Ranbir Kapoor as an actor is like a bottle of fine wine, only getting better with age. However, after being a fan for so many years, a hilarious epiphany hit me recently. One of the best actors of the industry has a common denominator that is basically his character leaving a wedding in the middle of the narrative of the movie. Let’s start with where it began.

In the ‘desi’ John Tucker movie Bachna Ae Haseeno, he promises marriage to Bipasha and then in a dramatic style, literally leaves her at the aisle (or in this case, on the stairs of the court) in a red lehenga which is basically probably made out of all the red flags of their relationship. I want to know that I am unable to hide my basic plan of going out on a Sunday date from nosey relatives, then how on Earth did you, bro, manage to get a job, a visa and decide to book a flight on the day you were supposed to get married!? Mana kar dete na?
Okay, maybe that was too mainstream I guess. How did she never find out he was running away? Like all that packing, all those oversees plans can be seen and heard since they live in a cupboard sized apartment. Well, guess that is what the script demanded.

Coming to his next outing with ex beau Katrina Kaif in Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, he quits a wedding when his love is getting married to her lover. Again, so dramatic and maybe at this point he just wants to make an impact. The next two mentions in this list are illustrations of how one defines a ‘grand exit’. In Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, the guy probably first ghosts his BFFs for his ‘main udhna chahta huun’ dreams, slyly accepts the wedding invite years later only to ghost them again (almost). I mean why will you invite someone to a beautiful wedding (also read VERY EXPENSIVE) only for them to not even wait till dinner is served and basically run away amidst the wedding fireworks in the background. Like why do you keep running away, from love, from friendship?

By this time, I was convinced that this wonderful actor cannot be given a script which again has a man-child growing up and trying hard to break the shackles of his own toxicity. Then comes the beautifully aesthetic Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. 15 minutes into the movie and you realize no way bro! not again. By the time channa mereya comes, I cannot stop laughing at the audacity of these production houses who keep putting his character in the same mold. This time, like an anti-climax, time ticking bomb, he explodes his emotions by first giving us a beautiful heart break song, making us drown in the sorrow of his ‘toota hua dil’, and then, like nothing ever happened, leaves that girl, smirks at the groom and decides to run away in the opposite direction of the baraat with the backpack which he’s carrying from college and is also carrying the weight of his unrealistic expectations.

I would say something similar for the heartbreak his character endures in Rockstar when Heer is getting married, but that movie is so beautiful, it feels sacrilegious to even comment. However, you get the drill, right?
However, all things said and done, in good humour of course, I pray, as a Ranbir fan, that some amazing scripts comes his way where we get to see him do what he does best: emote anything wonderfully. Till then, I will obviously continue rewatching these movies because no one knows when we get to see him in Brahmastra.

It’s happened to you, it’s happened to me and chances are it has even happened to the Sharma ji ka ladka living next door, because dating in this day and age is like walking through a millennial mine-field, and none of us are that lucky to survive without any casualties.
    © iStock
And no matter how common being left on read may be, it still hurts like a b*tch. Especially, when you feel that the conversation is going in full steam only to be suddenly ghosted by your potential love interest.

Simply looking at that blue tick feature on WhatsApp or the 4 letter word ‘seen’ on Instagram DM breaks your heart and hopes into a million pieces, just as your ego takes an ugly hit leaving you at your most vulnerable.

    via GIPHY
It is in this moment that a lot of us have done stuff that we regretted later on, especially when it included serenading the other person with more messages to be left on read.
Therefore, so you don’t make a fool out of yourself in case such a moment befalls you again, here are 4 things to do after you’ve been left on read:
    1. Be Patient
    © iStock
Even though history is proof that most times when you’re left on read, it is for a very obvious reason, there have been times when it’s simply a case of missing the message.

The other person could be busy, could’ve forgotten or simply cast aside the chat to reply back when they had enough time on their hands for a conversion. Either way, it is a good idea to not jump to any conclusions anytime soon.
Wait it out a day, give the other a benefit of doubt because who knows they might just reply and come with a decent explanation for their behaviour.
    2. DON’T Double Text
    © iStock
A simple way to make matters go from bad to worse is by double-texting. Because when you’re dropping an additional text or twenty after having been left on read one time, you’re risking yourself to be seen-zoned yet again. And this time, it would hurt more.

