The Raj Kundra case involving his arrest in making pornographic films for paid apps has just got murkier with fresh details erupting by the minute. While he is in custody till the 23rd of July, social media is currently abuzz with actresses Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey coming forward and blaming him to be the reason why they ended up in the adult film business in the first place. The two names were linked in the complaint filed against Kundra and now more details have emerged.
View this post on Instagram
Sherlyn’s statement recorded in this case is going viral. Reportedly, Sherlyn was paid Rs 30 lakh for each project she did with his media company and so far, she had done about 15 to 20 projects for Raj.
According to another report, Poonam Pandey had filed a complaint against his company back in 2019. Her app was a client of Raj Kundra's firm Armsprime Media and she saw some disparity in the revenue. It was also claimed that even though the contract ended between them, Poonam Pandey stated that Raj Kundra’s firm was using her movies and footage discreetly without authority.
She also filed a complaint stating the firm was illegally using content featuring her after the termination of her contract. The same company also developed apps for actresses Gehna Vashishta and Sherlyn Chopra.

However, earlier this year Raj Kundra had claimed to have sold his shares of the company and had even submitted the documents of his investments and exit formalities to the legal authorities. Whatever the case maybe, it surely is getting murkier by the day!

In the mid 2000s came a TV show that tried to build on the success of FRIENDS. With a similar premise, few individuals hung out while going about their seemingly interesting daily lives. Needless to say, How I Met Your Mother had become a dependable source of humour and drama at that time.
In hindsight, there were a lot of things that the show got wrong, from its series finale to overused and offensive tropes like fat shaming and casual sexism. This show certainly aged poorly. But none have aged as badly as the character of Barney Stinson.
via GIPHY
For a brief moment in the early 2010s, Barney Stinson had become the social stencil for all men. With us looking at him and his misadventures in awe and inspiration. Now that I look back, a lot of things that we were fed as being just jokes and gags actually were extremely problematic. It’s not easy to say this but I had a lot of unlearning to do after having enjoyed this character for a long, long time.
Here are five lessons from Barney Stinson that men should not learn.
No Means Yes?Barney doesn’t get it. For him every rejection by a woman was turned into an avenue for manipulation. He doesn’t get that no means no. And unfortunately, therein lies the problem. Many young impressionable men bought into this twisted narrative because the character was seemingly funny and likeable.
via GIPHY
Women as Conquests In an episode where they discussed his origins, HIMYM showed Barney as a sensitive and emotional man who after having his heart broken by the love of his life turns from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. With the single goal of bedding as many women as he could, Barney leaves behind a trail of destruction that is rarely explored in the show. Every woman he interacted with was seen as potential prey. What’s even more disturbing is the stranglehold this belief had on dating culture at large at that point in time.
© CBS/IMDB
Playbook PoliticsSo instead of meeting women and getting to know each other on an emotional level, Barney likes to deconstruct human beings into categories and gimmicks. While the show may have intended for this to be a potential marketing asset, the ground reality was that it ended up giving men across ages a warped image of what cis-het dating should be like. All these ludicrous tactics in the hopes of attracting a potential partner? Icky.
via GIPHY
Overplayed the Bro Code One of the most endearing aspects of positive masculinity is the camaraderie and honesty male friendships have. However, Barney’s bro code turned all that into a convoluted lump of dumpster fire. Pitched as the ultimate constitution or the bible for young boys and men, it banded us together against women in an us vs them narrative. For boys growing up, we barely knew what accountability in friendships was supposed to be like. The Bro Code only further strayed us from having meaningful male friendships.
© CBS
Victim Complex
Sure Barney Stinson had a traumatic childhood. Even his early adulthood might not have been easy. But the way his character arc was designed left him with a two-dimensional personality, internally bitter at the world, women specifically. Because he felt hollow and lonely, he filled it with a warped sense purpose, one that predetermined him to treat women as objects for sexual fulfilment. And since there were countless young men looking up to him as a role model, they learned the same lessons too.
via GIPHY
Characters from popular fiction have a strange way of latching on to public attention. Sometimes these characters develop a cult following. And in a country where *** and relationships are still considered taboo, characters like Barney Stinson inadvertently become an avenue for kids to learn about how adult relationships work. The damage has been done, but at least we can unlearn and grow out of it.

