    After a long hiatus which felt like a decade had passed, Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is the first big budget Hindi movie which has been released in the cinema halls. The movie has garnered good reviews and is also making some good money at the box office. Since Bollywood has a  huge fan following across the globe , it is weird when a Hindi movie is ‘banned’ in a part of the world. Turns out, Bell Bottom has been banned in a few Gulf countries including Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia for tampering the facts.

    “The second half of Bell Bottom shows the hijackers taking the aircraft to Dubai from Lahore. As per the actual incident that took place in 1984, U.A.E Defence Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, had personally handled the situation and it was the U.A.E authorities who had nabbed the hijackers. In Bellbottom, Indian officials, including the character played by Akshay Kumar, are shown as heroes of the episode. They also keep the U.A.E Defence Minister in the dark about their operation. So there’s a strong possibility that the Censor Board in the Middle Eastern countries must have taken objection to it and hence banned it”, says a Bollywood Hungama report.  Some more recent reports cite that the UAE might not ban it and the screening would be allowed there.

    This espionage thriller is loosely based on true events following an undercover agent code- named Bellbottom who is on a mission to free hostages. The movie also stars Lara Dutta and Vaani Kapoor in important roles.

It is the biggest fashion platform for emerging designers, models, fashion photographers and influencers.

    We roped him in for a quick conversation about what the second edition of the fashion tour  will have in store for budding artists, along with some wedding trends to watch out for, tips to become a more sustainable shopper and more. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

    1. What are you looking forward to the most as a judge of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour ‘The Showcase’? What are your expectations from the young crop of designers? 

    Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has unveiled the second edition of The Showcase in collaboration with Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), with the objective of nurturing talent. I have had a long-standing association with Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, and The Showcase is an important step forward to nurture the fashion talent of the future. I am excited to come on board as a jury member. I look forward to meeting a lot of young and fresh talent from this country. I am expecting young designers to be themselves - original, innovative and of course, have an individual sense of style.
    2. Tell us about some of the biggest fashion trends for men we will see everywhere this year.
    Coming out of the comfort of their homes, thanks to the work from home regime, men’s fashion will see classics being paired with casuals. The focus towards dressing up in breathable and comfortable clothes will take the centerstage. For occasions and parties, people will mix casual and dress-up.  I do see a resurgence of sports couture. Athleisure, loose shirts, smart casuals and a rise in street style will be at the forefront this year.

    3. How has Blenders Pride Fashion Tour transformed the fashion scene in India?

    In the last 16 years, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has evolved from conventional runway shows to a festival celebrating fashion positivity, glamour and exuberant designs with cutting-edge technology. Each year, the tour puts forth intriguing concepts, thus bringing new experiences to consumers. I have had some fantastic showcases with them and the team always puts its best foot forward and efforts in making magical moments happen. The larger than life, yet meaningful experiences will help pave the way for more exploration, fashion, and style in the future.
    4. Shoppers are now becoming more mindful of what they buy. What are some tips for being more sustainable when it comes to fashion? 
    Sustainable fashion is the burning need of the hour. It is not just a fad. It is definitely not just a fashionable term. It is something that we consciously need to become aware of and make changes in our everyday life. We, as a brand, took a larger step last year to make our packaging sustainable. Our couture garments are packed into covers woven from yarn obtained by recycling ocean and landfill plastic. Recycling, upcycling and circularity are a large part of sustainability that need to be encouraged at a greater scale. Fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world and we need to come together to do our bit in ensuring that sustainability doesn’t come to naught.
    5. What are some of the top wedding trends for men to keep an eye out for?
    Especially with the end of lockdown, men will spring on to every opportunity to dress up and experiment with their outfits. A mix of sporty layers with sophisticated and classic colours could be the new norm- sneakers with kurta pyjamas, casuals with blingy tuxedos etc. People need to look out for innovation, playful silhouettes along with experimental drapes this wedding season.
    6. Some styling tips that a groom should keep in mind for a winter wedding.
    Velvets always look rich. So definitely a velvet suit in deeper, darker colors like midnight blue, bottle green, teal and of course black. They can experiment with colour palette and be conscious about the fabric quality.

