We have all heard someone or the other say that before the British came to India, we were one of the richest countries in the world. Well, there is some truth to it. We had families that were so insanely rich, that they would make the Jeff Bezos & Elon Musks of the world look like paupers.

    Β© Wiki Commons
We are of course speaking about the Jagat Seths, and simply put, they were the richest family in the world at one point. However, most of our history books, the ones we read in school, do not speak about them. Why though? Well, read on to find out.

Who Were They? Β© Wiki Commons
The Jagat Seths was actually a title bestowed upon a Marwari family based out of Murshidabad in the 1600s till the late 1770s. The most prominent members of this family were Seth Madhab Rai, and his cousin Maharaj Swaroop Chand, the last two scions of this empire. The family was established by a man called Hiranand Sahu, a jeweller who started lending money at an exorbitant rate and would only take land as collateral.

The Seth family were not royalty per se, but they were connected to the Royals of Bengal. Historically, the family was basically into trading of fabrics, spices and artifacts. They eventually lending money to people, from which they made a huge fortune. They would often lend money to kings and kingdoms, as well as the British East Indian Company.
How Rich Were They? Β© Wiki Commons
Saying they were filthy rich would be like saying that Jeff Bezos owns peanuts. In today’s money, they had holdings that would be worth about 1000 Billion Pounds or more. Heck, British documents have shown that they had more money than all the banks in England combined. Some reports also estimate that the British economy back in the 1720s was smaller than the wealth the Jagat Seths had.

To put things into perspective, consider this - they owned about half of the total land in undivided Bengal. Combine Assam, Bangladesh & West Bengal. They owned half of that.
How Did They Make So Much Money? Β© Wiki Commons
Hiranand’s son Manikchand Sahu, became very close to Murshid Quli Khan, who became the first Nawab of Bengal. By this point in time, the Sahus or the Seths, had an office in almost every major city in pre-independence India. Their offices were nothing short of the modern-day bank. They even had an internal communication system comprising of messengers and whatnot to enable transactions between two cities.

The Nawab as well as the Britishers soon started using the Sahus to move money from one place to another.Β
They also financed the Portuguese, French & British colonial powers to wage wars against smaller kingdoms in certain portions of India, and they earned a lot of interest from this.Β
What Happened To Them? Β© Wiki Commons
Because of their double-dealings with Indian kingdoms as well as the British, things got a little murky. Madhab Rai and his cousin Maharaj Swaroop Chand were captured and shot dead shortly before the Battle of Buxar in 1764 on charges of treason, by Mir Qasim. When he was shot, Madhab Rai was the richest man in India. Apparently, both of them funded the British East India Company in the Battle of Plassey, against the Nawab of Bengal. They also funded the Nawab’s army, but did not help them prepare against the firepower of the British Army.Β

Where Are They Now?After the death of Madhab Rai & Maharaj Swaroop Chand, the empire started collapsing. They lost control over much of the land they owned, and the money that the British East India Company borrowed from them, was never paid back. The final nail in the coffin for them was the revolt of 1857. By the 1900s, the Sahu Family or the Jagat Seths disappeared from the public eye. Much like the Mughals, their descendants are not known.

Jalebi Baby is here and It’s enjoying its Despacito moment on the internet. Tesher and Jason Derulo, the self-styled Bollywood-Hollywood duo are taking the world by storm with Bhangra and generous servings of Jalebi Baby. But why are we so hyped for this song whereas previously songs with a desi twist such as Lean On and Hymn For The Weekend were panned for cultural appropriation?Β
    Β© Tesher
Here are three reasons why we don’t mind Jason Derulo doing the Bhangra To Jalebi Baby.Β

