Imagine Salman Khan or ‘bhai’ as he is lovingly called, playing a negative role in a movie. Well, it would have been quite interesting had this project, which got shelved years ago, come to life. Turns out when E.Nivas released his movie Shool starring Manoj Bajpayee, it caught the eye of Salman who truly wanted to work with the director who was known for his artistic cinema.

Salman Khan was super impressed with E Nivas’ work after watching ‘Shool’, and reached out to him. After several meetings with him, producer Ram Gopal Varma and his brother Sohail Khan, the finalised a project titled Goli which was supposed to show him in a negative avatar and was based on the life of a real life gangster. The director even decided to heighten the protagonist’s EQ and wrote the character in a way that it was supposed to flaunt a locket made out of a bullet.

Salman Khan along with brother Sohail Khan, E Nivas and Ram Gopal Verma held multiple meetings to discuss the massive project. After everything got finalised, the director reportedly dropped the project. Turns out that RGV, who was the producer, was keen on directing Salman and even offered him a script. However, Bhai’s interests lied with the original movie written by E.Nivas, and chose to work with the Shool director instead. The director apparently decided to quit the project  in order to not upset his mentor RGV and eventually, the film never really started. The actor-director duo almost came together yet again for another shelved project titled Ateet, which was later made as Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, which starred Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen and Dia Mirza in the lead roles.

While the musicians have decided to remain best friends, their fans are not at all happy with this development. Not just Cabello and Mendes, we have found out other singer couples as well who were once together and ended their relationship leaving everyone in shock.

Rihanna and Chris BrownLong before being linked romantically, the pair first met each other as teenagers in 2005 when they were just starting out in the music industry. After the success of Rihanna's Umbrella, Chris teamed up with her for the first time on a remix. Later, they even performed the remix version during her Asia tour and people could see their on-stage chemistry. Later, in 2008, it was finally revealed that the duo was dating each other.
However, in 2009, everything changed. As per reports, a night before the 2009 Grammys, Chris brutally assaulted Rihanna and left her with multiple bruises. He was then arrested and was sentenced to five years of probation. Rihanna even filed for a restraining order, according to which, Chris wasn't allowed within 50 years of her.
Several years later, RiRi forgave Chris and dropped the restraining order in 2011. They rekindled their romance in 2012 and broke up again in 2013. After their split, both of them moved on with other partners.
Rihanna and DrakeIn 2009, the duo was first spotted together after which their relationship rumours started doing the rounds on social media. In 2010, Drake confirmed that they were together for a brief period. However, later in the same year, they collaborated for What’s My Name and rekindled their love. Then, in 2011, they parted ways again. Rihanna and Drake again teamed up for the song Take Care and their fans were happy to see them together. But, they stated that they were just friends.
Later, in 2014, the love birds were again snapped together holding hands. Till 2017, the pair was in a happy space together, however, they soon went separate ways. Since then, they haven't yet collaborated.
Miley Cyrus and Nick JonasAs per Miley Cyrus' autobiography, Miles To Go, she met Nick in 2006 for the first time and they immediately hit it off. In 2007, the Disney heartthrobs were pretty serious about each other and were spotted together at various events. As mentioned by Cyrus in the book, she and 'her Prince Charming' parted ways on 19 December 2007 which was the hardest day for her.
Even after ending their relationship, Miley and Nick had to cross paths several times due to professional reasons. A year after their split, they were snapped having lunch together which sparked rumours of the reunion. However, eventually, she ended up dating Liam Hemsworth and they exchanged wedding vows in 2018 after being together for years. Liam and Miley then parted ways in August 2019 and finalised their divorce in January 2020. On the other hand, Nick is happily married to Priyanka Chopra.
Justin Bieber and Selena GomesThey first started dating in late 2010 and split up in November 2012. They got back together for a short period and then parted ways again three months later. This on-again, off-again routine went on for years, during which Gomez dated Zedd while Bieber was spotted with several love interests. Indian cinema is scarred when it comes to a deeper understanding of topics like sexism, feminism, and the portrayal of genders. Many Bollywood movies have promoted sexism blatantly and how women characters have to leave their individuality to be with the man of their dreams. Main Hoon Na is not an exception to this criticism. It’s sad how Amrita Rao’s character Sanjana wasn’t accepted by Lucky played by Zayed Khan when she was herself.
    View this post on Instagram
It’s disappointing to see how Sanjana transforms from a “tomboy” like character into an ‘ideal’ Indian woman with straight hair and clothes that show her feminine side. It was after her transformation, Lucky falls in love with her. Shah Rukh Khan’s character Ram, in fact, sent Sanjana to Sushmita Sen’s character to help her change her transform into this avatar.