Taking pride in your work and loving what you do is a great feeling but when you are an actor, you get to play so many shades of different characters and that’s the beauty of this job. Now imagine an actor falling in love with what their character is doing and ending up doing that in real life as well.
Actor Anup Soni, whose claim to fame and the reason he is a household name today is hosting the crime investigation show Crime Patrol, has surprised his fans and viewers after turning into a real life crime investigator. He completed a certificate course in Crime Scene Investigation from International Forensic Sciences (IFS) Education Department and has been all over social media ever since he shared his credentials.

While this is an inspiring post for his fans and many congratulations have poured in for him, some people on social media couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that he literally took his job too seriously.

Let's get one thing straight. All of us love having a slight peep at a beautiful sports car like a Lamborghini, Porsche, or Ferrari when it passes us by at a traffic light.
© Istock
I mean, seriously, we may not even watch racing sports like Formula 1 or Nascar, but we sure never let off from admiring the supercars in them. Now, it might really have started with the Fast and The Furious Series (Back when things weren't all about 'Family'), but we're always there to notice a hot car when we see it.
© Universal Pictures
However, when we talk about the best cars, we cannot overlook the fact that we saw some really cool ones in Hollywood movies or television series. All these fictional cars have amazing distinct features which make us sort of wish that they existed in real life. Well, here is a list of a few:
1. Batman's Batmobile © Village Roadshow Pictures
Remember the 90s cartoon that used to air on Cartoon Network in the morning? Come on! Even if you were a toddler while watching this, we're pretty sure you sang along to the iconic intro when it said, 'Go Speed Racer! Go!'
Now, it's okay if you didn't but it certainly won't be okay if you don't know what this car is about.
Known as one of the most powerful race cars in the fictional universe, the uniquely designed supercar has a set of buttons that unleash different features. The car has Auto Jacks to help it jump while racing, Belt Tires for more traction over any terrain, Cutter Blades to cut any obstacles in its path, a deflector that makes the car bulletproof, and a Frogger mode which helps the car travel underwater.
Damn! This would be a cool ride to show off to your friends.
3. Harry Potter's Ford Anglia Flying Car © Paramount Pictures
Autobots, TRANSFORM!! You're lying if you read that and didn't have Optimus Prime's iconic voice ringing in your ear. We'd list the Autobots leader's truck in the list, but unfortunately, it's really a cool truck, and not really a car, which brings us to this - Bumblebee's Camaro Car.
First thing's first. This piece of 'Rally Yellow' colored Chevrolet isn't just any Chevy that you see. As you know, the car can transform into a beast of a robot that can do anything but speak properly. Yeah, unfortunately, it has a faulty radio, but who cares, right?
The iconic car is Sam Witwicky's Decepticon-destroying go-to-car to save the universe, and well, it sure is pretty, pretty cool.
6. The Back To The Future 'DeLorean' Car © Universal Pictures
Want to find out how the Pyramids were created? Want to figure how it must have felt to walk amongst giant Dinosaurs? Well, the DeLorean car from the Back To The Future series has you covered. It is one of the most famous cars from cinema as it gives you something that we probably will never have. The ability to Time Travel.
Before Rick And Morty, we had Doc and Marty. However, both pairs almost had the same task at hand. Traveling through space and time to change the course of events in different timelines, while also having a bit of fun.
If you've seen the three films, you'd know what I'm talking about, and if you've not, then friend, you should totally take me as a Netflix advertiser and find out more about the car from the movies. (Thank me later!)
If you think I've missed out on a few cool supercars that deserve a mention, do let us know in the comments below.

