When a peer recommended me to play a spin-off game of the Yakuza series, I never expected it to be as good if not better than the main games. Now, the sequel to Judgment is about to release and I got the opportunity to play as Takayuki Yagami once again. Ryu Ga Gotoku has masterfully crafted semi-open worlds of Kamarucho and Yokohama for the Yakuza series but further improved upon systems and mechanics in the spin-off games. Lost Judgment is no different as the developers have managed to reiterate many of the mechanics we’re familiar and took it to the next level with improvements we all wanted. After playing ‘Lost Judgment’; I can confidently say that I couldn’t get enough of solving mysteries as Yagami.
The Story  © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
In Lost Judgement, Yagami goes to the Isezaki Ijincho district in Yokohama due to a shocking twist in a sexual assault case. The former police chief, Akihiro Ehara, was apprehended at a Tokyo subway station for groping a woman on a crowded train. However, much like the previous game, the story gets complicated when he reveals in court that a murder and been committed and reveals the location of the body. At first, everyone is dumbfounded as to how Ehara knows of the murder and the location of the body. Your job is to find out how Ehara is connected to the murder and unravel secrets that involve gangs, a high school and bullies.

I shouldn’t divulge any more of the story as it could spoil it for you however I do have to say that the overall narrative has many twists, uncomfortable set pieces and at times whacky situations. The plot explores sensitive topics such as suicide and bullying in Japanese High Schools, which can hit home for some players who may have experienced or been a witness to bullying themselves.

The main plot offers hard-hitting stories that can often be gruesome but masterfully balances them with light-hearted side cases. Most of the side missions and activities are much like the previous game where you deal with cases that aren’t connected to the main story. These side missions serve as great distractions and help in lightening the mood when you don’t want to progress the main story. From finding an invisible burglar in an office to helping a game developer finding a director, side cases will always keep you guessing.

Since a lot of your investigation will be taking place at the school, Yagami gets himself appointed as an advisor for the Mystery Research Club. Here, with the help of students, you try to solve cases that involve other clubs around the school. As you get started investigating other clubs, you’re faced to take part in activities such as dance classes to gain the trust of the club members. These side cases are categorised as “School Stories” which take a considerable amount of time to complete as opposed to the regular side cases.

As a side anecdote, it’s worth pointing out that players do not need to play the first title to enjoy Lost Judgement. The game does a great job of bringing you up to speed and does not connect the main plot with the previous game in any way. The only connections to the previous game are returning characters which the game makes sure you get properly introduced to.
Gameplay: New Mechanics and Features  © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
Judgment used the tried and tested gameplay formula of the Yakuza series however Ryu Ga Gotoku went a step further to improve on every combat and basic mechanics their games are known for. For starters, the encounter rate with enemies has been drastically reduced so that you go on about your business in Yokohama or Kamurocho. The game also clearly marks any enemies in your field of view in case you want to avoid a fight and get to your mission via an alternate route.

Since Yokohama is a fairly large world to explore, Ryu Ga Gotoku has added the ability to use a Skateboard when travelling around the city. This makes it faster for Yagami to reach missions and objectives rather than being interrupted every five minutes.

Combat has also evolved from the previous game where you now have a new ‘Snake’ stance to battle enemies with weapons. While using the Snake stance, you can easily parry an enemy carrying a weapon and easily disarm them as well. Similarly, other welcomed changes come in the form of giving boosts whenever you dodge attacks.
    © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
When you successfully dodge an attack, Yagami can unleash a flurry of attacks on enemies which wasn’t the case in previous games. For tougher enemies, you can now counter their ‘Deadly Attacks’ as well if timed right. All of these improvements make the combat in ‘Lost Judgment’ a lot tighter than any previous Ryu Ga Gotoku game. Combat is where this game truly shines much like the Yakuza games and you won’t be disappointed if you love the Beat 'em up genre.

My one major criticism of the first game was that the mini-games involving detective work could have been more expansive. The good news is that Ryu Ga Gotoku has expanded these mini-games by adding new gadgets and even a mystery-loving dog.
    © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
New gadgets such as an electronic bug detector and a long-range listening device have been added which you repeatedly use in both main and side missions. While there was a genuine effort to expand the detective mini-games, I did get tired of them after 10 hours into the game. Each gadget felt like it was being used to either extend the play-time or simply because the developers felt the need to make the player use it.

Other new features that have been added are traversal sections and stealth set-pieces. In theory, these function as a homage to Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell games but they are still limited to set pieces. You cannot use these new abilities whenever and wherever you feel like which can get a tad bit predictable towards the second half of the game.

