    Jassie Gill is a popular singer from the Punjabi film industry and before he set his foot in Bollywood, he did many Punjabi films such as Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya and Channo Kamli Yaar Di with Neeru Bajwa.
    Talking about his career in the Hindi film industry, Jassie made his debut in Bollywood with the film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill, and Diana Penty. 
    And while it may seem that Jassie had it easy on the professional front, that’s not the reality. In a recent interview, he mentioned that he used to wash cars in Australia.

    Talking about the same, Jassie said, "Ye 2009-10 ki baat hain. Main pehle batata nahi tha zyada kyunki main tourist visa pe tha vaha pe (I didn't address this earlier because I was on a tourist visa). Illegal way mein tha, kaam karta tha (I worked illegally in Australia)."
    He added,"Yaha se main tourist visa pe gaya tha. Main apni mummy ke saath gaya tha. Vaha pe rehke maine 3-3.5 months, maine kaam kiya tha lagatar - car wash ka."
    Gill also said that he used the money he earned in Australia to create his first music album.
    He added,"But kahi na kahi vo meri mehnat ka paisa tha (But it was my hard-earned money). Ussi paise ka maine album kiya (I utilised the money to create album). Vohi main bolta hu hamesha jo main chala hu industry mein, ussi paise ke saath chala hun (I always say that I have been able to work in the industry because of the I amount I received).”

    Jassie will be next seen in Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?. He further shared that he continuously worked overseas to make more and more money.  
    He said, "Haan ye zaroor hai ki maine vaha car wash kiya tha, maine 3.5 months non-stop (kaam kiya), ek bhi din holiday nahi thi (Didn't have an off even for a day). Sunday bhi main kaam karta raha (I used to work on Sunday as well)

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the whole country a huge surprise by announcing former India skipper MS Dhoni will join Team India as a mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

    Despite performing well, the Indian cricket team under Virat Kohli hasn’t been able to win any ICC trophies, with the latest heartbreak coming in the World Test Championship final where they lost to New Zealand by eight wickets, thereby fluffing the chance of becoming the inaugural world Test champions.

    Dhoni, on the other hand, was one of the most successful skippers of all time, winning all three ICC trophies during his tenure. Bringing an experienced leader like him into the dressing room for the marquee event was described as a masterstroke by many cricket pundits around the world. 
    Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar, who is one of the most respected names in world cricket, was also delighted with the news but at the same time, he was worried that the move could backfire if Dhoni and head coach Ravi Shastri clashed over issues like tactics and team selection.

    So, everyone was waiting to see how Shastri would react to Dhoni’s inclusion as a mentor of the team.  

    Contrary to Gavaskar’s apprehensions, the 59-year-old former all-rounder welcomed the BCCI’s move with open arms, saying he “couldn't have asked for anything better”. 
    When asked “The team couldn’t have asked for anything better. The BCCI has thought this out extremely well and put the plans in place. Having MS Dhoni in the dressing-room and the dugout will be a huge shot in the arm for the boys. It’s a great move,” Shastri told the Times of India.
    “We all know what experience he brings to the table. What more can the team ask for? When I first heard from the secretary I was absolutely thrilled at the idea. In the end, it's about India’s aspirations, not individuals. In that, we should look to put our best foot forward,” he added.

    Gavaskar was appointed as the team consultant in 2004 but he was not welcomed by the then head coach John Wright, who felt insecure about his own position in the team, and the ‘Little Master’ assumed Dhoni might also face the same issue as he did more than a decade ago.

    However, Shastri’s comments are a lesson for Gavaskar that the team dynamics is completely different than what it used to be back in the day.  
    Most of the senior players in the current squad made their debut under Dhoni’s leadership and have immense respect for the former captain.

    Not to forget, Dhoni has only retired from international cricket but is still active in the Indian Premier League , where he leads Chennai Super Kings.  

    He has no interest in coaching the team, so there shouldn’t be any clash of egos because it’s a short-term arrangement for a one-off tournament.

