The debate of whether or not Hardik Pandya deserves to be in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2021 has gone into a throwback mode with fans reliving the injustice suffered by Ambati Rayudu during the team selection for World Cup 2019.
Rayudu was seen as a legitimate middle-order batsman and perceived to be someone who would finally fill up the dreaded number four spot in the team. For at least a year ahead of the tournament, he was speculated to be a valuable part of the Men in Blue.
Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup ..
    — Ambati Rayudu (@RayuduAmbati) April 16, 2019
However, when the time came for the BCCI selectors to announce the 15-man squad for the 2019 World Cup in England, the Guntur-born cricketer’s name was nowhere to be found. Instead, the spot went to “3-D player” Vijay Shankar, who made little to no impact on the tournament for India and the infamous number-four spot became the bane of success for Virat Kohli’s side back then.
“... We felt he (Rayudu) was getting stagnant. The confidence level going into the World Cup wasn’t there,” Gagan Khoda, a member of the 2019 selection committee had said in a 2020 interview with Sportskeeda.

Assuming the same situation remains true while making the decision for the T20 World Cup next month, fans have questioned the Indian cricket board behind picking someone like Hardik Pandya, who has not only been out of form but has also been vulnerable to constant injuries over the last two years.
Selectors dropped Ambati Rayudu for 2019 WC due to poor IPL form.

How many of Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya will these selectors drop?

    — AD (@cricadharsh) September 25, 2021This has taken away his ability to bowl frequently, prevented him from playing big innings, and not even show up in the first two matches for the Mumbai Indians in the second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021.

And these aren’t some baseless arguments that some random fans have been putting out there on the internet. Former Indian wicket-keeper batter, Saba Karim also expressed his worries about Pandya’s selection, especially if he was still unfit while the process was taking place.
“He (Hardik) is a big player. But the question now is when he was selected for the Indian team, was he fully fit or not? If he was fit then it is justified. But if not, then when did this niggle happen? If he was carrying that injury then why was he selected? The general rule is - you have to prove your fitness and go to NCA and come back. This rule applies to everyone. So, the question is right but we don't know what has exactly happened with Pandya,” said Karim.

Almost all of us are aware of how Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most charming and chivalrous gentlemen in the industry. Not only is he intellectually very sound, but his co-stars or the fans that he meets on a daily basis are very expressive of how the star actor has a particular talent of making the other person feel very, very comfortable.
However, if someone is usually very hospitable, patient, and nice, you know that you've really f**ked things up if they lose their s*it. Well, that's what happened with one journalist who ended up getting under the skin of Bollywood's Badshah.
This incident is said to have happened during Shah Rukh's early years in the industry while he was shooting for Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa in 1993.
    © Netflix
Apparently, a journalist published a piece around false rumors of Shah Rukh having an extra-marital affair with a co-star, just two years after his marriage with Gauri Khan. Soon after the report came in the news, it was said that Gauri was suddenly concerned whether she did the right thing by marrying the actor. This clearly infuriated Shah Rukh, who ended up calling the journalist while hurling curse words.

Talking about the time, SRK said he then headed to the journalist's house with a sword in hand. “I behaved very badly. I was jailed. My father-in-law had given me a sword, as they do in Punjabi weddings. I carried that sword to that journalist's house. My father-in-law, who is an army officer, said, ‘Son, you have to protect my daughter.’ Nobody was saying anything to his daughter but I thought this is a good weapon, sanctioned by the Indian Army,” he said.
He then met a young man, who he stabbed in the legs, after which he went on to return to shooting. Unsurprisingly, the next day, the police showed up at the shoot and arrested him. However, despite being arrested and given just one phone call, Shah Rukh instead of calling for help ended up ringing the same journalist again to threaten him further.
This is what he said, “Saale ab toh jail bhi chala gaya hu. Ab toh nikal ke aauga aur tereko kaat ke jaauga (I've even been to jail for this. Now I will come out and cut you up)."
Wow! We could have never seen SRK channelizing his inner Dilli Ka Launda like that.

The actor was later gotten out of jail by Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman co-star Nana Patekar.