Graphics: Performance on PlayStation 5 Lost Judgment looks stunning on the PlayStation 5 where both cities of Isezaki Ijincho and Kamurocho look like the real deal. I’ve been meaning to visit Japan for the past two years but it seems like the pandemic had other plans. However, for now, I’m satisfied exploring the digital recreations of Shinjuku and Yokohama.
    © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
On the PlayStation 5, you can run the game up to 60FPS at 1440p resolution which is ideal for a Beat 'em up game. Due to the high-paced combat mechanics, playing the game at 60 FPS was a delight as I never saw any frames dipping during the tensest moments. However, when visiting places with high crowd density, you will notice some frame rate drops here and there. Loading times have been dramatically improved on the PlayStation 5 but the game does not take full advantage of Sony’s system. For example, Lost Judgement does not utilise all of the DualSense features which was a massive bummer. Other features that were left out were ray-tracing and 4K resolution. I found this odd as Ryu Ga Gotoku’s previous game Yakuza: Like a Dragon had support for both.

    © Sega_Ryu Ga Gotoku
As for the cinematic presentation, Ryu Ga Gotoku still managed to bring that tension-filled, high on drama vibe to its cut-scenes. I played 99% of the game in Japanese where each character model looked highly detailed and extremely accurate lip-syncing. However, in English mode, lip-syncing still needs a bit of improvement. You can always change the language whenever you want however I recommend playing the game in Japanese audio with English text.

The Final Say Lost Judgment is a fantastic action-adventure detective game that every fan of the Yakuza series or otherwise should experience. The game makes some major improvements in the gameplay, graphics and mini-games department. Lost Judgement’s crime-drama story is well worth the full asking price that has been perfectly paired with addictive combat gameplay. If you were craving to solve crimes in Japanese streets as a Detective, Lost Judgement won't disappoint you.

A known face in Gujarati theatre and film scene, Pratik Gandhi got recognition with the portrayal of Harshad Mehta in Hansal Mehta’s Scam 1992, and with the portrayal of this character, he got nationwide fame. Now, Gandhi is in news again for his next venture, Raavan Leela which is now titled Bhavai. After the trailer was released, people felt that it’s too controversial to have a name like that and felt that the makers are disrespectful towards Hindu sentiments.
    Here’s the trailer:

Now, people have taken their hate to the next level as ‘Arrest Pratik Gandhi’ has been trending on Twitter. They are brutally bashing him for being a part of the movie and even comparing him to Javed Akhtar.
Here’s how people are reacting to the movie not being banned:

In an interview with PTI, Pratik Gandhi said the audience should understand the difference between reel and real life. He also added that they aren’t glorifying the demonic king, Raavan.

He said, “We aren’t showing any interpretation of Ram or Ravan in the film. The film is not at all about it. That’s why the team thought that if sentiments of a certain section of the society are hurt, we don’t mind changing the name if that satisfies them. But I’m sure that’s not the answer to the broader question. We changed the name, but will that solve anything?”

He went on to elaborate, “Then will it be like this that if someone has played the role of Hanuman Ji, he will never get married? It can’t be like that. The job of an actor is to bring the story to the audience via the screen. Actors also have a personal life and when the audience forgets this, that is a problem, which is the story of the film.”
Despite the title change, people are demanding a ban on the movie.
Gandhi, in one interview, said, “When Valmiki wrote Ramayana, he could have described him as a black character or talked about his shortcomings only, but he didn’t. When this hasn’t happened right from the beginning, who are we to claim what is right and what is wrong? Why was Ravana called a prakhand pandit (learned scholar) or a Shiva devotee? Perhaps he also wanted people to understand the greyness, and didn’t want to paint him just as a demon.”

The film also stars Ankur Bhatia, Abhimanyu Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Ankur Vikal, Rajendra Gupta, Gopal Singh, Flora Saini, Anil Rastogi, Krishna Bisht, and Bhagyashree Mote.

In a very bizarre turn of events, a teenager managed to get a USB cable stuck inside his genitals while trying to measure it. While we are trying to figure out how that is possible, here’s what the official version says. A UK teen had to undergo emergency surgery after he tried to measure his manhood by lodging a USB cable in his urethra according to the medical journal Urology Case Reports.
The experiment backfired when the cable got stuck inside the urethra even though the teen made numerous attempts to extract it. The USB cable became tangled inside so terribly that both ends of the cable were left hanging out of his man parts.
    © Case Reports
He was then transported to the emergency room by his family after he began urinating blood. Initial attempts to remove the cable failed after which the teen was transferred to University College Hospital London. As per reports, the boy asked to speak to doctors without his mother being present and thereupon confessed details about his “sexperiment.”

Following his confession to the doctors, X-Rays revealed that there was a veritable Gordian Knot of USB wire inside the teenager’s urethra. Surgeons were required to make an incision in the region between his genitals and anus to get it out. The boy has now recovered without incident and was discharged from the hospital the next day. He did have to undergo follow-up scans two weeks later and will also require monitoring in the future.

While we can’t deduce as to why the teenager would do such an experiment, experts say in the report that these types of incidents often happen because of "sexual curiosity, sexual practice after intoxication, and mental disorders such as borderline, schizoaffective and bipolar personality disorders.” The study further noted that "the patient was an otherwise fit and healthy adolescent with no history of mental health disorders.”