Don’t haste into it, for the last thing you’d want to come across is as a creep or desperate. If the other person has to talk to you and really feels the urge to reach out to you, they will do it despite you having to text them ten times a day.
    3.  Don’t Guilt-Trip Them Into Texting Back
    © iStock
At the time, it may seem like a lucrative option, especially since guilt-ridden provocative messages are bound to extract a reaction, but in the bigger picture, all it does is make you seem butt-hurt and petty.

Think about it this way, if you really have to make a person realise how they did wrong by you or hurt your feelings, are they really worth it?
Besides, the satisfaction that one thinks they’ll get after having them text back is overrated.
    4. Don’t Take It Personally
    © iStock
Unless the message that you had sent was either offensive or inappropriate, being left on read shouldn’t be taken too seriously or personally.

It could be that the other person simply lost interest in the conversation or perhaps assumed that no reply was needed to your previous message.
Either way, it talks more about what they were or weren’t looking for in life and doesn’t have to bear anything on you. It happens to the best of us, and when it does, best to take it in stride and move on.

The Punjabi music industry thrives on glamour and their music videos and albums featuring luxury brands and runway-worthy style is a testimony to that.

The artists who belong to this industry are also meticulous about their fashion statement and are some of the most stylish celebs in the country. Case in point, Guru Randhawa.
    © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
The Punjabi singer who has dropped some record-breaking singles and albums has an impeccable style. He has single-handedly popularised some looks that are now synonymous to him.

Here are all the signature looks of the singer which prove that he takes his style as seriously as his music.
    © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
Here’s decoding Guru Randhawa’s style through some of his most popular and chic signature looks:

    1. Suit Up © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
A black suit is his ultimate go-to when he wants to look dapper.

He either goes all out and formal with a tuxedo or a suit with a bowtie (and sometimes, a necktie) or he styles his suit with a solid T-shirt and sneakers to keep it casual. There is no in-between.
    2. The Coolest Jackets © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
Guru Randhawa fancies statement jackets and has the coolest collection in his wardrobe.

A black leather jacket, denim jacket with cool patches or a neon puffer jacket is his way of adding some flair to his look. And, he pulls them off equally well. We approve.
    3. The Pompadour © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
Randhawa’s fans would know his signature hairstyle is one of the most stand-out things that he’s been loyal to for years now.

He sports a full volume pompadour with fade undercut on the sides. He tried to switch up his look a couple of times but always found himself coming back to this particular look.
This has come to be known as the ‘Guru Randhawa hairstyle’, which his fans flock to the salons to get even now.
    4. Man In Pink  © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
One scroll through his Instagram page and you can tell that the ‘Fashion’ singer isn’t afraid to experiment with colours or trends.

While blacks and blues dominate his wardrobe, light pink is also one of his favourite colours to wear. He is often seen in a pink suit and pink denim jacket. He definitely loves the colour.
    5. Summer Shirts © Instagram/Guru Randhawa
His latest obsession in fashion seems to be printed summer shirts which he often styles with a bunch of accessories like a silver chain necklace or a solid white tee under it.

He has rocked cool, breezy shirt styles with jungle prints and a sassy tiger print. This is a refreshing look from Guru Randhawa’s fashion statement and proof that the singer can pull off literally any look.

Men are fed this idea ever since they are kids that they need to be strong and be in control. This takes the form of toxic masculinity, if not handled well, and can lead to failed relationships, abusive nature and self-destruction.
However, it doesn’t mean that people who are toxic are doomed to be that way forever.
    © iStock
Sometimes, you would not even realise that you are a toxic partner until one day, someone either straight up tells you on your face or you notice that the reason why none of your relationships worked in the past, might be your controlling and abusive behaviour.

