Flashback to 2020 - OnePlus Nord became the world’s first smartphone to launch in AR, and it was one memorable affair. The brand enabled people to enjoy the launch from the comfort of their couch - a true experience in augmented reality.
Fast forward to now, the Nord successor, OnePlus Nord 2 5G has become the talk of the tech town, for more than one reason.
Here’s what makes it worth the hype:
OnePlus Joins Hands With MediatekOnePlus Nord 2 5G is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1200-AI Chipset. This chipset packs numerous AI-based features that make this phone stand out. AI gives a major boost to the phone’s display in the form of AI Resolution Boost and AI Colour Boost. In simple words, a world-class display experience that is immersive, impressive, and illustrative.
Is this the future? Or did we just use a really great camera?

The Sony IMX766 sensor on the OnePlus Nord 2 5G’s primary camera lets in 56% more light for vivid night shots that look like they’re from another era of cool.#ShotonNord by Chi Chu pic.twitter.com/KvX1ft3Cj3
    — OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) July 15, 2021 Next up, OnePlus Nord 2 5G will also have features like AI photo enhancement, AI video enhancement and Nightscape Ultra. So, whether you want to click pictures from a moving car, zoom into a far off scenery or click golden hour selfies - trust this phone’s camera to excel in every field.

There are regular camera sensors, and then there’s the IMX766. It’s kinda like we put a giant vacuum on Nord 2’s main camera that sucks in 56% more light for improved colour, sharpness, and low-light shooting.

    — OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) July 14, 2021 The collaboration between OnePlus and Mediatek has enabled the phone to improve its photo processing speed and image stabilization capabilities.

In a nutshell, the AI-based features make this phone a solid gadget for video gaming, photography, video editing and streaming high-definition content.
Features That Are Creating BuzzOnePlus has confirmed that the phone will have a 6.42” fluid AMOLED screen, a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 50 MP AI triple camera. In fact, the main camera of this power-packed phone absorbs up to 56% more light for improved colour, sharpness, and low light shooting.
Taking colourful, blur-free photos of people trotting around on the beach is challenging. Well, unless you’ve got a OnePlus Nord 2 5G with a light-gobbling 50 MP IMX766 primary camera with OIS.