People on social media have now started a conversation wherein they are sharing their opinions about how Sanjana deserved way better than Lucky. They felt she was selfless and only loved Lucky despite his flaws. Lucky chose to go for her after her transformation. People are bashing Lucky for being a loser.

In an interview with IANS, Amrita talked about what made people notice her in the movie. She said, “Before the era of social media and PR machinery that we are seeing these days, an actor’s popularity and celebrity status was a byproduct of his or her talent. When I entered the industry as a teenager and appeared in films like Ishq Vishk, Masti, and Main Hoon Naa, people noticed me because of my performance, although a film like Main Hoon Na has superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen. These days, actors are becoming popular also because of their presence on social media. I think for an actor, being remembered for a character and film is more important.”

She went on to add, “There is nothing wrong with becoming a popular celebrity on social media, just that there is a huge change that has happened. I entered the industry during the transition period. Earlier, it was important to have talent and as artists, we used to sharpen our skills. Now there is something called talent management! In a way, it is a good cultural change that lets artists feel more secure with job opportunities”

Another one from the Johar Verse, this film is pretty much the prototype for all Dharma Productions considering every other movie that has been made by Karan Johar is somewhere or the other connected to this one film that even though was advertised as a romantic drama, was in fact a sci-fi thriller where till the end we struggle to find out just how hard did puberty have to hit little Rohan’s character for him to turn out the way he did.
    © Dharma Productions
The movie starts with a cricket match at a school abroad, where after several close-up shots of Rohan aka Hrithik Roshan’s spot-free shoes and a monologue in the background that basically asks you to close your eyes right before a ball is thrown at you (a simple recipe for being hit in the face real hard), we are shown just how self-centered Rohan is, as he continues to laud himself in an email he is sending to his parents.

    © Dharma Productions
But we can’t blame the apple falling not far from the tree, because we soon realise that he has taken after his father -Yashvardhan Raichand who is just as narcissistic in the movie as his son. Slightly more, tbh.

    © Dharma Productions
Rohan is all set to go back to India to his family for Diwali but decides to make a pitstop to meet his grandmothers - Nani and Dadi, both of whom lack a sense of peripheral vision, considering they spill family secrets like its tea right in front of Rohan.

    © Dharma Productions
Turns out Rohan’s elder brother - Rahul aka Shahrukh Khan is adopted. Not only that, he has been banished from the Raichand house and that takes us into a flashback that starts with one of many songs you’d like to skip ahead.

    © Dharma Productions
Rahul arrives at his place in a damn helicopter, and what we’re calling a mere house here is pretty easily the size of the goddamn Buckingham Palace.

    © Dharma Productions
But that is not the most surprising part either, what is, is that it is somewhere placed in Delhi, and considering how cramped our lanes are here, we really wanted to know the way to this secret Raichand palace with a helipad.

    © Dharma Productions
Rahul is everyone’s favorite, except Rohan’s, whom he keeps fat-shaming every chance he gets. But depicting the irony of every Indian household where a child is shamed for his weight and yet fed parathas every morning laden with ghee, Rohan too is put on a strictly unhealthy diet by his Dai Jaan aka DJ, who is hired simply to coddle Rohan and tie his laces.

