It is impossible to underestimate the impact of a father on a young man’s life. Their beliefs, their example, their style, their habits, even their presence go a long way to making the mould that their children grow into.
Their words and advice echo in a child’s thoughts for the rest of his life. It is with this in mind that we believe no matter how old or responsible we are, we’ll always need our fathers to protect us like an umbrella in the rain.
This also means a father’s health is vital and the best we can do is make them feel healthy, happy and safe—just like they did. So how do we do that?
1. Assess Your Dad’s NeedsYour father has a lot of practice at taking care of you but you might not know how to do the same for your parents. So start by categorising and assessing what they need.
Do they need family support, home safety, mobility, a permanent cook? Are they socially active? What are the medical conditions they’re dealing with?
Write it all down and solve it one by one.
For example, if your dad is managing diabetes, you must keep a check on his medicines, supplements, diet and physical activities (if you don’t already).
Being involved with your parents can boost their mental health.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1465__
2. Make Him A Part Of Every ProcessMost parents are so used to working, especially fathers that when it’s suddenly time to stay put and relax, they fail to do it. Losing control is not something they appreciate.
So make sure you involve them in your decision, in the process of building a healthy family—be it hiring a house help or adding a new supplement to their diet.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1455__
3. Take Care Of His Sleep & Nutritional NeedsYour dad must have pulled off plenty of all-nighters in his younger days but with age, 6-7 hours of sleep becomes necessary. Even one day with less amount of sleep can show you a difference in his behaviour.
Most dads wake up early and due to years of practice, it’s difficult for them to sleep after sunrise. Encourage them to sleep on time.
They may or may not be aware of their nutritional needs at this point. So keep a balance of all nutrients while serving meals as you would do for your child. Or consult doctor supplements.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1774__
4. Workout With Him For all age groups, regular exercise can improve mood, emotional well-being and of course, physical health. Your dad will enjoy workouts more with you by his side.
Yes, it is possible that you like to do your workouts in the gym or go for a run and your father prefers yoga. You can always encourage your old man to take the yoga classes in your gym or take out 20 minutes to do yoga with him.
Along with spending quality time with your parents make sure they have friends of their age. This will keep them from feeling lonely.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1775__
5. Encourage Him To Pursue A HobbyMotivation is important for youngsters to achieve their goals. But as our parents age, they need the motivation to stay happy, active and involved. Doing household chores is one way for them to achieve that but it’s not enough.
A hobby like gardening, painting, baking, knitting or decorating can increase longevity. If they don’t already have one, inspire them to take up a hobby. Urban farming is one of the most soothing ones if you ask us!

Schedule Regular CheckupsDon’t take any symptom for granted. You can’t always detect a health issue but regular checkups minimise the risk. Make it a habit to schedule a monthly visit to the doctor.

As the probe into Sagar Rana's alleged murder continues, a shocking revelation has come to the light which suggests that brawl at Delhi's Chhatrasal stadium wasn't a one-off incident and that things flared up between the two groups after Sushil's ally misbehaved with Sonu Mahal's female friend, who was also brutally beaten up by the two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar and his allies.
According to a report in India Today, the police have unearthed a property tussle between the two groups and things escalated after Ajay, Sushil's associate confronted Sonu Mahal's girlfriend at a flat in Delhi's Model Town during a birthday party in March.
View this post on Instagram
The flat reportedly owned by Sushil was forcefully occupied by Sagar and Sonu and they had not vacated the flat despite Olympian's repeated warnings. In March, Sushil's friend Ajay barged into Model Town flat and got really angry after seeing Sonu's birthday celebrations going on there. Sagar and Sonu were not present in the flat when Ajay walked in and he reportedly misbehaved with Sonu's girlfriend.
The girl narrated the entire incident to Sonu and Sagar after they returned back after which they called Ajay and abused him for mis-behaving with Sonu's girlfriend. This incident further fuelled the animosity between the two groups and Ajay approached Sushil and they planned to settle the scores once and for all.

Ajay and Sushil also roped in gangsters from Aasuda gang for more muscle power and they picked up Sonu and Sagar from the flat and assaulted them brutally and even recorded the video to spread fear among others. Sonu's girlfriend narrated the whole incident when she was called up by the police for questioning.
Sonu, who was also beaten up badly on that night, has made several shocking revelations which eventually led to to the unfortunate spine-chilling incident on May 4, resulting in the brutal murder of junior wrestler friend Sagar Rana.

Sonu revealed that Sushil was angry with Rana because he took 50-60 wrestlers with him to the new institution, opened by a former Chhatrasal coach Virendra.
He further stated that Sushil and his thugs even kidnapped five individuals to know Sagar's whereabouts. Later, Kumar had to release one of the hostages after his wife called the police.

