Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's love story was not an ordinary one.
The two met on the sets of a shampoo commercial, and that's how their tale started to flourish. They, eventually, became the 'It' couple of India, and no matter how much they tried to keep their relationship under wraps, their love for each other spoke volumes in their pictures.

In 2014 though, Anushka made a statement saying, “they are not hiding anything and that they are just two normal people in a relationship”. And so, they finally made their first appearance in November 2014.

The couple was then seen celebrating several occasions together. While Anushka would travel with Virat for cricket tours, Virat, on the other hand, would surprise her on the sets of her movies.

The couple got married in 2017 in a fairytale wedding. It was so surreal that the pictures and videos do rounds on the internet even now.

Anushka and Virat announced that they would be parents to their first child in 2020. They now have a beautiful daughter named Vamika, who arrived in January 2021.

Recently, Virat opened up about his first-ever meeting with the actress and what clicked between them.

He spoke to Dinesh Karthik before India's Test series in England in a candid video and said, “I joke around with everyone. I was joking around with her as well. She said, ‘it was the first time I saw someone around me joking about the things I have experienced as a child.’ So, that really connected.”

The skipper was nervous around her during the commercial shoot and ended up cracking a joke that did not go too well.

In one of the earlier interviews, he said he looked like a fool as the gag was awkward. However, once they started connecting, they enjoyed each other's company.
What a week it has been!

He said, "She is tall as well, and she was told that I am not 6 feet or plus and ‘you must not wear massive heels or anything.’ Anushka walked in and was looking taller than me. I said, ‘Didn’t you get a higher pair of heels than these?’ She was like, ‘Excuse me?’, I said, ‘I am just joking!”

But first impressions aren't everything, and we are so glad the couple got another chance or else 'Virushka' would've never existed.

Virat also spoke about how he wished his father was alive to meet Vamika.

When asked the same during the candid conversation, Virat said, “He hasn’t seen me play. Now with our daughter, I have seen the happiness on my mother’s face. You sit down and think, what if he was still here.”

Currently, the couple and their daughter are in England and often share pictures of fun times with the team and the family.

An Indian Judge has urged Prime Minister Modi to ban games like BGMI, PUBG and Free Fire in India. The three games are known to have predatory in-game microtransactions that target young gamers for spending money on cosmetics and battle passes.
    © Reuters
Last week, a 13-year-old boy died by suicide after losing Rs 40,000 in Free Fire as indicated in his suicide note. The class 6 student apologised to his parents for spending the money from his mother’s account in the game.

A Nepalese legislative assembly member also urged the government to ban Garena Free Fire and PUBG Mobile in Nepal. Now, ADJ Naresh Kumar Laka has written a letter to the Prime Minister asking to ban online games like Battlegrounds Mobile India and Free Fire in the country.
    © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla
“The population of the country applauded your decision in banning the infamous game PUBG Mobile, which has had a disastrous negative impact on children’s development. But, like the earlier PUBG, two comparable apps, Free Fire (Garena Free Fire – Rampage) and PUBG India (Battlegrounds Mobile India), are now having a negative impact on children” Laka said in the letter.

    © onur-binay-cQ90QkreiPQ-unsplash
While the judge wasn’t specific about the game’s “negative impact” on children, it’s apparent that some cases have come to light in the recent past for egregious practices. ADJ Laka also paired the Prime Minister for taking steps to ban PUBG Mobile last year. However, it was banned on the grounds of national security rather than for the virtual gambling and/or pay-to-win mechanics the game implements.

ADJ Laka also mentioned laws in China that protect children from predatory games that have pay-to-win mechanics. In China, there are rules that govern every game release in the country where it limits children’s (under the age of 18) access to video games to 90 minutes per day and only until 10 PM. Children can get an extension to 180 minutes during holidays. ADJ Laka says that India must take similar steps to ensure that its youngsters are not misled. He also added that these steps might be necessary for the children’s ‘rightful growth'.

