Watermelon is a summer fruit that is available aplenty around this time. And, there are so many ways you can relish this sweet and juicy fruit. 

For example, you can chop it and use it in a fruit salad or make a mocktail (or summer cocktail), the list goes on. 

However, we are sure you couldn’t have thought of having it as an appetiser, with a dip or tangy sauce.

If you are into weird food combos, you are going to love this one trend that’s been doing the rounds on the internet. Apparently, a food blogger Young Yuh shared a video where had a slice of watermelon with yellow mustard sauce, claiming it was “so good.”

Soon enough it went viral as a TikTok challenge and everyone was found chopping up a juicy watermelon and squeezing a generous amount of mustard sauce on it.  A lot of people tried it including celebrities like Hilary Duff and Lizzo.

The reactions are mostly mixed with some people finding it disgusting and others settling for “not bad”. An Instagram user who took the food challenge wrote,”Ok I did it. Not mad at it at all. The mustard took away the sweetness of the watermelon Try it.” Another reviewed the trend saying,  I tried it. I didn’t spit it out. I almost choked because the watermelon was juicy and then mustard tartness on top of that. Will I do again? I don’t know. It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t mind blowing.”

And then, there were some who were so disgusted by the idea, they said they wouldn't even try the combo. However, it doesn’t sound so bad. Watermelon is usually had with salt to cut it’s sweetness and add a tangy taste to it.

So, it can’t be that bad. Not as bad as ‘Maggi with chocolate’ or ‘gulab jamun pizza’ at least. Yes, that happened!