Boxing legend Dingko Singh passed away on Thursday following a long battle with liver cancer and even struggled with coronavirus last year.
Dingko Singh won gold at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games and he was then awarded Arjuna Award and later the Padma Shri.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is one of the few celebrities who paid tribute to the boxing legend.
Paying tribute to Dingko Singh, Shahid wrote, "Padma Shri Dingko Singh was one of the finest boxers, an award-winning sportsperson who's brought glory to our nation several times. He will always remain a source of inspiration for the young generations. My sincere condolences to his dear ones. May his soul rest in peace.”

People appreciated the fact that he is one of the few famous personalities who paid a tribute and were also curious to know the status of the biopic on the boxing legend.

For the uninitiated, Shahid had told a leading daily in 2019 that he had the rights to make a film on Dingko Singh. However, the project never materialized.
"I have the rights for Dingko Singh. It's a film I really want to make, and I'll make it. But I don't know what I'm doing next," he had said.
The biopic on Dingko Singh was set to be directed by Raja Krishna Menon, however, Shahid is saddened by the fact the project didn’t materialize when the boxer was alive.

He told PTI, “It is unfortunate and terrible. This has come as a shock. I knew he was ill and suffering, but I didn’t know it was this bad. He was a wonderful human being and a spiritual person. It is unfortunate that we couldn’t make the film before he could have seen it.”
He added, "The film got stuck... we will see what happens. He wanted the film to be made because he wanted the story to be told to inspire people. He was a pragmatic person. He never called me or asked why it was stuck. This film needs to be made. It is a story that has to be told. It is a tremendous story and a tribute is due to him. I do believe this film needs to be made.”
We wish the film does get made and people get to witness the boxer’s journey.

Watermelon is a summer fruit that is available aplenty around this time. And, there are so many ways you can relish this sweet and juicy fruit.
For example, you can chop it and use it in a fruit salad or make a mocktail (or summer cocktail), the list goes on.
However, we are sure you couldn’t have thought of having it as an appetiser, with a dip or tangy sauce.

If you are into weird food combos, you are going to love this one trend that’s been doing the rounds on the internet. Apparently, a food blogger Young Yuh shared a video where had a slice of watermelon with yellow mustard sauce, claiming it was “so good.”
© Instagram
Soon enough it went viral as a TikTok challenge and everyone was found chopping up a juicy watermelon and squeezing a generous amount of mustard sauce on it. A lot of people tried it including celebrities like Hilary Duff and Lizzo.
© Instagram
The reactions are mostly mixed with some people finding it disgusting and others settling for “not bad”. An Instagram user who took the food challenge wrote,”Ok I did it. Not mad at it at all. The mustard took away the sweetness of the watermelon Try it.” Another reviewed the trend saying, I tried it. I didn’t spit it out. I almost choked because the watermelon was juicy and then mustard tartness on top of that. Will I do again? I don’t know. It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t mind blowing.”
I tried the mustard on watermelon and it’s wasn’t horrible
I also dip my fries in mayonnaise & bbq sauce 🥴
— Shashana 🇺🇸 (@Shashana80sKid) June 9, 2021Tried the mustard on watermelon trend and it’s actually not that bad. It’s so confusing. 🤣
— K a t i e (@katiengler12) June 8, 2021Probably be high enough to try this watermelon and mustard bullshit I keep seein lmaooo
— HOT SAUCE (@Horny_Fuckin) June 6, 2021And then, there were some who were so disgusted by the idea, they said they wouldn't even try the combo. However, it doesn’t sound so bad. Watermelon is usually had with salt to cut it’s sweetness and add a tangy taste to it.
© Instagram
So, it can’t be that bad. Not as bad as ‘Maggi with chocolate’ or ‘gulab jamun pizza’ at least. Yes, that happened!

The story is about an Indian girl, who is invited to a party but isolates herself in a room. When the host enters the room, she is surprised to see a girl sitting, while everyone else is partying. The shy girl then opens up about recently moving to the US and how she finds herself lost. The host then has a heartfelt conversation with her and tells her to give it a chance and introduces her to everyone at the party.
The movie ends with credits and some amazing friendship pictures. Aaliyah and Ida have been friends for a long time. They are both currently studying at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. This movie received rave reviews from everyone. A user in a long comment explained how shy people can't handle the pressure of being judged and how they need to be strong in this cruel world. The user appreciated Ida for making this short film.
In a YouTube video, both Ida and Aaliyah once spoke about Imtiaz's movie Tamasha. They recalled an incident when Aaliyah got lost in Corsica at the time of the shoot and the whole unit was scared. Aaliyah continued saying, "We decided to go for dinner, and we asked them. But we went farther than we said we were going to." She added they went to a restaurant and ate. When the bill came, they didn't have any money, so Ida had to run back to her father, who was later mad at them.

