    As the year inches towards its end, we are all somewhere or the other making a mental list about the best and worst of 2021. Best moments, movies, songs and whatnot.  
    And while we may have explored quite a lot of hits and misses in this last month of 2021, one that we probably didn’t touch base upon is the ‘best dish of 2021’.
    You see, this was the year that we spent dealing with the after-effects of Covid, with spending most (if not all) time in our homes. And one thing that came naturally to all of us during this time of sitting at home was ordering food from outside. 
    After having maxed out on our use of apps like Zomato and Swiggy, Zomato has released a report sharing the most ordered foods were in 2021! And you’d be surprised to see what topped the list!

    Coming victorious on the first number is India’s favourite and most ordered dish -Biryani, which as the stats show, had an average of being ordered 115 times per minute! And with this, Zomato ended up delivering 2 Biryanis every 2 seconds.

    At the same time, one food item that was every street food lover’s fantasy - momos earned quite a few fans for itself. There were almost 10,666,095 momo lovers in 2021, of which we were definitely one.  
    Meanwhile, There were also a lot of Samosa and Vada Pav lovers in the mix, 7,297,152 and 3,157,424 respectively!

    But one of the most interesting insights of this entire report and analysis wasn’t any of this, but the fact that Zomato also ended up finding out the most popular couple of 2021 and turns out, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif weren’t it!

    Beating one of the most talked-about couples of India, especially after the #VicKat wedding, Zomato revealed that the actual most popular couple of 2021 was Paneer Butter Masala and Butter Naan, after which came Vicky and Katrina. And if we were being honest, they earned it, after being ordered for more than 1.1 million times!

    The fun and insightful Zomato report also shed how Dosa was in fact the most ordered dish after Biryani, with over 8.8 million orders placed for it. 

    Guess that’s a pretty heavy wrap for 2021 and with Delhi having been put on ‘Yellow alert’ for Omicron, we won’t be surprised if Zomato sales will boost once again, supporting us through an imminent lockdown, yet again.

    Ranveer Singh, who is sharing screen space with wife Deepika Padukone in his latest release 83, has revealed that he has always been too secure and is the happiest person seeing her achievements. The actor, who is getting a great response from fans and critics for his performance as the former cricketer Kapil Dev in 83, shared this while answering a question about Deepika being a bigger star than him when they tied the knot. 
    In an interview with Film Companion, when pointed out that Deepika earned more than him, Ranveer said, "I feel good when people tell me that I allowed the other actor to shine. That’s just who I am. I can’t be any other way. I have always been this secure person. I feel very happy for my wife when she achieves. There’s nobody prouder than me".
    Talking about Deepika's reaction to his work in 83, he shared, "I’m getting a lot of love and affection from my harshest critic – my best friend, my wife who makes no bones about telling me like it is whenever they have to. This time it’s unanimous. She’s very arty type, who also very rarely likes my mainstream stuff".
    After getting delayed several times amid the COVID-19 pandemic, 83 finally hit the big screens this Christmas weekend. While Ranveer is happy with the appreciation coming his way, the film is underperforming at the box office. It opened below expectations and failed to register the expected growth over the opening weekend which included the Christmas holiday. 
    According to the latest reports, Ranveer may have to let go of a major chunk of his pending fees as the film is expecting to face losses. For the unversed, 83 was bankrolled by various producers including Sajid Nadiadwala, Deepika Padukone, and Kabir Khan.

    After rocking the industry with his smash-hit movie, Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is making a comeback as he has stepped into the shoes of a cricketer in the Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film Jersey. The film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who was also the director of the Telugu version of the film. It is a story of a former cricket player who tries to revive his career but fails miserably. It is about a man who aspires to get back into sports in his mid-40s but faces several complications.