    The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that the fifth and final Test match between India and England in Manchester’s Old Trafford cricket ground has been officially cancelled. 
    According to the official statement released by the ECB, this has occurred due to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) being “unable to field a team. The Indian cricket board also showed hesitancy towards the postponement.
    Already, the Manchester Test was looking a bit doubtful after India head coach Ravi Shastri and his bowling and field coaches were tested positive with the COVID-19 virus ahead of the final day of the fourth Test at The Oval cricket ground.
    Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test at Emirates Old Trafford, due to start today, will be cancelled.

    Eventually, more and more people from the Indian squad began to test positive. It wasn’t until last evening that the ECB had decided to put their foot down and make the call for postponing the match.  
    However, with yet another member of the Indian contingent found to have contracted the virus today, they had no option but to call it off considering the safety and health of everyone else involved in the series. 
    One of the biggest reasons why the Indian cricket board was against delaying the final Test was the fact that the second half of the Indian Premier League is set to begin from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates.  
    Players already have a very narrow travelling window between the Test series and the IPL and a delay in their travel plans would have had a chain reaction, thereby causing issues with the Indian T20 league.

    Cricketers from both sides will have to travel to the Middle East, spend at least a week’s time in quarantine and self-isolation, and then join their respective franchises to start practising. As a result, sticking to the allotted timeline was of the essence. 
    What does it mean for the India-England Test series? Under such circumstances, one of two things is bound to happen: 
    1. Test 5 Gets Scraped: According to the rule book, if a Test gets cancelled due to bad weather or any other naturally occurring issues, then the match is not counted as officially taking place.  
    If the timelines do not agree with the two sides’ schedules and the fifth match gets cancelled which would mean that Virat Kohli and the Men in Blue will win the series with a 2-1 lead. This would lead them finally register their first Test series win in England in over 14 years.
    2. Team India Forfeits Test 5:However, there is also a possibility of the Indian cricket team taking a loss in the fifth Test if the BCCI prioritises the IPL over the Test series. 
    Since the ECB will be fine with postponing the match, the urgency comes from the touring side. 
    If an agreement is not reached between the two cricket boards and the Men in Blue leave the series in the middle, it would be counted as a forfeit and the series will end in a 2-2 tie.

    When you lose an immense amount of weight, everyone takes notice. People compliment you for the healthy choices you made and are often inspired by your journey. 
    Now, place a leader in this situation. A super important, powerful one. The impact would be quite a lot, don't you think? 
    North Korean leader Kim Jong Un took centre stage at the military parade recently and made headlines around the world for his thinner frame. Moreover, he also looked tanned the right amount with a haircut that would remind one of his grandfather and state founder Kim Il Sung.

    While the set-up looked tremendous and included military dogs and virus workers decked in orange hazmat suits, it was Kim who stole all the attention with his transformation. 

    Wearing a cream suit with a shiny tie, Kim arrived as the clock hit midnight and was welcomed with thunderous applause from people in the crowd as the Kim II square lit up marking his presence. 
    He waved at the audience and gave kisses to kids as he was presented with flowers before taking his place before the people.

    A few years ago, Kim was overweight and was also a smoker; hence, whenever he made an appearance, he was always spotted wheezing and barely able to move.  

    Reports state that his weight loss results from his efforts to keep in shape rather than a health condition, as he has to make regular public appearances. However, it may be for political reasons as well.  
    His weight loss was pretty visible since June after he made his first appearance in weeks. Since his grandfather and father both died due to heart attacks, people were worried about Kim as he stopped making appearances.  
    People who have been keenly observing and monitoring the North Korean leader said that Kim, who is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighed 308 pounds and has lost 22-44 pounds.  
    At the parade, a lot of North Koreans broke down seeing his transformation out of concern as questions about his health had been previously raised.

    This time though, his frame was thinner as opposed to the footage from 2018 that showed him struggling to catch his breath as he accompanied South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

    After the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently revealed Team India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021, reports have emerged suggesting that off-spinner and all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin wasn’t the first choice for captain Virat Kohli. Reports have also suggested how it was Rohit Sharma who helped Ashwin get a spot on the final roster.
    In an article published by the Times of India, it is suggested that Kohli was more inclined towards having Washington Sundar as the main bowling all-rounder for the tournament. His own condition for allowing a berth for Ashwin was if “Sundar’s performance dipped drastically”.

