State Bank of India is the largest public sector bank in India. However, its employees have always been accused and trolled for being sloppy and taking extended lunch breaks and neglecting customers by telling them to come later because the server is down or it’s lunch time).
© iStock
However, a customer experienced something he wasn’t expecting when he went to an SBI branch in a suburban area near Calcutta in Bengal to close his dormant account. A Reddit user Ashish shared his plight on a thread where he said that he was outright shamed and ridiculed for wearing shorts (not boxers, running shorts, he clarified).
© iStock
He wrote, “As soon as I entered one of the peons at the branch asked me to come back wearing "Full Pants" as wearing shorts is against customer decorum. I asked him, where it is written, he said "we expect customers to follow basic decency"
© iStock
He adds, “I asked him to share with me any official rule or circular and I will go back, this time in a bit louder voice. Another clerk interjected, " You go to office wearing shorts too?"
I said, "this is your office, not mine, show me a dress code for customers and I will go and change". "Aisi cheezon ka circular nahi hota" ("There are no circulars for stuff like this") he replied.”
© iStock
“After a moments silence, a female clerk shouted "Yaha do female staff hai, aapko sharam nahi aati half pant pehen ke aa gaye aap" (You should be ashamed that you're wearing shorts to the branch when there are female employees ) I retorted, "aapko sharam nahi aati, bank mein aaye customer ke kapdo par nazar rakhte hue? Apna kaam karo na aap” ( "You should be ashamed that you checkout a customers' clothing and comment on it, instead of doing your own work"), he wrote in the post.
He also tweeted about it, asking the bank if there’s any such rule for the customers.
Hey @TheOfficialSBI went to one of your branch today wearing shorts, was told that I need to come back wearing full pants as the branch expects customers to "maintain decency"
Is there some sort of an official policy on what a customer can wear and cannot wear?
— Ashish (@ajzone008) November 16, 2021
He said he retorted back from further argument and returned back home after asking the process to close the account. This was highly unacceptable and the strangest thing is many people responded saying it has happened to them as well, at various places like hospitals and a doctor’s clinic, if not bank.

However, other users said that they always go to the bank in casuals and moral policing is uncalled for. This was not expected from the employees of the largest bank in India. I mean we expect them to say “lunch ke baad aana” but not “full pants pehen ke aana”.

Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are both bankable actors of the film industry. Over the years, both of them have managed to gain admirers of their own. However, you might find this scoop to be a little surprising. Director Rajkumar Santoshi reached out to Shahid Kapoor for a movie but he rejected it and it then went to Ranbir Kapoor.
View this post on Instagram
We are talking about Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The film produced by Ramesh S. Taurani starred Ranbir and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. It was Ranbir and Katrina's first film together. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani was declared a super-hit at the box office and Ranbir won several awards for the film as well. But did you have any idea that Ranbir wasn’t the first choice?
View this post on Instagram
According to a report in Filmfare, Shahid declined the offer because he thought that the character of Prem was similar to his character in Jab We Met. He didn’t want to repeat himself and hence, he said no to the offer.
Later on, the filmmaker did collaborate with Shahid for Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. However, it did not turn out to be a hit.
In an interview, Shahid was all praises for the director who he thinks had brought out the best of his comic side in Phata Poster Nikla Hero. He said, "When I heard the script, I found it extremely entertaining. Rajji acted out every character from the film during the narration. I knew that I am with a director who is very clear about what he wanted from me as an actor. He said this is the character to entertain the audience so that they enjoy themselves with all the buffoonery that he does."
We wonder how differently the film would have turned out if Shahid was the showman of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. That being said, we feel Ranbir was meant for the role and did complete justice to it.

After close to nine months, fans returned to the cricket stadiums as India took on New Zealand in the first T20I at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Pink City was awarded an international match for the first time in eight years and the players ensured that the fans left the venue with happy faces.
While it was a complete team effort from India that saw them winning the match by five wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, there was one batter who stood out from the rest and played a key role in bringing smiles on the faces of the fans who flocked to the stadium in large numbers.

Batting at number three, Suryakumar Yadav faced exactly seven overs and blasted 62 runs, with his knock studded with six fours and three hits over the fence. Right from the moment he came into bat, the Mumbai batter dominated the New Zealand bowlers, especially the spinners.
This was his third fifty in just seven T20I innings but this knock held a special significance for the right-handed batter personally because it came on his wife Devisha’s birthday and he dedicated the innings to her.

The way he batted, it felt as if he was determined to take home the Player of the Match award. He played proper cricketing shots and hardly gave the Black Caps a sniff. That said, NZ had a clear cut chance to get him out in the 16th over of the innings but his IPL teammate Trent Boult dropped a sitter, giving him extra life.
He couldn’t make most of the opportunity and gifted his wicket trying to play a ramp shot after adding only a few more runs to his tally. After the match he thanked Boult for dropping his catch and giving his wife the “perfect gift”.

“About Trent, it's my wife's birthday also and it's a perfect gift from him,” SKY said at the post match presentation after he was adjudged the Player of the Match for his superb fifty.
When asked about his performance, he said that he puts a lot of pressure on himself during nets and tries to replicate whatever skills he practices during training in the match.

“I have not been doing anything different, just being myself whatever I have [been] doing since the last 3-4 years.
“I bat the same way in the nets and replicate the same in the middle. I try and put a lot of pressure on myself in the nets, for example if I get out I just try to come out of the nets and try and think what better I could have done and it really helps when I play in the middle,” he said, reflecting on his approach.

From the match-winning knock to the dropped catch, most of the things went his way but he was still disappointed with himself because he couldn’t finish the match and things started to drift away towards the end.
When it comes to international cricket he is still a rookie and experiences like these will only help him evolve as a better player and win many more matches for the country.