Sweet ConnectionBeyond being a certified hit maker, Jason Derulo also has a penchant for all things sweet. One look at his TikTok and Instagram will show you. His fans are often left astounded by the love this man has for candies, chocolates and what not. So when he chanced upon Jalebi Baby, he knew Tesher had a hit collaboration waiting to happen. A veteran of virality, Jason Derulo teased his fans with a feature on the track when he uploaded a video of him making jalebis at home. His followers went wild, especially the South Asian diaspora. He found a way to make his online persona work organically with the hook of the song. After all, it's not every day that we get one of the most iconic personalities on the internet genuinely fostering a desi connection.Β
    View this post on Instagram
Dancer ExtraordinaireIf nothing else, Jason Derulo surely knows how to dance. Since his early career he’s made a name for himself with his electric dance moves. Whether it be Swalla or Talk Dirty To Me, his music videos have been fodder for several dance trends.
Which is why people have been reacting feverishly to his latest collaboration with Tesher. Who would have thought we’d ever get to witness him doing something so desi? To top that off, he looks natural while doing Bhangra, and not like someone who’s taken a few classes before the music video was shot. In fact, with these dance moves and his global visibility, he’s given a newfound audience to Bhangra.Β
    View this post on Instagram
Doesn’t Take The MicWhile conversations around the song might now involve his name, Jason doesn’t hog the limelight from his co-star Tesher. Even in the music video, Tesher and Jason Derulo are projected as equals, vying for the attention of a certain Jalebi Baby. In this way, he doesn’t pander to the saviour complex that most people from the western side of the globe suffer from, and are rightfully ridiculed for as well. Jason has shown nothing but a sincere appreciation and excitement for the culture, and we’re all here for that. The creator of the infectious hit, Tesher has also been overwhelmingly supportive of the way Jason has approached this collaboration, frequently commenting and bantering on the Talk Dirty To Me hitmaker's comment section on Instagram, hinting at a budding bromance.Β Β
    Β© Tesher
It’s refreshing to see the internet take so well to a collaboration and part of the reason is because they see Jason as someone who appreciates and respects the culture rather than someone who’s looking to make a quick buck out of it.Β

The Indian film industry is notorious for often putting star status and exceptionally good looks before talent while casting for movies.Β Β
Brilliant actors who don’t hail from the film fraternity miss out on the chance of playing the lead, not because they can’t shoulder a film or because someone is better suited for the role, but simply because they don't have a godfather in Bollywood who could nudge the biggies to cast them as β€˜the hero’.
    Β© Instagram/Jimmy Sheirgill
These actors get minor roles in their kitty like the hero’s sidekick, β€˜hero ka dost’ or the other man who ends up losing the girl to the hero, basically the β€˜second lead’.Β

Some of these incredibly good actors have managed to prove their acting prowess through the supporting roles they’ve done and amassed a huge fan following.Β
However, their fans do want to see them as the main lead in the movies.Β
    Β© Instagram/Deepak Dobriyal
Here are five such Bollywood actors who are too good for doing the supporting roles and deserve to play the leading man in the movies:

    1. Aparshakti Khurana Β© Instagram/Aparshakti Khurana
Aparshakti Khurana made his debut with Dangal alongside Aamir Khan. From Stree to Lukka Chuppi, his performance as the supporting hero has been as entertaining as the main lead of the movies he has acted in.Β

After half a decade in the industry, he is finally going to play the lead in his next, Helmet but certainly deserves more attention from the casting directors of Bollywood.Β
    2. Jimmy Sheirgill Β© Instagram/Jimmy Shergill
It’s a surprise that such a terrific actor could never land a leading role in his career spanning over 20 years.Β

From Mohabattien to Tanu Weds Manu series, his natural and powerful acting has kept us hooked to the screens. He has made his mark in the Punjabi industry as the main lead, but Bollywood is still unable to see his talent.Β
    3. Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub Β© Instagram/Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub
The young actor has proved time and again how brilliant of an actor he is but how come we never have seen headlining a movie as the hero?Β

He has got the looks, the charm and incredible talent. What’s lacking? A godfather? Probably.Β Β
    4. Deepak DobriyalΒ  Β© Instagram/Deepak Dobriyal
He is one actor who is probably loved more than the main hero of the movie. His character Pappi in Tanu Weds Manu was the highlight of the movie, and so was Gopi in Angrezi Medium.Β

