Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora made their romance public in 2019 on Arjun's 34th birthday via an Instagram post

Men love cars and they certainly like them fast!

While most of us might not be in the position to own a Ferrari or Lamborghini any time soon, what is the harm in at least appreciating their existence on Earth, right?
© iStock
Be it the racing video games, Top Gear magazines, or racing sports like the Formula One on TV, most of us would be totally game to have a peek at fast cars because it's something that comes from within, the NEED for SPEED!
© Electronic Arts
And well, there is one movie franchise that was introduced in the early 2000s to give us a perfect dose of it.
© Universal Pictures
The Fast & Furious franchise starring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, gave us everything that we needed. Fast cars, exciting street racing action, nerve-racking heists, and a really exciting storyline were a complete package to keep us glued to our seats.
© Universal Pictures
Well, at least for the first few movies after which the series took on a completely different track, and honestly, has stopped making sense.
© Universal Pictures
So, let's take a look at what exactly went wrong with the series:
1. No More Racing © Universal Pictures
The first few movies including The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), and The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) are absolute fan favourites to date.
Why?
Simply because apart from all the drama-driven plot of the action film, things revolved around the basic concept of racing. Well, that's what got things started, right?
© Universal Pictures
We loved seeing Diesel's Dom Toretto and Walker's Brian O'Conner square off against each other in a streetcar race, which goes the same for the other two movies as well. (especially drifting in the third instalment).
Unfortunately, the franchise decided to completely let go of racing altogether, and well, that didn't work well with the audience for certain.

2. Less Relatable © Universal Pictures
This does not mean that we all relate to owning a Vin Diesel American Muscle car like the 1970 Dodge Charger or Paul Walker's orange Toyota Supra. Nope, we don't. Many of us still take the metro to work, brother.
What we are saying is that while it was easier to imagine high-adrenaline racing or car-chasing action, the idea of jumping from one building to another was something we could not have imagined in the wildest of our dreams.
I mean, hello? Even Harry Potter and his best friend Ron Weasley would have trouble pulling something like that off even with a flying car.
© Warner Bros
Well, love it or hate it, the Fast series is filled with bizarre action sequences like the Furious 7's Abu Dhabi skyscraper jump and a lot sitting in the audience were like, "Bhai, yeh kuch zyaada hogaya!"
3. The Family Keeps Getting Bigger © Universal Pictures
While we obviously all love movies with a good ensemble cast, take, for example, Marvel's Avengers movies, the Ocean's series, or for that matter, even Bollywood movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., the fact remains that it does not always work for everyone.
© Prime Video
© Netflix
If we take this in the case of the Fast series, while we did dig this idea of the original Fast & Furious cast adding more members like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Sun Kang (Han) to make things more exciting, the movie did end up losing certain elements that would have made it more successful.
© Universal Pictures
Adding well-known stars brings more eyeballs but it also unnecessarily creates complications in terms of storylines of the film which are forced to give space to the all-star characters instead of keeping things simple with just a few main leads.
© Universal Pictures
Moreover, as noted in the case of the real-life beef between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, bigger stars bring bigger egos to the team, something that is definitely not good for a successful franchise like that of the Fast series.
4. There May Be Dinosaurs In The Franchise In The Future © Twitter/ Comic Book Now
Yes, you read that just right!
After the concepts of flying and building jumping cars, a car taking on a flying helicopter, and almost the entire WWE squad joining the series, the Fast franchise is contemplating the idea of having a crossover with Jurassic World.
© Universal Pictures
This was according to Fast and Furious director Justin Lin, who during a virtual press conference a few months back flirted around the idea of having race cars and dinosaurs in one movie.
“Well, I’ve never said never to anything. And part of our philosophy is not to ever be boxed in or labelled. And that’s all I will say,” said Lin.
Dude, come on! We certainly get it that the family can take on literally anyone in the world, but dinosaurs? Really?
Anyway, if this comes to fruition, it certainly cements the fact that the moviemakers are smoking some cracking 'maal' that we cannot get our hands-on.
© Universal Pictures
Unfortunately for the dinosaurs, just like the extinction, they didn't see this one coming either.
Well, guess what, Mr T-Rex? We did not either!

While some of us have lost all semblance of a work-life balance, thanks to working from home, others have managed to take full advantage of this phenomenon, using some rather ingenious solution.