    For the fans who were waiting for the release of the movie on December 31st, they will have to wait to watch the movie on the big screens. Yes, you heard it right! The movie has been postponed amid the rising Covid-19 cases and the fear of the omicron variant. A statement released by the makers said that the release has been postponed due to the “new Covid guidelines.”
    The statement read, “In view of the current circumstances and new Covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!” Film critic Taran Adarsh too, confirmed the same on Twitter, “#Xclusiv... #BreakingNews... #Jersey POSTPONED... WON'T RELEASE ON 31 DEC... New date will be announced shortly...     In an earlier conversation with Indian Express, Shahid had spoken about the audience returning to the theaters. He said, “I think if the film is good, it finds its place. In the last two years, because of the pandemic, theaters were shut for so long, and there are many films waiting to be released. There were many people who did not release their films fearing that many movies were coming out together. But I believe that if you believe in your product and if you are passionate and if you have the conviction in you, then you’ll know that the audience has one week to decide how they like my film. It doesn’t matter what film comes before us or after us, every film has its own destiny.”
    People on Twitter are upset with this news and want the makers to release the movie on OTT platforms.

    Asim Riaz, who became a household name after his stint in Bigg Boss 13, is continuously trending on Twitter since last night due to a cryptic tweet. In the controversial post, Asim has taken a sly dig at people dancing soon after losing their loved ones to death.
    The tweet made SidNaaz fans angry who claimed that he apparently taunted Shehnaaz Gill as a few videos recently went viral on social media in which the Honsla Rakh star is seen dancing and enjoying herself after a long time post Sidharth Shukla’s untimely demise.
    However, Asim has now finally clarified that his tweet was not directed towards Shehnaaz. Taking to Twitter, he issued a clarification stating that he lost one of his good friends from Jammu last month and the tweet was for some of his other friends from the same group who are currently partying in Goa. 
    The statement reads, “Guys, I got your attention and I think I need to clear this now.. I lost one of my good friends last month from Jammu and few of my friends from the same group are partying Ryt now in Goa.. so I was actually telling them not who u all are assuming and remember if I wanna say anything I have those guts to come up and say it directly”. 
    He added, “I have close ones too, I have my hommies around too so stop targeting stop taking out loopholes and stop taking sympathy”.

    Well, it is great that Asim has finally cleared the confusion. 

    For the unversed, TV star and Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla passed away on September 2 after a cardiac arrest. The news of his demise came as a shock to his family, friends, and fans. Shehnaaz too wasn’t in the right state of mind and took a break from work.

    After Shandaar, Shahid Kapoor once again shared the screen with his dad and veteran actor Pankaj Kapur in his latest release Jersey. The father-son duo turned coach and cricketer onscreen for the sports drama that also stars Mrunal Thakur.

    Shahid and Mrunal recently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show hosted by comedian and television host Kapil Sharma where they talked about the film. Kapil asked Shahid if he takes feedback from his father on acting after a scene is shot.

    To this Shahid replied,  “I ask him. But it is not his nature to comment on others’ acting. I think it is because he is such a superior actor that he finds others’ acting very bad. He must be thinking that he can’t explain so much to the other person, so it’s better to just praise.”

    Pankaj Kapur is one of the greatest actors who has been working for over four decades in Hindi films, television and theatre. 

    “He is so good as an actor that it doesn’t make sense to ask him. For him, it will always be a bad shot. But sometimes, he says that he liked what I did. And it’s very special for me,” Shahid added.
    Kapil then goes on to ask if he ever has any feedback to give on his kissing scenes and Shahid’s response was hilarious. 
    He asked, “Tell me one thing. I am doing such a scene and my dad is present there, why will this happen?”. He imitated his dad’s probable reaction if he were on the set where his son Shahid was about to shoot a kissing scene.

    He said, “Aur beta, aaj kaunsi shooting chal rahi hai? Oho, Mrunal bhi aayi hai (So, son, what are you shooting today? Oh, Mrunal is also here). What are the dialogues of today’s scene?” 

    Adding to this, Kapil said, “Actor toh main bade kamaal ka hoon lekin kismat teri badi kamaal ki hai (I am a great actor but you are the one with great luck).”