Anytime Deepak Dobriyal appears on screen, the audience cannot get enough of him. Yet, he hasn’t got the chance to lead a movie on his own.Β
    5. Jim SarbhΒ  Β© Instagram/Jim Sarbh
Something tells us that Jim Sarbh, who has always played either a drug dealer (Zubin Mistry Sanju) or a sidekick to the big bad villain (Khalil in Neerja and Malik Kafur in Padmaavat), has the knack for playing the lead in a romantic movie.Β

Can we see him playing anyone other than a second lead to a hero or the villain’s henchman?Β

With the monsoon finally kicking in, at least here in Delhi, it may be time not just to get your clothes wet in the rain, but also your woman, who has had to struggle enough times in bed as you worked your way to her through a drought.Β

    Β© iStock
You see, a woman’s vagina is like the weather, when it’s wet outside, it is time to go inside. However, many men proceed without caution and on dry land. And even though, I do understand how it can be awfully difficult sometimes to make your woman get wet, set and ready. It is far from being impossible.Β

Here are 6 tips that might just come in handy and help you...'water her plant':
    1. Whisper In Her Ears Β© iStock
A rather underrated method to get your girl going, most women get turned on simply after listening to their man whisper softly in their ears.Β

Whether it is dirty talk, sweet nothings or simply telling them how much you like them or perhaps, how much you crave them, a whisper in the ear ALWAYS works like a charm.Β
    2. Give Her A Handful Β© iStock
Put your fingers to better use and go on a wild exploration of the caves.Β

Trace lines across her thighs, graze her softly and when the time comes, don’t be shy to let your fingers go fishing. Pro tip - the hook is a catch!
    3. 'Lip To Lip' Kiss Β© iStock
Except we’re talking about the less conventional pair of lips, one that women carry between their thighs.Β

Ram your head in between her legs, flood her with kisses and let your tongue do the talking. Trust me, you’ll make it rain in no time!
    4. Exploit Her Weak Spot Β© iStock
Every woman, including yours, has a weak spot, one that as soon as anyone touches will make a current run through her body.Β

For some, it may be their back, their feet, their neck or even their knees. Find out that one spot that makes them writhe in bed and while you’re stroking her, also graze her weak spot for definite results!
    5. Dry Humping Β© iStock
As ironic as it may sound, it works.Β

The act of simply stimulating *** but withholding for the act, all the while grinding and teasing the woman is enough to let her body get prepared for what's to come.Β
    6. Lube It Up Β© iStock
Not most preferred but one that definitely guarantees moisture, using a lubricant is also a way to make your way down a woman’s slippery slope.Β

It not only helps the woman feel relaxed, not fearing for any friction, and will make your grand entry as smooth as possible.

You might have had two thoughts if you read that headline and clicked it. Firstly, it could either be something on the lines of β€˜hmm, sure it did though’. Secondly, it could probably be like β€˜acha? Kaise? Batana zara. Over expensive vacations with hypothetical best friends? We don’t have all that'.

Either way, it definitely gives a new perspective to life. The genius Akhtar siblings (Farhan and Zoya) have taken it upon themselves to ensure that they infuse an idea of what friendships and life lessons are made of. One gave us Dil Chahta Hai, the other one gave us Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. This aesthetically gorgeous movie completed 10 years and as I watched the cast and crew share memorabilia on social media, I couldn’t help but stir some thoughts and ask people around how they remember this movie. Here are my two cents on probably how this β€˜zindagi’ movie changed the way we perceived so many things in our zindagi:
Adult Friendships Are Not So Complicated AlwaysThe trio of Abhay, Farhan and Hrithik are shown to be buddies from college who later moved on to different paths when life happened. While Abhay plays the catalyst between Farhan and Hrithik, there is an evident tension and complication between these two. We see how they had a fallout years ago and things probably never got better. Eventually, all is forgotten and forgiven and they open up to each other, spend time, even fight out their anger.
    Β© Excel Entertainment
This makes you wonder that even if that one friend is gone from your life, chances are, you can rekindle that friendship later in life, and it is not an impossible thought. Sure, they had a mediator, they had a full blown European vacation, etc. but my point is, we think our paradigms around relationships and friendships are so concrete, that the childlike innocence of using cuss words, fighting with your BFF, only to hug it out later, seems like an alien concept. Talking about other elevated friendships, the way Kalki and Abhay's character call off the wedding and still manage to be amicable with each other as friends proves that love can sometimes change the evolution of its course and continue staying, even if it is not how we think it to be.

