People often find social media platforms more convenient to troll, bully and insult someone because it's the easiest way to say what you want without any confrontation.

However, have you ever wondered what’s the worst thing that could happen to you if you are being rude or insulting someone on a messaging app?

This UAE man found the answer to this question the hard (and quite an expensive) way.

He hurt a woman’s feelings by accusing her of befriending and seducing other men over Whatsapp text.
He had also accused her of sending inappropriate pictures to other men and allegedly said in one of the texts, “Shame on you and your upbringing.”
    © iStock
The woman went to court and demanded a compensation of 100000 dirhams (INR 19 lakh) for all the humiliation and mental trauma she suffered because of him.

She said she received text messages from him accusing her of having relationships with multiple men.
    © iStock
The Al Ain Court of First Instance found the man guilty of hurting her feelings and reputation via texts and ordered him to pay a compensation of 20,000 dirhams which equates to approx. 3.95 lakh INR.

He was also asked to cover her legal charges incurred in the case along with the compensation amount.

The defendant had requested the court to reject her plea claiming that she owed him 39000 dirhams and this lawsuit was a stint to negotiate the amount.

However, seeing the evidence, the court convicted him in the criminal case of causing moral damage and insulting the woman, which is an unlawful act.

However bizarre it sounds, this isn’t strange for UAE courts and this is certainly not the first case where a person has been ordered to compensate someone for insult. Prior to this, people have been charged with a hefty amount of money for insulting someone via audio clips and texts in the past.

After the huge success of Kevin Feige's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there had been a tremendous amount of pressure on the DC superhero universe to bring something similar to the fore.
But Warner Bros. is used to dealing with such pressures and responded in an emphatic fashion with movies ranging from Man of Steel, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Shazam and Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman standalone film.

While the world has seen a swarm of superhero movies in the last decade or two, fans can never get enough, and they will get exactly what they want.

Warner Bros. roped in one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to play the role of anti-hero Black Adam in DC's upcoming Black Adam film.

He is said to be Billy Batson AKA Shazam's main villain after he acquires the same powers that Shazam has from the ancient wizard but chooses to use them for revenge.

In a warning to people in relationships all across the world, an expert has said that a rare celestial event known as the Super Flower Blood Moon possesses the power to cause breakups and make people 'act crazily.'
    © iStock
The rare Super Flower Blood Moon is a combination of the super flower moon and a lunar eclipse that makes our closest celestial object in the cosmos not only appear to be very near but also orange and red in colour.

    © iStock
With both the Super Blood Moon and the Lunar Eclipse occurring on Wednesday (May 26), the opportunity of encountering a glowing red moon in the deep blue night sky is a spectacular one.

However, Australian astrologer and spiritual adviser, Rose Smith has said the idea may not be a great one for people who love their partners. "A lot of relationships are going to break up in this period - all signs, everybody will be affected - but fire signs will bear the brunt of it. There's going to be a great push for Sagittarians and other fire signs to get rid of toxic situations and relationships," said Smith.
With the moon appearing to be red due to the lunar eclipse, the event is said to affect fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius more than any other sign.
Smith says the moon's movements through space during the event will make women more 'emotional' and will lead to more tension.
    © iStock
"Full moons ordinarily can bring out the 'crazy' in people, but we can expect people doing crazier things than usual - and this can be attributed to pent-up emotional tension," said Smith.

She added that people, especially women should focus on not holding back any emotions during the time. "People should be trying to release this tension around the Super Blood Moon in healthy ways, sitting with their feelings and endeavoring not to deny them," said Smith.

Ever since the deadly second wave of COVID hit India, celebrities and influencers proved to be our saviors by amplifying all our requests regarding life saving drugs and equipment. While the administration collapsed, Instagram and Twitter proved to be the lifelines for millions. Thankfully, it still continues and thousands of lives are still saved on a daily basis.

    via GIPHY
While it's a noble deed, the internet, after all, is a treacherous terrain where everyone needs to be careful at all times. Trolls are aplenty, and all they need is a moment's worth of indiscretion to drag you down. Their latest victim proved to be Swara Bhasker. Swara ended up amplifying an SOS request for a drug, that she clearly thought was COVID related and possibly a life-saving one.
    © Twitter/Swara Bhasker
Unfortunately, that was not the case, and the requested medicine, it turns out, was a Viagra - something that is used to treat male sexual function problems (impotence or erectile dysfunction).

