Aside from the Covid-19 pandemic that wrecked the nation, it was a relatively good year for India as a whole.

And it was down to a few individuals who went against all odds to carve a name for themselves on a global stage, and made India proud of them in the process.
    Here are some of them:

He went to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on the back of working so hard on the training ground.

And, at a time when India really needed gold, Neeraj used his maximum strength to win home a prestigious Gold Olympic medal in Javelin Throw to make sure that his name is written in the country's history books forever.
The 24-year-old has since then become a very popular sporting figure.

It was not just sports where India excelled but in other fields as well.

Harnaaz Sandhu, India's Punjabi Kudi made the country proud by winning the much-coveted Miss Universe title.
In this process, she brought the crown back home after a period of almost 21 years. Harnaaz has been the talk of the town since then and looks set to make her Bollywood debut in a few years' time, as per reports.

Now, Tech is one sector where India is known to excel quite a lot.

However, literally, no one expected that Twitter, one of the leading social networking websites on the planet would be headed by an Indian as well.
Indian-American Parag Agrawal nailed the job to replace the departing Jack Dorsey as the CEO of Twitter, and boy! Was that some achievement?

Tesla clearly ranks as one of the leading carmakers in the world due to its technology and billion-dollar owner Elon Musk.

Now, having seen Elon's plans for the world, you can only go on to say that Telsa is one company that'd think a lot before hiring someone.
Well, it looks like Ashok Elluswamy is that person. Ashok was selected by Elon Musk, who shared that the Indian was actually hired through a Twitter post of his for Tesla's Autopilot team.
However, since he joined in 2015, Ashok now heads the entire team, making him one of the other such Indians placed at a very good post in top international tech organizations.
This is definitely something India should take pride in as its citizens are really cementing their places as the best.