Confront Your Fears To Conquer Themβ€œThoda dhoop hai sabka hissa, thoda gham hai sabka kissa”, these lines hit you differently every time you watch the movie. If there’s one important lesson for ay individual in this movie, then that is β€œder lagi lekin, maine jeena seekh liya”.
As the silky voice of Shankar Mahadevan describes the complexity of life penned beautifully by none other than Javed Akhtar, one must learn how to get past your tears and fears, and live life. The extreme sports that the three friends select involve each one of them conquering a fear they have harboured all their lives. Be it the fear of water or the fear of height, the metaphor translates to how you need to move past mental blocks in life.
Another fear that needs to be confronted is the fear of the unknown in human relationships. When Farhan is extremely intimidated to meet his father (played by Naseeruddin Shah), and almost doesn’t introduce himself, one realises that in a matter of seconds, our decisions to β€˜take that leap’ changes our perception around what we fear.

Even when Katrina’s character is contemplating whether she should chase Hrithik or not, the viewer is already debating it in his mind, if this relationship will work out. Again, it’s a step towards conquering that β€˜what if’ and just doing it anyway. They eventually end up together so I guess it explains everything.
Travelling Widens Your Horizons, Physically & MentallyThe movie is about travel goals for sure and one of the reasons why so many Indians decided to flock the streets of Europe and make a β€˜to-do’ list of what to do there, just like what DCH did to us and forced everyone to make plans of running to Goa with friends.
However, when I say that this film proves how travelling is food for the soul, I don’t mean to assume that one needs to empty their pockets and find their zen only after playing in the Tomatina festival or sipping Sangria at a Spanish beach. There is something intricate and unique about travelling with your friends or people who know you in a way which is concealed from the world. You could be a CEO, a mother of two kids, a salaried employee at a corporate MNC, but when you are with your people, the aura of your personality changes.
Travelling forces you to shed inhibitions and as you explore the food, the culture of a city, you automatically also explore your own mind and heart. You realise you have the penchant for something, your taste buds have a liking of more cheese on bread, your migraine hits you less when you run on the beach, or maybe your heart smiles wider and you breathe better when you see mountains around you. It could be anything innocuous, but when you reflect enough, you realise something inside you changes even though it looks the same.
    View this post on Instagram
Even though this movie released over a decade ago, it is one of those β€˜defining’ works in Indian cinema which will not just be remembered for the fancy aesthetics it portrays and for the European view it offers to a sore pair of eyes, it will be remembered as movie you play randomly when you sit with friends, a movie you watch repeatedly when you don’t know what to do, a β€˜pick me up’ when life seems to be dragging you nowhere. Like the name, it truly forces you to ponder that β€˜Zindagi, indeed, Na Milegi Dobara!’

The art of getting the perfect shave at home might seem like a tough thing to master but it’s all about having the right tools. While we all focus on getting good-quality razors and buying shaving creams that suit our skin type, the one tool that doesn’t get the focus it needs is a shaving brush.Β
Don’t think that it is important to get a good quality shaving brush? Well, that is where you are wrong. A good quality shaving brush helps turn your at-home shave into a salon-quality experienceΒ
How To Choose The Right Shaving Brush?Choosing which type of shaving brush you need can be confusing, there is an array of options out there for you to choose from. But how do you decide? What are the parameters? Well, that is where we come in!
    Β© MensXP
Here are the 3 things to consider when choosing the right shaving brush:

    1. Brush stiffness: A stiffer brush will hold less water. This makes it more difficult to work up a lather. If you prefer a more durable brush, a shaving brush with strong bristles would be the best option.
    2. Handle Shape: A shaving brush handle should fit snugly in your hand and offer adequate grip during the lather and application process. The brush is made up of three parts: bristles, a knot, and a handle. The breadth of the knot determines the width of the handle the most. The brush's loft height merely refers to the distance between the handle and the bristles. Overall, select a brush with a handle that is suited for your hand.Β
    Β© MensXP
    3. Bristles: In the last decade we have seen a shift towards cruelty-free grooming and beauty products. While earlier people used shaving brushes made with real animal hair like boar, badger & horses. While it depends on personal preference, the current synthetic shaving brushes are made with high-quality polyester that is soft and smooth on the skin.