Have you ever wondered what drives you in bed?
Is it always the person you’re with? Possibly the extra shots you had at the bar a few hours ago? Or is it a kind of a drive that comes from deep within? One that you feel is almost omnipresent and a part of your personality now.
© iStock
It could also be that what's driving your sexual instincts is not just the alcohol or the attraction but also your star sign, which is said to dictate quite a few personality traits in people.
The 12 zodiac signs can categorise people based on almost anything, but if you’re looking to find which ones are known for getting frisky in bed, chances are (and they are good) that it would have to be one of these six:
1. Scorpio © iStock
The sign that has the reputation of being one of the most sexually charged amongst all others.
Think of Scorpios as bunnies - dangerously adorable and harmless from the surface of it, but extremely irresistible and active in bed.
If you are a Scorpio, or perhaps dating one, be sure to receive cuddles with a side of heavy seduction.
2. Taurus © iStock
Often pegged to be close to Earth and nature, it is safe to say that this bull-charged sun sign has a rather natural pull toward sensuality.
Taureans master the art of seduction, as well as dominating in the bed, owing to their stubbornness. People with the bull sign are big on sexual appetite and love to take their time in foreplay.
3. Gemini © iStock
Also called the air sign, Geminis are known to ironically take your breath away in bed.
Kicking predictability and monotony right out the window, this sign is always down to play. Flirting, teasing, experimenting are all but natural instincts for Geminis, who know just how to keep things interesting.
4. Leo © iStock
Leos are associated with lions, and that in itself is enough for you to know that getting in bed with a Leo is like getting in bed with the king of the jungle.
Passionate, dominating and supercharged in bed, Leos channel their love for the wild and free-spiritedness by literally rocking your world. Think of roars, not moans.
5. Aries © iStock
Perhaps the kind for whom sexual compatibility and drive means the most, Aries are known to have a deep desire for everything sexual.
Churning excitement in the bedroom is second nature to them, for they love being spontaneous and keeping their partners on their toes. Pun intended.
Expect a lot of deep, meaningful and nasty experiences with them in bed!
6. Sagittarius © iStock
The one trait that is common in Sagittarians is that they get bored all too easily. Which is why you will always find them spicing things up behind closed doors.
Making good use of their powers of seduction and then when the time is right, going in for the kill, Sagittarians are all about the hunt.

There comes a time in everyone’s lives where everything that we’d previously known and believed is challenged. How we deal with these challenges and mature into fuller human beings can be considered our coming of age.
Over the past several years, Bollywood has delivered some exceptional films that beautifully capture this crucial but nerve-wracking phase in people’s lives. Here are five coming of age movies that Bollywood got right:
1. Wake Up Sid This movie cemented Ranbir Kapoor’s status as the posterboy of coming-of-age cinema. Sid, our titular character goes through life as someone who’s believed to be wasting all their potential, having been raised in the shadow and protection of his parents. But reality strikes him and he’s forced to confront his sheltered upbringing when he meets Aisha, a writer, driven to make her dreams come true. Real life isn’t easy, and it can often get overwhelming. But we have to step up to the challenge and seize the day, that’s what Wake Up Sid teaches us.
2. Lakshya Starring a young Hrithik Roshan as Karan Shergill, an aloof but kind-hearted youngster who doesn’t have any particular passions, thanks to a limited outlook on life, Lakshya is a movie that inspires every youngster to reach their full potential regardless of how difficult it gets. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. The soundtrack of the film was iconoclastic, from Mai Aisa Kyu Hoon to Lakshya, we get to witness our protagonist’s evolution from being a confused youngster to a driven, mature and sensible adult.
3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara A cult classic, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara changed the way the youth of India saw themselves growing up. It was a guidebook on exploring ourselves through exploring the world and relationships. We’ve all got this one life to live, and ZNMD inspires us to live our best version of it.
4. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani Yet another Ranbir Kapoor movie in a listicle featuring coming-of-age movies? Not much to be surprised by here. A different take on a love story, Bunny and Naina have feelings for each other, but the timing’s never right as he prioritises his vocation and his wanderlust, while the more grounded Naina focuses on her medical practice and her need to be around family. After several ‘will they, won’t they’ moments, Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Bunny decides to make his life work around his love for Naina.
5. Rang De Basanti If there’s ever been a movie that single-handedly changed the way the youth of the country related to patriotism, it has to be Rang De Basanti. Inspiring the culture of India Gate Protests among the masses as well as standing up for what is right, regardless of the oppressor, RDB helped us look beyond ourselves in order to do what’s best for the country.
Whenever I have a bad day, I put on one of these movies and remind myself that there’s always a way to break the monotony of life. So can you. Let us know which are your go-to coming-of-age films in the comments below.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, after getting banned from Twitter, has actively taken to Instagram stories to express her views and opinions about current affairs.
For example, the recent development of the Pegasus spyware and how it can secretly activate the phone's camera and get access to messages, emails, important data and photos in a device, seemed to be the inspiration for her latest post.
Considering that Kangana usually talks about recent topics, her recent remark came in right on the heels of the leak, even though she claimed otherwise.