    © Dharma Productions
Anyhow, Rahul is free-spirited and a momma’s boy, while always feeling the need to be validated by his father, who for the first part of the film is busy dancing with women on his anniversary and deciding who Rahul should marry because, parampara. Which is code for social status and societal pressure in this movie.

    via GIPHY
While Yash is busy throwing male prejudice in the air like it's confetti, by trying to set Rahul up with Naina (Rani Mukherjee), Rahul is busy falling for Anjali, daughter of a confectioner in Chandni Chowk.

    via GIPHY
After a few accidental bump-ins where Anjali is breaking vases all across the Raichand house, Rahul finds himself head over heels in love with Anjali and shows that by kissing her on the cheek, without consent of course, because what is that anyway right?
    © Dharma Productions
Between Rahul and Anjali’s lovestory blooming and Rohan getting traumatised by Pooja (Anjali’s younger sister and future Kareena Kapoor), Anjali and Pooja’s father - Bau Ji played by the Bollywood’s one and only - Alok Nath, passes on.

    © Dharma Productions
As a result, Rahul marries Anjali and Mr. Raichand banishes him from the estate and his inheritance, also throwing a nasty dig at his son for being adopted. Talk about problematic dads.

    © Dharma Productions
That brings us to the kitty party Rohan’s Nani and Dadi are having that let him in on everything that went down when he was sent to the boarding school. So, Rohan decides to step up and bring his bhaiya and bhabhi back home - which made this movie a Bollywood mission impossible.

    © Dharma Productions
With a simple search on a website that looks perfect for any stalker to have a gala time at, he finds his brother’s exact address in London and subsequently manages to enroll in the same university as Pooja who has now transformed from a Chandni Chowk girl to a British hottie called ‘Pooh’.

    via GIPHY
Pooh is hot, runs her own ‘Mean girls’ pack and is as superficial as it gets. Her motto in life is - ‘Good looks, good looks and good looks’ and by that we meant Kareena Kapoor’s.

    © Dharma Productions
And Pooh is no different of course, using boys to get her way and rating them on their looks, because Bollywood loves perpetuating such mean and unrealistic beauty standards.

    © Dharma Productions
Pooh and Rohan reunite after a tough round of tongue-twister, and she manages to get Rohan the permission to stay at their house by making up a story about him being from India and playing to Anjali’s ‘I love my India’ side. Rahul is not thrilled about it, but agrees after learning his name to be similar to that of his father.

    via GIPHY
Anjali, Rahul, their son -Krish, Pooja and DJ have built a little life for themselves in London and Rohan decides to uproot all of it because why should he be the only one having to put up with Daddy Raichand’s crap.

    via GIPHY
The family dynamic is simple - Rahul is a miser, Anjali is a patriot, Pooh is constantly asked to cover up her clothes because apparently her clothes are as short as Indian society’s tolerance for women making their own choices.
    © Dharma Productions
A lot of drama, staging and songs featuring Hrithik Roshan’s biceps and Kareena’s bold fashion choices, Rohan’s true identity is finally revealed. After all, can you blame Rahul for not recognising Rohan? The man turned from a potato to a Greek god, for Christ’s sake.

    © Dharma Productions
As a final part of his elaborate plan, Rohan makes Anjali and Rahul bump into Nandini and Yash after tricking them to come to London. Things don’t end too differently for Rohan, who also gets slapped for going against his father’s back. However, tragedy strikes and Dadi passes away.

    © Dharma Productions
The two sons and father come together to cremate her and Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) finally gets some screen time in the 3.5 hour long film. Calling Yash ‘not a god’, as Indian women are often taught to, Nandini gives it back to Yashvardhan for being the selfish and narcissistic prick that he has been.