BCCI and the ECB have finally come to a mutual agreement with regards to the fate of the fifth Test match which did not take place after the Indian cricket team raised concerns about the growing number of COVID-19 cases within their dressing room.
According to ESPNcricinfo reports, the fifth match will be played between the two sides next year in July when India are scheduled to tour England for limited-overs cricket. This means that the England-India Test series remains open and the final points tally from this series will take place after the fifth match, possibly still scheduled for Manchester, will conclude.
So the abandoned 5th test in Manchester will be replayed next year. Which means the series is still open. This must be the longest break between two tests!
    — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) September 26, 2021
Fans seem to be completely divided on this decision. While some believe the series should have only counted the first four matches, others felt that it would have been unfair to the Englishmen:
What a joke and @BCCI just flexing the power to prevail ipl over test cricket
    — Sarcastic Boy (@Sarcast61261758) September 26, 2021Will it be the same intensity wise? I don't think so..
It's just like the way 4th test ended with Anderson opting for a review and you said it yourself on AIR "something about DRS"
It's more of an obligation to compensate for the loss ECB incurred which is appreciable though..
    — Sagar garg (@DrGumsNProbes) September 26, 2021As it is an away test, its definitely a disadvantage for India only. India definitely missing the series victory which is already on the plate for them to take.
    — iParamesh (@smano0706) September 26, 2021dont think it will help india though if stokes and archer come back in the england team... should have completed the series in england only... momentum was with india
    — Rohit Pungalia (@RohitPungalia) September 26, 2021india is screwing international cricket for the sake of Ipl
    — arron (@arron58170662) September 26, 2021Such a decision to carry out a part of the Test series after almost a year remains unprecedented. Normally, if a match is abandoned, it is not counted as an official contest and therefore, gets removed from the series.
However, in the case of the Old Trafford Test which did not take place, there was a difference of opinion between England and India due to the multiple repercussions of each option, especially when the hosts were ready to play while the touring team was finding it difficult to present a team on the ground due to the pandemic. One of the two possible scenarios was bound to take place.
Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test at Emirates Old Trafford, due to start today, will be cancelled.
    — England Cricket (@englandcricket) September 10, 2021
If the match was declared abandoned, the series would have only counted for the first four games, two of which were won by India, one by England, and one ended in a draw. Thereby, India would have won the series 2-1.
If the match was declared a forfeit by the Indian side, it would have been counted in the winning column for England and the series would have ended at 2-2.
    View this post on Instagram
However, the biggest concern for the ECB was the kind of financial losses they would have incurred if the fifth Test did not take place at all. It was estimated that the ECB was set to lose over £20 million if the match was abandoned while also having to refund the tickets to a packed Old Trafford crowd for all five days.
Reports suggest that the decision to have the fifth Test in July 2022 will help the ECB recover from the majority of the losses that they have incurred at the moment.

Sneha Dubey is a name that has suddenly cropped on the scene, not because she wasn't known before, but just because of the emphatic fashion in which she canceled Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the United Nations Assembly.
    © Reuters
Mr. Imran Khan, like always, did not have any love lost for India when talking about the country on an international podium, and that is why he ended up levelling baseless accusations towards our country. We aren't surprised that he did, honestly.

However, the interesting thing was how India struck back, with the help of Sneha Dubey, its First Secretary at the United Nations.
    © BCCL
Sneha Dubey absolutely tore into Pakistan PM Imran Khan to send him back to Islamabad with a speech that was lauded across social media. And that's how Sneha went on to become a sensation, and people are surely loving her for it.

Now, just at the back of the incident, unsurprisingly there was a lot of attention around her, and Aaj Tak's anchor Anjana Om Kashyap was one such person hell-bent on getting her on TV screens for her channel. Now, whoever said anything about giving celebrities or high-ranked officials, in general, some privacy, things, unfortunately, do not work like that when it comes to the media.
What happened then was that Kashyap entered a room where Sneha Dubey was seated or perhaps resting after annihilating Imran Khan. Naturally, she would have wanted some time alone, however, Kashyap had other plans, and barged into her room.
Only to then be shown the door.Ouch!
It really doesn't matter if you are a popular TV anchor or just a normal person, when someone outrightly says no to you on live TV, it's definitely gotta be a little insulting. And the Aaj Tak anchor was at the receiving end of the same treatment.
The whole incident was captured on video, where Kashyap can be seen entering a room where the young Indian diplomat was seated.
Sneha Dubey, IFS, Representative of India at UN asked Anjana Om Kashyap to leave the room as she breaks the protocol by the entering the room without official permission. pic.twitter.com/Mp609slBsc
    — Divyaansh Mishra (@divyaanshwho) September 25, 2021
Despite being stopped, the anchor, in her natural element, just resorted to saying, 'Ek Minute' before rushing into the room.
“Sneha Dubey is the same official who was heard by the country with immense pride. I know you don’t want to speak on the record, but the whole of India wants to listen to you. It may be a routine job for you, but this is huge,” she said.
But despite being a little tired, Sneha had something still left in her and was clearly having no nonsense from the TV anchor. She simply folded her hands and showed Kashyap the way out, by saying, “Whatever I had to say, I’ve already said.”
Now, that would usually look like a normal reply to people, but we know that it's more of a polished way of saying, 'Get Out Of My Face'.