She took to Instagram and, in a lengthy note, spoke about 'kings' and how they disguised themselves to secretly visit the remotest parts of their country to know what others were discussing and talking about. She cited the example from Ramayana.
However, after the long post, she clarified that she wasn't talking about the Pegasus leak.
© Instagram/Kangana Ranaut
She said, "Even in ancient times greatest kings used to disguise and secretly visit the remotest parts of their country, people and their homes to know to hear what their subjects talking or discussing, this exercise is a part of administration, biggest example is in Ramayana, during one such visit lord Rama got to know about Maa Sita's perception among general people when he heard them secretly."

She wrote, "No big deal if the king wants to know about antisocial element's whereabouts or general issues of people and their mindset. It is his right, prerogative and business to keep his eyes and ears open. So hyenas stop crying foul and No I am not talking about #pegasus Ha ha ha."

For the unversed, Pegasus is a malware that gets access to iPhones and Android devices. It allows for pulling all the data. The Washington Post recently reported that around 180 journalists, 600 politicians and government people and more than 60 business executives were allegedly targeted by the NSO Group.
The Wire reported 40 journalists, two serving ministers in the Narendra Modi Government, oppositions, constitutional authority and new and former heads of security organisations and several business people in the database, according to reports.

After Kangana's account was banned on Twitter, the actress asserted in a statement that it's the entitlement of 'white' people to 'enslave a brown person.' She has also been explicit about using Instagram and said in a post that while it helps influencers, it's not a great place for conversations and the exchange of ideas.
She wrote, "I am not interested in your clothes and skin I want to see deeper I want to see your mind and intellect."
On the work front, Kangana will soon be seen in Thalaivi. Some of her other projects include Tejas, Dhaakad, etc.