A formerly toxic man on Reddit shared his story and asked other men to pitch in with their experience and what really changed them.
    © iStock
He wrote, “I was one hell of a toxic boyfriend when I was a teenager into my 20's. That came with everything bad about it (controlling, possessive, jealous).” He said that seeing his partner hurt led him into self-awareness and tried to better himself.

“Share your stories men. We can have shame of who we were, but we can be proud of who we are trying to be”, he added.
Here are the most wholesome answers from the thread:
    1. Being Around Female Friends
“Having women friends that I grew to care for in a platonic way. Made my toxic views toward women melt away. I was very close to neckbeard territory when I was 19. So much cringe in my past.”
    © iStock
    2. Age & Maturity

“I used to be a really bitter person but eventually, I just grew up. I realized there was no point in holding on to my hatred and that I was the reason for my failings. After that I started taking more steps to improve my life and surprise, I'm a lot happier now.”
    3. Self-Realization & Not Watching Kabir Singh
“Self-introspection, realizing all women aren't carbon copies. Just because a few did you wrong does NOT mean they all will. I'd say the biggest thing to stay away from are any youtube videos, articles, etc. that demonize either gender because it is VERY easy to fall into that trap these days.”
    © T-Series
    4. Letting Go

“I realized that I was frustrated with an unchangeable situation. It weighed on me, and I started getting passive-aggressive, then toxic. One day I realized my two options, accept the situation and be genuinely okay with it, or leave. I left… best thing I ever did. I didn’t even realize I was toxic until I was fully healed and reflected on the past.”
    5. Constructive Criticism
“Constructive criticism works for me. A lot of toxic behaviour is a group thing, may not happen when you are alone, it may happen with your peers or while you are intoxicated or something or someone triggers it. It won't simply go away, you need to reflect and accept that is going to take a while like therapy.”
    6. Therapy
“One of the women I hurt and whom I deeply cared about told me to look for help.”
    © iStock
Kudos to these men for realising they were hurting their partners and took to a social media platform to share their pearls of wisdom for other men struggling with the same.

This thread proves that anyone and everyone is capable of change, if they are willing.

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s Shershaah is still being talked about, proving the fact that the movie has been received well by the audience. The story of Kargil hero Captain Vikram Batra has been perfectly portrayed by Sidharth Malhotra who has silenced his haters with his career-defining performance. The movie received rave reviews with most critics praising its realistic depiction of the Kargil War.

Kiara plays the role of Captain Batra's fiancee Dimple Cheema in the film. Apart from Siddharth and her, the Vishnuvardhan directorial also stars Shiv Pandit, Nikitin Dheer, and Pawan Kalyan among others in pivotal roles. As the movie has done well, the actors were paid handsomely, according to reports available online.
Here’s all we know about how much these actors earned:
    1. Sidharth Malhotra View this post on Instagram
In an interview with us, Siddharth spoke about how challenging it was to play Vikram Batra. He said, “When you are playing someone who has lived in flesh and blood, it’s more challenging than doing a fictional character as you can have your own versions but here, you are given boundaries and have to control your emotions. It’s far more challenging to prep for the character. Keeping all this in mind when I was shooting for the last leg of Vikram Batra’s life, it was extremely challenging and emotional to portray someone’s last words. I was very nervous for a good three or four weeks before I started shooting for the last leg. It was emotionally and mentally draining. I hope and pray that it’s portrayed in the right light.”
In a Bollywood Life report, Sidharth earned a whopping Rs 7 crore as remuneration for his role in the film.
    2. Kiara Advani View this post on Instagram
Kiara Advani is seen essaying the role of Vikram Batra’s fiancée Dimple Cheema. In an interview with Outlook, she spoke about how she prepared for the role of Dimple. She said, “I got to meet Dimple which helped me understand her emotional journey. I met her in Chandigarh before shooting the film. There was so much love in her eyes when she was narrating her story to me. I found her very inspiring and also, kudos to Vishnu Vardhan, the director of Shershaah, and the entire production team because the entire shoot was done in all real locations where the Kargil war and other parts of Captain Batra’s life took place.”
She reportedly took home a whopping Rs 4 crore as fees.
    3. Shiv Pandit View this post on Instagram
Shiv Pandit has already proved to us that he doesn’t need any godfather as his talent speaks for himself. He played the role of Lieutenant Sanjeev Jimmy Jamwal and it’s great to see him portraying the role. He charged a sum of Rs 45 lakh for the movie.
    4. Nikitin Dheer View this post on Instagram
Nikitin Dheer, who is known for his performances in movies like Jodhaa Akbar, Ready, Dabangg 2, Chennai Express, and others, was recently seen in Shershaah as Major Ajay Singh Jasrotia.
In an interview, the actor said, “Shershaah is a very special film for me, it’s the first time I am attempting to play a positive character. I am playing an Indian Army soldier in it and it’s a matter of great pride and honour for me to do something like this. It’s something off my checklist to be able to be a part of a film like this, to be able to wear the army uniform and be a part of a Dharma (Productions) film. We have a fantastic director in Vishnu Varadhan; he is like a poet on the screen. He has so much passion for what he does. I am really excited to watch the film and to see how people react to it.”
He got a remuneration of Rs 35 lakh.
    5. Pawan Chopra View this post on Instagram
Pawan Chopra portrayed the role of Captain Vikram Batra’s father, G.L. Batra in the movie. As per reports, he charged a sum of Rs 50 lakh.