While it clearly was an honest mistake (let's not pretend all of us knew what it is till now), some people were not having it.

    — Hemu Vikramaditya (@hemu_hv) May 26, 2021 However, others were more understanding and did call out the troll on the prank.
This guy is playing a dirty prank kindly report it. Sildenafil citrate, dude seriously if someone isn't from a medical field then you will do some crappy pranks?? Woke up , this isn't a time for this.
    — Shayan Ansari (@Shayanansari619) May 26, 2021Every responsible citizen is trying to fulfill their moral responsibility in this Pandemic.
Swara did the same by using her influence in good interest, not all of us here can be medicine experts.
People trolling & doing such pranks should know the graveness of the situation. pic.twitter.com/6WtuYumoWH
    — Rais Shaikh (@rais_shk) May 26, 2021 There were others, however, who defended the usage of the drug in COVID-related complications.

A robbery usually involves threatening, verbal abuse and in the worst cases, even violence. But apparently not when you are in Pakistan.  A video of a robbery that took place in a shop in Pakistan earlier this year is going viral on social media and the reason will make you ROFL.
    © istock
In the video, there is no aggression or extortion to be seen, but a polite conversation between the shopkeeper and the masked robbers.

The heartfelt exchange of dialogue between a shopkeeper and the robber is making people applaud the ‘shareef chor’. Not only he left the change of Rs 10-20 at the shopkeeper’s request but also promised to not come back.
    © Instagram/Manoj Mehta
In the video, the robber can be seen taking things from the compartments when he asks, “Bade note kaha hain”. To this, the shopkeeper replies, “Abhi kuch hua hi kahan apney pass kaam he kahan hota hai!”. The robber replied, “Hamare paas bhi nai hai yaar, hum to majburi me kar rhe.”

The shopkeeper then requests them to leave at least some change, “10-20 to rehne du na” and the robbers, being totally understanding, obliged to the request. “Haan rehne do”
In the end, the shopkeeper says, “acha le jao, fir se mat ana bhai” and the robber said, “Inshallah fir ni ayenge. If this isn’t the most wholesome conversation ever between a robber and a robbery victim, we don’t know what is.

Manoj Mehta who regularly shares videos and photos of funny tweets and 'desi' posts shared this video on his account. Prior to this, his series of Pakistani Uber chats also went viral where he posted screenshots shared by customers who got blunt and brutally honest replies from the drivers.

The comment section of video is filled with surprised netizens who are stunned at the robbers’ humanity and shopkeeper’s innocence. A user wrote, “My favourite kinda chor are the chor with ethics !” Another wrote, “Haha.. so.laid back also.. making small talk and all.” A user commented, He literally gave 10-20 rs back.”

Chori bhi tameez se kar raha hai.

The robbers complying to the shopkeeper’s requests and both having a heart-to-heart is not something we see everyday and it’s sure commendable. While what they did was wrong, they didn’t hurt the owner or even threatened him which say a lot about him. As a user said, he was an ‘ethical chor’.

He then goes on to say, "Mayawati was walking along the street with two kids, boys. There was a man who asked her, 'Are they twins?'. She says, 'No. He is four. He is eight'. The man says, 'I can't believe someone has been there twice.”

CPIML Politburo leader Kavita Krishnan also took to social media and shared the video, and criticized the video for being casteist and misogynist.
She tweeted saying, "Not a "joke" @RandeepHooda . You notice no one makes "jokes" saying a male politician is too ugly to f***? You are doing what casteist, misogynist, insecure turds do when confronted with women whose strength they fear: attack the woman as unattractive."
Here’s what people have to say about this-
    This is beyond disgusting.
    — Anindita Sengupta (@Anu_Sengupta) May 25, 2021Both the joke and the laughter are sickening.

