The best things in life are the ones that we do not fathom. That also includes coming across a TV show which raises the bar of aesthetic pleasure for you to the next level.
Interestingly, not all famous shows had a predictable fate in terms of their popularity and, in fact, some of them were even cancelled around the first season.
Here are 6 shows which almost got cancelled before they became big:
    1. Money Heist
    © Netflix
This is one of the biggest Netflix shows in the world and with the crazy fan following this show has built in 5 seasons, it is difficult to think it was cancelled.

The Spanish series was apparently cancelled after the first season before Netflix decided to infuse new life into it, and since then, there is no looking back.
The grand finale is scheduled for December this year and fans cannot wait to see if the Professor and the gang make it through, alive and kicking.

    2. Squid Game
    © Netflix
Even if you haven’t watched this crazy show, you have heard enough about it that it piques your interest.

This is the biggest show in Netflix history and is trending in over 90 countries.
The Korean show follows a group of people who are trying to win the prize money after participating in a game show, which literally kills people.
The writer of the show proclaimed how he had to sell his laptop and personal stuff initially during his days of struggle after the script wasn’t being picked up.
Well, glad someone decided to make it.

    3. Friends
    © Netflix
It’s hard to fathom that the show, which has a huge cult following, was once deemed unfit to run on TV.

The show’s pilot episode didn’t get the kind of love that the makers were expecting and hence, it was actually cancelled before NBC decided to give it another chance.
Well, aren’t we all glad we have this mood uplifter for life?

    4. The Office
    © Netflix
The opinions around this brilliantly made show are divided but fans will argue it is indeed a comedy so well written, it's hard for any other show to match up.

The US version was based on the original UK version of the show and after the first season kind of failed to draw the attraction that was predicted, the show was almost cancelled before a turn of events changed the course of its history.

    5. Baywatch
    © NBC
This is one show every 90s kid has secretly grown up watching.

Pamela Anderson became everyone’s first love and suddenly, becoming a lifeguard seemed like a hot choice for a career.
However, not all was well when the first season had very low ratings and the makers almost decided to cancel it. Thank god they didn’t though.

    6. Game Of Thrones
I know that by the end of the show, we all wished it could have ended sooner with a better storyline but boy, the brilliance of the first few seasons is unmatched.
The pilot was not well received and, in fact, the production company hated it.
The makers had to get a new director on board, replace old characters with new faces (Emilia Clarke being one of the replacements), in the hope that it is picked up.
Well, we all know how that panned out.

In case anyone thinks the world is so much easier for guys than girls, we are here to burst your bubble.
At least for desi men, it isn’t.
They are subjected to expectations and judgements and burdened by responsibilities as much as women. And on top of that, they encounter hilarious and ridiculous desi things that only happen to guys.

If you are a guy born in a typical Indian middle-class household, you would relate to these super annoying things that have happened to every man at least once in his life. These are things that make them say ‘kuch bhi’?

From being a 24/7 driver for your family to constantly being hounded about when they are going to 'settle down', here are 7 annoying things that happen to every Indian man:

    1. A Pretty Stranger Calling You ‘Bhaiya’
    © iStock
If you are in your 20s and 30s, you are automatically the national brother to every random woman in India, regardless of what you do, how old you are and how you look.

It hurts more when the stranger, in question, is pretty and you had no plans of making her a sister.
    2.  You Are The Minion Of The Family
The son in every desi house is by default the unofficial fetch and carry person.
From getting dahi to dhaniya to getting grandma’s glasses repaired, you are the person who would be expected to be at the beck and call of the entire family.
    3. Everyone Telling ‘Guys Have It So Easy’

It’s frustrating when your female friends and cousins tell you how guys have it so easy in all walks of life.