Lovlina Borgohain, in her first-ever Olympic Games, did what many other athletes couldn’t do return home with a medal from Tokyo Olympics.
She bowed out of the semifinals bout losing 0-5 to Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli -- the top-seeded boxer in the women's welterweight category, but ensured she would return home with a bronze medal.

The 23-year-old boxer from Assam had already secured a medal for the country after reaching the semifinals but was fighting to change the colour of her medal but her progress was halted by the reigning world champion who dominated the bout right from the beginning and reached the final, emerging victorious via unanimous decision.

Despite losing the bout, Lovlina made the entire country proud with her tenacity and determination, something which even Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in awe of.
Despite coping with several lusty blows, she stood her ground and finished all three rounds, earning the respect of billions of Indian supporters.
Her accomplishment was also important because she became only the third Indian boxer after Vijender Singh and MC Mary Kom to win an Olympic medal. Vijender and Mary Kom finished on the podium in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games, respectively.

Wishes poured in from all quarters as Lovlina became the first boxer from her state to win an Olympic medal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and many other dignitaries congratulated the pugilist on her incredible achievement in her maiden Olympic Games.
“Well fought @LovlinaBorgohai! Her success in the boxing ring inspires several Indians. Her tenacity and determination are admirable. Congratulations to her on winning the Bronze. Best wishes for her future endeavours. #Tokyo2020,” PM Modi wrote on the micro-blogging site.

    — Viren Rasquinha (@virenrasquinha) August 4, 2021 Lovlina’s fight started long back when she decided to make boxing her life.
Coming from a remote village in Assam’s Golaghat district, which still lacks some of the basic infrastructure facilities like drinking water, roads and hospitals, thing were not easy for Lovlina but she never gave up and continued her fight.
    © Reuters
Not just that, she also had to challenge the age-old patriarchy as the villagers used to pity her parents because they had three daughters and no sons.

Her medal should be a lesson for all those who tried to pull her down on the basis of her gender. More importantly, her medal would serve as an inspiration for many young girls like her and give them the power to keep on chasing their dreams.
As far as Lovlina’s career is concerned, this is just the beginning for her. She is only expected to get better and better and we are confident that she’ll bring many more laurels to the country.

Whenever we go out to see a Hollywood movie in the theatres, we come back with the feeling of wonder as to how the acting, the attention to detail like costumes, background as well as CGI effects are so spot on.

    © Plan B Entertainment
    © Marvel Studios
This is clearly something that Bollywood has been trying to get better at, but has continued to falter behind their Western counterparts.

Now, that is in no way stating that the acting in Indian films isn't brilliant. It's really not.
It's just that the phrase "The Devil is in the details", is really not taken that seriously in many of our Indian films. However, it certainly looks like things are finally changing, as displayed by the trailer of Akshay Kumar-starred Bell Bottom.
The trailer revealed Bollywood actress Lara Dutta's first look as Indira Gandhi in the film. And guess what? It blew everyone's minds away!

Remember the ‘break up’ meme that went viral in 2015? Well, that image has now been sold as an NFT for $51,530 or over Rs 38 Lakh. In 2015, the Pakistani man’s breakup announcement on social media took the world by storm because it was about his best friend and how he became selfish and proud.

The popular meme was auctioned off as an NFT and sold on Friendship Day. Muhammad Asif Raza Rana, a Gujranwala man posted the photoshopped image titled ‘Friendship ended with Mudasir’ which got global headlines and became immortalised as an all-time favourite meme.

In the post, Rana explained that he had found a new best friend in Salman Ahmad Naqash and informed the public about the change in his life via the image. The image has now sold for 20 ethereal by Alter which conducted the sale on the digital art marketplace earlier this week. It is the world’s largest platform for NFT listings.

After the meme was sold on the platform, a major portion of the earnings will go to Rana and his friends. While some of the earrings will go to Alter for hosting the auction. After seeing success for this image on the platform, Rana plans to create similar memes and put them up for auction in the near future.