The past few weeks have been difficult as the entire world’s attention shifted to the catastrophe unfolding in Afghanistan. From the United States’ complacent withdrawal to the Taliban’s ominous  takeover of Afghanistan, shockwaves have rippled across the globe.
Fearing oppressive repercussions at the hands of the totalitarian regime, the Afghan population has been left seeking sanctuary in places safer than the land they once called home. Thousands of Afghans wait in desperate attempts to be rescued by the United States evacuation program, after the American soldiers' failure to bring ‘stability’ to the region.
During their previous coup, the Taliban were notorious for cracking down on all forms of free speech. They were especially archaic and violent in their attitude towards women. Public punishments ranging from beheadings to lashings and thrashing were meted out to anyone who dared oppose them.
Just a few days back, Talibani rogues had reportedly thrashed an Afghan reporter and cameraman associated with Tolo News in Kabul and Jalalabad.
I was beaten by the Taliban in Kabul's New City while reporting. Cameras, technical equipment and my personal mobile phone have also been hijacked
Some people have spread the news of my death which is false. The The Taliban got out of an armored Land Cruiser and hit me at gunpoint

In a publicly surreal incident, a video that had gone viral on Twitter showed a terrified TV host, surrounded by armed Taliban militants. Confined by eight of these militants, the news anchor nervously attempts to assuage the people of Afghanistan to be ‘unafraid’ of the Islamic Emirate.
With armed Taliban fighters standing behind him, the presenter of Afghan TV's Peace Studio political debate programme says the Islamic Emirate (Taliban's preferred name) wants the public to "cooperate with it and should not be afraid".pic.twitter.com/rclw3P9E7M
    — Kian Sharifi (@KianSharifi) August 29, 2021
Speaking in Pashto, the TV host requested people to cooperate with the Taliban and the Islamic Emirate. The program is called ‘Pardaz’ , a popular TV show of the region.
The programme is called Pardaz. In this longer video, the presenter interviews a Taliban fighter who presumably outranks the rest of the lot in the studio. The presenter switches from Dari to Pashto, which unfortunately I don't speak.pic.twitter.com/qPWexsQd2T
    — Kian Sharifi (@KianSharifi) August 29, 2021
This incident comes fresh on the heels of the Taliban’s public commitment towards a free press. In fact, twenty-four-year-old Beheshta Arghand had bravely interviewed Mawlawi Abdulhaq Hemad, a member of the Taliban’s media team. She had confronted the aide about Kabul’s situation and house-to-house searches that had been reported to be going on in the city.
NIMA WORAZ: #Kabul Situation Discussed [Pashto]

In this program, host Beheshta Arghand interviews Mawlawi Abdulhaq Hemad, a close member of the Taliban’s media team, about Kabul’s situation and house-to-house searches in the city. https://t.co/P11zbvxGQC pic.twitter.com/Pk95F54xGr

However, we have a feeling that the sight of eight armed militants flanking the news anchor may not exactly inspire the confidence intended by the rogue organisation.
This video is another reminder of the horrendous realities being faced by those who have stayed behind.
Despite the Taliban’s attempts at whitewashing their violent history, the people of Afghanistan still live in constant fear.

