It was just last week when a senior Indian Administrative Service officer in Tripura was seen aggressively roughing people up, who violated covid-19 rules at a wedding.
In a short clip, West Tripura District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar Yadav was seen asking the people to leave marriage halls in a belligerent manner.
He was seen pushing people violently, holding by their necks and clothes.
Shame. This is not the way Mr DM. Your arrogance is a sign of ego. You need to be firm but polite pic.twitter.com/o6aHChTqvL
— Supriya Sahu IAS (@supriyasahuias) April 28, 2021
A lockdown came into effect due to the rising cases in Tripura, and the administration announced a curfew from 10 pm to 5 am. Since many people violated the curfew, around 31 people, including 19 women were detained.
After the video went viral, many people took to social media and called the officer's behaviour unprofessional.
He later took the opportunity to apologise to anyone who got hurt, because of his actions.
He told media outlets the next day, "I apologise if any individual or group is pained by last night's action. But what was done last night was only for the benefit and well being of people. My aim was not to pain or humiliate anyone."

In the recent turn of events though, the West Tripura DM has now been removed from his post, after his request.
As per reports, it is said that Shailesh Kumar Yadav, wrote a letter to Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar asking him to release him from the duty of being a DM of West Tripura.
This came after an inquiry was being conducted after he abused the guests at the wedding and behaved violently.
Mr Yadav's letter read “The Government of Tripura has constituted a high-level Enquiry Committee to enquire into incidents which happened on the night of 26th April 2021 during marriage ceremonies being held in violation of Corona Night Curfew at Manikya Court & Golap Bagan, Agartala. In the interest of an impartial enquiry, I request for relinquishment of my charge as DM & Collector West Tripura District.”
After that, the State Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath along with the cabinet spokesperson received the letter, they confirmed that they released Mr Yadav from his duties. Post that, Ravel Hamendra Kumar who happens to be the director of industries and commerce, was hired as the DM of West Tripura.
What is your take on this incident? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s not easy to talk about ***, especially if you’re grappling with insecurities.
For the longest time, erectile dysfunction was ascribed to psychological origins. Most ancient cultures, including Ayurveda, believed that ED can be treated with the help of natural herbs such as Indian ginseng, sesame powder, Safed Musli and more.
Today, we know more about its causes and have treatments to address the issue. But before we talk about eliminating the condition, we need to dispel the stigma associated with ED.
Studies have clarified that ED is not just “in your head”. According to a 2017 study by the Department of Urology Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, 20% of men across all age groups battle ED in India and 30% of them are younger than 40.
Most of the times, it is experienced due to an underlying cause that can be treated.
But no cure is possible until men accept the problem and stop shying away from asking for help.
What Is Erectile Dysfunction? © iStock
Erectile Dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is a condition in which a man experiences difficulty in getting or maintaining an erection during sexual performance.
The symptoms may also include reduced sexual desire or libido. If the condition lasts for more than a few weeks or months, your doctor is likely to diagnose you with ED.
Signs Of Erectile DysfunctionEvery piece of the body including your emotions, hormones, brain, nerves, muscles and blood vessels play an intricate role in male arousal. When any of these isn’t aligned, it results in some kind of dysfunction.
Your mental health impacts your sexual ability equally. Stress, anxiety and other mental health concerns can worsen erectile dysfunction.
Experiencing minor or occasional sexual problems don’t necessarily mean you’re dealing with erectile dysfunction. But lookout for the consistency of these symptoms.
● Reduced or no desire for ***. ● Inability to get an erection.
● Inability to maintain an erection.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1026__
Who Is At The Risk? The risk of ED increases as you age, especially if you have lived a sedentary lifestyle. It can worsen if you:
● Have a psychological condition like anxiety, depression or stress.
● Have an injury that might damage the nerves and arteries that contribute to erections.
● Use tobacco, drugs or alcohol.
● Are overweight.
● Are undergoing radiation treatment for cancer.
● Are taking antidepressants or high blood pressure medications.
● Have heart disease or diabetes.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1316__
How To Prevent Erectile DysfunctionThe healthier you are, the easier it’ll be to fight erectile dysfunction. There’s no one-size-fits-all way to prevent ED but you can avoid persistent problems by taking care of its causes and yourself. The following measures may help:
● Reduce stress.
● Take care of your mental health.
● Exercise daily.
● Limit alcohol consumption.
● Quit smoking and stop using recreational drugs.
● Manage diabetes and heart disease.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1465__
How Can You Treat Erectile DysfunctionThe causes of ED vary and so does the treatment. Work with your doctor to create a plan that’s best for you.
CounsellingIf you feel anxious, depressed or have any other mental health concern, seek therapy. Along with consulting a professional, indulge in relaxing activities such as music, painting, poetry or aromatherapy. Geranium oil helps those with low libido.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1466__
Ayurveda to the rescueIt’s not feasible for everyone to collect and consume the recommended herbs for sexual wellness. But you can always rely on natural supplements that provide men with the right nutrients optimised for better and stronger erections.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1436__
Lifestyle changesManage weight, exercise or do yoga consistently, stop smoking, avoid alcohol and illicit drugs and manage your health with the help of a doctor.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1297__
Prescribed medicationIf the above treatments don’t work, your doctor may prescribe oral medications—like Viagra, Levitra, Aronix, Tadalafil, Stendra and Cialis, self-injection such as an Alprostadil or testosterone replacement.
Physical treatments***** pump or penile implants. However, these aren’t generally considered until every other treatment has failed.
Final ThoughtsRecognise the symptoms and consult a professional. If you’re diagnosed with erectile dysfunction, your doctor will help you figure out the cause of ED.
Work on the treatment options and before you know it, you’ll start seeing the results.

