ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for prime minister Naveed Qamar said on Tuesday that he was college roommates with Pakistan Muslim League ? Nawaz (PML-N)'s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Los Angeles.

Abbasi is poised to become the next prime minister after being nominated as the PML-N candidate. 

?We were in the same college in Los Angeles. He was an undergraduate and I was a graduate student. We lived together in one house and then another house. He and another friend were responsible for driving and cooking.?

Qamar spoke highly of the time he spent with Abbasi in university, adding that they still remain friends.

?Even back then we had different political affiliations but on a personal level we are friends and will remain so,? said Qamar while speaking to Geo News.
