Sunny Kaushal recently revealed his family’s reaction to rumours of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s engagement. Last month, reports of both of them getting engaged surfaced on the internet whereas Katrina’s team denied the rumours. Vicky’s younger brother Sunny said that his family laughed at the rumours and asked Vicky to treat them with sweets.

In an interview with SpotboyE, Sunny said, “I remember that Vicky had gone to the gym in the morning when the rumours started coming. So, when he returned home, mom and dad funnily asked him, ‘Arre yaar, teri engagement ho gayi, mithai to khila de (We heard you got engaged, please treat us to sweets)’. And then Vicky told them, ‘Jitni asli engagement hui hai, utni asli mithai bhi kha lo (Since the engagement is imaginary, the sweets will be too)’.”

He added, “We don’t know where it all came from, but we all were laughing so hard because of that.”
Vicky and Katrina have been linked together since the year 2019. However, the couple never confirmed their relationship and they are often seen at parties together and also go on vacation together.

Earlier, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor also confirmed that Vicky and Katrina were together.
Harsh Varrdhan said, “Vicky and Katrina are together, that’s true. Am I going to get in trouble for saying this? I don’t know. I think they’re quite open about it.”

After a gruelling contest between bat and ball over the last few weeks, fans were expecting a fantastic game of cricket in Manchester, but it wasn’t to be. To the disappointment of billions of fans around the world, the fifth and final match was cancelled due to a COVID-19 breakout in the Indian camp.
"We were all looking forward to what promised to be the culmination of this brilliant Test Series, and I’m so disappointed at not being able to get the match played."

Read the full message from ECB CEO Tom Harrison
    — England Cricket (@englandcricket) September 10, 2021
Ever since the match was called off, it has been hogging all the limelight for wrong reasons. From fans to cricket experts everyone seems to be at loggerheads, blaming one another.

While Indian fans are blaming English authorities for their poor security arrangements, the England supporters feel that the Indian Premier League (IPL) was responsible for the match’s cancellation.

It’s okay to live in the present but they should not forget the past when their players left the Sri Lanka tour mid-way and returned back home. The same thing happened in South Africa when their players panicked and returned back home, leading to the cancellation of the three-match ODI series. All this happened, when there was not a single positive case inside their camp and they still cancelled both these tours.

Weird how when England cancelled the end of a tour to South Africa, when no one had Covid, all you got was sympathy and concern, but now that Covid is actually inside the India camp, the only possible reason for them wanting to call off the final Test is the IPL #ENGvIND
    — Ben Gardner (@Ben_Wisden) September 10, 2021But Let's Blame IPL .
Indian players can't express concerns about their health because they get paid a lot & massive from Indian Domestic T20 league !!
    Rip Logic !!#ENGvIND
    — Shubham (@58off16) September 10, 2021Why didn't SA get full points when England left early and when Aus didn't come and play? Hypocrisy at its best. England don't have Covid restrictions but they cry when a visiting team feels unsafe to play. Ridiculous
    — S (@sanket5698) September 11, 2021Such hypocrisy. England team without a case in the camp had packed off mid-way through South Africa tour.. https://t.co/PccI07f2iC
    — Mayank (@kmayank9) September 10, 2021The same England and Wales cricket board took 10 days gap between 2nd and 3rd test because they wants to complete his hundred league...#Hypocrisy https://t.co/RcIS24lBoe
    — vivek (@Muh_mai_le_lo) September 10, 2021#ENGvIND England fans moaning about India refusing to play. Remember when England came to South Africa. Bio bubble was broken 3 times by the same player and they bailed from the tour. The hypocrisy
    — Cheap African Labour (@SeasonTravelerZ) September 10, 2021Didn't see SA winning the ODIs 3-0 when England returned. Hypocrisy much.
    — Fahad Moti Khan (@FahadMotiKhan) September 10, 2021India r in England since June BCCI even asked them 2 prepone the series but they refused, there was 9 days break between 2nd & 3rd test match just for scheduling The Hundred playoffs
Guess the Hypocrisy of blaming the IPL is ECB asking for a 9 days break for Hundred#copied
    — bikash dhakal (@bikkydhakal) September 10, 2021 The same English fans who are currently busy blaming Ravi Shastri attending a book launch event in London, didn’t say anything when their players had breached the biobubble in South Africa just to indulge in some leisure activities.
The same England fans who are demanding the Old Trafford Test be declared as forfeit so that their team could earn a 2-2 draw, didn’t make any such demands about South Africa being declared a 3-0 winner.
    © Reuters
The same England fans who are raising the issue to Indian players flouting the bio-bubble, kept mum when a same idiot named Daniel Jarvis exposed their poor security arrangements match after match and invaded the pitch at three different venues, turning them into laughing stock. In fact, they celebrated him as if he was their hero.