While this might be an embarrassing incident, London andrologist Amr Raheem told the Daily Mail that phallus-filling maneuvers are "becoming more common as everything is thanks to social media and in general the easier ways that misinformation can be spread.”

It is often said, and is also backed by a study or two as well, that for men, bromance matters more than romance. Turns out, male friendships are stronger and longer lasting than romantic relationships for a lot of men and we just may have found out the reason behind it.
    © Excel Entertainment
You see, as dreamy as it is for men and women to fall in love alike, there is nothing that surpasses the bond that two friends can share, especially when they can bond over things that two lovers can possibly never can.

We are talking about all the absurd, weird, hilarious and sentimental things that men can bond with their other bros over and develop bromances that go a long long way. Here are some of the things that probably all men would relate to -
    1) Women
    via GIPHY
Just like women may love to talk about men, men love to bond over women and their dating experiences with their fellow bros. From talking about a girl that they found cute, to a harmless crush on a teacher, men often engage in banter over women - be it celebrity crushes or Sharma Ji’s daughter next door. Not to forget, endless conversations about trying to figure out what women really want and failing, also ultimately bonds men.
    2) Drinking © T-Series
Not that women don’t or can’t bond over drinks with their girlfriends, but men do too and more often more than women. Nothing excites a guy more than a fellow bro asking him “kya peeyega” and popping open a bottle. Maybe, chai and sutta would have the same impact, but bonding over drinks is the ultimate real deal.

    3) Money © iStock
From recent investments to what they thought about the sensex, men love to sit down and talk about money. Especially with almost every other person roped in on crypto, conversations about money and how to save or double it, gets every man going!

    4) Cars and Bikes © Excel Entertainment
Once again, not denying that women would not bond over this, but men certainly do. Every new model that hits the market instantly becomes a topic of conversation between men, especially when one of them is planning to buy a car. There is perhaps just something about these shiny cars and bikes that makes men feel like young boys in love.

    5) Struggles © Excel Entertainment
Another underrated topic that a lot of men often forge bonds over is by talking about their bit of struggles. It may be assumed that since we live in a male-dominated society, things are relatively easier for men, but that isn’t so. Men, too, fall under a lot of pressure from society and like to open up about what they’re going through with other men who would relate without a shadow of a doubt.

    6) Video Games © iStock
You could be 18 or you could be 42, but if you’re one of those who ever got hooked to an XBox or a Playstation or even Counter Strike on your desktop, then chances are you’ll always be a videogame person for the rest of your life. And that means enjoying conversations about games and forming undying friendships with friends you play with.

    7) Memes © iStock
Possibly an unpopular opinion, but one that holds a lot of relevance in today’s day and age, nothing connects men more than sharing some epic and relatable memes with each other. After all, why wouldn’t you make a bro out of someone who manages to make you smile every single day with the best memes!

    8) Failure
    via GIPHY
Misery loves company, and turns out, makes for some of your best friends in life. More than they like to talk about their success, men like to be candid and discuss their failures. And what would bring two guys closer than sharing their deepest failures and insecurities with each other and finding comfort in being real.

Olympic gold medalist and javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has once again created a huge amount of buzz around himself but not for his brilliance as an athlete but as an actor, while starring in a hilarious CRED commercial advertisement.
The credit-card payment application company, which runs unique advertisement campaigns with the most unlikely brand ambassadors, had Chopra address all the issues and questions he had come across in the Indian community ever since he bagged the top spot at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
    © YouTube - Cred
These included things like a marketing team portraying him as the “Youth Icon” of the nation, reporters shoving the microphone in his face asking him about his personal relationships, marriage plans and whether or not he had a “biwi or a girlfriend” and even contemplating selling his gold medal for a hefty price.

However, the funniest bit of this 40-second video was Chopra portraying the role of a film director offering to make multiple films on his career. “Neeraj Hua Maddham” and “Medal Le Chuke Saman” were two of the film titles he was offered. This was an obvious jab against the fans who were already requesting biopics and films based on the life of the 23-year old.
    © YouTube - Cred
The advertisement also highlighted the typical Indian mentality about the need to pursue an MBA degree despite being phenomenal in another field and practicing cricket shots with a javelin depicting the preference the game of cricket gets in the country, even if there are other athletes who are topping world charts in different sports as well.

    Watch the full advertisement here:

Additionally, the javelin Chopra used to win the Olympic gold has been put on auction by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The spear has already received a bid for over Rs. 10 crore with the event still open for higher bids until October 7.
Last week, a report shared by YouGov SPORT, a research consultancy firm, suggested that due to the constant buzz around the Olympian due to his victory in Japan, everything that had followed in his life ever since, Chopra’s social media worth has ballooned up to over Rs. 428 crore and that he had surpassed top-tier cricketers like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant in online popularity in this brief stint.