While it may be safer to walk alone at night, it’s not all that easy when expectations are concerned.
Men also need to fit into certain moulds and are judged for things, but at that moment, all you do is nod and agree with them.
    4. Constantly Being Asked To Shave/Get A Haircut
“Shave kara le” “Baal kyun ni katwata?” For men who like to keep their hair and beard long, it gets really annoying to be reminded how they ‘need’ to book an appointment at a salon soon.
From teachers to bosses and from mom to girlfriend, no one seems to shut up about how scruffy (read nalayak) you look.
    5. Treated As A Personal Driver For Your Sister

If you have a sister, then the sole reason you exist in the world is to drive her to her coaching centre, school, her friend’s birthday.

You are also responsible to drop and pick her up 24/7 without complaint, and without salary of course.
    6. Being Forcefully Asked To Leave Your Seat, Make Way For The ‘Ladies’
While travelling in public transport, you are asked to spare the seat or let the women go in first.
Most men are chivalrous and don’t mind doing it on their own, but you’d still be told to do it by the nosy uncles and aunties who think you won’t. Plus, they give you a stare if you don’t.
    7. Being Expected To ‘Settle Down’ As Soon As You Earn Enough

Once you have a job and a steady income, all your relatives have one mission and that is to see you getting hitched.

Be ready to dodge questions like ‘‘when are you getting married” and “how much do you earn” at every family event.

The plot for most Bollywood movies that get churned out are more or less similar - a hero, a villain and a female protagonist, who, most of the time, is used as furniture in the movie with a few honorary dialogues and item songs.

However, there have been times when even such basic plotlines have managed to get across a different message as intended.
We are talking about the movies where, if we were to really look closely enough, the glorified hero of the film could actually get away as the villain and the real villain as the hero.
Here are a few of these films where we think the protagonist was the real villain:
    1) Maddy in 'Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein'
    © Pooja Entertainment
Maddy (R Madhavan), pitched as this head-over-heels in love protagonist who would do anything to be close to his love interest Reena (Dia Mirza) was, in reality, nothing but a liar, cheat and a roadside Romeo.

He didn’t just spin outrageous lies about who he really was, but was also less than decent when his real identity was disclosed, by picking up street fights with Reena’s actually intended fiance - Sam (Saif) who was also his college rival.
In the end, it was Sam who had a bigger heart and led Reena to be united with Maddy.
    2) Tanu in 'Tanu Weds Manu'
    © Color Yellow Productions
Tanu (Kangana Ranaut) is portrayed as the main protagonist of the film while her boyfriend Raja (Jimmy Shergill) is shown in the light of a villain.

Whereas if we closely observe the plot, Tanu was the ‘bad guy’ here for it was her indecisiveness, fickle mindedness and ego that kept both Manu and Raja on the hook till the very end.
She played around the feelings of both men and it was them, who showed each other the respect of their given word and stepped back when it was needed.
    3) Chirag in 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'
    © Junglee Pictures
The unique love story between Bitti and Chirag (Ayushman Khurrana) in the film Bareilly ki Barfi will lead you to believe that he was the hero, the real underdog.

Except, it was none other than Pritam Bidrohi (Rajkummar Rao), initially hired by Chirag, who was the good one.
Despite acting out of his orders, if it wasn’t for Bidrohi, Chirag would never be able to get Bitti.
In the end, Chirag was nothing more than a liar and a bully who coerced Pritam Bidrohi’s character to manipulate Bitti. Not cool!
    4) Kabir in 'Kabir Singh'
    © T Series
A total no-brainer, especially with the criticism that followed after the release of this movie, the protagonist Kabir Singh was in fact a toxic, alcoholic and abusive man who used ‘love’ as an excuse to treat Preeti with utmost disrespect and indecency.

He is what one can call an anti-hero!
    5) Ayan in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'
    © Dharma Productions
No matter what people say, Ayan’s (Ranbir Kapoor) character in the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was that of a butt-hurt obsessive lover who never learnt the meaning of taking ‘no’ as an answer.

Whether it was his male ego or his privilege, but the character that was sold to us as the hero of the film, was a man child who went out of his way to annoy Alizeh who laid out her intentions of just being friends one too many times.
