On Friday, the legendary wrestler, two-time Olympic medallist and murder accused (not important) Sushil Kumar was not only seen belittling the puny coronavirus pandemic by not wearing a mask, but he also allowed the brave, talented, and extremely professional Delhi Police personnel a fan moment of their lifetimes by striking a pose with the team for a grand photo-session.
Dressed in a red shirt, tracks, and slippers, India’s most loved athlete at the moment, Kumar was all smiles as he was being transferred from Mandoli jail to Tihar jail but looked in no rush as he stuck around for a few timeless pictures with the “men of law”.
Its look like Delhipolice themself droping him off at airport for olypmics #SushilKumar pic.twitter.com/DqkkE7b2Es

If you’re thinking that it was highly unprofessional and completely inappropriate for the police to proudly stand next to someone who was accused of beating a person to death, while reports of him kidnapping and holding hostages also came in, you’re most definitely wrong.
The cops say that this was somewhat of a “routine” drill! They surely form a hurdle standing next to every potential criminal, while smiling from ear to ear for the camera before pushing the accused into one of the biggest jails of the world.
Policemen were seen posing with murder accused Sushil Kumar outside the Tihar Jail, Delhi.@AnvitSrivastava with details.

To focus on the fact that it was the same Delhi Police that was tricked and humiliated by an absconding Sushil Kumar for over two weeks since the murder of Sagar Rana is to talk about some fictional history which never took place… We don’t talk about that.
Based on how fond of the accused criminal the cops seem to be, it was almost a surprise when the news came a few weeks back about Kumar demanding protein shakes inside the prison and the police actually declining his request.
Chatrasal stadium's parking became the ring of real fight of wrestlers and criminals on May 4 night. Olympian wrestler #SushilKumar can be seen in white TShirt & hitting with a rod a person lying on the ground. In this assault a wrestler was killed and later Sushil got arrested. pic.twitter.com/DEY6jJF6ND

The kind of camaraderie that the two sides are showing in the pictures exceeds all emotions, aims, and objectives, and the thought of Kumar not being able to follow his “wrestler’s diet” simply because he was caught on a video, flexing after reducing a person to a pulp with a stick, just sounds too dramatic and unsettling for us weak souls.
Nonetheless, a Delhi Court extended Kumar’s judicial custody for the wrestler till July 9th, 2021 and he will spend these days in Tihar. Hope he doesn’t get too uncomfortable in there. He’s a superstar, after all.

Minister Of Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad & Dr Shashi Tharoor were locked out of their Twitter accounts this week for a bizarre number of reasons.

    © BCCL
For those who have been unaware of the situation, the Indian Ministry of Information & Technology had drafted a couple of regulations, which all digital media and social media platforms have to abide by. Dr Tharoor was the chairperson of a parliamentary panel that was looking into Twitter’s concerns over the rules and regulations, and whether their concerns were legitimate or not.

    © BCCL
Within hours, their accounts were again unlocked.

From the surface, this seems like a rather vindictive move by Twitter, after it was determined that Twitter needs to abide by those guidelines if it wants to operate in India. However, further investigation into the matter has revealed, that the reason why Twitter locked Minister Ravi Shankar & Dr Tharoor out, is quite bizarre.
    © BCCL
Both, Minister Shankar, & Dr Tharoor had retweeted posts that contained portions of copyrighted songs. Dr Tharoor’s retweet contained a portion of a BoneyM song called "Rasputin," whereas Minister Ravi Shankar’s tweet contained a portion of AR Rahman’s “Maa Tujhe Salaam.”

Here’s where things get interesting. Standard policies dictate that using very brief portions of a song for non-commercial purposes is fair usage. Moreover, whenever a Tweet contains any copyrighted material, the tweet itself is removed. The account tweeting the copyrighted material getting locked is rather unprecedented.
Also, let’s not forget, that Dr Tharoor, simply retweeted an already existing Tweet.
In both cases, Twitter was apparently acting against a complaint it received from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, on behalf of Sony Music Entertainment. The interesting thing is, that the complaint, cited a US Law, called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

After they were able to access their account, nboth the parliamentarians received a notice from Tiwtter saying that if they received more copyright infringement complaints, their accounts might get locked again, or even suspended.