Samsung has pledged USD 5 million (INR 37 Crores) towards India’s fight against COVID-19 in India. The South Korean giant will be providing donation both in the form of monetary means and will be flying in essential medical equipment required to fight the sudden surge of cases. The donations are expected to boost the efforts of the government and the healthcare sector with essential medical equipment for hospitals, as part of its citizenship initiatives.
Samsung said in a press release that the decision was “taken after due consultations with various stakeholders in India and assessing the immediate needs of local administrations.”
Samsung will be donating USD 3 million to the Centre as well as to the states of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Samsung will also be airlifting USD 2 million worth of medical supplies that will include 100 oxygen concentrators, 3,000 oxygen cylinders and one million LDS syringes to the two states.

LDS or Low Dead Space syringes have become essential medical equipment as this particular type of syringe has demonstrated up to 20% greater efficiency. The new syringe technology minimises the amount of drug left after injection.
The South Korean company will also be covering the vaccination costs of over 50,00 employees and beneficiaries in India. The program will also extend to Samsung Experience Consultants, who work at electronics retail stores across the country.
This is not the first time Samsung has contributed to India’s fight against COVID-19. Last year, the company donated INR 20 crore to the Central government and support to the local administration in Noida. The company helped hospitals with medical equipment such as Preventive Masks and Personal Preventive Equipment (PPE) kits as well.

On a separate occasion, Samsung employees also contributed Rs 1 Crore from their salaries last year to help with the cause.

