Cricket Australia, the governing body of cricket Down Under, recently announced a donation worth AUD 50,000 towards combating the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India.
“Australians and Indians share a special bond and, for many, our mutual love of cricket is central to that friendship,” CA’s interim chief executive Nick Hockley said. “We were all deeply moved by the sentiments expressed and donations given by Pat Cummins and Brett Lee over the past week.”

"In that same spirit, we are proud to partner with UNICEF Australia to raise funds that will help the people of India by providing the health system with much needed oxygen, testing equipment and vaccines,” Hockley added.
After Australian pacer Pat Cummins donated the same amount last week and the legendary Brett Lee donated one bitcoin worth of amount (approximately Rs. 44 lakh) for the same cause, this contribution by the Australian cricket board would surely go a long way towards helping the cause.

The practice of donations is supposed to be completely voluntary and to criticise or judge someone based on how much they have donated, simply sounds pathetic and out right silly. Still, as the country struggles to breathe, there are some social elements who are more interested in how much someone has donated, what currency did they donate in, and worst of all, why did they not donate more.

    — Vicky Yadav🇮🇳 (@jacksapprow007) May 3, 2021This toxicity towards those who “wish to” help up and are in no way obligated to spend a single money on this crisis simply because they have nothing to do, is clearly going out of hand.
It is unfortunate that such behaviour is not restricted to large organisations but to individual players as well. Last week after Cummins’ donation, many Indian cricket “fans” started comparing the Australian’s philanthropy with that of the Indian captain Virat Kohli.
Kohli was called out on social media constantly for not making any contributions towards the second wave of the coronavirus, while the massive Rs. 3 crore donation made by his wife Anushka Sharma and him during the first wave, was simply and very conveniently forgotten.
What gives us the right to tell someone how much they should donate towards a cause? When someone asks us to do the same, we give the typical “we are from the middle class and this is all we can do” response to save face.

One day after being stripped off as the captain of SunRisers Hyderabad, it was confirmed that Australian batsman David Warner was dropped from the Playing XI of the franchise ahead of the match against Rajasthan Royals at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
During the match, the cameramen were constantly turning towards the demoted athlete time and again only to capture just how dedicated and connected he was to the game.
He could be seen running to the boundary ropes to throw the ball back in and he could be seen pouring energy drinks from one container to another, while sitting next to some of the other benched players.
David Warner happily collecting balls running here and there outside the fence and throwing inside instead of sitting in the dugout. He's so passionate about involving himself in the game, hard days for him. pic.twitter.com/WQ2uCn1A0T

What he was not seen doing was sulking in a corner after the way in which he was managed by the franchise, the same franchise he had led to their one and only championship in 2016.
Warner is their best captain they lost matches because of their middle order not picking a good and blaming Warner pic.twitter.com/fJ0pyKl89A

Some of the fans were simply unable to imagine how the team could take away his captaincy and drop him from the team within a couple of days, despite his legacy as clearly one of their best opening batsmen ever.
I hope SRH loses all remaining games they play without Warner, it’ll make them realise how essential Warner is to them.

David warner nd kane Williamson both deserves to be in playing xi.
Dropping warner is disappointing.@SunRisers instead make middle order better, who can score

And yet, there are others who, instead of feeling sad for the Aussie legend, complimented him on his love and dedication towards the game of cricket that allowed him to be equally active on the sidelines and support his teammates all the same.
You just can't keep Warner away form the game of cricket

Warner gave his heart out for SRH

Under Warner’s captaincy, the Hyderabad side had played a total of six matches out of which they managed to steal just one victory against Punjab Kings back at Chennai’s Chepauk stadium. However, the five losses under his record pushed the franchise to the very bottom of the IPL Points Table.
"I take full responsibility. The way that I batted was obviously very slow," Warner had said after losing the match to Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.
"I was hitting a lot of fielders and [was] very, very frustrated... Look, I take full responsibility from a batting point of view. I felt [that with] Manish [Pandey] coming back into the team, the way that he batted was exceptional. And obviously Kane [Williamson] and Kedar [Jadhav] towards the back end there, they put some boundaries away and got us to a respectable total. I felt that we were probably just below par from where we were. But yeah look, at the end of the day, I'll take full responsibility," he had added.
When all the hopes were down, he was the biggest hope for SRH and won matches single-handedly from nowhere. Still get left out of the team for two bad games despite carrying the team throughout their history.

It's the loss of SRH, not Warner. #NoWarnerNoSRH pic.twitter.com/0ItfCfsIls

Shortly after, Warner’s role as the skipper was given to New Zealand captain Kane Williamson who has also shown some great leadership and is an excellent cricketer without a doubt and a majority of SRH fans would agree that the transfer of captaincy may be a good option.
What they do not agree with Warner’s complete departure from the main roster.