This has obviously led to some netizens crying foul, and suspecting that there is something ulterior about these accounts being locked.

I don’t care about anyone’s deafening silence sir. I only know one thing that we gave 303 and @rsprasad is throwing them in DUSTBIN.

Blocking a Minister is an Insult to INDIA. And only thing needed is to #BanTwitter but instead our minister is cribbing about his HELPLESSNESS.!

    — Sreenesh Rao🇮🇳 (@sreeneshrao June 25, 2021Indians creatively make videos using short snippets of foreign music. Most people would consider that "fair use". Instead of letting the clip enhance the popularity of their sing, the copyright holders have issued notice. Though i just RTd it, I'm not about to contest their act.

Was Twitter was right in locking the accounts of Minister Shankar, and Dr Tharoor, who just happens to be leading the parliamentary panel on ensuring that digital media platforms abide by certain rules? Or was it being a little too punitive? Do let us know in the comments below.

What's the best way to let someone know that you belong to India without actually telling them that you belong to India? 'Well, just stop right dead in the tracks on spotting a black cat in the middle of the road and wait for others to cross first.

    © iStock
That's right! Almost every Indian kid or young adult has been told by his or her mummy-papa, uncle-aunty to stay clear of black cats in the neighborhood as they are a sign of bad luck.

Now, while we can assure that the black cat superstition is absolutely bogus as the poor animal is probably out there just looking for food, there are some Indian superstitions that you should actually adhere to as they are backed by science.
    1. The Ghost Of The Peepal Tree (No Ghost, Don't Worry) © iStock
Remember back when we were kids (or maybe some of us are still), your mummy, dadi, nani would advise you not to visit the peepal tree at night because its ghost will climb down from a branch and eat you up?

Yeah, don't worry, that's not happening. However, the fact is that the myth was brought down from the fact that trees and other plants exhale carbon-di-oxide during the night, and well, inhaling that obviously is not good for our health.
But kids are kids, and they don't listen, so probably, the ancestors thought, let's add some 'bhoot-pret' masala to keep the kids at bay.
    2. Using Nimbu-Mirchi To Prevent 'Buri Nazar' © iStock
You might have seen Nimbu-Mirchi being hung right outside shops. Well, as the saying goes, the ritual protects humans from buri nazar and evil spirits.

Actually, the reason why it is hung at a lot of places is down to the properties that lemons and chilies have.
With both mightily rich in different vitamins, our ancestors probably considered it to be a good thing to carry around or set up at places. However, how it got passed down as a ritual against spirits is probably just a bad game of Chinese whisper.
Over and all, lemons and chilies both have insecticidal properties to prevent insects from entering.
    3. Sleep Facing The South Or You Will Die © iStock
Let's be honest. After a hectic day at work, school, or partying with friends, we're just happy with the fact that we're actually sleeping on a bed and not the goddamn floor.

However, in India, many elders often tell us not to sleep facing the direction of the north, with many even suggesting that we might actually die if we don't follow suit.
While that isn't exactly true, the fact is that there is indeed a relationship between Earth's magnetic field and the field of our human bodies.
Sleeping with our heads in the south helps avoid harmful effects related to blood pressure as well as many other diseases. So guys, hope you have a compass in hand from now on.
    4. Eating 'Dahi-Cheeni' For Nailing That Big Interview/Exam © TOI
If you've not had a big spoon of sugar or curd from your mom before a big exam or a job interview, are you even an Indian?

While we and our Indian households think it's a supplement to good fortune, the fact is that it is basically a way to keep our bodies healthy (maybe it is good luck, after all).
Sugar is known to provide instant glucose to our bodies while consuming curd has a cooling effect on our stomachs, preventing acidity and other gastric problems.
    5. Beta, Solar Eclipse Dekhoge Toh Andhe Hojaoge © iStock
This is such an Indian thing. We might waste our eyes away scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, or finishing 10 Netflix episodes in one go, but what we do not do is look at the sun during the solar eclipse.