Stuffcool recently launched a 100W multi-port fast charger that is capable of charging all of your devices at once. The Stuffcool Centurion is yet another innovative product by an Indian company that is meant for every tech enthusiast. If you’ve been working from home ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, this charger may just be the perfect gadget for you.
    © Stuffcool
The Stuffcool Centurion comes with four ports including 2 USB-C ports for PD charging. These ports can be used to fast charge MacBook devices, iPads, smartphones, a Nintendo Switch or any other device that supports the Power Delivery protocol. What’s neat is that you can fast charge two devices at once. You can even charge two laptops at the same time if you want, provided both laptops support PD charging. If you are wondering about each port's power output performance, here are the specifications:

Type-C1 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/3A,12V/3A,15V/3A,20V/5A(Max.100W)Type-C2 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/3A,12V/3A,15V/3A,20V/5A(Max.100W)USB-A1 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A (Max30W)USB-A2 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A (Max30W)In my testing, I could charge my MacBook Pro that needs about 61W of power and my iPad Pro at the same time. It’s worth pointing out that I was using Adobe Premiere Pro while testing so that the laptop drew the maximum amount of power from the charger. Both devices charged comfortably at the same rate as they would with their individual chargers. That’s because the charger can detect which device is connected and distribute optimum power automatically. It divides the 100W total output power amongst the two devices without causing a surge.
    © Stuffcool
In my two weeks of testing, the charger safely charged both PD devices without overheating either the device or the charger itself. When both USB-C ports are in use, it divides the power into 65W and 30W between the two ports. When only one USB-C port is being used, the charger delivers a full 100W power output.

    © Stuffcool
The two additional USB-A ports can also be used to fast-charge other devices as it has support for the following charging protocols: QuickCharge 3.0, VOOC 1.0, and Samsung AFC. Each port has a maximum power output of 30W. The USB-A ports are perfect for charging devices that don’t necessarily need fast charging. In my use case, I used it to charge my AirPods Pro, a power bank and my Apple Watch at the same time. You can use it to connect other devices as well such as a wireless charger or a phone that supports any of the fast charging protocols.

The fact that the Stuffcool 100W Centurion charger has four fast-charging ports to offer, makes it one of the most versatile chargers available in India right now. The charger also has four rubber base tips so that you can easily place it on your desk without worrying about it slipping or falling down.
    © Stuffcool
The Centurion charger’s design is such that it is meant to be used on desks at home or even at the office. With this charger, you no longer need to carry multiple wall chargers for all of your gadgets either. You just need the appropriate cables which make the Stuffcool Centurion a perfect travel gadget to own.

If you own multiple gadgets like me, here are the different combinations you can use and the specific power output combinations as well:
    C1+C2=65W+30WC1+A1=65W+30WC1+A2=65W+30WC2+A1=65W+30WC2+A2=65W+30WA1+A2=5V/3A(15W Max)C1+C2+A1=45W+30W+18WC1+C2+A2=45W+30W+18WC1+(A1+A2)=65W+(15W)C2+(A1+A2)=65W+(15W)C1+C2+(A1+A2)=45W+30W+(15W)(C1= USB C Port 1, C2= USB C Port 2, A1= USB A Port 1, A2= USB A Port 2)
The Final Say The Stuffcool 100W Centurion charger may just be the most versatile wall charger you can buy in India right now. Since Apple, Samsung and Google have already removed the charger from their smartphones’ boxes, the Stuffcool 100W Centurion could be the perfect replacement. For Rs 5,999, your charging needs for your laptop, smartphone, accessories and even gaming consoles are taken care of. It might sound like a big investment at first, but when you consider how it performs and the number of devices it supports, the Stuffcool 100W Centurion is a bargain.
