India has been dealing with the second wave of the novel Coronavirus and people have been succumbing to it mostly because of the lack of basic medical facilities.
People on social media have been calling out the authorities as they are helpless and can’t save their own loved ones who are infected with the virus.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Samir Soni took to Instagram to bash those who have been criticizing the country amid COVID-19.
“Straight from my heart!!!,” Samir wrote, “Fed-up of this worldwide India bashing and some Indians actually taking pleasure in it. I love my country and stand by it, through thick and thin. And shame on all you ‘myseryporn’ peddlers, you'll probably sell your own family for sake of ‘Headlines’ or ‘Breaking News’,” his Instagram post read.

After his Instagram post started to get traction, people started to slam him and reminded him of the ground reality.
They also said that no one is bashing the country but instead calling out authorities who have failed to help many innocent lives.

A while back, Soni had taken a break from social media.
“Good luck, you fine young people, it’s au revoir from Uncle Sam”. Along with the caption, he also shared a close-up picture of himself with a message that read, ‘The more Instagram posts I see, the more I feel like a dinosaur on the verge of extinction,” his post read.

Talking about the social media pressure on oneself, he told HT, “There’s a need to continuously showcase your life out there — everyone’s exercising, dancing, taking up challenges. It makes one believe one is so happy, lovely, and smiling all the time. I think it’s peer pressure, as one person is doing it and the next person follows. Initially, it was fun to watch but now it feels like there’s a competition, which can be harmful, as you start to question yourself.”
On the work front, he was most recently seen in Sanjay Gupta’s gangster drama Mumbai Saga. The film got a theatrical release last month but didn’t work well at the box office.
Meanwhile, amidst the devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, India reported 3,92,488 fresh coronavirus cases and over 3,689 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

Rumours of new Samsung foldable phones have persisted all year long and it’s probably the first time we might be getting a good look at this year’s models. The company has not announced any plans of new foldable devices officially, however new leaks show the upcoming devices in all their glory. Having said that, we have not verified the source of these leaked images yet but it looks like it might be from a promotional video by Samsung.

It has been long rumoured that Samsung is expected to shut the Galaxy Note series this year and instead offer S Pen support on its foldable smartphones. This could be the answer we’ve been looking for as the screenshot shows how the S Pen could be used. In the image, we see a person attending a video conferencing call while working on a Microsoft Sheet file at the same time. The person is using the second display to work on a document while also attending a work call by keeping the device in a half-folded state.

On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged IIT Kanpur and various other tech institutions in the country to look for ways to convert Nitrogen into Oxygen.
From his official Twitter handle, the UP CM wrote:

“The CM on Saturday said, the government should explore all possibilities of raising oxygen supply and look for alternatives. Officials should get in touch with experts from IIT Kanpur and other technical institutes and look at the possibility of converting nitrogen to oxygen,” said a government spokesperson.
Here’s how most people reacted to the way out suggested by the Bharatiya Janata Party member on social media:

From today nitrogen will be renamed as oxygen
No need of scientists for working on conversion of nitrogen to oxygen
— professor (@Profess78167383) May 2, 2021Why stop at nitrogen? Why not convert all elements into oxygen?!
What an embarrassment, this uneducated lot! https://t.co/BrA6kJTahk
— Neelima Vallangi (@NVallangi) May 2, 2021CM Adityanath wants to explore the possibility of converting nitrogen to oxygen.
It's so simple, just give two bags of rice to nitrogen & it'll convert with the whole periodic table.

— PЯΞ (@PrezzVerde) May 2, 2021Although, to be fair to the UP Chief Minister, IIT Bombay recently tried to create gaseous oxygen by using the existing Nitrogen Plant setup. According to Free Press Journal, these nitrogen plants consume atmospheric air as raw material. If IIT Bombay’s pilot project is successful, it may have the potential to convert these plants into oxygen generators and ensure a constant supply during the on-going COVID-19 crisis in the country.
Just a day after the BJP minister’s quick fix advice, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut presented the world with yet another problem, this time about the issue of forcefully taking oxygen from the environment to supply to the struggling people of the country.
In a thread of tweets, the actor wrote:
"Everybody is building more and more oxygen plants, getting tons and tons of oxygen cylinders, how are we compensating for all the oxygen that we are forcefully drawing from the environment? It seems we learnt nothing from our mistakes and catastrophes they cause #PlantTrees."

"Along with announcing more and more oxygen for humans, governments must announce relief for nature also, people who are using this oxygen should also pledge to work on improving the air quality, for how long we going to be miserable pests only taking never giving back to nature?"

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage on in India with almost 4 lakh positive cases being reported on a daily basis, things are turning out to be worse for a lot of Australians cricketers who flew to country for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League but now wish to leave the tournament and return home to their families and loved ones.
Back in April, it was confirmed that the numerous Australian cricketers including Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson wanted to fly back to their home country due to reasons such as bio-bubble fatigue and the risk to their health given the rampant COVID-19 outbreak in India.
Official Announcment:
Adam Zampa & Kane Richardson are returning to Australia for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of #IPL2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore management respects their decision and offers them complete support.#PlayBold #WeAreChallengers pic.twitter.com/NfzIOW5Pwl
— Royal Challengers Bangalore (@RCBTweets) April 26, 2021
However, the Australian government had established that since the cricketers had gone to play franchise cricket and were not on national duty, the country would not make arrangements for their travel and that they would have to make their plans on their own. So, Zampa and Richardson found a loophole in the travel plans and reached Melbourne via Doha.
With the hopes of corking such issues, Australia has shut down such loopholes and others including Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and has now made it illegal for their own cricketers to return home.

Australia's Health Minister Greg Hunt in a statement said, "The government does not make these decisions lightly. However, it is critical the integrity of the Australian public health and quarantine systems is protected and the number of COVID-19 cases in quarantine facilities is reduced to a manageable level."
"Failure to comply with an emergency determination under the Biosecurity Act, 2015 may incur a civil penalty of 300 penalty units, five years' imprisonment or both. The CMO will consider the epidemiology in India and likely impacts on Australia's quarantine capacity, and provide a further expert assessment of the public health risk to Australia to inform a proportionate response,” the statement further said.
After nine straight days of 300,000+ Covid cases daily, India has now moved 400,00+. The US has banned travel from India; Australia will jail for 5 years if someone arrives from India. Only 7million had gone to Haridwar's Kumbh Mela in Apil to take a dip in the Ganges.

According to media reports, 34 members of the Australian cricket community are in India at the moment which includes 12 players, 11 members of the coaching staff, four commentators, two umpires and five support staff members.
Some of the big names include players like Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, and David Warner while legends such as Ricky Ponting and David Hussey are involved in the coaching department.

In a recent report it as been confirmed that two members of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise, namely Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found COVID-positive and as a result their teammates, including Pat Cummins remain in isolation. Their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore has been rescheduled as well.
