    Mallika Sherawat redefined sultriness for Bollywood heroines as soon as she made her debut. 
    She wasn’t seen drenched in rain in a chiffon saree for steamy songs and dance numbers but rather, she debuted her bold, flirty and not-so sly moves. 
    I mean, her dance step in the song ‘Jalebi Bai’ was what made the song so popular, that an international version also exists now that Gen Z taps their feet to.

    However, since Sherawat was a pro at doing Hindi item songs with so much oomph, it was obvious she was offered strange and funny suggestions to make a song meatier and apt for the male gaze. 

    The actress recently shared one such incident where a producer approached her with a ‘weird’ concept for a song sequence.

    She recalled in an interview, “In his warped thinking, he was like, ‘Bada hot song hai. Audience ko kaise pata chalega ki aap hot hai? Aap itni hot hai ki aapki kamar pe main chapati sekh sakta hoon (It’s a very hot song. How will the audience know you are hot? You are so hot that one can heat chapatis on your waist).’ Some weird notion like that. Have you ever heard of anything like that?”.

    Considering what we have been hearing about the film industry lately, this doesn’t come as a surprise. 

    Good for Mallika, she turned down the cringe-worthy suggestion and didn’t go ahead with it. Or it would have been a new low for Bollywood. 
    “I put my foot down. I said, ‘No, we are not doing any such thing,’” she said.

    She also pointed out that the perception of the attractiveness of women in India was very different and “weird” when she was out in films, which is absolutely right. 

    “I think they have a really weird perception of hotness in India for women. I don’t understand it. Of course, it’s better now but when I started my career, it was weird.” Is it better now, though?

    She did think the idea was original and funny. Well, we cannot argue with that. “But I thought it was very funny and original. It’s an original idea,” she added.

    Indian spinner and one of the more outspoken cricketers of the country, Harbhajan Singh recently raged at the BCCI selectors for ignoring two of the greatest young prospects Sheldon Jackson and Mandeep Singh, while announcing the new squads at the senior level for the home series against New Zealand and India A level which will be touring South Africa.
    Bringing out the impressive statistics of Sautrastra’s Jackson, Bhajji made his anger with the Indian selectors very evident when he asked them what else does he need to do to get a call from the national board.

    The 41-year old kept his angry streak alive by tweeting in favour of yet another potential star and Punjab captain Manpreet Singh, who had an incredible Ranji season in 2019-20 but had to stay away from the field last year as he contracted the COVID-19 virus.

    After India’s early dismissal from the T20 World Cup 2021, the Men in Blue have undergone a severe overhaul. Virat Kohli has stepped down as the captain of the T20I squad. Rohit Sharma has been promoted as the new captain. KL Rahul assumes the position of vice-captain. Ravi Shastri’s tenure as the head coach is over. And Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head of the coaching staff.

    It was also revealed by a BCCI official that Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will be rested during the T20Is series against the visiting New Zealand side. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj and Deepak Chahar have earned a call back into the squad.

    The tinsel town is abuzz with the rumours of  Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s December wedding. After being together for more than two years, the two are reportedly tying the knot in a super luxurious heritage property, Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur area. As expected, people want to know even the minutest details about their wedding.
    Meanwhile, an ETimes report has revealed that Vicky’s ex-girlfriend Harleen Sethi is currently not bothered about his wedding to Katrina Kaif. A source close to Vicky and Harleen has shared the latter‘s reaction to the former’s wedding and relationship with Katrina.

    The source said, “Harleen has moved on, in a true sense. She has deep-dived into work. She is very excited about Ekta Kapoor’s ‘The Test Case 2’ wherein the second part will revolve around her similar to how the first revolved around Nimrat Kaur. Apparently, she recently shot for a song in a film. She is in advanced talks for another web show. And of course, she was praised a lot for Ekta’s web show ‘Broken but Beautiful’.”

