The first Matrix movie intrigued the audience with its mindblowing visuals and detailed science fiction scenes, and Keanu Reeves came out as a star after the release of the film.

The movie also featured other big names, including Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Laurence Fishburne, in supporting roles.
The Matrix trilogy made $1.2 billion worldwide, and the latest instalment, The Matrix Resurrections, will release in December.

As we prepare to see the first glimpse of the trailer, there's something that we weren't aware of or didn't know about.

It is said that Keanu Reeves reportedly gave away millions of dollars from his salary to the team of the movie. As per reports from the Wall Street Journal's 2001 report, Keanu 'doesn't always seem motivated by money.'
The report also said that Keanu has handed over money from his salary to other actors or crew from several movies.

He also gave away part of his salary in the 1996 movie The Devil's Advocate when Al Pacino asked for more money.

Keanu also gave up his share for the Matrix movies back in the early 2000s and used the money for visual effects and costume departments of the films.
The report quoted, “He felt that they were the ones who made the movie and that they should participate. The actor reportedly made $10 million for the first Matrix film, and after all, was said and done, he ended up making $35 million. His profit-sharing deals for the sequels were higher, estimated to being between anywhere from $40 million to over $100 million.

Keanu hasn't discussed this in public, and during the press conference in 2019 for John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, he was quoted saying, “I’d rather people didn’t know that. It was a private transaction. It was something I could afford to do, a worthwhile thing to do.”

The second and third Matrix movies were released in 2003, and after a long wait, The Matrix Resurrections, directed by Wachowski – Lana, is all set to hit the big screen.

The movie also has several actors, including our global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Ricci, and more actors.

India’s tour of England has been particularly harsh for all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, despite his squad taking 2-1 lead in the series and is one win or draw away from winning their first red-ball series in England in over 14 years.
The reason? Not being able to play a single delivery or bowl a single ball in the last four matches that have already taken place, despite being one of the most consistent performances for Virat Kohli’s team in the longest format of the game for over the past couple of years.
    View this post on Instagram
However, the Chennai-born had great news to share with his family, friends and fans after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially included him in India’s final squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 and announced it on Twitter for the public to know.
This is when Ashwin shared the message he had written for himself back in 2017 when he was dropped from the regular player rotation of the Men in Blue and got sidelined by other players across all formats.
2017: I wrote this quote down a million times in my diary before putting this up on the wall! Quotes that we read and admire have more power when we internalise them and apply in life.

Happiness and gratitude are the only 2 words that define me now. #t20worldcup2021 pic.twitter.com/O0L3y6OBLl

“2017: I wrote this quote down a million times in my diary before putting this up on the wall! Quotes that we read and admire have more power when we internalise them and apply in life. Happiness and gratitude are the only 2 words that define me now," Ashwin wrote on Twitter while sharing a photo of a wall at his home on which he had put his hand-written just to remind himself of where he had come from, every single day.
“Happiness and gratitude are the only 2 words that define me now. #t20worldcup2021” he added while showing his appreciation for for getting a call to represent his country at the highest level of cricket in the shortest format of the game.

    — BCCI (@BCCI) September 8, 2021
As far as Ashwin’s dreams of playing Test cricket in England is concerned, there is still some hope as the series moves to its final location at Old Trafford in Manchester where Team India will either have to draw the match or win it in order to secure the series win.
At the moment, India is at the number one spot in the World Test Championship Points Table with 26 points after winning the matches at Lord’s and The Oval cricket ground.

It seems like WhatsApp isn’t as private as we all thought. WhatsApp has been advertising as a messaging platform with privacy being one of its main pillars. However, a new detailed report by ProPublica revealed how WhatsApp actually works and their inner workings of the moderation system. In fact, the report reveals information that has so far been kept secret from its users so far. Long story short, WhatsApp, under specific circumstances can read messages sent between users.
    © Unsplash/aarn-giri
The report claims WhatsApp currently employs at least 1,000 contractors that use “special Facebook software” to scan content flagged by the machine learning system or when reported by other users. The content that the “special software” scans for varies from spam, terrorist activity, child pornography and beyond.