    7. The pandemic has changed fashion to a great extent. How do you think menswear has evolved during the last year?

    The pandemic has made men see the demarcation of their wardrobes. They have realized the importance of comfort clothing along with the need to dress up. Their awareness towards fashion has grown which has led to confidence in their choice of clothing. They don’t shy away from drama anymore. I hope people become more individualistic in the way they dress after the pandemic.
    8. One actor in Bollywood who has the best style according to you.
    Ayushman Khurana! His style is quirky and he carries extremes nonchalantly.

    9. What are your thoughts on Indian fashion being globally represented?

    Gone are the days of Indian fashion being viewed in isolation. Indian fashion is making a mark on the global stage with the Indian design fraternity showcasing their craft at diverse international platforms. Transcending beyond red carpets and runways, Hollywood too has found its love for chic silhouettes and dramatic jewelry that represents the rich lineage of Indian fashion. Blenders Pride Fashion Tour ‘The Showcase’ powered by FDCI, will give a much-needed boost to this local talent on Indian as well as international platforms.
    10. What are some fashion must-haves for professional men in the post-pandemic era?
    The professional corporate culture could have an injection of some street style with the classic formals. Dressing up could be more fun with zealous and sporty elements. It could be cool to see accessories making way into their office wardrobe.

    Following Apple and Samsung ’s decision to exclude chargers from the retail box, Google has also joined the club. Google’s next phone i.e. the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will not include a USB-C charger in the box.

    In the past, Google’s Pixel smartphones have shipped with an 18W Power Delivery (PD) charger which is also becoming the standard charging protocol for most smartphones. However, the Verge reports that Google’s upcoming smartphones will not include a charger anymore, probably for the same reasons as Apple and Samsung. 

    However, what makes Google's decision odd is that the cheaper Pixel 5a, which was recently launched, will still come with a charger in the box. There’s a good chance that this will be the last smartphone by Google that will ship with one. 
    Apple made the controversial decision to remove the charger from the iPhone 12 Series’ box for environmental concerns related to e-waste. It will also result in Apple saving a lot of money both in terms of logistics and manufacturing.

    However, in the case of Pixel phones, the decision doesn’t seem too controversial for one reason. Pixel customers can still get a third-party 18W PD charger offered by several companies. Since the Pixel phones do not use a proprietary charging port, it is far easier for Pixel customers to get a third-party PD charger if they don’t already own one. 

    Now that we have three major companies removing the charger from smartphone retail units, it could be possible we might see other companies adopt the same strategy as well. Apart from environmental concerns, it’s a great way to cut costs and increase profits in an already competitive market. 
    While many users won’t be happy about paying the same price for a smartphone that doesn’t come with a charger, it’s likely going to be the norm soon. It’s best if people hold onto their chargers or invest in a third-party charger that can last multiple generations of smartphones. 
    Having said that, there is some good news though. The Pixel 6 is rumoured to now support 33W fast charging according to a report by 91Mobiles. This will be the first time a Pixel device is getting a charging speed upgrade which might be a good trade-off for the missing charger.

    The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is scheduled to be launched in October 2021 where both devices are powered by Google’s own Tensor chips. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Pixel 6 on the other hand will have a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate.

    Congress leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha’s Twitter account was briefly hacked without him knowing about it. The account has now been restored however while it was hacked, his account’s name was changed to Elon Musk and the profile picture was also changed to a picture of a rocket launch. 
    In this case, the hackers did not change the password or lock Sinha out from his profile as he was Tweeting about Shashi Tharoor while his account was hacked. It seems he was unaware that his name and profile picture had been changed.

    His account was also used to spread spam in reply to one of Musk’s recent tweets. The hacked account replied with a Tweet about distributing DOGECOIN  via an event. The tweet has been deleted however some his Sinha’s followers noticed the hack before it was restored.

    This is not the first time a Twitter account of a political leader has been hacked. In a similar case, Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) official Twitter account was also hacked where the account was also disguised as Elon Musk. Earlier this year, BJP leader Khushbu Sundar’s Twitter account was hacked.

