    The literal English translation of this movie title would read - I am crazy for love, and that is perhaps the easiest way to convey the essence of this movie - craziness. Bucket loads of it. And from every damn character. Even the dog. And the parrot.

    As a Hrithik Roshan fan, I’ve always felt the need to consume more of him through his films, his songs and his interviews. But little did I know that this particular film would give me so much of Hrithik and his OTT acting, that from making a cameo in my dreams, he’d start downright haunting me in my nightmares.

    In fact, it would be even apt to say that Hrithik and Kareena weren’t acting in the film, instead, acting was doing Hrithik and Kareena. Because clearly, the director wasn't looking for someone who could act, woh toh har koi kar leta hai. He was looking for something extra and that is what he got.

    The movie starts with someone creepily hissing Sanjana's name in the background as she appears for her final exam in college. How do we know that? Because throughout the movie you’d see obvious things being pointed out to you as though the target audience for this movie were toddlers.

    It is soon established that Sanjana (played by Kareena Kapoor) along with her friends is pro-feminism. But her mother is clearly not.

    Locking in a guy for her to get married to, her mother and sister set up an arranged meeting with ‘Prem’ from America.

    Turns out, Prem is a perfect match for Sanjana - just as excited, loud, childish and apparently without a life as Sanjana and her friends, whose way of screening a guy for marriage is by checking his feet for hair growth and playing stupid pranks on him like painting graffiti on his wall, serenading him with stuff-toys and tinkering with his chair.  

    Mind you, this is the doing of a girl fresh out of college, which might as well be code for pre-school at this point.

    The vibe of the movie that was already wayyyy overboard becomes overwhelmingly contagious at this point.  

    Hrithik and Kareena’s over-enthusiastic and high-pitched dialogue delivery throughout the movie puts you at the risk of going deaf, which after a point, you wish you would have.

    Meanwhile, the poorly constructed CGI parrot and animated dog are not the only unrealistic things in the movie anymore. Apparently, the place at which this movie has been shot is as surreal as Hrithik’s decibel when he shouts “AUNTYYYYY”, because never before did we ever encounter sea, alps, snow and waterfalls all together in a place like ‘Sunder Nagar’.

    Sanjana finally falls for Prem after he saves her father from an accident that could also be prevented by simply applying brakes. Love starts brewing between the two and suddenly, the PG-13 movie turns R-rated because after this point, every hug seems like it is inducing orgasm in Sanjana.

    And none of this is a problem to an otherwise conservative mother - Susheela, as long as Sanjana is marrying someone super-rich and of her choice. Hello, patriarchy.

    And just when the two start having a little too much fun, Abhishek Bachchan enters as a party crasher only to rain on their parade. And with him, comes a plot twist because apparently, he is the ‘Prem’ Sanjana should’ve been romancing with. Whaaaaa???

    Having been cosying up with the wrong Prem all along, thanks to her dad who randomly picked Hrithik Roshan up from the airport, Prem Kishen (Hrithik) turns out to be an employee of Prem Kumar (Abhishek Bachchan) working for Prem Group Of Companies. You see why anyone would be confused?

    Prem Kumar who has seen Sanjana for all of two minutes by this point has already fallen head over heels in love with her, despite her CLEARLY not being interested and in love with someone else. 

    Sanjana’s choice in the matter, at this point, is as unnecessary as Abhishek Bachchan’s presence in the movie.

    Susheela aka AUNTYYY is hell-bent on forcing her daughter to now fall in love with the new Prem because well, money. And when Sanjana resists, her mother Susheela gives birth to one of the most iconic dialogues in Hindi cinema - ‘Problem kya hai?’. 
    This only after confirming whether or not Sanjana has slept with Prem Kishen, because at the end of the day, in Indian society, what matters is a girl being a virgin. Such feminism, much wow.

    The marriage is fixed, Prem Kumar is ecstatic but his expression is as unnoticeable as Sanjana’s agency in the entire movie. Prem Kumar, who earlier couldn’t stop beating our eardrums with his loud voice, suddenly quietens down and offers Sanjana as a gift to his boss. Because employee of the year award > love of his life.

    Towards the climax of the film, Sanjana finally reveals her love for Prem Kishen by ripping off his shirt-sleeve and showing his tattooed arm to everyone. Prem Kumar who is, obviously, embarrassed and done with the crap, calls off the wedding, only to unite Sanjana and Prem Kishen together. 

    The super pissed mother and sister who now have no option than to comply because the cat is out of the bag, go along with the decision and welcome Prem Kishen as their son-in-law.

    Neeraj Chopra is the man of the moment, and rightfully so for ending a 100 year old gold drought for India when it comes to athletics in the Olympics. The extent to which the entire country is obsessed with the lad, can be gauged by his social media following in the past one week. From 200K-ish on the day he won gold for India, it took him less than a day to garner 2 million followers. Currently it stands at 3.4 million.