    It's been a wonderful year for Punjab-born Miss Universe Winner Harnaaz Sandhu. 
    The 21-year-old beauty made India proud by winning the Miss Universe 2021 beauty pageant, bringing the title back home after a period of 21 years.

    Now, having seen many models making their way into Bollywood, it looks like Harnaaz could be going down a similar path.

    Speaking during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Harnaaz was asked about which Bollywood actress' biopic would she like to be a part of if she had the choice.
    Now, while there is obviously no dearth of talent and beauty within the Bollywood industry, gave the name of Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.

    Speaking with Bollywood Hungama, she said, "(I would choose) Priyanka Chopra. I would love to love to be part of that. I think she has inspired me throughout her journey and she will keep on inspiring millions of us."

    We don't really blame her really. I mean, in all honesty, Priyanka has reached certain heights that not many can think of.
    Having conquered Bollywood, the actress is now plying her trade in Hollywood, with The Matrix Resurrections being the latest project she is a part of.

    As it turns out, this is not the first time Harnaaz spoke about her love and preference for Priyanka.
    In an old video, Harnaaz spoke about Priyanka after winning Miss Diva 2021. “I love Priyanka Chopra. So whatever lessons I can learn from her is nevertheless. So I will always choose Priyanka. Priyanka Chopra has been my biggest inspiration. She has created her own brand and represented India not only in beauty pageants but also through her acting and singing talent. She has made India proud and I am hoping to follow her footsteps and bring glory back the way she did." said Harnaaz.
    If we really think about it, there might just be parallels between Priyanka and Harnaaz, due to their background.
    While she obviously would have to work really hard to reach where Priyanka is, one can only be proud of what all she has achieved at the age of 21.
    However, as it turns out, Priyanka too lavished praise on Harnaaz when she won Miss Universe 2021. 
    “I was very excited about it. The last time India had a Miss Universe was Lara Dutta in the year 2000. That was the year that I won Miss World as well. She (Harnaaz) has brought home the crown after 21 years and she is 21, so she was born in the year that I won Miss World. I’m so excited for her and I hope this is the beginning of an incredible journey. She’s very smart and gorgeous, obviously, and I’m very excited for her.” said Priyanka.

    *** addiction is not a myth and it's time we start talking about it. *** addiction is a serious issue and several Hollywood celebrities, who struggled with it, are coming forward to spread awareness about this problem. Most recently, in an interview, Oscar-nominated actor James Franco revealed being a *** addict while talking about the accusations of sexual misconduct against him by five women.  
    He is not the only Hollywood star who has talked about his struggle with *** addiction. In the past, various known names including Kanye West and Colin Farrell too had confessed to being *** addicts. Below, take a look at the list of 5 Hollywood celebs who struggled with this problem:

    Every time we think we as a whole, as a unit, as a country are taking one step forward, it only takes one mindless action to remind us that we’re also taking two steps back. 
    A realisation that hit us yet again after we came across a circular for a counselling session by JNU on sexual harassment, which made us cringe more than the latest Matrix Resurrections.
    A circular that was supposed to spread awareness on the matter, ended up doing something completely opposite and counter-productive, considering the only thing it was able to spread was sexism. 
    The circular that has drawn a lot of ire on social media reeked of victim shaming as it said things like, “girls are supposed to know how to draw a tangible line between them and their male friends."

    This was in accordance with the session on sexual harassment the internal complaints committee (ICC) of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is supposed to host on January 17. 
    The uploaded circular even spoke about how such sessions will be organised on a monthly basis with the intention of making students aware of what consists of sexual harassment.
    However, after seeing the kinds of things the circular was promoting in the name of spreading awareness, students decided to have none of it and lashed back at them.

The ICC time and again in JNU has passed such regressive remarks or conducted itself in a way to moral police the survivor.”
    Ghosh went on to say, “Such a remark, creates a space where harassment in such lines will become rampant and will lead to become an unsafe space for women.” Meanwhile a lot of people on social meda also called out the JNU circular for perpetuating a victim blaming mentality.