    It’s also worth pointing out that last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handle “@narendramodi_in” was also hacked and asked its followers to donate Bitcoin to specific accounts.

    Salman Khan has a huge fan following and many of his old films are considered cult movies and perhaps no one can deny that.  

    He has given some blockbuster films to Bollywood. However, lately, even though his films make a lot of money at the box office, the audience has been largely disappointed as there is a lack of logic. 
    Content is king these days and still, we find many illogical films making money.

    But, no matter what, remember how every other guy rocked the Radhe haircut?
    However, here are 4 red flags we didn’t notice in Radhe (Salman Khan) from Tere Naam.

    Radhe Kept on stalking Nirjara around which made her feel uncomfortable yet he still kept on doing it. Also, he somehow wanted to show this as a romantic gesture.

    Radhe unnecessarily used to boss around his friends who were more like his ‘chelas’. He also used to indulge in fights that made no sense whatsoever. He was also showcased to be a total waste of time, who had no interest in studies.

    Sarim Akhtar, also known as the Angry Pakistani fan, who went viral on the memes for his frustrated expressions and disappointed posture during the 2019 World Cup match between Pakistan and Australia, has now been featured in an English vocabulary book.
    His picture from the match was used as a graphical representation of the word “glared” to describe phrases like “to stare angrily” and “reflect uncomfortably” in the book.
    At first, even Akhtar felt that the picture may be fake and had tweeted about it in a lighthearted manner to engage with his fans.

    “Waooo, got featured on an English vocabulary book,” he wrote from his official social media handle. 
    However, he later tweeted about how it was an actual book and that the publishers had used his image without taking permission from him. In addition, he also clarified that he has nothing to do with the book and was not endorsing it.

    We got to see Sarim’s meme a lot more in the recent past after the Pakistan cricket side was unable to win the first Test match against the West Indies squad at the Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica between 12-15 August.
    Despite Fawad Alam’s 56 in the first innings and skipper Babar Azam’s 55 in the second innings, the Windies batting order proved to be too strong to get defeated at home, and thanks to some magnificent batting display by Jason Holder and Jermaine Blackwood, they were able to topple the touring squad on Day 4 with a wicket to spare.

    If you are a FRIENDS fan and Joey was your favourite character, you might get offended reading this. However, you’d agree that the show would have been nothing without the relationships shown between Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, and Joey.
    Everybody has a favourite character from the show and many prefer Chandler over Joey and some might even relate with Ross, or think Joey is the best.
    Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani was a goofy, flirtatious character who was also sweet, understanding, and caring. However, there are many red flags that we completely missed but we shouldn’t have. 
    So, here we go-
    Commitment Phobic 
    Joey is extremely commitment phobic and never sticks to one girl. He endlessly goes on multiple dates but didn’t ever fall in love with anyone or didn't even give any girl a chance. 
    He is the perfect f**k boy that no girl would ever want to date. Also, he is just another nightmare dressed like a daydream.
    Extremely Dumb
    He is just another man-child who acts naïve in many situations. He is immature and isn’t the brightest bulb which led him to become a part of many childish and dumb moments in the show. 
    From the way he handled women to how he handled arguments, we could spot his dumbness many times but chose to ignore it.
    Didn’t Always Treat Women Well 
    He never treated women well. The only women he cared about were his sisters and friends. He would never call women back and ghost them completely. He also had a weird habit of not sharing food with anyone and once dumped a girl because she took some fries from his plate.
    Needy 
    Joey was an incredible friend but he was always very immature and needy. Remember how he wasn’t okay with Chandler moving out of the house and also wanted his own room in Chandler and Monica's place.

    Former Indian pacer and one of the most gifted fast bowlers to have played for this team, Zaheer Khan recently spoke about Jasprit Bumrah’s uncannily aggressive behaviour during the second Test match between India and England at London’s Lord’s cricket ground.
    “If by getting angry, he can carry himself and perform like this, I believe he should at times needle the opposition. See, in the first innings, he had gone wicketless and being the class bowler that he is, I’m sure it must have bothered him," Zaheer said on Cricbuzz.