“I would never have known that [the post] would go so viral and that it would spread all over the world. So many news agencies interviewed us. We’ve even had a cartoon made about us,” Rana told Vice. “The people of Poland love it so much. I received Polish visa offers from two or three people. They even wrote my name on the walls there,”  he added.

“Simply put, this was just the beginning of the ‘Friendship Ended’ saga. Inadvertently Raza generated one of the biggest friendship circles we have ever seen,” Foundation described the viral post on its website. “Raza’s post gathered upwards of 47,000 reactions, 56,000 shares and 27,000 comments on Facebook,” Vice added explaining its popularity.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the director of Rang De Basanti, recently released his autobiography, The Stranger In The Mirror, which has several confessions by the director.

Very recently, even R Madhavan spoke about his kiss with Soha Ali Khan in Rang De Basanti, which is also part of the book. The actor was downright terrified, thinking about Soha's brother, Saif Ali Khan, as they were once rivals in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
Apart from that, we recently also got to know that even Daniel Craig had auditioned for the film.
    © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures
For the role of Karan Singhania, Rakeysh mentioned that Aamir Khan personally approached Hrithik Roshan and tried to convince him.

    © Instagram/Hrithik Roshan
The director spoke in detail about the challenges he went through while making Rang De Basanti, a cult classic and definitely one of the finest works of Rakeysh Omprakash.

But when it came to looking for someone suitable for the role of Karan Singhania, Rakeysh found himself in a soup when several actors turned down the job.
He said in his book that actors including Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan were asked to essay the role.
He wrote, "Every known actor kept declining the role to play Karan Singhania. I had first offered it to Farhan Akhtar. This was a time when he had never acted in a film before and was one of the most respected young directors. He was both surprised and amused. When I narrated it to Abhishek, he told me point-blank, 'I thought you are crazy but after hearing your narration I think you are completely nuts,"
    © Instagram/Aamir Khan
He further mentioned, "I requested Aamir to put in a word with Hrithik Roshan. Aamir even went to Hrithik's house. 'It's a good film—kar le' (do it). But it wasn't meant to be. Finally, Siddharth signed on the dotted line in January 2005, one month before the shoot. He had never done a Hindi film before. Bharathi had seen the Tamil film Boys, starring Siddharth, a couple of months before the shoot, and his energy and unique combination of innocence and naivety came through."

    © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures
He also said Karan's character blended well with Siddharth. Luckily, the senior actors agreed to do the smaller parts, including Kirron Kher, Mohan Agashe, Om Puri, Anupam Kher, K.K Raina etc. These actors knew their craft well and became a dependable unit, and that's how the movie was made.

    © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures
Interestingly, Rakeysh Omprakash wanted SRK to play the role of Flt Lt Ajay Rathod, the martyred pilot.

He wanted him to be a part of the movie so badly that he flew to the US to convince him when SRK was shooting for Swades. But it didn't work out due to SRK's packed schedule. So, the role, eventually, went to R Madhavan.

The much-awaited trailer of Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta’s thriller Dial 100 dropped a few days ago.
The trailer was praised by the audience and managed to glue them to the screen throughout its duration.
In the film, the main protagonist is shown to be time, as it is a race between Neena Gupta  and Manoj Bajpayee.
Manoj Bajpayee is seen playing the role of a cop named Nikhil Sood and Neena Gupta is seen playing the role of Seema Pallav, who is a grieving mother and seeking revenge for her son’s death.

The plot of the film revolves around how Manoj Bajpayee gets a weird call in the police control room.
Recently, in an interview, Manoj Bajpayee said that he would always get calls on odd hours.
Talking to a leading media outlet, Manoj Bajpayee said, “Oh, many times! In my earlier days, I used to pick up every call and they used to call at odd hours like 12.30-1.30 am. Sometimes people used to bully me, sometimes they would have fun at my cost, sometimes they used to threaten me because they were drunk and were just having fun. Those were the early days."