    While most people must be thinking fame hit the 23-YO overnight, and he must be overwhelmed with all the attention because it's sudden, that isn't exactly the case.

    Even though most Indians got to know about Neeraj post his qualification and achievement at the Olympics, looks like fame is something that the young man had long been acquainted with, and that too from 'influential people who matter'.

    5 years ago, when Neeraj broke the javelin world record at the IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championship at the tender age of 18, he'd already tasted fame shortly afterwards. Neeraj revealed that he received the first call from PM Mr Modi. Then, several other 'super famous' people messaged him, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Olympic winner Rajyavardhan Rathore, cricketers VVS Laxman and Shikhar Dhawan, and film stars Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif.

    It was less than a week ago that every Indian on this planet was left feeling emotional and proud after Neeraj Chopra scored a gold at the Tokyo Olympics for his javelin throw. Since then, he is all that we are crazy about and it seems like everything and anything is about him these days. Cashing in on this fame, a person named Maurya Mondal has scripted a biopic on the Olympic champion with Akshay Kumar as the lead role and the female lead is Kiara Advani.
    The script sounds so realistic as per Bollywood’s history with biopics that we fear it is quite possible that it might catch Akshay’s eye!

    The story begins with a young boy throwing a ball which catches the eye of an athletic coach. He convinces his father to let him join the academy. The kid grows up to become Akshay, who is an Army man and has a national level javelin thrower. The story advances towards the romantic angle which begins when he saves Kiara from a couple of goons outside the cantonment area. The next day their eyes meet at an event, where it is revealed that she is the daughter of a senior officer. He fights a war and is left badly injured to a point that doctors claim he probably cannot play again. However, prayers work and he qualifies for the Olympics. The movie script also has a Badshaah song in the end credits. Seems like all the ingredients in the recipe are as per measure and have left people in splits.

    Neeraj Chopra has deservedly been in the news for his maiden gold at the Olympics, his feat is undeniably impressive and a historic moment in our country’s sporting history. 
    However, before him there was a certain athlete who earned not one, but two gold medals for India in the same sport at an equivalent level.

    Back in 2004 at Athens, an Indian javelin thrower won his first gold medal. He repeated this incredible feat in 2016 at Rio as well. All with a single arm, as he had lost the other in a freak accident in his younger years. 
    In fact, that’s the reason why he picked up the sport in the first place. His accolades make him the first and only Indian to ever win gold at any Olympics or Paralympics games.
    Now it's time to show the love and support to #Paralympics like we have shown to #Olympics.

    Meet Devendra Jhajharia, the human embodiment of resilience and will.  
    The Paralympian from Rajasthan also holds a world record in javelin throw, amassing an impressive distance of 62.15m.  
    He’s also the first para-athlete to receive the Padma Shri, and in 2004, he earned the Arjuna Award as well.

    A Twist Of FateBorn in Rajasthan’s Churu district, Jhajharia’s story is one of indomitable spirit. 
    He was always into sports and playing games, however, things changed for him after he turned 8. He recalls the life-altering incident in an interview with The Hindu, “I was climbing a tree in my village and accidentally touched a live cable, which was apparently an 11,000-volt cable. So severe was the accident that (my left hand) had to be amputated right away — nobody was sure whether I would be able to recover from it.”

    Devendra knew life wouldn’t be the same for him without his lost arm, but his tenacity still remained. 

    Unfettered by the wayward rebukes, sympathetic jests and ridicule that came his way, he moved forward, for he was hell-bent on leaving his mark in the world. 
    True CallingHe discovered the wonderful world of javelin at his school grounds. He dedicatedly observed athletes trying to fling the lance the farthest they could, and he soon realized his calling. 
    He had found a sport that could be played with a single arm.  
    It wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies for him, but he had the support of his parents, as the two-time gold medalist clarifies to The Hindu, “You can try and imagine how a parent would feel when someone says stuff like that about their own child. But my parents never let me feel the heat… I was striving to not make myself appear weak to the world. And the only way to achieve it was to succeed, to be a champion. To be a champion, you had to be a sportsman, so I started focusing more on the sport. In my 10th standard, I started practising every day and soon became district champion in the Open category. I kept on winning medals in inter-college, district, and State events.”  
    Leslie Claudius and Udham Singh are the only 2 Indian athletes to have won an Olympic medal spread over 12 years. They both won it in a team sport though (Hockey)

    India’s tour of Sri Lanka was marred by several controversies but that didn’t have any impact on the revenue that the Sri Lankan Cricket Board was able to generate from the limited-overs series, compromising the three One-day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
    Before the series, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials had hoped that by hosting India, they would earn around Rs 89.7 crore but the series has exceeded all their expectations and filled their coffers beyond their imagination.