    © Dharma Productions
Yash then instead of accepting his fault, starts crying and blaming Rahul for leaving and not coming back. Because how can a grown ass man accept his own mistake in front of a son he banished, right?

    © Dharma Productions
All’s well that ends well, the two families come together and we are given a template for a family photograph for years to come.

    The End.

Rahul Dravid’s appointment as the head coach of India's senior men’s cricket team came as a huge relief for the millions of fans, who had been waiting for this moment for so long.
Having impressed with his coaching role at the India Under-19, India A, and National Cricket Academy (NCA), the fans thought the former batting great would be the perfect candidate to replace Ravi Shastri and take the Indian cricket forward.
    View this post on Instagram
But convincing Dravid to commit to a full-time job wasn’t easy but the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who shared the same dressing with the Karnataka batter for the major part of his international career, along with secretary Jay Shah somehow were able to change his mind.
Most of the fans were confident that Dravid was the BCCI’s first-choice for the coveted role and that it was a one-legged race, with no other candidate in the fray. However, it seems like Dravid wasn’t the only candidate on the BCCI’s mind. The board officials had approached another legendary cricketer with the proposal of becoming the next head coach of India during the IPL 2021 in the UAE.
    View this post on Instagram
This cricketer was none other than Australian legend Ricky Ponting, the current head coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals. The former Australia skipper turned down the job because he wasn’t ready to commit around 300 days in a year away from his family.
Apart from family reasons, he also didn’t want to give up his role at the IPL with DC and his broadcasting deal with a leading Australia channel.

“...But [in this job] I am living in India for 300 days a year. Yeah, look I had a couple of conversations with some people during the IPL about it. You know the people I spoke to were pretty hell-bent on trying to find a way to make it work because the first thing I said was 'I just can't give up that time, it will mean I can't coach in the IPL, I'll have to give up [Channel] 7 stuff in the summer, it just can't work'. But it's nice to have people thinking you might be able to do these big jobs but there's a lot more to come with it than saying yes or no to a coaching gig,” Ponting said on The Grade Cricketer podcast.
Responding to Dravid’s appointment, Pontng said he was surprised when came to know that he accepted the role, despite reports suggesting that he was happy with the work he was doing at the NCA, grooming India’s next line of players.
    © Instagram/Indian Cricket Team
“I am surprised that Dravid has done it as well. There was a lot of chat about how happy he was in his Under-19 role or the academy role he had. I am not sure much about his family life but I am pretty sure he's got youngish kids, at least one anyway. [But] as I said the people I spoke to - they were going to make sure that they get exactly the right person so would have been able to convince Dravid to do it,” added Ponting, who guided Australia to back-to-back ODI World Cups in 2003 and 2007.

Until now most of us thought that Dravid was the BCCI’s top-pick to replace Shastri but Ponting’s claim has raised a big big question. Was Dravid the BCCI's first-choice? If Yes, why did the BCCI officials approach the Delhi Capitals head coach? Or did the BCCI push for Dravid only after Ponting had refused the role?
If we understand the chronology, the fans had always been pushing for Dravid’s name and it gained voice on social media when it was revealed that he would be travelling with the side to Sri Lanka. But the BCCI hierarchy always knew convincing him would be a tough nut to crack.
    © Twitter/BCCI
The NCA director role was based out of his hometown of Bengaluru and he was happy doing that. The BCCI hadn’t released any notification but the talks were on through back channels but Dravid didn’t budge.

When Dravid reapplied for his NCA job, it gave the BCCI a clear signal that he wasn’t interested. This is perhaps when they decided to look for alternatives and approached Ponting with the offer during the IPL.
    © Reuters
But sadly, he also didn’t show any interest and the Indian board was left with no choice but to approach Dravid once again. For a player who was ready to take a bullet for the team throughout his playing career couldn't say no the second time and gave his consent.

Whether Dravid was the first-choice or the backup plan, unless someone comes out and speaks on it publicly we would never know the real truth.