“But after that, now I do not pick up any call after 7:30 pm. I am talking to you this late evening because this is the job that I have to do. Otherwise, after 7-7.30pm, I put my phone on silent and put it away,” he added.
Manoj Bajpayee also won the third National Award of his career earlier this year for his film Bhonsle.

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone. Period! Whether you are rich or poor, young or old, you can find yourself in a situation wherein you are in a relationship with someone who’s physically abusive and you do not find that courage to call such monsters out in public because of many societal pressures that keep playing in your head.
There have been multiple instances wherein the names of famous personalities from TV as well as Bollywood have been connected in cases of domestic violence, molestation, and much more. Today, we are talking about the five men from Bollywood who have been accused of domestic violence and how their partners finally gathered the courage to speak against them.
    1. Yo Yo Honey Singh © TOI
Yo Yo Honey Singh found himself in major trouble when his wife Shalini Tiwari filed a case of domestic violence against the singer. She reportedly filed the case under the 'Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act' in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court.

She stated in her plea that Singh “showed no shame in attacking, browbeating, manhandling, cheating and causing irreparable harm to the woman he was supposed to cherish and protect. The Applicant, on the other hand, brought back (Singh) from the abyss into the light.”
She has also asked a compensation of Rs 20 crore from the singer. She has asked the court to make sure that the singer returns all the dowry articles.
    2. Salman Khan © TOI
The infamous relationship of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai dominated all the gossip columns of all leading papers back then. Well, there were reports that Salman physically abused Aishwarya, and hence, the two called off their relationship. It was in 2002, Aishwarya confirmed their breakup and in an interview, she said, “He would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected that I was having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks and I would go to work as if nothing happened.”

But Salman denied all the allegations and said in an interview months after Aishwarya shared her agony, “I have never beaten her. I get emotional and hurt myself. I have banged my head against the wall but I cannot hurt anyone else."
Salman and Aishwarya have never interacted with each other post their breakup.
    3. Sanjay Khan © TOI
Back in the day, Zeenat Aman was one of the actresses that every man wanted to date and she was the dream girl for many who were smitten by her style and beauty. Well, actor Sanjay Khan, who was married with three children, fell in love with Zeenat Aman on the sets of their film Abdullah.

A story in Cine Blitz dating back to 1980 gave shocking details about how Sanjay Khan thrashed Zeenat Aman while his wife cheered him on. They had married each other in 1978 and many had warned Zeenat not to get involved with him but she was blinded by love.
In 1980, she was beaten black and blue by Sanjay Khan and onlookers didn’t do anything to help her. It was the steward of the Taj Hotel who helped her, but by that time, she was hurt badly and was inconsolable.
Her doctor revealed to the publication, "This is not the first time this man has beaten her. Once before she was given a black eye and kicked in the ribs so hard that I insisted on an X-Ray for fear of a crack."
Zeenat did not file a police complaint back then but years later, she opened about the incident in an interview with Simi Gerawal. She had said, “If you are referring to a chapter in the past, it was very brief. Right now in my mind, for many years in my mind, it's been obliterated because that's what the human mind does. When there is something distinctly unpleasant, you just close your mind to it and pretend that it never happened and you promise yourself that it will never happen again. And that's how you cope.”
    4. Aditya Pancholi © TOI
Aditya Pancholi and Kangana Ranaut were in a scandalous relationship. Kangana had said in many interviews that she was physically abused by an ex. She had said at a press conference, "It was a very difficult and very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go into details. I felt trapped. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches. But when you are going you fall for it. This man who was my father’s age hit me hard on my head when I was 17. I started bleeding. I took out my sandal and hit his head hard and he started to bleed too. I had lodged an FIR against the man."