    However, since Sundar got severely injured during the warm-up match ahead of the Test series between India and England, he was automatically sidelined.
    The TOI report also suggests that it was India’s T20 and ODI vice-captain Rohit Sharma whose “backing” helped the 34-year old Ashwin make a return to the limited-overs format ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021 after four long years of waiting.

    Interestingly, the selection committee paid a lot more attention to Rohit Sharma’s recommendations and took special note of how much the Mumbai Indians skipper wanted to have Ashwin by his side during the World Cup matches. One of the major reasons for choosing the veteran to make a return was the slow pitches of the United Arab Emirates, where the tournament will be taking place.
    Eventually, both Sharma and Kohli advocated the fact that Ashwin has been one of the toughest spinners to face against in the Indian Premier League in the last few seasons and that he would be an asset to the team in the UAE conditions.

    The Indian locker room is also under the impression that Rohit Sharma’s brilliance as the Mumbai Indians skipper has earned him the right to be taken a lot more seriously when it comes to Team India’s decision-making processes, especially for white-ball cricket.

    The last few months have been really tough for the veteran off-spinner as he was constantly overlooked during the England Test series and couldn’t find a place in the Playing XI for the first four matches.

    From fans to cricket experts around the world, everybody thought Ashwin deserved a place in the starting XI but the team management, including skipper Virat Kohli, views things differently and he doesn’t seem to fit in their scheme of things. 

    With the World No 2 bowler being used as a drinks carrier throughout the series, nobody expected him to find a place in the shortest format squad.
    So, when the team was announced, Ashwin’s selection brought a huge smile on the faces of his fans, who wanted to see him back in the side. His selection also shut down those who were accusing the team management of not respecting him enough and not giving importance to what he has done for Indian cricket.

    While Ashwin’s fans are celebrating thinking they would get to see him play white-ball cricket for India after a long time, legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar is not quite sure if that would happen. 

    Gavaskar believes by including him in the T20 World squad, the selectors have given Ashwin a “consolation cup” to make up for the disappointment of getting snubbed from the Test team in England. 

    “Ashwin's return is a good thing but we'll have to wait and see if he gets a place in the playing XI. You have selected him in the 15, that's alright, you chose him in the squad in England as well but are not giving him the chance in the XI,” Gavaskar said on Sport Tak. 
    “So, he's perhaps just given a consolation cup to make up for the disappointment that he might have from here (in England). Will he play in the XI? Only time will tell,” he explained.

    We shouldn't be surprised that Gavaskar is looking at things from a negative lens as there's nothing new in it.  
    When the whole world was delighted with Dhoni joining the team as a mentor, the ‘Little Master’ was worried that the move could backfire if there was a clash between him and head coach Ravi Shastri.

    Well, you only get a glimpse of Priyanka Chopra who is reading the book Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass which is also a reference to the theme of alternative realities of the film.

    Shubman Gill has managed to laud Virat Kohli and enrage Cristiano Ronaldo fans with just one tweet and many feel that this is his way of getting back in the good books of the Indian cricket team’s captain with the hopes of getting a call back for more international matches.

    On the other hand, the Indian cricket team will also be starting their campaign for the fifth and final Test match during the England tour from today onwards. This means that on Saturday, both Kohli and Ronaldo will be no more than a 10-minute walk away from each other.
    Now, according to Gill, the only reason why Ronaldo made his decision to return to this club was for this very day, when he would try and get a sneak peak at the Indian skipper and who knows, if he is lucky, and Kohli would have heard his name, he might even agree to see him in person!     Gill had to have the worst luck during India’s tour of England as he was ruled out of the entire Test series against Joe Root and Co. after suffering shin splints after losing the World Test Championship final against New Zealand earlier this year.
    As he made his journey back home and spent at least a month’s time recovering from the injuries, the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul clicked just right as the two went on to form good partnerships at the top. Hence, the chances of the 22-year old making it back to the squad anytime soon got bleak once again.