Smartphones have now become a way of life where our entire lives depend on a glass slab. We used it for ordering food, watch movies, pay bills, listen to music, capture memories and even play games.
There’s a very good chance that you might be reading this story on a phone and not on a desktop or a laptop. That’s probably because smartphones dominate society today and can be used for almost every purpose you can think of.

While smartphones tend to be the most used device by almost everyone, it came at a cost. The smartphone revolutionised the digital world and as a result, we saw many products die because of it.
Here are some of the products that were killed by smartphones:
    1. Digital Point and Shoot Cameras  © Wikipedia Commons
While point and shoot cameras are making a comeback, it is only aimed at photography enthusiasts. Not so long ago, we used to buy digital cameras to capture our favourite moments from our vacations, birthdays and other celebrations.

However, since smartphone cameras started to become extremely good, point and shoot cameras have been completely replaced when it comes to mass consumer products. We won’t really see a resurgence of point and shoot cameras anytime soon especially since smartphone cameras are getting better with each year.
    2. Calculators  © Wikipedia Commons
You probably never thought of this, but they used to be a calculator in every home for doing basic maths. Whether you used it for your growing shopping bills or your dad needed to calculate how much discount he can get on the latest product sitting at home. Apart from scientific calculators that are still being used by scientists, mathematicians and physicists; we don’t really see calculators any more.

My father still uses his ‘Citizen’ calculator because he is used to it; the younger generation, on the other hand, won’t even recognise it in 10 years.
    3. MP3 players © Youtube_Egidijus
Just like how MP3 players killed Music CDs and Cassettes, smartphones killed the popular music consumer gadget ever since the first iPhone launched. I still know someone in office who prefers to use an old-school USB sized MP3 player, however, majority of the times you will spot people using the smartphone to listen to music.

Phones now come with streaming apps like Apple Music and Spotify or Android users can simply transfer their downloaded library to the phone’s storage. Smartphones have now made it nostalgic to own an MP3 player, given the fact it was still cool to own one a decade ago.
You can still find MP3 players online, however, those are now targeted towards audiophiles who want to experience hi-res audio.
    4. GPS Navigation © TomTom
Ever heard of TomTom, Garmin and MapMyIndia? Well, those are all now dead ever since GPS navigation became extremely accurate on smartphones. We would see GPS navigation units outfitted in cars, taxis and trucks; however, those have now been overtaken by smartphones.

Garmin sold over 45 million GPS units in 2008, and now those sale numbers have been overtaken by smartphones. Google Maps offered free navigation to users that disrupted the GPS industry when charging users extra for maps was the norm.
    5. Portable DVD players © Facebook Marketplace
Not so long ago, portable DVD players were a big deal amongst travellers who wanted to watch their own movies. Today, you can only find these in airplanes and will only be offered to you if your display unit is not functioning.

Portable DVD players were a nice product for people who spent a lot of timing commuting or frequent travellers; however it was all ruined by smartphones and tablets. Today, you can simply watch Netflix, Amazon Prime or any other OTT platform on your personal device provided you’ve downloaded the content prior.

Ever since getting appointed as the Chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this month, Ramiz Raja has already met with arguably the biggest problem related to playing cricket in his country - no international team wants to play in Pakistan.
It must be frustrating, infuriating, and even leading to some unrealistic conspiracy theories in the minds of the PCB officials. But the fact remains that none of the foreign cricket boards would risk the lives of their athletes by sending them to Pakistan, especially when their players and their family members have received death threats and intelligence agencies have warned them of potential security risks.
    View this post on Instagram
However, does that mean that Raja gets to throw a punch or two at his Indian counterparts just because all teams are eagerly waiting to come here and play international cricket against the Men in Blue? Well, he sure thinks so.
“Australians have changed their DNA because of money, they play against India happily and without aggressive approach. International cricketers have pressure as now they want to save their IPL contracts where they receive a lot of money plus add-ons,” Raja was quoted as saying to ARY News.

