'Atrangi Re', 'Phir Hera Pheri', 'Aflatoon' - A Case Of 3 Akshay Films Feat. Same Dialogue

Aanand L Rai’s latest directorial Atrangi Re starring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar received positive reviews from critics. However, the reaction from the audience was polarising.

Regardless of that, the movie has broken viewership records on Disney+ Hotstar, the OTT platform it premiered on.

While the Atrangi Re has started a conversation on social media with people in favour and opposing it, die-hard fans of Akshay Kumar noticed something completely unique and interesting in one of the sequences of the film.

In Atrangi Re, there is a scene where Akshay’s character Sajjad is scolding Sara’s character Rinku as he says, “Mujhe nahin achcha lagta. Maaroonga Ek Kheech Ke Tumhein. Badtameez. B category ke C class log (I don't like all this. I will slap you. Ill-mannered. B category’s C class people).”

Interestingly, this phrase, “B category ke C class log” isn’t the first time Akshay has said in a film.

15 years ago, in 2006, he repeated the same dialogue in the cult hit, Phir Hera Pheri.

During the sequence when Shyam, Raju and Baburao ambush Munna while in clown attire, Akshay’s Raju asks Paresh Rawal’s Baburao about a rope. Babu Bhaiya then responds saying he forgot to bring it. Raju then replies, “Rassi bhool gaye bewakoof? B category ke C class log (You forgot the rope? B category’s C class people).”

That’s not all, this particular dialogue goes way back in Akshay’s filmography and can be traced back to 1997, 24 years before the release of Atrangi Re.

In the 1997 release Aflatoon, Akshay says the same dialogue to his co-star Sharad Sankla who is playing his friend.

Akshay says, “B category ke C class log. Chote log. Na jaane inki aukaat kya hoti hai. Nadi mein paida hote hain aur naale me mar jaate hain (B category’s C class people. Cheap people. Who knows what their stature is? They are born in rivers and die in drains).”

An Akshay Kumar fan club compiled the clips from three movies and shared it on their Instagram page. Take a look at it below:
