Swara Bhaskar is one of the few celebrities in Bollywood who speaks her mind and doesn’t shy away from calling a spade a spade.
However, because of this very special trait that she possesses, she also often becomes the target of trolls, needlessly.
© Instagram/Swara Bhaskar
Even a humble selfie she posts on her social media, that people willingly follow, somehow invites hate.
She recently shared a picture of herself sitting in a park and wrote in the caption, “A sari, a park, a walk, a book... ‘at peace’ must feel like this #smalljoys #gratitude #feelingwise.”
© Instagram/Swara Bhaskar
Well, the tweet or the picture doesn’t include an opinion, a political view or anything that requires a strong reaction, however, someone clearly did not get the memo.
A user commented, “My maid looks much better than you in saree. Much more graceful than you” on her picture.
© Instagram/Swara Bhaskar
Well, if we know one thing about Swara it's that she knows how to hit back and so, she responded to the person in the most generous way.
She replied, “I’m sure your household help is beautiful. I hope you respect her labour and her dignity & don’t act like a creep with her.”
© Instagram/Swara Bhaskar
This is not the first time Swara has been trolled and certainly won’t be the last.
Before this too, she was compared to 'people from a low-income area in Mumbai, Nalasopara'. To which she said, Why the hell not you pretentious half-wit pretending to be ‘elite’... You live off the labour of those who live in the areas whose names you use like slur... #loser.”
© Instagram/Swara Bhaskar
Celebrities are no strangers to online trolls and they get the weirdest things said to them all the time. However, she has mastered the art of hitting back at the trolls in the most badass way. And, that is commendable.

A few months ago, when Neeraj Chopra had won the gold medal in the javelin throw event during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 23-year old had won a billion hearts out of the simplicity and humbleness he managed his fame and success.
He had said that all he wanted to do was focus on his career, continue to strive and become a better athlete and that things like commercial contracts, biopics and music features hold absolutely no value in his mind and heart.
View this post on Instagram
“Don’t make a biopic on me yet. I’m still playing (the sport), and would like to continue doing so. I believe there are more stories to be added to my journey, and main chahta hun aur medal leke aaun. Jab tak career chal raha hai tab tak ruk jana chahiye (for the biopic),” Chopra had said at the time of winning the gold medal.
“I want to focus on my game. I’d like it if a biopic is made on me, but after my journey is over and I retire from sports,” he had added.
Those are some pretty high standards to live by, especially when it comes to Olympic athletes who usually receive a lot of public attention, and high-paying deals, as a byproduct. A similar career trajectory could be seen in Chorpa’s case as well.
Within months of winning the medal, Chopra could be seen in a hilarious commercial in which he dealt with the ‘Typical Indian Mentality’, intrusive journalism and the overexaggerated focus that the game of cricket gets in our country.
Although, Chopra received a lot of praise and positive feedback for his acting skills in the advertisement, many also raised an eyebrow at watching him do commercial shoots and thought that he had also given in to the shine of a lucrative commercial contract, just like any other celebrity might have.
So, at the Times Now Summit 2021, Chopra was once again asked about the likelihood of the Indian audience getting to watch a biopic in his name anytime soon and here’s what the Panipat lad had to say:
"I have been approached to do biopics but I think what I have achieved is just the beginning. This was my first Olympics. I want to win more medals. I don't want the movie to flop. If I can win more medals, I think then the movie too will be a hit. Right now, my entire focus is on sports, I haven't thought about Bollywood.”

It ain’t over until it’s over. The Australians proved this adage right as they defeated Pakistan by five-wickets in a thrilling T20 World Cup semi-final in Dubai.
pic.twitter.com/sP6OeIHoib
— ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) November 11, 2021
Chasing a stiff total of 177 for a place in the final, the Aussies had half of their side back in the hut in the 13th over with only 96 runs on the scoreboard. With their backs against the wall, the experts called it Pakistan’s match to lose. But what transpired next showed why the Aussies are one of the most dangerous sides in the world and why counting them off can make you look like a fool.