Well, Aditya did deny all these allegations by Kangana.
Not just this, there were reports that Aditya used to beat his wife too. In one of the interviews, he had said, “Zarina has been my support and strength. In spite of all the pain that I've caused her, she says she wants to be my wife for seven more lives.” Well, we wonder why though!
    5. Ranvir Shorey © TOI
Ranvir Shorey and Pooja Bhatt were in the news for their affair. Both were in a live-in relationship for a long time but this relationship did not go ahead. Pooja shared her ordeal that she was fed up with his drug addiction and he also used to beat her.

Ranvir had a different narrative to tell and in an interview, he had said, “Just like every other regular couple, we had our fair share of quarrels. Today, however (pauses and begins to look at the ceiling). I used to hang out with her and drink. She used to complain that I drank too much and didn't look after her well enough. I used to volunteer to leave the scene on such occasions. That used to irritate her, and she'd lash out at me. There will be a brawl. To be clear, I don't get aggressive until I've had a few drinks. She can be abusive even though she isn't drinking. I must have told her at least 30 times that a relationship can't succeed if she acts like this.”
Not just these names, Om Puri was also accused of domestic violence by his wife.
This is a societal evil we need to address a bit more. Even men have been victims of physical abuse. Regardless of gender, physical abuse shouldn’t be tolerated and must be called out.

The much-anticipated five-Test series between India and England is set to begin on Wednesday at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

The last time when India toured England, the results didn’t go their way as they lost the Test series 1-4 but Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the stand-out performer amassing 593 runs.
Given the way he dominated the England bowlers last time around, it is only natural that everyone expects him to repeat or even improve on the performance from 2018, if possible.
    © Reuters
Kohli is arguably the best batsman of the current generation and has scored tons of runs all over the world but his first tour to England was nothing short of a nightmare as he struggled against England’s quality fast-bowling, especially James Anderson, who got him out multiple times in the series.

That series perhaps was the lowest point in Kohli’s career as all he could manage was 139 runs at a dismal average of  13.40.
As they say, form is temporary but class is permanent, and Kohli proved why he is regarded as a modern-day great on his next tour to England four years later. Overcoming the demons of 2014, Kohli annihilated the English bowlers and dominated them throughout the series and finished as the top-run getter.
    © Reuters
Unfortunately, despite Kohli leading from the front none of the other players could lend the supporting hand and the visitors ended suffering yet another series loss on the English shore.

A lot has changed since 2018 and India are considered a force to reckon with not just on their home soil but also away from home, in hostile conditions. Many experts believe this is India’s brightest chance to beat England on their turf and for that Kohli needs to be on top of his game just the way he was three years ago.

Ahead of the series opener, Kohli was asked about his rivalry with Anderson and what would be his game plan to tackle him in this series.

Virat Kohli is taking a simple approach in his battle with Jimmy Anderson this summer #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/8yJCdhSCbV
    — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) August 3, 2021
“You have had a rather long history with Anderson in terms of the way he has gotten you out… how do you intend on tackling him?” Kohli was asked by a journalist during the virtual pre-match conference, on the eve of the first Test.

“I’ll just bat,” was Kohli’s response.
The way the Indian talisman cold-shouldered the question and his facial expression was enough to suggest two things; perhaps he didn’t like the question or he just didn’t want to reveal his game plan.
Sounds fair. He obviously has thought about how to bat against Anderson, and all the other bowlers, can’t see why he would want to tell anyone what his plans are beforehand.
    — Stephen Crook (@BarmiesNiagara) August 3, 2021So you guys expect he will disclose his tactics in front of media ??
    — Somnath Routray (@nath_tweets) August 3, 2021Kohli was pissed off by journalists’ questions not once but twice during the virtual press conference.
The second instance happened when a journalist asked him if he would do 'anything new' to succeed in this tour to which he replied: “No”.
India has not won a Test series in England since 2007 and Kohli knows it’s their best chance to get his name in the history books as not many Indian skippers have been able to beat England on their own soil.