Back in 2019, we had no idea what the future had in store for us. We dealt with the first phase of COVID-19 in 2020 with some amount of success.
Cut to 2021, and we are struggling severely with the second wave of Coronavirus and people are helpless as the health care system seems to have collapsed.
© Reuters
It’s getting more and more difficult for people as they are even unable to arrange for oxygen for their loved ones. The visuals of the crematorium are terrifying and it’s a clear result of the government’s lack of vision.
When things were collapsing, many NGOs came to the forefront and became the pioneers in India’s fight against the pandemic.
One such organization at the forefront is the Hemkunt Foundation that is based in Gurugram. Despite limited resources, the owners decided to come forward to help those who are in need as pandemic has been claiming many lives.
From oxygen cylinders to providing food, the foundation has been putting its best foot forward in order to serve those in need.
© Reuters
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Harteerath Singh, whose family runs the NGO spoke about how the organisation was created and how even before the pandemic, they have been trying to make differences in people’s lives who are in need.
He said, “In 2013 when I was trekking to Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib with my family, a cloudburst hit us. For a week, I was stuck in Uttarakhand without food or shelter; I was traumatized by the deaths I saw. Finally, on the 8th day, the Army rescued us. I couldn’t believe we were safe–mujhe aisa laga ki khud bhagwan aye hamari madat ke liye, Army officers ke roop mein. I knew I’d found my calling.”
View this post on InstagramHe went on to add, “I’d started Hemkunt Foundation in 2010, but it was only after that that I began working on it properly. I’d received help & wanted to carry that forward. So I went back to Uttarakhand, with fuel & food for the locals. Over 2.5 years, I rebuilt their houses, constructed roads. With time, my business took a backseat; I had to sell my house, even my wife’s jewellery. Still, I was sure, ‘Business rahe ya na rahe, Hemkunt rehna chahiye’; we kept going on donations by well-wishers. My family & I moved to a 1 room flat; I was content.”
Sharing an incident, he added, “One of those days, a man who’d lost his family asked me for a loan of Rs.70,000–we had no money, but I didn’t have the heart to refuse him & gave him a cheque. That evening, a stranger donated exactly Rs.70,000! Then when the 2020 lockdown happened, I only had Rs.12,500. So, I devised a plan to help migrants; I made 10 rotis and asked 10 neighbours to do the same. Each of them telephoned 10 others & soon, we were distributing 40000 rotis a day.”
© Reuters
Talking about his son’s contribution, he said, “My son, Harteerath, volunteered to help me out. At first, I worried for his safety, but then I told myself, ‘Jab itne sare logon ki duayen hamare saath hai, hame kuch nahi ho sakta.’ And since the 2nd wave started, we’ve helped thousands with oxygen cylinders. And now, we’re pooling money to import oxygen cylinders; we also plan on building a PSA plant to manufacture oxygen. Till now, we’ve helped people with over 1,50,000+ litres of oxygen. My son has gotten COVID twice but as soon as he recovered, he joined me. Whenever people praise him, my chest swells with pride. I know that even if something happens to me, my son will take care of all this & Hemkunt will keep helping people.”
If you have been following their account on Instagram, you would have an idea that they have been arranging oxygen cylinders. They have organized cylinder drives that operated 24/7 in Gurgaon and it started around April 18.
View this post on InstagramThey have also been active in Mumbai as they have opened oxygen collection centres in the city. They have been taking help from Gurudwaras and are leaving no stone unturned in helping people.
View this post on Instagram
They have also started one more initiative wherein people can drive to their drive-through center in Gurugram and collect oxygen.
View this post on Instagram
They have been doing it all and it’s time that we also support their cause.

In another episode of ‘this happens only in India’, a bride from Uttar Pradesh called off the marriage after the groom failed a simple ‘math test’. Yes, you read that right!
The bride was suspicious of the groom’s educational qualifications and asked him to recite the table of two before getting married. He failed to recite the table and that’s when the bride decided to call off the wedding.
© BCCL
According to IANS, the Panwari Station House Officer, Vinod Kumar said, that it was an arranged marriage and the groom belongs to the Dhanwar village of Mahoba district.
When both the families gathered along with several guests from both the side for the wedding ceremony, the bride left the ceremony expressing that she cannot marry a person who doesn’t know the basics of mathematics. Friends and relatives tried to convince the bride but they failed.
The bride’s cousin said, “The groom's family had kept us in the dark about his education. He may not have even gone to school. The groom's family had cheated on us. But my brave sister walked out without fearing social taboo.”
© BCCL
However, no complaint was lodged by the police as both families found a common ground and decided to return gifts and jewelry.
Earlier, a bride from UP called off the wedding because the groom broke into a 'naagin dance' before the pheras. A bride stopped the wedding right after the varmala was done. Reportedly, the groom slapped his would-be wife when she said that she doesn't want to marry him.

The police were called but the families didn't file any formal complaints after the groom's family agreed to return the gifts.