— ICC (@ICC) November 11, 2021
In Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis, the Kangaroos found their heroes, with the former turning the match on its head, blasting 41 off just 17 balls. His innings was studded with two fours and four maximums, three of which came off successive deliveries bowled by Pakistan’s premier pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi as Australia finished the match with six balls to spare.

Wade, who was adjudged the Player of the Match, said that he knew this match could be the last outing for Australia and it gave him the extra motivation to seal the deal for his side.

— ICC (@ICC) November 12, 2021 “I was a little bit nervous coming into the game and knowing that potentially this could be the last opportunity I get to represent Australia. I just wanted to do well and really wanted us to win this game to give us an opportunity to win the whole thing. We've got a great bunch of guys in that dressing room and guys that I've played for a long, long period of time with,” Wade said after the match, reflecting on his unbeaten run.

— ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) November 11, 2021 The match that started at 1 am in most parts of Australia might not have attracted enough eyeballs Down Under as it did in India, with more than 40 lakh people streaming the match on the digital platform while millions watched it live on their TV sets.
As soon as Wade scooped Afridi for a six over fine leg, the fans in India were over the moon because their arch-rival, who had dealt the Men In Blue a heavy blow, were finally knocked out of the tournament.

— ICC (@ICC) November 11, 2021 The Men In Green had a terrific run to the semi-finals as they were the only unbeaten side in the tournament. The PCB chairman was so confident of his side that he had described them as invincibles and was sure of them not only reaching the final but also lifting the trophy.
As Indians celebrated Australia’s remarkable victory, they also mocked the Pakistani team for being confident and taking the opposition lightly.

— ICC (@ICC) November 11, 2021 Not just that they also found a ‘desi connection’ to the Aussie win and used it to troll the neighbouring country. The connection was nothing but the similarity between the two shots that crashed Pakistan’s dreams of winning the T20 World Cup.
In the inaugural edition back in 2007, it was Mishab-ul-Haq’s attempted ramp shot that broke millions of Pakistani hearts and more than a decade later it was Wade’s ramp shot that ended Pakistan’s unbeaten run in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
This shot will continue to haunt #Pakistan till the end of this world ; BTW overconfidence drown you'll Pakistanis! #maukamauka

India's tennis superstar Sania Mirza was in attendance at Dubai International Stadium to watch her husband Shoaib Malik play in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021 between Pakistan and Australia. Pakistan did well but lost to Australia yesterday. And that’s when people started dragging Sania Mirza into the issue and left no opportunity to troll her.
View this post on Instagram
Her presence didn't go down well with many Indian fans who couldn't stop themselves from questioning her loyalty towards the country when some cameras caught Sania rooting for her husband Shoaib. Netizens couldn’t fathom the fact that Sania Mirza, despite being an Indian, was seen rooting for the ‘enemy’ (as tweeted by people) country.
© Twitter
It was actually disturbing to see how people were bashing her on social media. One of the users wrote, “If there was a competition for #NamakHaram than Sania Mirza would have been the undisputed winner.” Another wrote, “Sania mirza is a true nationalist. She was celebrating the defeat of our enemy nation an hour prior.” Calling her names for supporting her husband who’s nearing his retirement is downright insensitive.
But fans came to her rescue and mentioned that she has always been loyal to her country. She has won many accolades for India so it’s not anyone’s right to question her for rooting for her husband.
Here are the reactions:

For the unversed, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010. And since then, they have stood with each other through thick and thin, despite being targeted for each other’s performances.
Sania was bashed then too for falling in love with a Pakistani player. In an old interview with India Today, she had recalled the moment when she had met Shoaib for the first time and had stated, “We knew each other socially and then we bumped into each other at a restaurant in Hobart where you don’t even see animals/birds after 6 pm, forget people. Must’ve been destiny that we met over there to be very honest. Only later did I realize that he had actually planned to come to the restaurant because I was there. I was giving destiny all the credit but it was clearly not.”

Someone like Sania Mirza who has represented her country at the highest levels in tennis internationally doesn't deserve to be questioned about her loyalty. It’s genuinely heartbreaking to see people call her names.

