    The US has formally removed Xiaomi from its trading blacklist as there were concerns that the Chinese company might be associated with the Chinese military. The US District Court for the District of Columbia issued a final order on the issue. The inclusion of Xiaomi in the trading blacklist would have prevented Americans from investing in the consumer tech giant.

    “Xiaomi (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that on May 25, 2021, at 4:09 pm (Eastern Standard Time), the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a final order vacating the U.S. Department of Defense’s designation of the Company as a “Communist Chinese Military Company” (CCMC). In vacating the designation, the court formally lifted all restrictions on U.S. persons’ ability to purchase or hold securities of the Company,” a company spokesperson told MensXP in a statement. 

    “The company is grateful for the trust and support of its global users, partners, employees and shareholders. The company reiterates that it is an open, transparent, publicly-traded, independently operated and managed corporation. The Company will continue to provide reliable consumer electronics products and services to users, and to relentlessly build amazing products with honest prices to let everyone in the world enjoy a better life through innovative technology,” the spokesperson added.
    In March 2021, the US court sided with the Chinese company and asked the Government to remove the ban. Both parties have now reached an agreement and the US government has withdrawn its move.

    This will be helpful for Xiaomi in a number of ways such as selling its products in the US without any barriers. It also lets Xiaomi source key components such as chipset and software licenses. 

    The US Government ordered the CCMC designation to Xiaomi earlier this year in January during Donald Trump’s last week in office. The decision has now been overturned by the Biden administration. Having said that, there is no word on whether the Biden administration is going to change its mind on sanctions targeting Huawei.

    The spiritual guru's recent controversial statements about allopathy being "a stupid science" have come back to haunt him with doctors in the country slamming him for his comments against modern medicine.

    In a video released on social media, Ramdev had said that medicines like Remdesivir, Fabiflu, and other DCGA approved drugs had failed to treat Covid-19 patients, while also claiming that lakhs of patients died due to allopathic medicines rather than a shortage of oxygen, which was a shocking crisis not so long ago.

    However, with doctors across the nation enraged by the statements, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Uttarakhand division has now sent a Rs 1000 crore defamation notice to the yoga guru.

    As per the notice, if Ramdev fails to post a video countering his earlier statements and tender a written apology within the next 15 days, then he will have to pay a sum of Rs 1000 crores.

    Seems like the spiritual guru, known for his immense flexibility in performing all kinds of asanas, will have to exercise some more to change his statements or else risk coughing up large chunks of money.

    Mallika Sherawat made her debut with a 2003 movie Khwahish but rose to recognition and fame after her stint in the crime thriller Murder alongside Emraan Hashmi. 
    The movie was a remake of Hollywood’s Unfaithful where Mallika played Simran, a married woman who has an extra marital affair with Hashmi’s character Sunny.

    Apart from the songs and gripping storyline, the film grabbed attention for its bold scenes which was not as common in cinema at the time.

    Mallika Sherawat was perceived as this sizzling, sexy actress on the block by some, while some “morally assassinated” her for doing such scenes.

    Speaking to an entertainment portal, she opened up about how she was typecast after the movie and seen as a fallen woman by the audience. 

    She said, “When I acted in Murder (2004), I was almost morally assassinated for those scenes I shot; I was seen as a fallen woman. Today, those things I did back then are common in our films. People’s perceptions have changed. Our cinema has changed.”

    It was, in fact, quite an unconventional role to play for Sherawat back in 2004. She went on to act in films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Welcome, and Double Dhamaal in the subsequent years of her career.

    She further added, “But even now, when I think of it, nothing beats the cinema of the 50s and 60s. We had wonderful roles for women, but we lack that beauty in our films in a big way. I have waited for years to get a role that has substance.”

    Murder completed 17 years which tagged Mallika Sherawat as a *** symbol. She has been a part of several films in her Bollywood trajectory, most of which shows her in a glamorous role.

    On playing different types of roles, she has said, “I want to play meaningful roles. I have missed doing that. People were approaching me for very glamorous roles, with a lot of money, but no soul in the character or meaning to it. It’s important to reinvent yourself after a period of time. If I do the same things that I have done before, you will only get vintage Mallika.”

    She will next be seen in Vishal Mishra’s horror film, Rosie: The Saffron Chapter alongside Arbaaz Khan. Whether she will break out of her glamorous tag in this movie, we are yet to find out.

    Ramdev knows how to stay in the headlines. That really doesn't mean that there are lessons to be learnt there, as unfortunately the saying 'any publicity is good publicity' more or less applies here. He has been giving controversial, and utterly worrisome statements left, right, and centre, and it looks like people have had it with him now.

    On Sunday, absconding wrestler Sushil Kumar, who was accused for the murder of 23-year old wrestler Sagar Rana, was finally captured by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell after intercepting his vehicle, getting him out of it and arresting him in the middle of a road, as the entire episode was conveniently captured on camera as evidence.

    Following the arrest, Kumar, who turns 38-years old today, was taken to the Model Town police station where he was questioned for four hours, during which he admitted that he had no intention of killing Rana and that all he wanted was to scare him.

    It was also reported that Kumar cried continuously while being questioned. He did not sleep the whole night and refused to eat anything as well.

    Recently, Delhi High Court lawyer Prashant Manchanda told Livehindustan that the two-time Olympic medallist is being charged with kidnapping, murder and criminal conspiracy and if proven guilty, he can be sentenced to a minimum of life imprisonment or even death penalty.

    The victim, Sagar Rana’s parents have urged for the harshest of punishment for Kumar and want to see him get not just capital punishment by the Indian judicial system, but all his accomplishments, medals, and various accolades to be snatched away from him as well.

    "We are hoping for justice. Where did he go when he was absconding, who gave him shelter, and most importantly the gangsters with whom he is connected to. He should be hanged so that people learn a lesson and think before killing his own pupil," said the father. 
    "Haryana and the BJP government did not speak two words of condolence after the death of Sagar. Sagar was a kid from Haryana BJP president Prakash Dhankad's local area but even he did not call," Rana’s maternal uncle also expressed his disappointment in the government for their lack of support toward the deceased and his family members.

    Salman Khan has now filed a defamation complaint in a Mumbai Court against actor Kamaal R Khan. This happened after Kamal R Khan reviewed Salman Khan’s recently released film Radhe.

    Kamaal Khan acknowledged the move and took to Twitter saying, “Salman Khan files a defamation case against me for Radhe’s review!"

    As per the notice, Salman Khan’s legal team will take the matter for an urgent hearing before an additional session judge of the city civil court. 
    The film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was released and opened to poor reviews, however, the film was streamed millions of times on ZeePlex. 
    Earlier, trade analyst Komal Nahta also said in a new video that the fan estimated figure of ₹100 crore opening day revenue is inaccurate. Also, this estimate was only made based on data shared by Zee Studios. According to the data, the film has been streamed over 4.2 million times across all platforms on the day of release.

    He said there are multiple reasons why the revenue is much less than Rs 100 crores. Komal said that the actual number of tickets purchased is much lesser, as every ticket worth Rs 249 is shared by multiple members of the same family.