Why? Because our parents told us not to or else we'd go blind. Well, it's kinda true, man. Observing a solar eclipse with a naked eye can cause retinal burns that could do some serious damage to your eyes.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake in my opinion was one of the greatest RPGs ever made. It was certainly on the top of every gaming list last year and it seems like Square Enix wants to give fans more content with an additional story. If you own a PlayStation 5 and a copy of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you can already enjoy the updated graphics for free barring the PS+ version. Loading times on the upgraded version are vastly faster than the PS4 version and you can play the game on 60fps performance mode as well. There’s also an option to play the game in 4K 30 FPS mode as well.
    © Square Enix
While the new upgrades are a good enough reason to get back into the game, you also get access to a story expansion called “Intermission” that can be bought separately. The new DLC expansion comes included in the PS5 version of the game if you never bought the previous game for the PlayStation 4. While the main game follows the journey of Cloud and the AVALANCHE crew, in the DLC you take control of Yuffie, a ninja side character from the main game.

When you fire up the Intermission DLC, you will instantly notice that Yuffie doesn’t handle the same way as 'Cloud'. Her move sets are very different from Cloud’s and experience a story that is separate from the main plot of FF 7 Remake. Having said that, the two chapters that you get to play in the DLC has been presented with the same production value as the main game. Currently, the two chapters are exclusively available only for PlayStation 5 players and if you do own the console, I highly recommend checking it out.
    © Square Enix
As mentioned before, the game does offer visual upgrades for the DLC content as well, meaning you can play ‘Intermission’ at both 60FPS or 4K 30FPS as well. I preferred playing the highly action-packed game in 60FPS as I like the gameplay to be as smooth as possible. However, if you prefer higher graphics quality, you can always run the game in quality mode which renders everything in 4K. While the game does look beautiful with higher-resolution details in quality mode, I wasn’t pleased playing it in 30 FPS. Since I was already spoiled by the faster gameplay in 60 FPS, I instantly changed it back to performance mode.

The Intermission DLC also takes place at the midpoint of the base game’s story. Yuffie, who is an optional party member in the base game, is the centrepiece for the plot of the DLC. While Yuffie may not have been an integral part of the main story. The DLC does explore some plots that will most definitely be explored in the second part of FF7 Remake. While some may just cast “Intermission’ as an unimportant expansion, in my opinion, it plays a far important role in the overall story.
    © Square Enix
As for Yuffie, we do get to see more of her entertaining characteristics. There is also a stark difference in the overall tone of the story since Yuffie herself has a very zestful personality. Her personality gets well represented in her dialogue and gameplay as well.

Speaking of gameplay, Yuffie controls very different from Cloud which I found to be more enjoyable as well. She wields a melee weapon called a shuriken which can be used both as close combat or as a ranged weapon. Her natural abilities are also fun to use which are quite effective at defeating bosses and key battles. It is also worth pointing out that you can only play as Yuffie in the DLC.
    © Square Enix
Unlike the base game where you could take control of any party member, here you are only restricted to play as the main protagonist. I would have loved to control ‘Sonon’ but alas that was not the case. While you cannot control ‘Sonon’ he still is an effective party member as he does participate in battles quite a bit. You can equip his abilities and weapons that suit your play style, but it still isn’t anything like when you could control Barret, Tifa or Aerith in the main game.

The Final Say If you’re a fan of Japanese RPGs in general or a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, there’s a lot to love in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. If you still haven’t played the main game and want something new for your PlayStation 5, this could be the perfect time to see what your new hardware can do.
The improved textures, faster loading times and great lighting are very satisfying to experience on the PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The same experiences also extend to ‘Intermission’ which is another bonus for new players. Overall, Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade is a satisfying update to experience right now and in my opinion, one of the best games to experience on the PlayStation 5 right now.