Despite a valiant effort by the Pakistan cricket team, Aaron Finch’s Australian side had too much fire power and the historical ‘clutch’ gene in themselves that allowed them to play the final moments of the knockout match with confidence and fearlessness.
Having said that, there is not a doubt in the minds of international cricket fans that the Babar Azam-led squad played better than anyone had expected. They not only proved that they too were a great cricket squad but also made a statement that they must be taken seriously.
Babar Has Really Improved his English he is quick learner in all aspects of life Champion Cricketer love to see him winning the world cup for Pakistan #BabarAzam #PakistanTeam #T20WorldCup21 pic.twitter.com/JEOq7BzgQe
— Babar Ali Bhayo (@BabarAliBhayo) November 7, 2021
However, there are some people in this world who will stop at nothing to criticise and make fun of someone else. People who look for flaws, regardless of how irrelevant they are to what the other person does.
For the Pakistani skipper, it was his ability to communicate in the English language that got his haters and trolls giggling on the internet for ages.
Itna English kaha se uthaya bhai
— Litter (@litterindia) November 12, 2021Wow !! Lovely English? Why can’t you speek fluent English while presentation and news conference
I think your PR team write this up.
— Gajab Singh (@gajabsinghji) November 12, 2021First of all you need to learn English...cause you were talking in Hindi in the presentation.. from where did you suddenly learn English..??
— Partha mukherjee (পার্থ) (@beingpartha55) November 12, 2021Itni English......presentation mai toh kuch aur hi sunai diya
— Delhiwala (@Deepakk77263272) November 12, 2021 Three important points to be mentioned here:
First, it is rather surprising to see the courage some people have for criticising others’ English when their own command over the language has gone for a toss. Secondly, expecting people to be fluent in a second language, especially when it has nothing to do with the work they do, is simply and absolutely foolish. And finally, since when did the ability to speak in English become a benchmark of success for a cricketer?
Yes, Babar Azam’s English isn’t all that good. But you know what’s good? The man ranks number one in ODIs and T20Is, and is on the seventh spot in the Test rankings as well. Additionally, the margin between him and the players in the second spots in white-ball cricket (both of whom are fluent in English, by the way) is also huge.
Sometimes, looking beyond hate and appreciating good cricket should be the way for us fans of the game and thanfully, there are still some people in this world who continue to follow such perception in life. Fans from Pakistan and India came to Azam’s support and demaned the trolls for taking cheap shots.
Why should Babar Azam be forced to speak in English at the toss presentation? Why should any player, for that matter? No insight was gained on any of the questions because he wasn't comfortable at all. Something that needs to be looked into at presentations.
— Saahil (@saahilspeaking) November 11, 2021Is there a problem with not being to speak in English? Does it make him less of a human being or illiterate? God, this fucked up mindset you lot got.
— stfu (@bleib0ruhig) November 9, 2021The Life Lesson which I Learned From @babarazam258 Carrer is that it doesn't matter from which Caste you are it doesn't matter you know fluent English or Not The Thing which matter is your Talent and Capability

— Pasha 2.0 (@PashaBhai171) November 3, 2021Stop ridiculing Babar Azam's English speaking abilities. @babarazam258 is a cricketer and not a linguistic expert. He is a lot more successful than all you English speaking fools. Go F yourselves, morons !!#PAKVSAUS
— Ahmed Ashfaq (@RopoSH_) November 11, 2021@babarazam258 you beauty! Proud of you man. The guy never let the English Language overpower him.
Today You taught me one thing that no one is perfect and always show your real self. #AUSvsPAK #pak #T20WorldCup #Cricket
— ishaanarora23 (@ishaanarora23) November 11, 2021 As far as the World Cup tournament is concerned, the partnership between Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade was one to look out for. While the former managed to pace the game and held the batting order steady on one side of the pitch, it was the latter who assumed the role of an enforcer and smashed 41 runs in just 17 deliveries to turn the tables in their favour.
Crushing the dreams of the Pakistani squad, who were the ultimate underdogs this season, the Australians, advanced to the final to take on Kane Williamson and his New Zealand squad and play for the World Cup Trophy.