WhatsApp officially has said repeatedly that only senders and recipients of text messages can see their chats. It was a major talking point for the company when end-to-end encryption rolled out for the instant messaging app. However, the fact that WhatsApp has a moderation system in place that can see messages using “special software” is completely contradictory to WhatsApp’s marketing and messaging.
The Reason Why WhatsApp Has A Content Review System WhatsApp’s reasoning behind the content review system is necessary and arguably understandable. The instant messaging platform told ProPublica that the process allows the company to ban abusive and harmful users. The company also said that users have to first initiate the reporting process in order for the content review system to kick in. When a user is reported, WhatsApp “unscrambles” messages that are deemed offensive and four previous messages as well. While moderators can see these messages, they cannot access the entire chat library nor does the “special software”.
    © Unsplash/rachit-tank-lZBs
Moderators can then either dismiss the reported message, ban the user’s account or place them on a “watch list.” Having said that, the report also claims that some unencrypted data can also be scanned. Accounts that have been placed in a “proactive” list for suspicious practices, will have certain data revealed to the moderators such as their phone number, their status message, unique mobile ID and their groups. Other data such as battery level or signal strength can also be accessed according to ProPublica.

While it does make sense to have a content moderating system in place, neater WhatsApp nor Facebook have revealed specific details about the system until now. The problem arises due to WhatsApp’s lack of clarity and transparency with its users. Facebook believes that the review system isn’t really problematic for WhatsApp users. “Based on the feedback we’ve received from users, we’re confident people understand when they make reports to WhatsApp, we receive the content they send us,” Facebook told ProPublica.

Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma is one of the longest running shows on TV and also one of the only shows which the entire family enjoys watching together. One of the funniest tracks on the show is the one-sided love that the character of Jethalal harbours towards his neighbour Babita Ji, played by actress Munmun Dutta. His evident crush seems to be the premise of some very funny situations as well.
However in a twist of turns in real life, reports claim that Munmun Dutta, who is the love interest of Jethalal on the show is actually dating fellow actor Raj Anadkat, who plays Tappu, Jethalal’s son on the show. A source confirmed to Etimes that this piece of information, which was earlier a rumour, is indeed true. "Nobody teases them; they don't try to steal moments with each other. The love story is actually old and one wonders how it hasn't come out till date," it said.

The couple has an age difference of 9 years and recently Raj was trolled for commenting on her pictures on Instagram as well. That is also when the rumours of them dating began to flow on the internet. Munmum recently joined back the show after she was laid-off for a while for her comments made in a YouTube video.  People on social media are actually surprised with this piece of information.

Celebrities are unable to keep their personal lives private, thanks to the paparazzi who leave no stone unturned in clicking actors, even when they are at their worst.

This happens even when they are stepping out of the gym in their sweaty gym clothes or, sometimes, funerals.
Recently, Shehnaz Gill was snapped up close by the paps, right in her face as she was grieving. Many celebrities and people were irked and asked the paps to respect her space.

Even actor Janhvi Kapoor recently admitted that she tried to evade paparazzi and too extreme measures just to not get clicked.

She was seen on a celebrity cooking show called Star Vs Food. Here, celebs create restaurant-like meals under the supervision of a master chef.
Janhvi remembered some anecdotes and mentioned how she often has to hide from the paps. She said that she always keeps a blanket with her in the car and often hides in the trunk so that the paparazzi don't see her.
The Gunjan Saxena star is often clicked outside her gym, and it is understandable why it infuriates her so much. She appeared on the show with her gym trainer and friend Namrata Purohit, and they spoke about how they would manage to skedaddle the paparazzi, and the chase situation made it appear like a Fast and Furious moment.
    © Instagram/The Paps
Namrata said, "She was like, ‘Namo, you have to help me, they can’t click me, they can't see me!' So we've sent her car out from the other side, and I'm feeling like a horrible person because those guys (the photographers) are sweet guys. But it was just that situation where she needed to get out that day. So her car's gone that way so they thought she's gone the other way. She's jumped into my car, and we've gotten out. And then we have this whole chase going on. I felt like I was in Fast & Furious."

    © Instagram/The Paps
Janhvi further added, "They were literally chasing us on bikes, and we were going around in her car, and then we had to stop at a dingy location… You know the amount of times I've hid in the dikki (boot) of my car? So many times! And there's always a blanket in my car. There's always a blanket if I'm at a place I'm not supposed to be at, or with someone I'm not supposed to be with.”

    © Instagram/Janhvi Kapoor
We are sure that not just Janhvi but many celebrities might feel like hiding, especially when they do not wish to be clicked.

The actress has several projects lined up for her. She will be in Dostana 2, Good Luck Jerry and Mili.

Virat Kohli’s trumpet gesture to mock the Barmy Army, England’s fan group, became a big issue of discussion after India won the fourth Test at The Oval cricket ground as many felt the Indian skipper was wrong to act out. However, Michael Vaughan disagrees and rather supports Kohli’s actions.
With just one day left for the fifth and final match of the Test series between India and England begins, former England captain Michael Vaughan’s interview with Fox Sports, has caught a lot of attention because of how the Englishman is backing up Kohli for mocking the Barmy Army in the middle of the ground.