All those who follow cricket diligently know that there is one cricketer who can give his blood and soul to Test cricket, then it’s Virat Kohli. Legends like Shane Warne feel the whole world should thank the Indian skipper for making red-ball cricket his top priority.
    © Reuters
Accusing  a player, who has given his blood and soul to Test cricket, of giving more importance to the IPL money just exposes the hypocrisy of English fans.

One should remember that ignoring the harsh truth that we are living in currently, if you have started taking sides as per convenience, the cricket fan inside you has died.

Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivii features Kangana Ranaut in the role of late Tamil Nadu chief minister and actor J Jayalalithaa. The film also stars Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran and Madhoo among others. For the fans who have been waiting for the release of the movie, it has been released but sadly, multiplexes aren’t screening it.
Touted as one of the biggest Bollywood releases this month, Kangana's Thalaivii had set high hopes but with all these hurdles in its way, we wonder how long the run would be at the box office. Post Bell Bottom and Chehre, Thalaivii is the third Bollywood project to get an exclusive theatrical release in India.

People who have watched the movie are appreciating it but there aren’t many reactions on social media as with fewer screens, we are guessing many people will still have to catch the screening of the movie. People have appreciated her act and want her to win the National Award once again.

“Bhai nahi hai?” might just be one phrase in both Bollywood and in real life that, despite its overuse, can make even a grown-ass man cry.
Just this one line is enough to invoke a thousand sentiments in your fellow bro, who may not express his love and loyalty to you in a lot of words, but will be there standing beside you through thick and thin. Whether it is a relationship drama or beef with the colony boys.

    via GIPHY
And while Bollywood (like it does with every other relationship) has tried hard to imitate such bromance on reel-life as it is in real life, it has had its own share of failures.

Like in a few movies where in a bid to create some pure, iconic and tear-jerking friendship goals, all Bollywood has managed to create were some toxic, selfish and problematic on-screen male friendships:
    1. Dostana © Dharma Productions
Sam and Kunal, who even though were projected as lovers during half of the movie, actually ended up befriending each other to a point where people hailed the two for setting some major friendship goals.

But didn’t they lie to each other about not pursuing Neha, sabotage each other’s plans and also play at each other’s expense? Which good friend does that?
    2. Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety © T-Series
Don’t get me wrong, the song ‘tera yaar hoon main’ from the movie still moves us to tears but what doesn’t is the toxic and overly dependent bond that Sonu and Titu shared in the movie.

It’s good, even great, to have a best friend who has your back at all times. But no friend should be allowed to manipulate and gaslight you into doing what they want. Especially if it means convincing your best friend to cheat on his to-be-wife.
Seriously? Gotta draw the line somewhere!

First of all, what is with Bollywood’s fixation on making two guys who love the same girl, best friends? In what reality does that even happen?

Because in real life, two guys who are after the same woman could be a lot of things from enemies to indifferent, but never friends.
Especially the kind where one helps the other in getting the girl by becoming his love guru and giving him toxic gyaan like ‘6 din ladki in’.
    4. Pyaar Ka Punchnama © T-Series
As much as people loved the film for calling out toxic girlfriends, we hated it for not calling out toxic friendships. Like that of Rajat, Nishant and Vikrant who are all but day in and day out busy perpetuating hate towards all women.

Not once do any of the three friends stand up to their bullshit and ask them to simmer down or perhaps for a second, stop operating from such a bitter pov.
We’re all for supportive friends who can listen to a rant or two, but there needs to come a point where you can ask your friend to stop being so dramatic.
    5. Kabir Singh © T-Series
Kabir’s friend Shiva is by far one of the best ‘best friends’ that Bollywood has minted out in its movies, but yet, he reeks of problematic conduct especially in context to his relationship with his friend Kabir.

The job of a friend is usually to look out for their friends and have their back. All of which Shiva does wonderfully. But he forgets that as a friend, it is also his job to make sure his best friend doesn't ruin his life or make decisions that are visibly disastrous.
Instead of giving him some good advice, Shiva gets Kabir smokes, coke, liquor and even offers him to marry his own sister, despite knowing how bad an influence and demeanour his friend had. If that is not literally toxic, what is?

