MULTAN: A case has been registered against members of a panchayat (village council) in Multan who allegedly ordered ?revenge rape? of a 16-year-old girl, Geo News reported.

According to local police, the panchayat was assembled in Muzaffarabad?s Rajpur area after a man named Umar Wada allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl on July 16.

On orders of the panchayat, two days later on July 18, the family of the rape victim arrived at the residence of accused Umar Wada, where the 16-year-old sister of the accused was raped by Ashfaq, the brother of the 13-year-old girl, in revenge, police said.

Police, upon hearing of the incident, took into custody 10 members of the panchayat, including its leader. Search is currently underway for the remaining men, who fled the scene following the incident.
