“Don’t try to change people; just love them. Love is what changes us.”
We’ve all heard how love can bring out the best in us - how it makes us chipper, goal-oriented and happy. But what happens when you go too far in love? When it becomes a dark obsession and brings out the ‘selfish’ in you?
Well, the latest series Girgit shows us just that.
The story revolves around people who change their traits like a girgit (chameleon) and betray their loved ones to fulfil their desires. They are not afraid to hit the depths of depravity and insanity to accomplish their selfish goals.
Take a look at the trailer:

Here are 5 characters from the show who brought out the dark side of love with their powerful performances:
    1) Nakul Roshan Sehdev MX Player
Previously seen in films like Gully Boy (2019), Pagglait (2021) and Karma Cafe (2019), Nakul Roshan Sehdev lives up to fans’ expectations in this web series. He plays the lead character in Girgit - one that’s high on life, has questionable morals and uses ‘love’ to fulfil his desires.
    2) Taniya Kalrra MX Player
Taniya Kalrra’s character ‘Shamoli’ reminded us of the phrase “looks are deceptive”. She’s extremely beautiful and comes across as sweet at first. But as the story unfolds, we see the selfish, conniving and manipulative person behind her somber demeanor.
    3) Shahwar Ali  MX Player
If there’s one character who genuinely scared us with his antics, it is Shahwar Ali’s ‘Lyndoh’.
He runs an illegal Muay Thai club in Manali, and God forbid you owe him a debt. He comes in true Lyndoh style with an heirloom Kukri and a raging anger to claim it. He’s emotional yet dangerous - these contrasting traits give an extra edge to his character.
    4) Ashmita Jaggi MX Player
Every group has a naive, overly optimistic person who is always rooting for a “happy ending” - Ashmita Jaggi’s character ‘Avantika’ is that person on this show.
While destiny favours her on most days and she’s confident about her relationship with Ranbir - do things really work out for them?
    5) Trupti Khamkar  MX Player
Trupti’s character graph is the most dramatic of them all. Initially, she’s seen dealing with emotional baggage from her past and chasing happiness in other people. However, fate lets her down time and again and she feels brutally betrayed.
Her journey brings out the heartless ‘girgit’ in her who is now ready to go to any extent to claim her sanity.
Directed by Santosh Shetty, this 7-episodic series promises to keep us on the edge throughout. It’s packed with mind-boggling plot twists and character reveals that kept us hooked.
MX Player users can watch the first episode for free and to further enjoy the show, they can update their app and subscribe to MX Gold (the platform’s subscription VOD
service) for less than Rs1/day to stream all episodes of this intriguing web series now!
Girgit will also be available for all MX Player viewers to stream for free, one month later starting 26th November.
