England’s top all-rounder Ben Stokes recently made a prediction about the T20 World Cup 2021 final match which has left many Indian fans of the game extremely annoyed with the 30-year old cricketer, with them jumping to his Twitter account to let him have an earful.
Stokes, who had broken his index finger during the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League, was ruled out of the ongoing tournament for the English squad. However, he managed to get his name buzzing despite not being on the field even for a single minute with his guess for the two sides that he feels will face off for the 2021 World Cup trophy.
    England vs Pakistan Final ???
    — Ben Stokes (@benstokes38) October 29, 2021
The talented cricketer who enjoys a massive fan following in India ended up breaking a lot of hearts in the subcontinent with the abovementioned tweet simply because he completely overlooked the Men in Blue.

Here’s how the fans have reacted:
You are my favorite but I don't expect it from you

    — Mahipal278 (@Mahipal278) October 29, 2021One of the biggest reasons why Stokes thought it would be a good idea to guess a final between England and Pakistan is that both sides have started their campaign with a 3-0 winning streak, against some of the biggest teams of international cricket.

Babar Azam’s Pakistan squad has defeated India, New Zealand, and Afghanistan so far in the tournament while Eoin Morgan’s Englishmen have had their hands raised against New Zealand, the West Indies, and Bangladesh.
Nonetheless, it is rather premature of Stokes to simply rule out India from the final, especially because they have only played a single match in the tournament so far with batters like Rishabh Pant, and skipper Virat Kohli doing fairly well, despite losing early wickets. Moreover, with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul eagerly waiting to forget their first match performances and do great in the next match against the Black Caps, the contest is far from over.

At the moment, England is leading the first group of six while Pakistan is leading the second group. Both New Zealand and India, who belong in the second group, have played one match and lost. As a result, they are perched at the fourth and fifth spots in their group, respectively.
The match between these two titans of international cricket is set to take place on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium and winning this will improve either team’s chances of getting closer to the title.