What Types Of Shaving Bushes Are Available? Most shaving brushes in the market are made with badger fur, boar hair or synthetic fibre. Some companies also use horsehair to make brushes.
    Badger:__ECOMPRODUCT__1202__
Badger’s hair is the most popular, coveted, and expensive shaving brush material. The bristles are soft and gentle on the skin, and the fibres contain a lot of water. Badger hair shaving brushes are popular because of their ability to hold water and retain heat.
    Boar:Β __ECOMPRODUCT__1203__
The bristle obtained from boars is firmer than badger hair and is initially coarse, which is uncomfortable on the skin. The coarser structure of the bristles makes it ideal for lathering soaps because it allows you to readily stir the soap's surface. The bristles' tips will soften and feel more broken in overtime, but they will never be as soft on the face as badger hair.
    Synthetic:__ECOMPRODUCT__2114__
Synthetic brushes have come a long way. It can be difficult to tell the difference between a synthetic brush and a high-quality badger brush in some circumstances. This is why you should always read the product page/packaging to make sure that is synthetic and cruelty-free.
Why Use A Shaving Brush?Using a shaving brush has numerous advantages. Aside from the fact that shaving bushes assist reach underneath your facial hair, letting the shave cream/soap penetrate the skin and protect your skin from the blade, they also:
    1. Help form a rich and warm lather
    2. It helps soften and lift the hair off the face
    3. It helps open the pores
    4. It gently exfoliates the surface of the skin to rid it of dead cells before your shave
How To Use A Shaving Brush For The Perfect Shave?A father teaching his son how to properly shave is a rite of passage that has been going on for generations. Did your dad skip out on how to properly use a shaving brush and focused on the razor? Don’t worry! We got you.
    Β© iStock
Using a shaving brush is really simple. All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

    1. Soak your brush in warm water.
    2. Take a drop of shaving cream on the brush.
    3. Lather on your face using the brush in a gentle circular motion.
    4. Ensure the face is covered in a generous amount of lather.
    5. After this just cut through the lather using a good quality razor and enjoy a smooth shave!Β
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2001__
How To Take Care Of Your Shaving Brush?A decent shaving brush can last for a long time if it is properly cared for. You must take care of your brush if you want it to maintain its great quality and appearance. How? Simply follow the steps below:
    1. After shaving, rinse the brush with warm water and β€œflick” the brush hairs to remove any excess water.
    2. Place the brush face down (or hair down) on a shaving stand (one is included with the brush) so that water drips down rather than into the brush.
    Β© iStock
    3. Keep the brush on the counter rather than in a cupboard so it can β€œbreathe”. You can also get a brush stand that helps keep your bristles dry and clean.

    4. Pulling or tugging the hair can weaken the hair knot and cause the brush to shed more. Brushes do shed a little early on, so keep it in mind.
To Wrap UpShaving your beard is an activity the requires precision, care and quality products. It is important to remember that a shaving brush does not need to be super expensive and made with animal hair to be good at its job. A shaving brush made with synthetic bristles is capable of a clean, smooth shave as long as you take care of it properly.