    As per SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva, their board earned $ 14.5 million (Rs 107 crore) from the series that ended last month just by selling TV rights and ground rights. These figures are astonishing especially because they don't include the ticket revenue as all the matches were played behind closed doors.

    “According to the FTP (Future Tours Program) the tour was only for 3 ODIs, but our President Shammi Silva managed to persuade the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to give us an additional 3 T20Is which resulted in the enhancement of the commercial value. It was made possible because of the relationship we have cultivated with the Indian Cricket Board. We got $ 14.5 million from broadcasting and other rights like ground, etc.,” SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva was quoted as saying by Daily FT.

    Conducting the series in such trying times wasn’t easy at all. The matches were postponed not once but twice but the BCCI remained committed to completing the series.

    The first postponement came even before the series could begin when the Sri Lankan camp reported a few positive cases of coronavirus which led to their whole squad spending a few extra days in isolation.
    The second halt came after the first T20I when Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for coronavirus and eight other first-team members were sent into isolation. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side had only 11 players available for selection and they didn't complain even once.

    India were left with no choice but to field as many as six debutants in one match and the easier way out would have been to cancel the series and head back home but they followed the tough route. 

    Playing with a depleted squad, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side lost the T20I series but managed to set a perfect precedent for other international teams to follow.

    “Even the Indian High Commissioner was concerned and the BCCI. In this context, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude on behalf of SLC to the management of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid and the others, and the BCCI who monitored the situation. They wanted certain guidance given by us and the assurances, which we did by moving the patient to another hotel and so on, and we continued with the tour,” said de Silva, thanking BCCI and the entire Indian management for continuing with the series despite all the challenges.

    Some of the best life lessons and virtues are not found in the lead characters but the characters which are beautifully written and carefully embedded to simply hype up the narrative of a movie. However, there are some under hyped characters in movies which deserve more praise than they receive. Here are 5 such characters we feel who need all the love:

    1. Sid from Dil Chahta HaiDil Chahta Hai  basically portrayed that the universe of scripts based on friendships has a lot of life lessons to impart. While so many people talk about Sameer and Akash as characters, you cannot ignore how important Sid was to this narrative. He is the mature one, the one who sees life from a different angle. He is the counsellor of the group, the representative of how one defines a ‘home team’. While I loved Sameer’s character back in school days, as I grow old, I aspire to become a friend like Sid is to his friends.

    2. Aditya Kashyap from Jab We MetHis character’s journey from the beginning till the end is very interesting. While everyone talks about how this movie is about Geet and her life decisions, it is actually Aditya who honestly grows more as a person. His maturity and resilience reflects at various points in the movie. For example, when they are travelling back home and he arranges her meeting with Anshuman, she asks him if he likes her a lot. He smiles and says “haan, but wo mera problem hai”. He is aware that he has fallen in love with her but he has no intention of chasing her or convincing her to choose him.

    3. Ayesha from Wake Up SidSome would argue that she is basically nursing and helping a man child grow and realise his calling in life, but Ayesha is actually an anchor for Sid. She is everything he lacks in life, she brings things like ambition, maturity, understanding and self-love in his life. An extremely relatable character, Ayesha deserves more praise than she already gets.

    4. Amarjeet Kapoor from Kapoor & SonsRishi Kapoor’s character is the catalyst who brings the wheel of family life in motion. He gets them all together, he is the reason the family is forced to confront their issues and resolve them. His character is extremely likeable for how real and practical he is. He is aware that age is catching up, he wants to live on his own terms and he values family love over anything else in his life. It is a wonderfully written character.

    5. Kabir from Dil Dhadakne DoRanveer’s portrayal of a rich brat lost in translation over what and where his life is going is real and raw. He refuses to sign up for fake shenanigans that his parents indulge in, is unable to manage the unrealistic expectations set for him and is trying to find his own way in life. The character’s impulsiveness is actually very under hyped. It is his basic instinct to act impulsively and make impromptu decisions, be it standing up for his sister, or jumping from the ship to get the love of his life, Kabir somewhere, unknowingly manages to stitch the family back together. He is actually the ‘dil’ which ensures the heart of their bond doesn’t stop ‘dhadakna’.

    Bigg Boss OTT has finally begun and so have the fights of the most controversial reality show in India.
    Every season, housemates are seen getting into feuds that range from basic mind games to downright feral, and the latest season of the show has picked up speed within no time. 
    With director Karan Johar as the host of the OTT version, the contestants include popular names like Shamita Shetty, Neha Bhasin, Zeeshan Khan, Pratik Sehajpal, Akshara Singh, Milind Gaba, Nishant Bhat and Urfi Javed inside the house. 
    Avid fans of the show already know that most of the fights among the housemates happen due to kitchen supplies, which are something of a precious commodity. And now, the same has turned into a big matter for Akshara and Shamita.