Pay attention to the laughter too, the space and history that makes it possible to say shit like this
    — Amit Erandole (@amit_tushar) May 25, 2021Horrible. Distasteful. Disgusting. And people are laughing. That's worst.

    But then all are complicit.
    — Maze Runner (@maze_awara) May 25, 2021People can't digest success of mayavati that too in the field of politics which is dominated by upper caste male. Being a dalit woman her success is epitome of women empowerment.

Paras Singh, a YouTuber who goes by the name Paras Official has been accused of making racial remarks. He posted a video on Sunday on his channel and called Arunachal Pradesh's Congress MLA Ninong Ering, a 'non-Indian'. He also claimed that the 'state was a part of China.'
    © YouTube/Paras Official
The YouTuber was triggered by Ering, as the MLA wrote a letter to PM Modi, asking for a ban on the Indian version of the PUBG Battlegrounds game in India. This later sparked an outcry of anger amongst Arunachal Pradesh's people and other places of the country.

Actor Varun Dhawan also took to Instagram and spoke about the comments made on the MLA. He shared the image on his Instagram story and wrote, "Having spent so much time in Arunachal Pradesh, it is time we educate ourselves and others about how wrong this is."
    © Instagram/Amar Kaushik
Paras was arrested on Tuesday in Ludhiana for making such racist remarks. Amar Kaushik, the filmmaker of some impeccable movies like Stree and Bala, was the first one to criticise the comment made by Paras. He wrote, "Being ignorant about your country and its region is stupidity in itself, but when that ignorance is expressed in an offensive manner, it becomes toxic. We all need to call out and condemn such ignorance in one voice and make all idiots understand that IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ANYMORE,"

Varun recently shot in Amar Kaushik's upcoming movie Bhediya in Arunachal Pradesh. Even Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao criticised the YouTuber.

Kriti also took to Instagram and mentioned how people should start respecting their country and have equal respect for every region. The actress later thanked Amar in her post.

Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh spoke about the racial slur and said, "video aims at inciting ill will and hatred towards the people of Arunachal Pradesh".

On the work front, Varun and Kriti wrapped up shooting for Bhediya. The film is an addition to the director Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy genre.

The iPhone 12 series launched last year at a time when the entire world was under lockdown. However, that did not stop the smartphone from becoming the highest-selling device right up until now. A new report by Counterpoint Research reveals that global smartphone revenue topped $100 million and most of it was dominated by the iPhone 12.
    © Unsplash/akhil-yerabati
“Global smartphone segment clocked a record first-quarter wholesale shipment revenues of $113 billion, up 35% YoY,” said Counterpoint senior analyst Harmeet Singh Walia in a press release. “This is coming at a time when the industry was facing supply chain constraints. Apple captured a record first-quarter revenue share driven by the strong performance of the iPhone 12 Series and demand spill-over from the previous quarter due to delayed launch,” Walia added.

According to the report, the iPhone 12 dominated the competition both in terms of volume share and revenue share in the first quarter of 2021. The iPhone 12 was the best selling smartphone and captured 5% of the total market. The iPhone 12 Pro Max was the second smartphone to dominate the list by capturing 4% of the market. The iPhone 11 and Redmi 9A are currently tied for the fourth position while no other device topped 1%.
    © Unsplash/frederik-lipfert
Higher priced smartphones were more popular in some regions while budget smartphones were popular in Asian countries. iPhone 11 and iPhone SE were the only two models on the list that do not have 5G connectivity. In terms of flagship devices, the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G were amongst the most popular models by Apple and Samsung respectively.

    © Unsplash/denis-cherkashin
“Unlike the revenue list, the volume list also features devices from the affordable segment,” research analyst Varun Mishra wrote. “The volumes for the Redmi 9A were driven by its strong performance in China and India, while the Redmi 9 performed well in the South East Asian market. The strong performance of the Redmi 9A, Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 helped Xiaomi maintain its pole position in the sub-$150 price band globally, capturing a 19% share in the segment,” Mishra added.

Had Twitter been banned in India this week, the one thing that most of us would have definitely missed the most would have been the witty tweets that we get to see from the Mumbai Police.
