While the world is grappling with the adverse effects of the pandemic, there are some people who are making things worse than they already are. Remember the time when a man from Florida blew Covid-19 relief funds in July 2020 to buy himself a Lamborghini? Looks like history does repeat itself, as another similar incident took place wherein a man identified as Mustafa Qadiri, used the PPP loans to buy himself a Lamborghini Aventador S and a Ferrari 458 Italia. That's not it as the seized assets also had a Bentley Continental GT Coupe. Let that sink in!

The 38-year-old man, who lives in Southern California, had been procuring millions of dollars from the government aid which was made to let the small businesses strive amid the pandemic. It is reported that Mustafa obtained at least $5 million from the Federal Covid relief funds fraudulently and was arrested last week for the same.

He has been slapped with several charges including wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, money laundering and bank fraud. According to reports, Qadiri submitted fake loan applications from banks that were non-existent. Morever, the papers included fake tax returns, forged bank records etc. He also used some other name and social security number to get the loans.
Mustafa was arrested last week and pleaded not guilty to the charges imposed on him. Besides seizing the expensive cars, the remaining $2 million has also been seized from his account. The US District Judge Josephine L. Staton has now scheduled a trial for this case on June 29. Qadiri has been released with a bond of $100,000.

The Paycheck Protection Program came into effect in March 2020. It granted low-interest loans to businesses that employed 500 or fewer employees. The U.S Small Business Administration mentioned that at least 8.2 million loans had been given up until March 21 of at least $718 billion.

Here's how the people reacted to this fraudulent act.
Thank you for your hard work on this case. This level of greed and hubris makes me sick. Think of who could have truly used these funds.
Oh yeah, he got a PPP loan. Hope he needs it in prison. ***** Protection Plan.

β€” asshole mirror (@NormaltonJim) May 9, 2021They should be investigating the chain of command who approved these β€œloans”.

Israel and Palestine have been at loggerheads for decades. Since the end of World War 2, the whole world has witnessed the bitter struggle between Israelis and Palestinians. The recent violence that began as clashes has now escalated into rockets and airstrikes from both sides. The core issue is Israel's attempt to limit gatherings at Al-Aqsa and a dispute over land ownership in Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem.
The religious site is equally important for Muslims and Jews who address it as Temple Mount. The recent clashes erupted after Israeli Police, on April 12, prevented people from gathering at the Damascus Gate Plaza in East Jerusalem that's under Israel's control. The Damascus Gate Plaza has been a popular gathering place for Palestinian Muslims during the month of Ramzan. It escalated when, on April 16, Israel imposed a limit of only 10,000 people who can pray at Al-Aqsa, and thousands of Palestinians were sent back.
Everyone is sharing their opinions on social media over the recent clashes and taking sides. Just recently, Indian actor Swara Bhasker also shared her opinions which landed her in troubled waters. Swara sided with Palestinians and called Israel a terrorist state. She tweeted, β€œIsrael is an apartheid state. Israel is a terrorist state. Nuff said. #AlAqsa #FreePalestine.”

In another tweet, she wrote, β€œThe cause of #Palestine and justice for Palestinians isn’t an Islamic cause.. at least it shouldn’t solely be that.. it is first & foremost an anti-imperialist, anti-colonial & anti-apartheid cause.. & that’s why it should concern us all, even non-Muslims. #FreePalestine #AlAqsa”

She started to face backlash for her tweets and it all kinda blew up after her latest tweet. She wrote, β€œDear Israel... If the Indian right-wing is supporting you... you know you are doing something wrong! Damn wrong. #IndiaWithIsrael #FreePalestine.”

Her tweets have offended many people who are siding by Israel and they are trolling her left, right and centre. People called her dumb and felt that she has no knowledge about the conflict and she is just tweeting to be in the news while a few addressed her as a silent terrorist.

    Here are the reactions:

A London-based Goldman Sachs director quit his job after reportedly making millions from investing in Dogecoin. Dogecoin started as a meme cryptocurrency that has increased in value by 10,000 percent just in 2021.Β

Aziz McMahon was the head of emerging market sales at the investment banking firm and resigned after he amassed millions by investing in the joke digital currency. The meteoric growth of Dogecoin surpassed any other cryptocurrency this year and it now has a market capitalisation of $65.8bn. That’s bigger than Twitter, Ford and other Fortune 500 companies. Dogecoin’s value rose from $0.0054 at the start of the year to $0.515 on Tuesday. Early buyers of the digital currency have amassed small fortunes including one anonymous owner with a stake thought to be worth more than $2bn.Β

McMahon is now planning to open a hedge fund with the cash he earned according to efinancialcareers. As of now, it is unclear how much money Aziz earned from Dogecoin but it’s certain that he was comfortable quitting his high paying investment banking job. Aziz had been an investment banker for 14 years before his resignation.Β
It is believed Aziz earned the returns using his own money from his personal account and was not involved in trading the cryptocurrency for Goldman Sachs.Β

Dogecoin also became Tesla chief executive Elon Musk’s favourite digital asset who refers to himself as the β€œDogefather". Dogecoin was created by former Adobe and IBM software engineers who made the cryptocurrency in reference to a popular internet meme featuring the Shiba Inu dog breed. As of now, there is no limit on the number of Dogecoins that can be mined.Β

Some investors also believe that cryptocurrency could offer protection against inflation but could also be eroded as global economic growth accelerates after nations have started to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.Β