“Virat Kohli is an incredible leader… He's just got this buzz of energy. He was taking the p*** out of the Barmy Army with these trumpet signs,” Vaughan said. “I love it. We don't have enough characters in the game and mimicking the crowd, trying to get his own supporters going. When they came out after lunch he was getting them going.”
“It was like he was at the end of the long jump in the Olympics trying to get the crowd going. He's an amazing character and yesterday he gave a tactical masterclass on how to win a Test match,” Vaughan added in complimenting the Indian batsman’s character.
Yes we know you want to be in the army Virat. We get the hint #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/lFCk8FCCte
    — England's Barmy Army (@TheBarmyArmy) September 6, 2021
There were many who criticised Kohli for pulling such a stunt while being in the Team India uniform and on the field. Many felt that it took away credit and the spirit of a sportsman from the cricketer for letting the spectators get the better out of him so much so that he ended up retaliating with gestures of his own.
However, the Team England fan group, the Barmy Army did not share such hostile views towards the Indian athlete. Instead, they tipped their hat off to him for getting involved in the banter with the rival team’s fan base and making the experience of watching Test cricket a lot more fun.
We can give it so we can take it so fair play Virat

    See you in Manchester @imVkohli

Virat Kohli and the Barmy Army will see each other in Manchester for the fifth and final match of the series. With a 2-1 lead already in the bank, the Men in Blue either need to win or draw the match in order to get their first Test series victory in England in over 14 years.

On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be mentoring the Indian cricket team during the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 tournament and now one of Dhoni’s biggest critics, Gautam Gambhir has finally reacted to the news.
Gambhir has been one of the loudest voices in the Indian cricket fraternity to question Dhoni’s decision-making as a captain. On more than one occasion, the southpaw has also opined against the public perception of the skipper single-handedly winning major achievements for the country, including the World Cup back in 2011.

He has questioned Dhoni’s rotation policies which involved rotating between India’s top three batsmen in Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gambhir himself, about a decade ago and called it “complete crap”.
So, it was obvious that there would be a lot of public attention and a lot of interested fans eagerly waiting for Gambhir to respond to the news of Dhoni mentoring the Men in Blue for the biggest tournament in the shortest format of the game.
Just a reminder @ESPNcricinfo: #worldcup2011 was won by entire India, entire Indian team & all support staff. High time you hit your obsession for a SIX. pic.twitter.com/WPRPQdfJrV
    — Gautam Gambhir (@GautamGambhir) April 2, 2020
However, contrary to popular belief, Gambhir did not lash out or say anything negative about the Indian cricket board’s decision to have ‘Captain Cool’ imparting his experience and knowledge with the Virat Kohli-led squad. Instead, the former opening batsman appreciated the move and acknowledged the fact that having Dhoni by their side will be an asset to the Indian cricket team under tricky circumstances.
“MS Dhoni as a mentor with his experience of handling the pressure could be of huge advantage for the young players in the T20 World Cup," Gambhir said in a conversation with Star Network.
But still, there are many who refused to believe that Gambhir is actually fine with the BCCI making such special arrangements for Dhoni:

    — Don (@MaihunDonn) September 9, 2021Even the great Sunil Gavaskar feels that having Dhoni as a mentor would be extremely beneficial for the team, especially the younger stars like Rishabh Pant and the newcomers like Suryakumar Yadav, who will be trusted with the responsibility of finishing the matches with their steady yet quickfire batting - something Dhoni did exceptionally well back in the day.
Another point that Gavaskar feels is working in Dhoni’s favour is the chemistry he shares with the Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri and how “if Shastri and Dhoni can get on the same wavelength, it’s big news for India.”

After much speculation and predictions in the last few weeks, the moment millions of Indian fans were waiting for with bated breath has finally arrived, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup.

Despite Team India currently fighting it out in an enthralling Test series in England, the fans and experts had their one eye fixed on the T20 World team selection. And why wouldn’t it be? After all, it’s been more than a decade since India last won an ICC trophy.
"Former India Captain @msdhoni to mentor the team for the T20 World Cup" - Honorary Secretary @JayShah #TeamIndia
    — BCCI (@BCCI) September 8, 2021
Each one of us, who follow cricket diligently, had picked the squad based on our own understanding of the game but, it’s fair to say, our list looked completely different to what was announced by BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Wednesday night.
The squad has plenty of surprises.
First of all, MS Dhoni’s inclusion as the mentor of the team was the biggest surprise and brought a smile to all our faces. Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was included in the white-ball squad after a long absence, while premier leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal couldn’t find a place in a squad that had five spinners in it.
Let’s have a look a seven hits and misses in India’s T20 World Cup squad announced by the BCCI:
    1. Mahi Is Back! - Hit
The Reunion we all have been waiting for @msdhoni returns to mentor #TeamIndia for the #T20WorldCup