Even though we live in an ever-evolving society, we still struggle with the idea of beauty and the different standards set for men and women. In the last few years, we have seen more and more body-positive influencers take centre stage as plus-size models made it to the cover of magazines and walked on runways.
While loving your body the way it is has become a recent topic of conversation in our society, many of us want to lose weight, have a fit, healthy body and push ourselves to be the best version of ourselves.
I have struggled with weight and body image issues for as long as I can remember. There was never a time in my life when I was “skinny” but in 2016, I let myself go to a dangerous extent. My lifestyle was unhealthy, my body was struggling with issues like PCOS & thyroid while also dealing with my emotional binge eating.
© Snigdha Kacker
My family is very fitness-oriented (unlike me), and we have all had our weight-loss journeys. But, the one that motivated me the most was my father’s. He is a dedicated, disciplined and hard-working man who never stopped his fitness journey and inspired me to get started on mine.
After years of slacking off, I restarted my weight-loss journey after the pandemic hit and since then I have lost over 23 kgs! That’s right! While diet control & exercise played a major role in this, here’s how my dad became the guiding light through it all:
Becoming My Alarm ClockMy dad goes on a morning walk every day without fail. Doesn’t matter if he slept late, was travelling or it was freezing outside, he will put on his workout gear (which I keep updating!) and go for a walk, sometimes twice a day!. So, to help me get into a routine, he became my alarm clock. Every day without fail he would wake me up at 6:30 and push me to go on a walk/run.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1771__
Teaching Me The Importance Of DisciplineSince my brother & I were kids, our dad has always insisted on the importance of discipline and sticking to a schedule. He would always get dressed in proper clothes and shoes, even on weekends. While that might have changed since the pandemic, he made sure that nothing else did.
© Snigdha Kacker
While I was working on losing weight, my biggest struggle was to make sure that I did not fall off the wagon. Dad made sure that he never wavered from his schedule, which in turn motivated me to stick to mine.
My Dietician, Cook & Motivator In OneWhen I first started this journey in April 2020, my dad purged the house of any unhealthy snacks and stocked it full of veggies, fruits, oats and anything else I needed to eat right. Not just that, he changed his lifestyle, gave up on parathas & sweets, ate boiled vegetables with me and became my support system.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1772__
I have been on this journey many times over in my life already, but every time the fear of failure made me quit. This time my dad made sure that I knew that I had the support to fail and get back up. Many of us need that at the start!
Finally, Just Being A Super Dad Who Always Stood By My SideWe all love our dads, they will always be the guiding light we need in our lives. My dad is the same. Every time I got lazy or irritated with the process, he motivated me, when I cheated on my diet he scolded me & when I failed to see my achievements, he made sure to celebrate them.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1773__
To Wrap It UpSo, this Father’s Day, I decided to celebrate the selfless superhero that my dad is by not just giving him an amazing shaving kit, but also by making him proud & by achieving my goals. If you want to find a gift that shows your dad just how much you love him, just hop on to MensXP Shop because the Father’s Day sale has many curated products that he will actually use!

Recently, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar slid into the DMs of one of his social media critics and decided to have a one-on-one with him. Little did he know, that critic would go on to share the entire conversation online and the whole thing would simply blow up on Twitter.
I didn’t want to share this personal chat in public, even though it’s full to shit. But couldn’t help, coz ppl need to know this side of this man. @imjadeja would be proud of what he did to prove you wrong. @BCCI is this the kind of man you would want in your com panel in future? pic.twitter.com/AUjX301Foz
— soorya narayanan (@soorya_214) June 7, 2021
With a set of screenshots of the chat, he had with Manjrekar, Twitter user Soorya Narayanan expressed his dissent towards the cricketer-turned-analyst while further mentioning that this time around it was the ‘common man’ who blocked the celebrity.
In the chat, Manjrekar relives the infamous “bits and pieces” debacle against Ravindra Jadeja that had tainted his reputation as a cricket analyst in the eyes of the Indian viewers.
© Twitter/Soorya Narayanan
However, this time around, he went on to say that it was because “Jadeja does not know English” why he misinterpreted the “bits and pieces” comment, further adding that Jadeja’s frustrated response towards his comments was written by someone else on his behalf.
Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea.@sanjaymanjrekar

“Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar,” Jadeja had written from his Twitter account back then.
Now, let’s take a look at how Harsha Bhogle dealt with Ravindra Jadeja’s so-called “English problem” when he came across an awkward situation while interviewing after a match.
7️⃣7️⃣ runs
4️⃣ fours
4️⃣ sixes

— ICC (@ICC) July 11, 2019
It was in December 2019, and the Men in Blue had won a three-match ODI series against the touring West Indies and it was Jadeja and Shardul Thakur’s thunderous batting partnership which led to the winning runs for the team.
Bhogle asked Thakur about his ability to bat in English before taking his questions to Jadeja while shifting to Hindi. However, when the cricketer replied in English, Bhogle took no time in switching languages and the rest of the interview went smoothly.
Nonetheless, the ‘Voice of Indian Cricket’ still had to listen to some online criticism and it was his response to such criticism that made everyone fall in love with the man once again.
Okay, since I have been flooded with responses on this.... In a post match presentation, you always go in the language the player is most comfortable in. I've known Jadeja for 10 yrs now and so began in his language. The moment he indicated he was good to go in English, I shifted