Bollywood is relentless. Churning out films, year after year, it’s managed a longevity that few other industries have been able to emulate. In fact, it is one of the biggest film industries in the world, releasing movies on a seemingly endless conveyor belt for the public’s entertainment.

Malayalam cinema is renowned for its excellent storytelling, and the Malayali audiences are harsh critics of their films. So if a Malayalam film does well in Kerala, then chances are it’d work elsewhere as well.
The Hindi film industry is known to keep an eye on regional cinema. If something clicks regionally, they’re more than willing to recreate the formula for their hindi speaking audiences. And more often than not, they attempt to recreate films from Kerala.
Here are 10 Bollywood movies that are actually remakes of Malayalam films:
    1. Katha Parayumbol - Billu Barber Based on the classic tale of Krishna and Sudama’s friendship, Katha Parayumbol was a contemporary retelling by M Mohanan. Sreenivasan plays Balan, a barber who is childhood friends with superstar Ashokraj, played by Mammootty. In the Hindi remake, Irfan played the role of the humble barber, while Shah Rukh Khan played  Mammooty’s character. The screenplay for the Malayalam original was written by Sreenivasan himself, and it found widespread success. It has gone on to be remade in Tamil and Telugu as well.

    2. Manichitrathazhu - Bhool Bhulaiyaa Manichitrathazhu is probably one of the most iconic Malayalam films ever made. With talents like Mohanlal and Shobana leading the cast, it was bound to be a success. No wonder filmmaker Priyaradshan decided to risk making a Hindi remake. While Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a decent film on its own, despite Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s presence, the hindi version pales in comparison to Manichitrathazhu’s cult status.

    3. Bodyguard - BodyguardHelmed by cinema stalwart Siddique, the Malayalam film had actor Dileep leading the cast alongside a recently returned Nayanthara. It’s another film that’s been remade in Hindi by the same director. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan played the titular role and added his own charm to the film. Alongside him was actor Kareena Kapoor.

    4. Ramji Rao Speaking - Hera PheriAnother cult classic from Kerala, Ramji Rao Speaking is guaranteed to burst you into peals of laughter. The chemistry between the actors, Mukesh, Saikumar and Innocent contributed to the excellent comedic timing throughout the film. It’s Hindi remake was an unexpected hit as well, thanks to an excellent shift put in by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.

    5. Vellanakalude Naadu - Khatta MeethaThere’s a pattern emerging over here - Priyadarshan seems to be responsible for a majority of these Malayalam to Hindi remakes. By this point in their careers, Mohanlal and Shobana had managed to forge a successful chemistry. Akshay Kumar starred in the Bollywood remake alongside Tamil actress Trisha. The hindi version managed to do decently well for itself.

    6. Perumazhakkalam - Dor Starring Meera Jasmine, Kavya Madhavan and Dileep, Perumazhakkalam was critically acclaimed but failed to produce box office numbers. The same issue plagued Dor, it’s Bollywood remake starring Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade.

    7. Drishyam - DrishyamDrishyam was a cinematic phenomenon that resulted in several remakes across many regional languages. The Malayalam superhit had Mohanlal playing the leading role of George Kutty, and the hindi remake had Ajay Devgn taking up that mantle.

    8. Traffic - TrafficReleased in 2011, Traffic was based on a real life incident that happened in Chennai. Sreenivasan and Kunchacko Boban, along with a well written script by Bobby Sanjay made it a hit. However, the Hindi version featuring Manoj Bajpayee and Jimmy Shergill tanked at the box office, having barely broken even.

    9. Pokkiri Raja - BossStarring Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Pokkiri Raja was a masala entertainer, it didn’t fare well with the critics but still managed to turn in a tidy profit. Akshay Kumar was roped in to recreate the magic in Hindi along with Aditi Rao Hydari and Mithun Chakraborty. However, the movie received mixed reviews.

    10. Ayyappanum Koshiyum Remake (Work In Progress)The 2020 action thriller was well received by audiences. Now, John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor have been confirmed to be a part of Ayappanum Koshiyum’s Hindi Remake. John would be reprising Biju Menon’s role from the original whereas Arjun Kapoor would be stepping into Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character.

It seems like Bollywood has amassed quite a number of remakes ‘inspired’ by Malayalam originals. Were you able to guess any of them? Do let us know in the comments section below.