The former cricketer feels that international teams like Australia remain under pressure about getting picked in the Indian Premier League and get their share of the sweet, sweet IPL money and it is because of that, that they would hope to tour India, even if there were potential security threats around the region.
Clearly, the fans of the Indian cricket team and the BCCI were not going to sit back and listen to such baseless accusations and this is how they retaliated:
What about the Pakistan leage? There also Australian's playing

    — Adarsh Nath Singh (@AdarshNathSingh) September 25, 2021Earlier this month, the New Zealand cricket team, which was already in Pakistan for their first international match in the country in over 18 years withdrew from the tournament after team veteran Martin Guptill’s wife received a death threat about her husband and the New Zealand cricket board also got an email talking about bombing the Black Caps during their time there.
Disappointed with England, pulling out of their commitment & failing a member of their Cricket fraternity when it needed it most. Survive we will inshallah. A wake up call for Pak team to become the best team in the world for teams to line up to play them without making excuses.
    — Ramiz Raja (@iramizraja) September 20, 2021
Soon after the Kiwis, it was the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) that decided to cancel both their men’s and women’s tours of Pakistan citing their players being “spooked” by the incidents with the New Zealand team.
Pakistan has the West Indies and Australia scheduled to tour them later this year and Raja believes that the two sides will eventually end up cancelling their tours as well, thereby leaving Pakistan’s international-domestic schedule in absolute shambles.

Nokia at its peak was churning out more phones than anybody else back in their hay day. One can say, the company can be considered the godfather of smartphones with innovations that are still being used today. Nokia experimented with smartphone designs and features that have now become a staple in smartphones that we tend to take for granted.
During the height of the brand’s success; the Finnish company launched some incredible phones that changed the world of gadgets. From phones that were a precursor for netbooks and laptops to a phone that could withstand any fall. Nokia really diversified its portfolio to become the market leader at a time when the competition was at its highest.
We honour six of the best Nokia phones that were ever released back in the day that paved the way for modern smartphones:

    1. The Nokia Communicator  © Catawiki
If you’re reading this article on a smartphone, a netbook, an iPad or even a laptop; you need to be thankful to the Nokia Communicator series. The phone, in many ways, was a precursor for every portable gadget we use today.

The first 9000 Communicator came with a monochrome display but later on became one of the most iconic phones of all time. These phones appear normal from the outside, however, once opened, there was an entire QWERTY keyboard and a screen that almost as big as the phone.
It was also among the first few phones that had internet connectivity that could be used for sending emails, MMS and other communication services.
    2. Nokia 6600 © Youtube/Where to Buy
When the Nokia 6600 launched, it was the most advanced phone by the company yet. It was launched on June 16, 2003, and was the company’s high-end smartphones meant for business users.

The phone had an integrated VGA camera, music and video player, expandable memory by a memory card, Bluetooth and other features.
It was Nokia’s most successful phone to date and sold over 150 million units worldwide.
    3. Nokia N-Gage Series   © Alophone
While the N-Gage series was not as successful as Nokia’s other phones, it was still ahead of its time that paved the way for gaming smartphones today. It had dedicated physical buttons that could be used for playing games and was targeted towards Nintendo Gameboy Advance users.

The only issue with the phone was that it was quite difficult to use it for phone calls. One had to hold it on its 90-degree edge to use the speakerphone.
    4. Nokia 3310 © Wikipedia Commons
The Nokia 3310 was neither the most advanced phone the company ever made nor did it have any interest connectivity. However, due to its extremely sturdy construction, the phone was a massive hit all over the world.

It had a very intuitive design and was the first phone to allow users to send three SMS messages in one. The keypad was easy to type on that made it a popular phone to own by almost everybody.
    5.  Nokia E71  © Wikipedia Commons
Blackberry dominated the Business category until Nokia launched its E-Series.

There was a time when Blackberry screwed up a lot of their phones, particularly with their Bold series, and Nokia was there to fill the void. In fact, Blackberry took plenty of inspiration from the Nokia E71 for phones they launched in the latter half of the 2000s.
The Nokia E71 was a great alternative to Blackberry phones as it made the QWERTY keyboard on phones better and had support for Wi-FI. It even had macro keys for launching Email, contacts and calendar right from the keypad making it faster to launch these applications. The phone also came with a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and GPS navigation.
    6. Nokia 7650 © Youtube/Collectable Phones
The Nokia 7650 was probably iconic for two reasons and one of them was the “slider” mechanism it used. However, the second reason was probably more important as it was Nokia’s first phone with an integrated camera.

The Nokia 7650 was launched in 2002 and the camera was only able to capture images at a resolution of 640×480. It may not seem much today but it was a huge deal 18 years ago.
So, these were our six best phones Nokia ever made, however, there are plenty more which were not possible to feature in one article. However, your list of the best Nokia phones can be very different from ours; let us know in the comments section which was your favourite Nokia phone of all time.