    As per reports, Vicky and Katrina recently had an intimate Roka ceremony. A friend close to the couple told IndiaToday that the special ceremony was held at Katrina’s friend and Ek Tha Tiger director Kabir Khan and Mini Mathur’s home.
    Reportedly, they have also finally rented a love nest for them as they plan to move to an apartment after their wedding. They will be neighbours to another power couple - Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli - who have two floors in the same building.

Varun Singh, who heads a real-estate portal, was quoted saying, “Vicky has rented an apartment in Juhu’s Rajmahal, an ultra-luxurious building, for a period of 60 months, that is 5 years. He rented the 8th-floor apartment in July 2021. The security deposit paid by Vicky Kaushal is close to Rs 1.75 crore and the rent for the initial 36 months is Rs 8 lakh per month. For the next 12 months, it is Rs 8.40 lakh per month, and for the remaining 12 months, Vicky Kaushal will pay a rent of Rs 8.82 lakh per month.”

    In a historic feat for Indian as well as Tamil Cinema, actor Suriya's Tamil film Jai Bhim, which was recently released on OTT giant Amazon Prime Video, became the highest-rated movie on IMDb. Unbelievable, right? Well, believe it, friend.
    The movie received a combined IMDb rating of 9.6/10 on its way to going atop the list that included The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, and The Dark Knight.

In third place was The Godfather, the cinematic masterpiece based on the best-selling Mario Puzo novel by the same name, with a score of 9.2/10.
    It was followed by Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, which secured fourth place with a score of 9.0/10.

    Jai Bhim, which is directed by TJ Gnanavel is based on a true event that showcases caste discrimination as well as an honest portrayal of police brutality. The legal drama film, which sees Suriya play the role of a lawyer, is based on the 1993 Cuddalore Incident where Rajakannu, a member of the Kurumbar tribal community was falsely accused of theft, to be later imprisoned, and then tortured by the Police officials.

    Rajakannu then succumbed to his injuries following which the police covered up the incident. With Rajakannu's wife still fighting for justice, Chandru, who was a lawyer at the time, fought and won her case in a landmark judgment, something that is remembered by many.

    The movie about the same incident has been garnering rave reviews with Suriya's performances also being lauded by critics and viewers. Originally shot in the Tamil language, the movie has been dubbed in multiple languages so that there is certainly no language barrier in terms of people watching the film.

    The New Zealand cricket team is passionate, respect the spirit of the game and has all the asset to dominate some of the greatest squads in the world at the moment. This is why when the Black Caps made it through to the T20 World Cup 2021 final, not a single hater could be found in the crowd.
    However, there was one man in the entire Kiwi dressing room who felt indifferent about the milestone his team and he had achieved after defeating Eoin Morgan’s England squad and inching closer to getting the sweet sweet T20 World Cup trophy. That man was Jimmy Neesham.

    In the final moments of the game, the entire New Zealand coaching staff could be seen on their feet, jumping with joy and hugging each other and then the cameraman zoomed in on a padded-up Neesham who just sat there emotionless, with his hands crossed.
    Even the commentators were surprised to see the lack of celebration on the all-rounder’s part and were wondering if something was bothering him at the moment. And as it turned out, something was indeed on his mind.

    Moments after the match, Neesham hopped on Twitter to talk about his lack of celebration. Responding to a tweet shared by ESPNCricInfo that showed his unanimated picture, the Kiwi wrote: “Job finished? I don’t think so.”
    The Kane Williamson-led side had found themselves on a similar junction a little over two years ago when they have made it to the final of the 2019 World Cup, only to lose to England based on the number of boundaries the latter had scored over the course of the match.

    And even though the Black Caps have since managed to win the Test Mace after beating India in the World Test Championship final earlier this year in England, the memories of the heartbreak from two years ago might be continuously haunting Neesham still.
    Nonetheless, the 31-year old cricketer, who enjoys a great social media following and is one of the most loved players from all over the world, went viral for his take on the whole issue and earned the respect for not celebrating his team’s achievement ahead of time.