It’s not easy being a Bollywood celebrity. Sure, they’ve all the money in the world. And indeed, they have all the admiration and adoration that one can desire. They are also some of the most powerful individuals in the country. But it seems even these actors and their filmmakers, adored by the whole country, fall prey to unrealistic body standards.Β
Here are 5 times Bollywood actors were caught using CGI on their bodies to fool the audience.Β
    1. Govinda in Happy Ending
For several years, Govinda had been a bankable name in the industry. His comedic timing and dance moves had endeared him to many. But he tarnished his image with this awkward scene from the disaster that was Happy Ending. The filmmakers either thought this would be funny or that the audience would never realize the fact that those six packs were digitally created. Scrub through the initial few seconds of this video to witness the travesty.Β

    2. Salman Khan in Dabbang 3
Bhai had been synonymous with muscular physiques since the early days of his career, where he serenaded the country in Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. But it seems that he hasn’t been able to get himself off that wave. Despite boasting a decently buff physique, Sallu bhai thought it best to take the CGI route for Dabbang 3 when it wasn’t even necessary for the role.Β
    Β© Salman Khan Films
    3. Akshay Kumar in BossΒ

I was surprised with his addition to this list as Mr. Khiladi is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood. In Boss, however, Akshay Kumar’s shirt-ripping, bare torso scene leaves all of us confused. The CGI work was shoddy and the only thing it inspired was sympathy for a fitness icon to have resorted to such parlour tricks. Start viewing the video from 6:09 onwards.

    4. Salman Khan in WantedΒ
Somehow all the characters Salman ends up playing fit into the emotionally stunted, muscular hero stereotype. He resorted to CGI assistance in order to look β€˜ripped’ for Wanted. The only thing he succeeded in showing was his insecurity with his own body. Maybe it’d be better if he put in as much attention to developing his characters as he does in developing his abs artificially.Β
    Β© Sahara One Motion Pictures
    5. Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger

A repeat offender in more ways than one, Salman Khan deserves a special mention for this. This man has a great body for his age, owing to years of working out. However, he may not be the leanest looking actor out there, but he definitely doesn’t look too shabby either. Instead of playing to his strengths, Bhai prefers to live in wonderland, desperately trying to convince the world that he’s got some of the most awkward looking abdominal muscles, thanks to CGI. At no point would the movie have been harmed by his natural stomach. But hey, who knows what goes inside Bhai's head?Β
My favourite part from 'Ek Tha Tiger' was when the VFX studio released a showreel of their work, and accidentally revealed how Bhai went from no-pack-flab to six-pack-abs.

(And then had to remove the video from every platform, because Bhai) pic.twitter.com/LpEK9xeHRI
    β€” Sahil Rizwan (@SahilRiz) December 26, 2017
Sometimes these standards are so deeply ingrained within us that it becomes impossible for us to fathom characters in movies without ultra-muscular looks.Β
Unless your character literally demands you to look like an otherworldly superhero, why would you invest in intensive CGI budgets to project your insecurity onto an entirely impressionable audience ?Β

Bharti Singh might be a famous personality today but her journey wasn’t a bed of roses. She had her fair share of struggles and has seen the lows in her life up close. She recently opened up about coming through extreme poverty, and the initial challenges she faced in the industry as a woman.Β
During an interview with actor-host Maniesh Paul for his new podcast The Maniesh Paul Podcast, she revealed the horrors of being inappropriately touched by show organizers but back then, she lacked the guts and confidence to give it back or even for that matter understand their real intentions.
    View this post on Instagram
β€œThe coordinators (of shows) misbehaved sometimes. They would rub their hands on the back. I would know it’s not a good feeling, but then I would think that he’s like my uncle, he can’t be bad. Maybe I am wrong and he is right. So, I thought this doesn’t feel right. I had no understanding,” she said on the podcast.
β€œI have the confidence to fight now, for my body, for my honour. I can now say 'what is the matter, what are you looking at? go out we are changing now'. I can speak up now, but I had no courage back then," she added.Β Β
Many women from industry, in the past, have spoken about the ugly truth and have reflected on how casting couch has affected them mentally and shattered their confidence.

Bharti also talked about living in extreme poverty and how the family didn’t have sufficient food on a daily basis. Singh said, β€œGhar jaane ka mann nahi karta tha (I didn’t feel like going home). I would stay in college with my friends and eat at the hostel. I knew once I go back, I would have to face poverty. Live in that dim light
β€œI have lived in that noise for 21 years. I don’t want to ever go back there. I don’t have very big dreams but I keep praying to God that I am able to sustain what I have. We have eaten salt and roti but now we have dal, sabzi, and roti. I just hope my family always has at least dal to eat. I will never want to face the situation or have my family go through that,” Singh added.