She is vivacious, has an enigmatic personality, and has had a journey that deserves to be celebrated and talked about. She took a massive step from TV to Bollywood and is living her dream on movie sets. Yes, we are talking about Toofaan’s leading lady Mrunal Thakur. She had no connections in the film world but has made her presence felt only on the basis of her merit.
Mrunal made her small screen debut with Kumkum Bhagya. Back then, no one could have guessed that she would be romancing biggies like Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, and Farhan Akhtar on the big screen. She will also be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Jersey. Fighting against all odds and stereotypes that are connected with a TV actor transitioning to Bollywood, Mrunal has been proving all the haters wrong.
View this post on Instagram
She refused to pay heed to all the people who tried to push her down and in fact, she says she is thankful for the existence of such haters in her life who made her who she is now.
I recently got a chance to connect with Toofaan’s leading lady Mrunal Thakur who shared her experience of working with actors like Paresh Rawal and Farhan Akhtar. She also spoke about her cinematic journey and how she dealt with rejections that came her way.
Here are the excerpts from my interview:
People have seen you in Kumkum Bhagya and have adored you since then. Your character in the show was opinionated but imagining you as Sonia in Love Sonia was hard. You played such a raw character on the big screen and I am sure it wasn’t easy considering the movie explored the subject of prostitution. How did that transition happen?
It’s the actor in me that pushes me to pursue different roles. I also feel somewhere there is a seed planted in me that makes me take up such roles and I always want to try something different that pushes my capabilities as an actor. I wanted to surprise myself as far as my performance was concerned. This is the mindset I have for my future projects as well.
View this post on Instagram
You have always said that it’s because of Vidya Balan that you were inspired to take up acting. Now that you’re a part of the industry, have you had any interaction with her, and has she seen any of your movies?
I briefly met her during Mission Mangal's release as her movie and Batla House were released on the same day. We had a moment but my friend who also works in the industry made sure that she asked Vidya Ma'am to record a sweet message for me on my birthday. In the video message, she expressed that she has seen Love Sonia and she is really proud of me. I really want to tell her through your platform that she is the one who opened doors for me and many Indian actresses. She is the one who has given voice to many female-centric roles and the way she gets into her characters is something I admire about her. If the perspective of looking at the female characters is changing in the industry, it’s simply because of her.
Coming from a TV background, it’s not easy to make a mark in Bollywood because there are a lot of stereotypes attached. You have time and again mentioned that your journey hasn’t been all rosy. Can you tell me your side of the story?
First of all, thank you for asking this question. No journey is easy and I am sure it wasn’t easy for you to be in the position that you are right now. With me, when it comes to struggles, I want to say thank you to all the people who demotivated me. I am the kind of person who loves challenges and I wouldn’t have been this person if such people didn’t exist in my life and didn't tell me that I couldn’t be an actor. I really like drama in my life and this is what keeps me going. I would also like to add that I never focused much on these people and I will never seek their validation.
Your character Ananya in Toofaan pushes Aziz to become a better version of himself. She is a motivator. What part of you as Mrunal resonates with Ananya?
I think both Mrunal and Ananya are empathetic. When I meet people and they discuss their issues, it feels relatable, and somewhere down the line, I ask myself if I can help this person. Similarly, Ananya has so many wounds in life and is a broken soul but she channels her pain into something constructive. She is a doctor and wants to relieve all the people of their pain by treating them. Ananya is someone who pushes people to become their best version and inspires them. Ananya can be anyone, your friend, your teacher, or your domestic worker. I was very close to my domestic worker who always motivated me to keep working hard.
© Prime Video
Your performance in Toofaan was really impressive but how difficult was it to take up a script that dealt with the Love-Jihad angle as it could have backfired easily?
You know, I believe in the story and it’s a lovely film. I hope that people take the best part from it and at the same time, I just saw what the role was all about.
Your character has a journey of its own and it ends on an emotional note. It did have a cathartic effect on viewers. I believe if any actor manages to bring in that effect, half of the battle has already been won. Do you think the same way?
Yes, I do. I also believe it’s also got to do with how much I can relate to my character and if I am not able to connect to the person I am playing on the big screen, the audience will not feel it. Having said that, these OTT platforms give the audience the pleasure of pause and rewind. They can rewatch the movies and sequences that made them feel all these emotions. Audiences are now smarter and they expect the ‘real’ version of you. It’s been two years that I wasn’t a part of any movie but it’s the relatability quotient that kept my characters alive.
© Prime Video
With OTT platforms, actors who are not from filmy backgrounds have finally found their voice too. Now, people are more attracted to talent than stardom. What do you have to say about it?
Right now, there are two types of audiences. One section of people watches movies because they are fans of the particular star and there is another section that wants to see the reality on screens. OTT platforms have opened doors for every actor. There is no barrier when it comes to performing on OTT platforms. I remember watching The Family Man and I loved how the makers kept it so real, even retaining the original language. It’s a blessing in disguise.
View this post on Instagram
Mrunal, you have been rejected for a few roles that eventually went to star kids. How did you handle that part of your journey?
Rejections are a part and parcel of your life. It took me seven to eight years to make that transition happen. I think this is probably why I value my journey a lot. I value my work and even if I am having a bad day on set, I will remind myself why I started in the first place. I keep reminding myself that it took so many years to come where I am.
View this post on Instagram
You got to work with Paresh Rawal. He is someone who can dominate the screen. Were you a little nervous sharing the screen with him?
I met Paresh sir and I told him that I am scared. He told ‘arre Mrunal aise kaise; aaja baatien kartien hai.' When I sat with him, he told me one thing that acting is about the conversation that we are having right now. He told me to forget the fact that a camera is around shooting our conversation. People tell us actors need to be presentable but when you are playing a character, you have to understand the depth of it. Paresh sir doesn’t restrict himself and he told me that ‘you shouldn’t be ashamed of yourself.’ I learnt a lot from him, he is an institution in himself.
© Prime Video
Before I wrap up, how was it working with Farhan as he is a man with many talents? He is a producer, actor, singer, director, poet, and much more.
You know when I was about to start the shoot, I was thinking that I would be meeting a director, an actor and a singer but when I met him on the set, I met Aziz Ali. The way he surrenders himself to the director is amazing. Farhan trusts Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra so much that he didn’t let his director come out even once. He is like an inquisitive child who wants to learn everything he can. He enjoys the process and I feel blessed that I got a chance to work with him.

We wish her all the best for her future endeavours.