How excited are you to see him back? pic.twitter.com/znPWBLeYNo
    — BCCI (@BCCI) September 8, 2021
Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is back with the Indian team -- albeit just for this tournament. The move makes sense, as despite performing well across formats, Team India has nothing to show for its efforts in terms of silverware.
So, having a legend who has been there and done that, winning all three ICC limited-overs trophies, is only going to help Virat Kohli and his team get closer to their goal. Also, the camaraderie Kohli and Dhoni share is very special and fans would hope that they weave their magic in the UAE and bring the trophy home.
    2. Yuzvendra Chahal Left Out- Miss
    View this post on Instagram
Chahal’s not making it to the T20 World Cup squad was the biggest shock as most experts thought his place, not just in the squad but the PLaying XI, was all but guaranteed. Also, with Chahal playing under Kohli for RCB in the IPL, nobody thought he would lose his place to inexperienced Rahul Chahar.
Not to forget the last time when the IPL was played in the UAE, Chahal had picked 21 wickets in just 15 matches, with an outstanding economy of 7.08 runs per over. The selectors have certainly overlooked his past record, otherwise, they wouldn’t have left him out.
    3. Ravichandran Ashwin’s Shock Return - Hit
    View this post on Instagram
The veteran off-spinner has made a shock return to the squad after a long hiatus of four years. Despite performing well and troubling top-quality batsmen in the longest format, Ravichandran Ashwin was overlooked time and again and it seemed as if his white-ball was over.
Washington Sundar’s injury played a big role in Ashwin’s return as the selectors wanted to have a quality off-spinner in the side and in Sundar’s absence, Ashwin was their best bet. Also, most teams around the world have left-handers in their top-order and his love affair with the southpaws is no secret.
    4. Deepak Chahar Ignored - Miss
Deepak Chahar impressed with both bat and ball on the Sri Lanka tour and everybody thought he had all but sealed his place in the T20 World Cup squad. However, the CSK medium pacer could only make the squad as one of three standby players.
The fact that the selectors went in with so many spin-bowling options forced them to include only three frontline fast bowlers in the squad -- Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami.
Chahar has already shown that apart from being a potential wicket threat during the powerplay, he can be more than handy with the bat lower down the order. Having him in the squad certainly would have given Kohli more options.
    5. Rahul Chahar - Hit
    View this post on Instagram
The fact that Virat Kohli and the selectors have picked Rahul Chahar ahead of the more experienced Yuzvendra Chahal speaks volumes of his quality.
Playing for IPL champions Mumbai Indians that is full of stars, the 22-year-old leggie has made a giant stride in the last few years. In fact, he has become such an important part of Rohit Sharma’s side that he is one of the first names on the team sheet. When the IPL 2021 stopped earlier this year, he was on a roll picking up 11 wickets in just seven outings.
In whatever limited opportunities he has got, he has left a mark on the international stage as well and that is why selectors have preferred him to Yuzi Chahal.
    6. No ‘Lord’ Shardul Thakur - Miss
    View this post on Instagram
Shardul Thakur had failed to make the cut despite showing his all-round brilliance in the fourth Test at the Oval. Everything he touched turned to gold in the match and most experts and fans were unanimous about his place in the team. Hence, it was surprising that he was only picked as a reserve player.
The selectors have shown immense faith in Hardik Pandya’s all-round abilities but we haven’t seen him bowl at full tilt yet, whereas Thakur by smashing the second-fastest Test fifty by an Indian player has shown the whole world what he is capable of.
When it comes to bowling, there is no doubt that Thakur is way more skilful than Hardik.
    7. Shikhar Dhawan - Miss
    View this post on Instagram
Another decision that surprised the whole world was the omission of veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan, who, as per selectors, has been “rested”. But you don’t need to be a genius to look past the hollowness of this statement.
The southpaw from Delhi captained a second-string side on the limited-overs tour to Sri Lanka and was India’s leading run-scorer in the three-match ODI series. Before that, he lit up the IPL 2021 with his performance, leading the Orange Cap race with 380 runs in eight matches.
The selectors picked Ishan Kishan instead of him as the backup opener who did well in Sri Lanka but struggled for runs in the first half of IPL 2021.
Also, going into a big tournament like the T20 World Cup, it’s always good to have some experienced players in the side as they are better adept at dealing with pressure situations.