Bharti has set an example for those who are still blaming their background for not letting them grow in life. We salute you for not giving up, Bharti!

At the cost of sounding hypocritical and a tad bit controversial, I will go ahead to say that despite rooting for transparency and honesty in a relationship, it is okay to keep a few secrets from your significant other.
Now, by that, I don’t mean keeping information of having an affair under the wraps or lying about important things that must always be told upfront, but keeping a few things to yourself that aren’t game-changing to the relationship isn’t always a bad idea.
After all, you’re your best secret keeper and telling your partner every little passing thought in your head is not necessary.Β
    Β© iStock
Here are a few things that are better kept to yourself and are okay to hide from your partner:

    1. You’re Not Too Fond Of Their Family Β© iStock
No matter how much you may love your partner, it is not necessary that you’d have the same feelings for their family.Β

It is possible that they get under your nerves more often than you were ever prepared for, and sharing this observation with your SO will only make matters worse.Β
    2. Your Friends’ Secrets Β© iStock
If what you know is not about you or your partner or directly affects either of you, then it is simply not your story to tell.Β

You must never feel guilty for keeping your friends’ secrets from your partner, because it is anyway not their place to know what someone else told you in confidence.
    3. You’ve Stalked Your Ex On Social Media Β© iStock
It may have been a couple of months ago, a few weeks ago or just yesterday, but telling your partner that you casually made a visit to your ex’s profile is a recipe for disaster.Β

Unless the reason you’re lurking in the past is that you feel you’re still attracted to them, you don’t have to worry about telling your partner.Β

As natural as the instinct may be to check out who they were dating previously and make a quick comparison, it’s always a bad idea to share how you may have checked out their ex’s profile once or 7 times.Β

Chances are, your curiosity will be perceived as you being jealous.

Now, unless you flirted back, keeping instances where people flirted with you or made a pass at you while you turned them down is something you need not tell your partner.Β

Because what you’d be telling only out of earnesty, could be seen as you trying to rub it in their face on how people are flirting with you left, right and centre, risking making your partner a tad bit insecure.
    6. You Didn’t Like What They Got You As A Gift Β© iStock
Couples find several occasions to get each other presents in a relationship, and it's only natural to not like all of them.Β

But since they probably got you that gift with a sentiment attached, telling them how much you hate it or that you’ll get it replaced first thing tomorrow, is just plain brutal.Β

One of the oldest rules in the book, never say β€˜yes’ to when your partner asks you if they look fat.Β

If anything, find different and less catastrophic ways to tell your beau that they may have grown to be unhealthy, all the while keeping your thoughts about them looking fat just to yourself.
    8. You Finished A TV Series Without Them Β© iStock
A common practice among couples is usually to binge TV shows together.Β

However, there will be times when your SO would be caught up with work, running late or out with their friends, leaving you all alone at home with a bag of Cheetos and a new episode of the show lined up.Β
And so, before you know it, the one thing you were to do together as a couple, you have enjoyed in your own β€˜me-time’. My advice? Do not tell them and instead, watch it again with them. No point getting banished to the couch after all.Β
    9. Embarrassing Things You Did In Your Past Β© iStock
We all have had a past before we start dating someone new and while it is considered important and healthy to come clean about a few things to your partner, the kind of people you dated, why you broke up, how long you’ve been single and all that jazz.Β

Sharing stupid or embarrassing things that you fear would invite criticism or judgement is not crucial. These were things you did long before they came into your life and you have the right to take those moments to your grave if you wish to.
    10. How Much Money You Make Β© iStock
This is a rather subjective suggestion, because different people set different levels of transparency in their relationships. For some, it is important to share their finances with each other, especially if they’re planning them together.Β

For others, they like to keep information about how much they earn, invest or spend to themselves. And not only is it their choice, but it is also okay to keep your private information private.Β
