Sunny Deol recently shot for Sony TV's The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotion of his son Karan Deol's next film Velley. Karan and his co-stars Visshesh Tiwari and Savant Singh Premi too accompanied the Ghayal actor. When Kapil asked Sunny if he's comfortable doing romantic scenes in front of his son and father Dharmendra, the Damini star said, "He (Karan Deol) was an infant when I was shooting for a film with Juhi Chawla. So, in one scene I hug her and all that. It was a song sequence. He was behind me, in my cousin`s arms. So during that scene he started to cry loudly".

Velley is directed by Deven Munjal while Ajay Devgn has produced it. Also featuring Abhay Deol and Mouni Roy, the movie is a remake of the Telugu comedy - Brochevarevarura. It is slated to release on the big screen on 10 December.Β

For the unversed, Karan made his Bollywood debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas which was released in 2019. Directed by father Sunny Deol, Karan's debut film starred another newcomer Sahher Bambba as the female lead. The trade had high expectations from the movie, however, it tanked at the box office.Β
Velley is Karan's second movie and he will also be seen playing a pivotal role in Apne 2. Besides him, the second instalment of the 2007 film Apne also stars his grandfather Dharmendra, father Sunny Deol, and uncle Bobby Deol. The much-awaited project will be helmed by Anil Sharma who also directed the first part.Β
On the other hand, Sunny recently started shooting for Gadar 2. In the much-awaited sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the actor will be seen reprising the role of Tara Singh while Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma too will be returning as Sakeena and Jeete respectively.

The Indian Premier League (IPL)Β franchises did not dish out any major surprises as we pretty much had an idea which players ranked higher in every franchise’s priority list.
While some top names like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni took a major pay cut, uncapped Indian players like Varun Chakaravarthy (8 cr), Venkatesh Iyer (8 cr), Ruturaj Gaikwad (6 cr), Abdul Samad and Arshdeep Singh (both 4 cr) saw their hit the roof -- they were previously on a 20 lakh annual contract-- after their respective franchises showed faith in their talent.
A complete breakdown of the VIVO IPL 2022 Player Retention.

    More details here - https://t.co/osE28OG4VS #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/TcTpKaznKd
    β€” IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) November 30, 2021
Some of the big names who lit up the tournament with their performances were left out of the retention list due to various reasons. But the biggest name that’s making the headlines is former Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul, with reports suggesting that he was allegedly approached by the new Lucknow franchise.

The RPGS Group-backed franchise has allegedly offered Rahul a huge pay check of more than Rs 20 crore to ditch the Punjab-based outfit and become a leader of their team.
    View this post on Instagram
And as expected Rahul didn’t feature in the IPL player retention list as he rejected the offers made by the PBKS management and decided to go back into the auction. However, it will be interesting to see if he indeed goes to the auction or joins one of the two new franchises before that.Β
Given Rahul’s performance in the last few years, it was only natural that the team based out of Mohali wanted to keep a hold of him but the opener decided to look for a fresh challenge. As of now nobody can tell if it was Rahul’s own decision or if he initiated back-channel talks with a new IPL team regarding his future.

Opening up on the matter for the first time, PBKS co-owner Ness WadiaΒ said that they obviously wanted to retain Rahul and added that if he was approached by another franchise with the retention window still open, then it would be β€œunethical” and β€œagainst BCCI guidelines”.Β
β€œWe wanted to retain Rahul but he wanted to go back into the auction. If he has been approached by another franchise before that, it would be unethical,” Ness Wadia was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.Β
The new Lucknow franchise has reportedly offered KL Rahul - 20 crores and Rashid Khan - 16 crores to join their team.

β€œI hope not because that is against the guidelines set by the BCCI,” he added.Β
Apart from Rahul, another star player who was allegedly approached by the Lucknow franchise was Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan and even rejected the offers made by SunRisers Hyderabad.

According to reports, the BCCI has received a verbal complaint from both the franchises against Lucknow’s illegal approach and if the players are found guilty, they could be banned from IPLΒ for one year.

β€” IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) November 30, 2021 With KL Rahul deciding to part ways, the franchise decided to retain only two players Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh -- least among all teams. However, this is not something they are new to. They have done it many times in the past.Β

β€” Rohit Sankar (@imRohit_SN) November 30, 2021 If letting go of their biggest asset was a setback, the only positive to come out of all this is that they will enter the auction with the highest purse (Rs 72 crore) among all existing eight teams, which allows them to bid aggressively in the upcoming mega auction.

Days after stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui made headlines after he revealed that his 12 shows have been cancelled in the last two months, another stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has now shared a statement on social media where he has mentioned that his shows in Bengaluru scheduled over a span of 20 days have been cancelled.Β

While Munawar claimed that the reason for the cancellation of his shows was the "threat to venue vandalism", Kunal has put out two reasons.Β
He says that he didn't get the permission to seat 45 people at a venue that can seat more and secondly, threats were made to shut down the venue if he was allowed to perform.Β
Kunal captioned his statement post as "Cancelling comedy shows 101" and also added a sarcastic 5-step process on "how to cancel a show". He also compared the cancellation of his shows to that of Munawar Faruqui's and said that people can β€œfind solace in the fact that the ruling class is at-least trying to oppress with equality.”

A lot of Twitter users also reacted to Kunal’s statement. One user responded in his support saying, β€œSoon the comedy scene in India will be all about, A guy sitting in front of computer streaming game or reacting to reddit posts with some of his friends. and 15 years old paying Rs 40 superchat for shouting his name.”
Another user mocked Kunal and wrote, β€œWait. Which Bangalorean was paying to see this guy make jokes?Β  What happened to our sense of humour?”

Bhakts here want to cancel shows of comedians. But if a comedian performs abroad, they complain ki 'Ghar ke problems bahar jaake kyu bola' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Convert this into an opportunity to bring more civility in your comedy shows . Making public laugh at someone's cost is not true humour sir . Please reflect
β€” Mohan M Prasad (@MohanMPrasad) December 1, 2021 Harish Pandey, Deputy Commissioner of Police -Β  South Division, Bengaluru City, told NDTV that the organisers cancelled the show on their own after a few residents from the neighbourhood gathered outside the venue and demanded cancellation of Kunal’s shows because as per them he used expletives in his social media post.Β
He said, β€œWe are not very sure why exactly the show has been cancelled. We did not get in touch with the artist. In fact, a few people had gathered before the venue yesterday demanding the organisers cancel the show. According to them, he used expletives in his previous posts and it seemed very controversial. These people who gathered before the venue included the residents in the neighbourhood. No complaints have been lodged so far. Looks like the organisers cancelled the show on their own. They hadn't asked us for any protection”.