Smartphones have become boring in the past few years where companies have very little room left to innovate with their designs.
While companies like Samsung and Motorola are making foldable phones mainstream; we’re still not there yet. Having said that, we still love some of the older phone designs that invoke emotions and immense nostalgia. Some of these phones were so incredible that we would buy them in 2021 if they came with modern specifications.
Companies like Blackberry and classic Nokia lost the smartphone race as they refused to include modern specifications in their phones but that doesn’t mean it cannot still happen. We’ve already seen Nokia re-release some of their classic phones and there’s no harm speculating which older phones we would still buy if they were released today with modern specifications.

    1. Nokia 7710  © Wikipedia Commons
The Nokia 7710 was a smartphone before we coined the term for phones today. It was first developed in 2004 and had a whacky design that is still quite relatable. It came with a touchscreen, physical buttons in the corner and was meant to be used in landscape view. The phone supported expandable memory up to 2GB and offered multiple-format video recording thanks to the integrated camera. It also supported various audio formats like MP3, AAC, RealAudio 7 and 8, WAV, MIDI and AMR. If Nokia were to release this phone with modern specs; we are certain people would flock to buy the phone as soon as it is announced.

    2. Sony Ericsson P900 © Youtube/Cortado
Sony Ericsson’s first true PDA was a masterpiece and we haven’t really seen anything like it by anybody else. Sure, we got to see newer models of the same phone but the P900 was by far the most advanced phone at its time. It had a touchscreen that worked with a stylus, a jog-wheel for navigation and a great email client. With modern specifications, the Sony Ericsson P900 can still give tough competition to smartphones today; specifically Samsung’s Galaxy Note Series.

    3. Nokia N-Gage QD  © Alophone
The N-Gage QD was a remarkable phone for its time and we wished something like this was still available today. Gaming smartphones do exist but many games don’t feel right playing with a touch screen. Physical buttons have always been preferred by gamers and Nokia can launch something similar to N-Gage QD to capture the handheld gaming market. It’s 2020 and I still play games on my Nintendo New 3DS XL simply because I love that form factor. I loved the N-Gage too and hopefully with modern specs it can become a great portable console/mobile phone.

    4. Motorola Aura  © Motorola
This phone by Motorola was a piece of art that launched in 2008. The swivel design was a big thing in the late 2000s and Motorola showed the world what a premium phone could be using quality build materials. Even the swivel mechanism had 200 individual parts where 130 of them were ball bearings. There were steel gears made from tungsten carbon carbide that can also be found on racing car engines. If Motorola can manage to remake this phone with modern specs and maybe a larger display; we can see the world going crazy for it all over again.

    5. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic © Nokia
Nokia also dabbled with a touchscreen phone that worked with a stylus which didn’t really work for the company back in the day. However, if this phone released sometime today with modern specifications, it could work well among Nokia fans. It came with a 3.2-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens at the back and a dedicated “Media Bar” key for accessing music, photo gallery and the web browser. The phone did not require a stylus to work and could be used as a touchscreen as well.

That’s our list of five phones we would buy even today if they come with modern specifications. Having said that, your list may look different from ours and we would love to know your list of old phones you would still buy today if they come with modern specifications.

SunRisers Hyderabad are officially out of the race for a playoff spot in the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League after losing the match against Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.
Having lost their previous match to Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals, Kane Williamson’s squad needed to win every single match from there on, if they wished to make it to the final four. As fate would have it, SRH were unable to chase even 125 runs to keep themselves afloat and therefore became the first franchise in the 2021 season to definitely miss out on a playoff berth.
#SRH becomes the first team to be out of the play-offs hopes in #IPL2021.
    — Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) September 25, 2021
The Hyderabad squad didn’t look in the best of forms since the beginning of the season as they managed to lose eight of their nine matches so far, and are currently on a five-match losing streak. Their original captain David Warner continues to struggle with the bat, and their marquee pacer T Nataraj contracted the COVID-19 virus just as the second leg of the tournament was set to kick off in the United Arab Emirates.
T Natarajan has tested positive for COVID-19, and is presently in isolation.

    — SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) September 22, 2021
You’d think that people would be heartbroken about the franchise and the captain and everyone else who seemed to be dealing with a little bit of bad luck. And surely enough, people were heartbroken - just not for any of the reasons mentioned above.
They were disappointed for SRH co-owner Kaviya Maran, who has been enjoying a lot of attention from IPL and SRH fans ever since she was first seen in the stands a couple of years ago. She has been a well-known face at the matches, the auctions and the uncountable number of times the cameraman has focused on her expressions as she sits in the VIP box.