A post on Reddit blew up recently when a man shared a rather unique experience about working from home.
He stated that he had discovered a way to finish up 8 hours worth of work in just two hours, and would enjoy the remaining 5-6 hours, just browsing the internet, day trading, and looking at YouTube videos.
© iStock
If you think that the man found a super-efficient way to work, well you are just partially right. In reality, the guy found it a very cool trick to hack the system and use automation to do most of the leg work.
© iStock
He said, that most of the times, his job entails writing reports based on some calculations. Now, no matter what the situation is, the calculations are usually similar in nature. Therefore, he tried to use some basic MS Office tools to make his work easier.
© iStock
He said that he created a large and quite extensively detailed database on Excel, set the formulas every day that he worked, let Excel carry out the calculations, and give out automated sentences, which, again, would be automatically exported as a Word document.
© iStock
The end result was, that the work that his colleagues would take about 8 hours to finish, he would finish it up in under two hours.
Seems a little too hunky-dory, doesn’t it? Well, the man wasn’t supposed to enjoy this utopia that he had created for himself for very long. He had a girlfriend who was working in the same company and would report to the same manager. The OP shared his trick with his girlfriend and taught her how to do this as well. After they broke up for some reason, his ex-girlfriend, revealed this to his boss.
© iStock
She also shared his screen via Skype, and unbeknownst to him, he proceeded to live his workday, as he usually did - set up his work, and then browse the internet, watch YouTube videos, and day-trading.
The next day, he was called in by HR for some disciplinary action. The HR apparently had screenshots and videos of what he was doing. Luckily, the man wasn’t terminated. He also stated that he now regretted showing off this hack to his ex-girlfriend.

Several other users commented below his post, saying that this hack should have been a secret that he should have taken to his grave. Another user commented that this is why one should never reveal the secrets of their trade, to anyone, ever.
What do you make of this situation? Suppose you find a secret hack for your job that made your life much easier, would you keep it to yourself, or tell a select few people? Do let us know in the comments below.

In what feels like several years wrapped within a couple, life since 2020 hasn’t looked the same for many of us. The pandemic has forced us to take refuge within the confines of our homes for our own safety as well as everyone else’s.
There is widespread consensus that COVID19 isn’t exclusively a respiratory virus, as it also has the potential to affect the heart, kidneys and nervous systems of individuals. We got in touch with Dr Vimal Dassi, Associate Director, Urology, Uro-oncology, Robotics and Kidney Transplant, Max Hospital, Vaishali to shed light on what happens to male fertility post covid.
BADViruses impacting the reproductive system isn’t new, right?“There has been a concern among the medical fraternity whether COVID19 can involve the reproductive system thereby impacting fertility in men. However, it is not unusual for viruses to involve male reproductive tract. Mumps & HIV virus are known to do that.”

Any symptoms that can hint at a possible impact on fertility?“Some studies have also confirmed the presence of this virus in the testis. Testicular pain, which could suggest viral orchitis, was observed in several works, with an incidence of up to 19% percent of patients. Pathological signs of inflammation were found in 60.9% of testicular biopsies performed in one study. ”

Does COVID 19 impact male fertility? “A study was published in January 2021 in the journal Reproduction that suggests the COVID-19 infection does impair semen quality. This was a relatively small study consisting of 84 infected men. All semen parameters, including concentration, motility and shape, were adversely impacted as compared to the control group. In addition there was an increase in markers of inflammation and oxidative stress - that are known to harm sperm function.”

GOODDo vaccines affect men’s fertility? The vaccines don’t seem to affect men’s fertility. In one study, researchers at University of Miami covered 45 men before and after they received their vaccines.
“Of the 45 men, 21 (46.7%) received BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNtech) and 24 (53.3%) received mRNA-1273 (Moderna vaccine). Baseline sperm concentration and TMSC (total mobile sperm count) were 26 million/mL and 36 million, respectively. After the second vaccine dose, the median sperm concentration significantly increased to 30 million/mL and the median TMSC to 44 million. Semen volume and sperm motility also significantly increased,” the report, published in the peer-reviewed Journal of American Medical Association (Jama), said.
The results reinforce that these vaccines do not impact fertility, thereby taking care of many vaccine sceptics.

If COVID19 does impact male fertility, can it also be sexually transmitted? “While many studies have confirmed a negative effect of Covid 19 on men’s fertility, none of them has been able to establish that Covid can be sexually transmitted.”
© iStock
UGLYDo we know its long term consequences yet? “A study published in Pubmed shows statistically significant reduction in testosterone levels and sperm quality in patients affected with COVID-19. In many cases though the tests were conducted during active disease and long-term consequences are still not known.”

Due to the novelty as well as the various mutations of this virus, information around COVID19 is ever evolving. We’re now in the second half of 2021, and are still discovering the extent of the toll COVID19 takes on an individual. Our best hope at getting some semblance of control over our lives is to wear masks, ensure social distancing is followed and to get vaccinated. Book your slots today!
