Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra who made our country proud with his impeccable performance at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has been in the news ever since for one reason or another.
Whether it is to find more about him and his talent of throwing the javelin or simply being in the know of what’s coming next after his glorious win in Tokyo, Neeraj Chopra has become a household name.

And while all that fame and fortune is good for boosting one’s ego, it might not be that great for helping one focus on their game.

As is what has happened with the 24-year-old who had to fly to the United States Of America to concentrate on his training, for being in India meant being around a lot of distractions. Especially with the Shaadi season going on!
Fed up with the barrage of invites he had been receiving to attend weddings in India, Neeraj Chopra finally decided to evade all the distractions in his home country to fly to the US and put his entire focus on his training.

He shared, “We, athletes, stay detached from families and friends and train for competitions for most of the time of our career. After winning the medal at the Olympics, suddenly I got to meet a lot of people. They were happy around me and showered their praises. But often it creates pressure among athletes and leads to an invisible burden of expectations, which can affect mental health and make you tired. So it is necessary to get back to what you are used to. I am again finding more solace after getting back into training."

Speaking about finding it hard to train in India, Neeraj went on to say, “The winter had set off in Haryana and wedding season was at the peak so I was being invited to many functions. I got a little bit tired there. Now I am happy that I don't have any distractions here in the USA where I can train with peace of mind." And boy, do we feel him.

After all, the pressure to attend and the temptation to eat an Indian wedding is all too real (and fattening)!

He even went on to talk about how he had put on weight during his time in India as he said, “After winning the gold I thought I should take a proper break. I ate everything that was offered to me and whatever I had missed out on staying away from home. I gained at least 12 to 13 kgs in this gap. The challenge was to shed this extra weight when I started training again. I had to make much greater efforts and push myself physically. In the last 20 days, I have been able to reduce 5 kgs."

As Neeraj continues to chase the 90m mark, he is working hard to improve his game and pull himself up to the mark.

While the Indian cricket fraternity is divided on the BCCI’s decision to make Rohit Sharma the full-time white-ball captain, former head coach of the team, Ravi Shastri has opened up about the reality of the situation and the “biggest problem” that Hitman will meet in the next couple of years as the leader of the squad.
While in a conversation with Star Sports, Shastri was candid about how the incredible pace attack that the Men in Blue formed during his tenure as head coach, and Virat Kohli’s time as the captain, will not be getting younger. Therefore, he says that expecting a similar form and such a high level of performance from names like Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and even Jasprit Bumrah may be termed as could be unrealistic in nature.

According to Shastri, Sharma will also adapt to the circumstances and might even have to take up the role of a mentor, a nurturer, who can train and bring out the young talent in a way that they turn out to be the kind of leaders that Shami and Bumrah are at the moment.
The next two years are extremely significant when it comes to white-ball cricket for India. After losing to New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup and not even making it to the knockout stage of the T20 World Cup in 2021, the squad will have the chance to redeem themselves in both formats of the game with the next T20 World Cup coming up in 2022 in Australia followed by the 50-over World Cup in 2023 hosted by the BCCI at home.
    View this post on Instagram
In order to have the most well-balanced squad prepared for the challenges, Shastri recommends a blend of youth and experience where the more seasoned pacers continue to lead the way while also allowing young talents to gain more experience at the international level.
Shastri also suggests that Sharma may have to fill in the shoes of a mentor sooner than he’d like as he may have to scout five “good bowlers” ahead of the T20 World Cup Down Under as for India, the biggest challenge is to perform on foreign soil. Comparatively, things would be a lot more “easier” for the Hitman in 2023 when the tournament will be held at home ground and we will have our dependable line of elite spinners to bank on.

Aanand L Rai’s latest directorial Atrangi Re starring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar received positive reviews from critics. However, the reaction from the audience was polarising.
Regardless of that, the movie has broken viewership records on Disney+ Hotstar, the OTT platform it premiered on.
While the Atrangi Re has started a conversation on social media with people in favour and opposing it, die-hard fans of Akshay Kumar noticed something completely unique and interesting in one of the sequences of the film.

In Atrangi Re, there is a scene where Akshay’s character Sajjad is scolding Sara’s character Rinku as he says, “Mujhe nahin achcha lagta. Maaroonga Ek Kheech Ke Tumhein. Badtameez. B category ke C class log (I don't like all this. I will slap you. Ill-mannered. B category’s C class people).”

Interestingly, this phrase, “B category ke C class log” isn’t the first time Akshay has said in a film.
15 years ago, in 2006, he repeated the same dialogue in the cult hit, Phir Hera Pheri.
During the sequence when Shyam, Raju and Baburao ambush Munna while in clown attire, Akshay’s Raju asks Paresh Rawal’s Baburao about a rope. Babu Bhaiya then responds saying he forgot to bring it. Raju then replies, “Rassi bhool gaye bewakoof? B category ke C class log (You forgot the rope? B category’s C class people).”

That’s not all, this particular dialogue goes way back in Akshay’s filmography and can be traced back to 1997, 24 years before the release of Atrangi Re.

In the 1997 release Aflatoon, Akshay says the same dialogue to his co-star Sharad Sankla who is playing his friend.
Akshay says, “B category ke C class log. Chote log. Na jaane inki aukaat kya hoti hai. Nadi mein paida hote hain aur naale me mar jaate hain (B category’s C class people. Cheap people. Who knows what their stature is? They are born in rivers and die in drains).”
An Akshay Kumar fan club compiled the clips from three movies and shared it on their Instagram page. Take a look at it below:
