, it was the newly elected vice-captain of the team that managed to turn some heads, including that of the former Indian cricketer and wicket-keeper Saba Karim, who was rather surprised at the news of paceman Jasprit Bumrah getting this opportunity.

    Considering the fact that Bumrah has had no experience in captaining any side during his tenure as a cricketer (both in the IPL and internationally), Karim was unsure of the reasons why the Indian cricket board and the team selectors decided to go ahead with him as the deputy-in command. He was hoping to see the 24-year old Rishabh Pant get the opportunity, especially after the kind of success he had while leading Delhi Capitals during the 2021 season of the IPL not too long ago.
    "Jasprit Bumrah has the talent, his role is very important for the Indian team but he has not captained anywhere till now. So it is slightly surprising. I was feeling that Rishabh Pant was the first candidate as vice-captain," Karim said.
